Unintended acceleration event. Entered vehicle, put my foot on the brake, cranked it, held in that position while seatbelting. Engine had a VERY loud revving sound. Within seconds vehicle moving backwards on its own. Foot still on the brake, had not touched gas pedal, had not touched gear shifter, and was still sitting straight forward with my foot on the brake and confirmed gear shifter in park. The car quickly accelerated backwards faster and brake pedal had no effect on stopping or slowing vehicle. Went approx. 30’ across parking lot and only stopped because we hit truck parked behind us. Quickly turned off engine and removed keys. Shifter still shows Park. Careful driver. No history of accidents. I found there were several thousand reported events of unintended acceleration (Ford vehicles 2002 to 2010). Ford tried to explain many as driver error or floor mat touching the gas pedal. My mat...
Driver side CV AXLE broke.
Car parking selector, cable, parking prowler/bearing or module sensor inside transmission when car is placed in park indicator indicate as in park but vehicle still motions forward as not in park and if key can be taking out an car shut off will not start because not in the park position an is tough trying to get back in park to start the vehicle but indicator indicates as car in the park position has happened 3-4 times once almost causing a accident in a shopping enter whiling trying to park in parking space an vehicle indicated as in the park position an turn off vehicle it continued to roll forward almost hitting the vehicle in front parking space
Cylinder two the brass fitting came out of the transmission, no power when trying to accelerate, for whatever reason the front driver wheel rubs and messes up the tires, the pcm will throw a wrench symbol from time to time.
The transmission fails to shift from first to second and also is shuttering in reverse. It revs the engine and suddenly lurches forward or reverse. It becomes unsafe trying to get to traffic speed from a light or when turning. Yes the by independent service company. No it has need been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer. Warning lights came on after the first time it happened. This is a known issue with these transmissions and I believe its a manufacture failure to recall these transmisisons.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) malfunctioned causing the brakes to give out while I was driving the vehicle. Luckily I was on a residential street and I was able to safely pull over, but it could have caused a major accident had it not happened in that location. After taking it to two auto-shops, both concluded that it was a problem with the ABS system. There is an open recall for the 2010 Ford Fusion for the same exact issue (Recall number: 19S54), however it does not cover the Hybrid model, even though it is the same exact issue. In order to stop the vehicle, I need to press down on the brake pedal very very hard and use the emergency brake. It is not safe to drive, and it is a substantial and costly problem with the vehicle to repair. I would like my car to be part of...
124k miles on my Fusion. My wife's car, she doesn't beat on it. Had street cleaning, had to move to other side of street, went around the block. Had very little acceleration, jerking, by the time I made it around the block an Orange Wrench 🔧 came on to the dash. ( If this would of started on the express way, I wouldn't be alive to report it) Car was fine the 2 days prior, drove it, had it washed, taken in for emissions test. The following day took it in to get the wrench code scanned by my regular mechanic P2701-00 transmission friction element b apply time range/performance My mechanic told to take it in to a few Trans shops to get it checked out to see what they say. Need to replace the entire Trans... Looking at 3500.00 minimum. Unfortunately the trans problem is commonly known now for...
My vehicle will no longer operate in electric mode. This is a major safety concern since there is no assist from the high-voltage battery powered electric drive motor. Upon accelerating from a dead stop, there is a significant lag before the ICE kicks in and provides enough power to move the vehicle.
While driving, the throttle body valve malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to rapidly lose power and go into an engine "safe mode." The check engine light appeared on the dash. I was luckily able to pull over to the side of the road. Restarting the vehicle cleared the error, but the issue continued to recur until I was able to get home. Luckily the sudden loss of power did not cause an incident, but as it occurred on the highway, a sudden drop in speed could have posed a safety risk, especially if it had occurred in inclement weather. There was a recall for the specific part that failed, but due to my model being a hybrid, it was not included even though it contained the exact faulty component. Speaking with Ford Customer Care confirmed this to be the case that my specific car was not included in the recall. I...
The transmission has a steady leak and has shifting problems with jerking and revving without moving. When going from reverse to drive it will not move immediately and when it does catch it shifts very hard.
Power Steering Assist Fault. This message comes on occasionally when I first start the car. When I turn ignition off and back on, it usually clears up. My car has only 52k miles. Other Ford Fusion years had the same problem. Why were they recalled but not 2010? I’ve taken the car to a mechanic who has told me electronic power steering module must be replaced. I’m waiting for the estimate. $1500-$2500 out of pocket for a known manufacturer defect is unnerving. It first happened in the fall and now happens more frequently.
