THIS IS FOR AN AFTERMARKET COIL PAK MANUFACTURE BY WELL VEHICLE ELECTRONICS, SPRINGFIELD MO. THE PAK SHORTED CAUGHT ON FIRE, AND DAMAGED BY TRUCK (F150) ECU COSTING ME OVER $1300.00 TO REPAIR. I HAVE SENT THE COIL PAK BACK TO THE MANUFACTURE BUT THEIR ANALYSIS WAS IT WAS DAMAGED BY THE IGNITION. THESE COIL PACKS ARE THE IGNITION, THE ONLY THING FROM THE TRUCK IS THE 12 VOLTS, THE THE PULSE TO FIRE IT. I'M FILLING THIS REPORT TO YOU AS I'M SEEKING DAMAGES TO THEIR DEFECTED COIL. THAT OVERHEATED, CAUSING THE COIL WIRE TO SHORT AND CATCH FIRE. I HAVE THE SPARKPLUG AND IT WAS CHECKED AND IT IS NOT SHORTED.

OIL PRESSURE LOW, IT'S CAME SOMETIMES SINCE 3000KM UNTIL NOW I HAVE 190000KM ITS CAME 7 TIMES, AND WHEN IT'S HAPPENED THE TRUCK SWITCHING OFF AND THE DENGROUS THING WHEN THE STEERING LOCK OMG SPECIFICALLY ON THE HIGHWAY OR CORNERS
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN AND WARPED MANIFOLD.
WHILE DRIVING FROM OHIO BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA, MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELLING AT 75 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING MY TRUCK ABRUPTLY STALLED TO 5 MPH WITH NO POWER FROM THE ACCELERATOR. I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK OUT OF THE HIGH SPEED LANE ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND ON TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. A FEW MINUTES LATER, I TURNED THE TRUCK BACK ON AND ALL FUNCTION RESUMED. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR WORK THERE WAS NO ISSUE REPORTED OR READ AND THE ERROR COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. SERVICE INFORMED ME I HAD A BAD THROTTLE BODY. THIS TRUCK WAS PART OF A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM" RUN IN 2013 FOR A BAD THROTTLE BODY AND TOTAL LOSS OF ACCELERATION. MY TRUCK RECEIVED THE...
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY AT 65MPH, A YELLOW WRENCH APPEARED IN MY DASH INFORMATION PANEL AND THE VEHICLE ENTERED "LIMP MODE". THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND I HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY TRANSITION ONTO THE SHOULDER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART, HOWEVER, IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES ON THE WAY TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. THE OBD DIAGNOSTIC CODE WAS P2112
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,952.
TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HAD A WRECK BEFORE I COULD GET OFF FREEWAY.
HAS A REALLY ROUGH START. KNOCKS REALLY LOUD WHEN IDLE. DRIVES ROUGH AND KNOCKS AS WELL. AFTER A WEEK OF SEARCHING FORUMS I FOUND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE THE CAM PHASERS REPLACED. MOST OF THEM JUST SAID THEY CHANGED OUT THE ENGINE.
