The power steering has failed and the rack and pinion needs replacement. Altho there was a recall they will not honor me to fix Bec they said it was over mileage. This is a safety concern bec the vehicle cannot be driven safely without power steering. It can cause you not to be able to turn fast enough or move from on coming traffic. I almost hit another vehicle trying to turn onto road. Have had vehicle looked at and was told it's not safe to drive until fixed
I am reporting a serious safety defect in my vehicle. While driving, the power steering suddenly failed without any warning, resulting in complete loss of steering control. At the same time, the brake warning light, ABS light, and traction control light illuminated, suggesting possible failure of critical braking and stability systems. This incident placed my safety and the safety of others at immediate risk, as the vehicle could not be steered properly and essential safety features may have been disabled. The problem persists, as the vehicle continues to have no functioning power steering and the warning lights remain on. The defective components are available for inspection, and the issue has been reproduced consistently since the initial failure. Given the severity of this malfunction and the danger it poses, I am requesting that a recall be issued to address this defect.

The power steering has failed. The dashboard showed these two phrases "Service Advancetrac" - yellow "Service power steering now" - red When that happened the first time the dealership was able to fix it under the customer satisfaction program by providing a module software update. But the issue happened again and I believe it is related to the 15V340 recall. I would like that to be investigated.
The steering wheel locks up. It happens when you make a sharp turn or when you turn on air conditioning a few minutes later steering locks. There has been a recall why wasn’t Ford Fusion included. If it was can I still get if repaired.

The power steering pump completely shuts down and throws a Power Steering Fault Error. When this happens, the car is moved as safe as possible to a safe location, turned off and restarted and the error clears. When the error displays, all power steering is shut off. There is no warning, it operates fine after restart, I have not noticed any correlation as to when it happens, but when it happens, it leaves you in a dangerous position. The dealer has not reproduced the issue, but has heard reports of the issue. I have not been able to reproduce reliably either.
The vehicle lost power steering. Restarting vehicle shows a "power steering assist fault" message. Looking into this fault, I found Safety Recall 15S18, for later year vehicles. This seems to be what I experienced. I have not had it towed to a dealer for diagnosis or repair yet, as the cost for repair seems to exceed the value of the car.

While driving, I suddenly loss control of power steering, making the control of the vehicle impossible. The electric power assist warning light came on. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM with FORD'S TRW MADE EPAS power assisted steering unit. There have already been recalls for 2011,2012 and other years. Why not for 2010?
Loss of power steering; and is available for inspection. Stopped working mid drive; confirmed with code U3000. Not inspected by Ford nor will dealership fix because of no recall. While driving dashboard gave service Advance Trac . The same issue the 2011 and 2012 Fusions had a recall for but the 2010 have the same issue and Ford wont recall. (Found that a fault in the programing caused a false negative shutting off power steering) 1579 complaints but Ford wont recall 2010's. Customers have had steering rack replaced only for the issue to come back; Ford discovered a flaw in the programing. Ive had the codes cleared and it drives fine for 160 or so miles then fails (3times). 2011/2012 recall had the new program uploaded to correct issue ;why not 2010? 2010 has same exact issue even the miles at (total) when failure happens is in line with 2011/2012
The steering rack and pinion has failed the message Service power steering now has accumulated it wasn’t there before I’ve had the car for a lil over a year and have had no problems the other day I pulled in at a gas station and lost all control to steering my vehicle
The Power steering pump is electrical which makes it more expensive and a higher chance of being at risk on the road because the steering wheel can stop working while you’re driving!!! It costs over $2,000 to fix and instead of having a recall for it you continue to keep putting consumers in danger! It starts off with replacing a battery then all of a sudden something is wrong with the electrical wiring, either recall it or put Ford out of business
Couldn't move steering wheel all of a sudden, drove to store and when I got back in my car, I couldn't turn the wheel and had to get it towed. Nothing happened or changed on the way to the store. When car was first bought, steering would lock up while driving on highway and almost caused accidents multiple times.
My 2010 Ford fusion has no power steering and I believe a fuel injector problem. The service power steering message appears the engine light is on. I was told it had something to do with needing a fuel injector. This problem needs to be recalled ASAP
The power steering pump has been replaced twice myself at home project for my son then I have a few buddy’s that also have power steering issues with the same year and a lot of people online claiming this as well this needs to be fixed immediately
ALL OUT MOTORS IN CLIO MICHIGAN KNOWINGLY SELLS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE VEHICLES, TAKES ADVANTAGE OF YOUNG WOMAN WITH [XXX] SON AND TAKES EVERY DOLLAR OF HERS FOR A CAR THAT IS FAR FROM DRIVEABLE AFTER ONLY A C MONTH OR TWO AND HAS BEEN HIGHLY UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE AND UNPREDICTABLE SINCE PURCHASE, DEALER REFUSED TO PROPERLY RESPOND TO SITUATION AND HARASSED THE MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED IT AFTER PURCHASE WHEN DEALER WAS CONFRONTED ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES. Every time there was any miniscule imperfection in the road, I would lose control of steering and the car would move into other lanes, unable to immediately correct it. Missing lug nut due to stud snapping off, when trying to replace it, all studs also broke off. All bolts in front caliper and caliper brackets also broke off, along with rear caliper snapping 3 days after vehicle purchase. Car is not drivable after having...
Electric power steering assist goes out this is a problem and should be recalled. It is on 2011 and up but not the 2010 . The manufacturer is no help