Driving home from the Dr.'s office the vehicle's RPM suddenly began to increase yet the vehicle was not moving faster; the Wrench icon came on, the vehicles Blind Spot Warning came on, the Speedometer went to zero and the vehicle continued to move forward at regular speed. With less than one mile to get home we were able to continue to drive the vehicle. When the vehicle was shifted into reverse to back the car into the garage, the transmission made a loud bang and jerked the car. The vehicle was driven into the garage. The fluids were checked and all are good. The vehicle was then started again and shifted into drive and the loud bang and jerk happened again. The vehicle has not been driven.
I have a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid that has approximately 90k miles. The car started randomly shutting off while driving. No combustion engine, no electric motor propelling the car. Suddenly shutting off while driving is incredibly unsafe. I took it to a Ford dealer and after much communication with Ford HQ, it was determined that the transmission control module was bad. This component is buried inside the hybrid cvt transmission, and as such cannot be repaired. The entire transmission needs to be replaced. After contacting about 10 large transmission shops in the region I found out that none of them can do the work. Ford has made the unit so that the information in the unit can only be copied and written with Ford software. It is impossible for a repair shop to install a used unit. The only way to repair the car is with a new transmission from...
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and lunged forward. The contact then stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle started losing motive power and decelerated. No warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist where the transmission was rebuilt and replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to a transmission specialist where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle began to jerk forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact stated that he had experienced the failure five times in total. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.
This vehicle has been in our family since new and all recalls and service has been done on schedule. Currently only have 75K miles on it. On January 19, 2023 I was driving the vehicle in question and had a warning pop up saying Check Brake System and Service AdvanceTrac at the same time I lost my brakes and the vehicle lost power but not total power. No warning was given prior to this happening. I was able to stop the vehicle after pushing the brakes all the way to the floor and putting the car in neutral. I was luckily in my neighborhood after driving home in heavy traffic. I was able to get the car to my driveway and after restarting the car the warning went away and my husband drove the vehicle and did not have the issue. I found that Ford had a Customer Service Satisfaction...
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle and removing the key from the ignition switch, the vehicle rolled away. The contact stated that the parking brake was applied to stop the vehicle and then the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired and was towed back to the residence. The contact was made aware of an unknown power train recall; however, the local dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
While driving my car 2 Wrench lights appeared on my dashboard. My car suddenly started to slow down and it would not regain speed. I had to find a safe place to pull over. When the traffic cleared I started back on my way home at a very reduced speed. This problem has occurred multiple times but my Ford dealer is unable to fix it. This problem has been addressed in Ford's "Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03 for Non-Hybrid Ford Fusions. Hybrid Ford Fusions have thee same Throttle Body Assembly part that has been replaced by Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03, so why not include Hybrid Ford Fusions too? (My car has only 61,000 miles.)
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a loud knocking sound coming from the vehicle, and the vehicle stalled. The transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that a mechanic went to the residence and diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE OR BE REIMBURSED WITH A VEHICLE OF EQUAL VALUE.
While accelerating in my car, the transmission felt like it was slipping and jerks into gear. it happens anytime I go from a stop in the first few gears. It is very dangerous if I would have to move out of the way of traffic.
I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME AND THE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' MESSAGE CAME UP ON MY DASH. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THAT WAS ABOUT UNTIL AFTER ABOUT 4 MILES WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY BUT THE STEERING JUST WOULDN'T TURN. I IMMEDIATELY FREAKED OUT. I KEPT GOING STRAIGHT FOR A BIT AND I THEN TRIED TO FORCE IT TOWARDS THE RIGHT SHOULDER (THANKS GOODNESS I WAS ON THE RIGHT LANE ALREADY) BUT AS I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN THE CARS BEHIND ME WOULD HONK AND THE PASSAGENS WOULD STARE AT ME WHILE PASSING LIKE IF I WAS TRYING TO MESS WITH THEM ON PURPOSE. THAT WAS SCARY AND EMBARRASSING. TURNED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON AND PULLED OVER TO CALL A FRIEND WHO KNOWS A BIT ABOUT CARS. I WAS TOLD I WAS OK TO FORCE THE STEERING IN ORDER TO GET HOME, ALTHOUGH I WAS SO...
ADVANCETRAC CAME ON AND ALSO SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW CAME UP STEERING IS NOW HARD I CHECK THE RECALLS ON THIS SITE YESTERDAY WENT TO A FORD DEALER THE SAID THEIR WHERE NO RECALLS I CAME HOME AND REFRESHED THE PAGE AN NOW IT SAYS THAT THEIRS 0 RECALLS.. I AM UNAWARE OF WHAT'S GOING ON... PLEASE GET BACK TO ME THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE TO GET TO WORK....STEERING IS HARD N IT'S A HASSLE DRIVE IT
PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. CHUGGING AND IRREGULAR SHIFTING
ENGINE LIGHT, ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT, ALARM LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON. THEN DASH WENT COMPLETELY BLANK. HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT,LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AT HIGH SPEED. DASH LIGHTS CAME BACK ON STIRRING CONTROL OF VEHICLE LOST. ALL DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. BREAKING SYSTEM NOT WORKING.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONE SATURDAY MORNING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER I PUMPED THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK AGAIN SO I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A MECHANIC TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT
MY FAMILY FINANCED OUR 2010 FUSION SEL IN SEPTEMBER OF 2011, WAS CERTIFIED USED WITH 7,900 MILES, PURCHASED WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY AS WELL. MY MOM AND MY SISTER DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS, THEY LOVED IT AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH IT. THEY PASSED IT DOWN TO ME IN 2018 WHEN I GOT MY LICENSE, MY MOTHER TOLD ME HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OUR CARS AND WHAT NOT TO DO, WE DON'T ABUSE OUR VEHICLES. THE FIRST MAJOR ISSUE WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT COMPLETELY WENT OUT AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A GREEN LIGHT IT FELT LIKE MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING TO FALL OUT OF MY CAR, WITH THE RPM JUMPING UP AND DOWN, SHIFTED HORRIBLY. I THEN DROVE MY POSSESSED CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER, THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED THE SAME DAY IN MAY OF 2018 UNDER WARRANTY AND WORKED FINE EVER SINCE (SOMETIMES). THEY SAID...
CAR ACCELLERATION IS SLUGGISH/WEAK AFTER CAR COMES TO COMPLETE STOP. POSES REAL DANGER WHEN ENTERING TRAFFIC, ESPECIALLY LEFT TURNS WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED BY SEVERAL OTHERS. CAUSE IS DESIGN DEFECT IN VEHICLE/BATTERY AGE COUNTER IN CAR'S COMPUTER. ONLY ALLOWS FOR ONE DIGIT. CAUSES BATTERY TO STOP WORKING PROPERLY AFTER CAR REACHES 10 YEARS OF AGE. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED IN AORIL 2010. HAD LOCAL AUTO SHOP RESET COUNTER TO "0". (CAR HAS ONLY 77,000 MILES) NOW FUNCTIONS AS INTENDED. COPY OF REPAIR INVOICE ATTACHED. I WILL SEND COPY TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY RQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT AFTER FILING REPORT HERE.
MY ABS AND TRACTION LIGHT STAYS ON. MY CAR SHIFTS REALLY BAD WHEN I HIT AN HOLE AND WHEN I GO OVER 65 MPH I FELL LIKE I AM LOSING CONTROL.
VEHICLE IS A 2010 FUSION HYBRID. VEHICLE HESITATES FOR 1-3 SECONDS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THERE IS A DELAY BECAUSE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FAILURE OF THE HYBRID DRIVE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE POWER. I ALSO NOTICE THIS DURING ROUTINE DRIVING, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN THEN. THE HYBRID POWER SYSTEM HAS SIMPLY STOPPED PROVIDING THE ADDITIONAL POWER REQUIRED BY THE POWERTRAIN TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC WHEN PULLING OUT OF A SIDE STREET ONTO A BUSY ROAD. THE CAR HAS ENOUGH POWER TO GET ME INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BUT THEN HESITATES TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY FOR 2-3 SECONDS, PRESENTING A DANGER TO ME AND OTHER CARS. I AM LEARNING TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS DELAY BUT THIS IS SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS. OTHER DRIVERS OF THE SAME MODEL OF SIMILAR AGE ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUES ON FORUMS...
MY 2010 FORD FUSION HAD THE SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT COME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, AND THEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC CAME ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND EVEN THOUGH MY CAR HAS TWO OPEN RECALLS FOR AIRBAGS AND FUEL TANK, ALONG WITH AN EXTENDED ONE ON MY THROTTLE BODY, THEY CAN'T GET MY CAR IN UNTIL NEXT MONTH. I'VE TRIED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY TERMINALS, AND REPLACED THE BATTERY IN HOPES THAT IT WOULD RESET THE COMPUTER AS THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE A POWER STEERING PUMP AND IS CONTROLLED BY A COMPUTER CHIP.
DELAYED EXCLAMATION WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOWING DOWN FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TIE ROD BREAKS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I'VE HAD IT FIXED 5 TIMES IN ONE YEAR
BOUGHT USED FORD FUSION ON 9/16/19 FROM FRED BEAN CADILLAC- BUICK IN DOYALSTOWN PA. AFTER ABOUT DRIVING IT FOR 950 MILES ON 10/04/19 AN YELLOW WRENCH ICON APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD AND THE CAR SEEMED TO LOSE POWER. THE CAR WAS PARKED AND THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF, ONCE THE CAR WAS RESTARTED THE WRENCH ICON DISAPPEARED. MADE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM AT 7:30AM ON 10/05/19 TO HAVE THE CAR LOOKED AT. WAS TOLD NO ERROR CODE WAS FOUND, BUT LATER THAT SAME DAY WHILE DRIVING HOME AROUND 2:00PM THE WRENCH ICON REAPPEARED AND THE LOSS OF POWER HAPPENED TURNING OFF FROM RT 332 (YARDLEY-NEWTON RD SPEED 55MPH) ON TO STONY HILL RD SPEED 40MPH. ONCE I GO TO A RED LIGHT AT STONY HILL AND YARDLEY LANGHORNE RD INTERSECTION I TURNED CAR OFF, THEN RESTARTED CAR AND WRENCH ICON DISAPPEARED.
TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING BAD FROM FRONT OF BELL HOUSING WHEN IN ANY GEAR. L/H AXLE SEAL WENT BAD 3 YEARS AGO, FIXED THAT BEEN FINE UNTIL THIS. A LOT OF TBS ON THIS PROBLEM, TIME FORD DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I HAD A FLAT TIRE WHAIL THE TIRE WAS GOING FLAT THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT SEEMS TO BE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT I WAS ON A SIDE STREET
TRANS. PROBLEM HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME. SINCE 2015. TRANS JUMPS OUT OF GEAR, LOSES POWER AND LURCHES. EXPERIENCED 3 NEAR HE AD ON COLISIONS WHEN JUMPING OUT OF GEAR. I HAVE NOTICED SCORES OF COMPAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM.ALL WITH VEHICAL IN MOTION.
OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS MY FORD FUSION'S TRANSMISSION HAS SLOWLY BEGUN TO LOSE ITS SHIFTING ABILITIES. IT FIRST STARTED WITH SLUGGISH AND JERKY MOVEMENT WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THEN IT STARTED SLIPPING AND JERKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC SPEED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE GOING. IT INCREASED TO AN EXTREMELY HIGH REV BEFORE MAKING A LOUD BANG AND HARD SHIFT INTO GEAR. AS OF YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, IT SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AS I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP THEN WOULDN'T REENGAGE 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. I LIMPED IT DOWN THE ROAD TO THE NEAREST EXIT INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I STOPPED IN A PARKING SPOT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE BEFORE TURNING IT BACK ON. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT, REVERSE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I...
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
WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR AND THE CAR LOSS STEERING CONTROL AND THE POWERSTEERING ASSIST FAULT CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL AND DRIVE. LUCKILY SOMEONE DID NOT GET SERIOUSLY HURT.
IN RESPONSE TO FREE PRESS NEWS ARTICLE FROM SUNDAY 7/14, I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2010 FORD FUSION WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUES. FORD CLAIMED THEY INSTALLED THE A FIX FOR THE ISSUE, BUT PROBLEMS PERSISTED. VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST POWER WHILE ON THE FREEWAY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. PLEASE EXPAND INVESTIGATION TO INCLUDE FUSIONS.
WELL FOR ONE FORD WAS SUPPPSE TO HAVE DONE TRANSMISSION WORK ON MY CAR TWO YEARS AGO N NOW MY CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING. FOR EXAMPLE IT STARTED WITH WHEN 8N PARK IT ROCKS BACK AND FOWARD MORE THE A INCH IN EITHER DIRECTION. I SEEN WHERE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR THAT VERY PROBLEM BUT IT WAS NEVER FIXED ON MY CAR. SECOND THING IS THERE WERE A RECALL ON MY AIRBAGS , FORD HAD MY CAR FOR 2 WEEKS N SAID THEY FIX THE AIRBAG PROBLEM BUT THAT WAS A LIE. I HAVE PLENTY OF RECORDINGS OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS OFF LIGHT STILL COMING ON. SO IF U WOULD BE SO KIND AND GET THESE PROBLEMS N RECALLS TAKING CARE OF IT WOULD BE GREAT THANKS..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY SHIFTING THE GEAR FROM PARK INTO REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF, BUT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND INITIALLY. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
FROM AROUND 30000 MILES ON I HAVE HAD A. N INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH TRANS. SLIPPING BETWEEN 2ND & 3RD? GEARS. MENTIONED IT TO RUTHERFORD AT LEAST TWICE, WAS TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. TOOK CAR TO DESOTO FORD DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER EXTENDED WARR WAS TOLD IT MIGHT BE DIRT IN VALVE BODY AND IF TAKEN OUT AND NOTHING FOUND ENTIRE COST WOULD HAVE BEEN ON ME. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. NOW TRANS IS SLIPPING VERY OFTEN. I FEEL THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF UNDER ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM ALWAYS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING.
'TAKATA' I HAVE LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM WITH MY FORD FUSION 2010 WHICH IS THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING AND THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE VECHILE BUT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE MODELS AFTER IT HAVE A RECALL BUT NONE FOR THE 2010 MAKE. I FEEL AS IF, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON ANY AND EVERY VECHILE FORD MAKES. NO MATTER THE YEAR OR MODEL. THE MANUFACTURER MADE THE VECHILE AND OF ITS A PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT CAUSED BY CUSTOMERS BUT BY THE MANUFACTURER THEN IT SHOULD BE FIXED. SOME PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX PROBLEMS THAT ARE SO EXPENSIVE AND THE CHARGE OF LABOR LIKE MYSELF! MY VECHILE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT HAD COME ON.
WHILE IN MOTION MY VEHICLE DOES NOT SPEED UP WHEN COMING FROM A DEAD STOP. EVEN TRAVELING SPEEDS OF 60MPH I CAN NOT PUSH ON THE GAS AND PROCEED FAST ENOUGH TO QUICKLY SWITCH LANES. IT RUNS HIGH RPMS
WHILE DRIVING FUSION SERVICE DOWN HIGHWAY SUNDAY(12-16-18) SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW LIGHT CAME ON & COULDN'T TURN STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT COMPLICATIONS & HAD TO GET HOME TO PARK CAR BEFORE I HIT SOMETHING DUE TO STEERING WHEEL TOO HARD TO STEER, CAR SHAKING, AND COULDN'T HARDLY KEEP IN LANE. THE SERVICE ADVANCE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON & BOTH REMAIN ON & LITTLE TO NO CONTROL LEFT TO STEER THE CAR SO CAR REMAINS PARKED. FORD KNOWS THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THIS PART AND EXTREMELY COSTLY REPAIRS AND PART IS A NECESSITY TO SAFELY OPERATE THE CAR. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED AT THE COST OF FORD MOTOR NOT THEIR CUSTOMERS WHO SEEK A SAFE CAR TO TRANSPORT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES IN.
MY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE FREEWAY. IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING.
THE POWER STEERING MODULE IS BROKEN ON MY VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE NOW FOR A FEW YEARS. THERE IS AND HAS BEEN AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM FOR 2011 AND NEWER VEHICLE. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE AND APPARENTLY MANY OTHERS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS EVEN DEATH. IF THIS IS NOT FIXED ON 2010 VEHICLES AS WELL. I WILL BE TAKING MATTERS TO A LAWYER. THIS IS UNSAFE. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN IT WENT OUT AND ALMOST CRASHED MY CAR
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND ENGINE RACING
TAKATA RECALL: MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HER 2010 FORD FUSION WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMINGLY LOCKED UP. SHE WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND NEARLY WRECKED IN PANIC. LUCKILY IT DID LOOSEN ENOUGH FOR HER TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE SITUATION.
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR OVER A MONTH DUE TO MY LIMITED INCOME AS A VETERAN I CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE AT AN ESTIMATE COST OF $1600. THIS ISSUE IS NOT DUE TO MY NEGLIGENCE.POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE IS THE ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING IT TO WORK IN DALLAS,NC WHEN I EXPERIENCED THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS I MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE. AFTER I STRUGGLED TO GET IT INTO THE PARKING SPACE I ALSO STRUGGLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AS WELL.ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE HOME I CALLED TINDOL FORD IN GASTONIA,NC REGARDING MY CONCERN I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEED TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AT MY EXPENSE OF $99. THEN IF IT IS THE EPAS (ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM) REPAIR ESTIMATE COST CAN BE ABOUT $1600. THIS VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY HAD A RECALL BEFORE NOT SURE BUT I THINK IT WAS FOR...