I HAD THE WRENCH LIGHT COME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF A PROBLEM AT FIRST. THEN A DAY LATER WHEN I WAS GOING TO WORK, I TURNED THE TRUCK ON AND PUSHED THE GAS AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATED AT ALL. MY RPM'S WOULD NOT CLIMB. I HAD TO LET MY TRUCK START TO GO ON ITS OWN THEN MY GAS PEDDLE WOULD FINALLY CATCH AND MY TRUCK WOULD GO. TIMMING CHAIN MAKING RATTLING SOUND ON STARTUP, THE ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR THE YEARS 2011-2015 AN D YET THE FORD COMPANY REFUSES TO MAKE A RECALL. OIL AND RADIATOR FLUID LEAKS CAUSING ENGINE SMOKING AND NAUSEATING ODOR WHEN HEATER TURNED ON WHILE ENGINE COLD OR COLD EXTERIOR TEMPS. COMPLETE LOSS OF ENGINE AND DRIVE POWER RANDOMLY LASTING 15-60SECS, THEN ALL NUMBERS IE: GAS MILAGE, SPEED, MILEAGE BECOME DASHES, SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING, ON HIGHWAYS AND CITY STREET. PULLING OVER SHUTTING OFF AND RESTART WILL RESET UNTIL NEXT RANDOM EPISODE. ROUGH JERKS AND OCCASIONALLY A BANG WITH JERKS (FEEL LIKE IT COMES FROM THE AXELS) USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. MORE OFTEN IN PARKING LOTS BUT IN TRAFFIC JAMS ON HIGHWAYS. ONCE TRANSMISSION RECALL COMPLETE IT RAN FANTASTIC FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. NOW IT'S WORSE THAN EVER AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR A DAY AND THEN GOES OFF.
AFTER PURCHASE, I GOT A CONTINUOUS P0308, CYLINDER 8 MISFIRE. PROBLEM IS THAT CYLINDER 4 HAS LOW/NO COMPRESSION, DRAGGING DOWN CYLINDER 8 AS WELL.
STOPPED RUNNING, DIED COMING OFF INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH. DAY BEFORE DIED AND WOULDN'T START JUST ROLLED AND ROLLED OVER. HOUR LATER, IT STARTED. HAD IT TOWED OFF INTERSTATE WOULD NOT START. STARTED ONCE AT DEALER. DEALER STATED THE FUSE 27 IS KNOWN TO MELT AND AFTER A WEEK IN THE SHOP IT IS FUSE 27 WHICH ALSO HAD TO BE REWIRED. IT IS ON WEBSITES THAT FUSE 27 DOES THIS ALL THE TIME.. SHUTTING OFF ON INTERSTATE IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ESPECIALLY WHEN FORD KNOWS OF THIS DEFECT.
AT APPROXIMATELY 80,000 MILES, I BEGAN TO HEAR A CHIRPING OR AIR WHISTLING SOUND WHEN LIGHTLY TO MODERATELY ACCELERATING. I BEGAN TO INVESTIGATE THE NOISE USING THE INTERNET WHERE I LOCATED VIDEOS FROM OTHER F-150 ECOBOOST 3.5 ENGINE OWNERS WHO WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT SENARIO AS I WAS. THEY HAD FOUND THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE AND/OR PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE LEAKING EXHAUST. THE TELL TALE SIGN IS A DARKENING OF THE AREA AROUND THE REAR OF EACH MANIFOLD. THE MANIFOLDS WERE WARPING FROM EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR MATERIAL FAILURE AT THE REAR AND ALSO BREAKING THE MOUNTING FASTENERS. I HAVE DETERMINED BOTH OF MY MANIFOLDS ARE LEAKING EXHAUST FROM THE NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE DRIVING. THIS MAY TRIGGER A SAFETY INSPECTION FAILURE IF FOUND DUE TO LEAKING EXHAUST AS WELL AS AN EMISSION TEST FAILURE IF REQUIRED BY THE STATE WHERE THE OWNER RESIDES....

PURCHASED VEHICLE, HAD PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY WITH DANGEROUS LAG IN ACCELERATION (WHICH WE STILL DO), AN AVERAGE OF 12 MPG IF WE WERE LUCKY AND VERY SERIOUS ENGINE MISFIRES WITH MAJOR DECREASE IN POWER ACCOMPANIED BY SPUTTERING WHOLE VEHICLE SHUDDERING WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON THE HIGHWAY OR WITH HARD ACCELERATION. THROTTLE BODY FAILED 12/4/17 LEADING TO ENGINE POWER LOSS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH WARNING DISPLAY APPEARED. COULD NOT ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER SAFELY. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT IMMEDIATELY WENT TO LIMP MODE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP (APPLE FORD, SHAKOPEE MN). TB WAS REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. ON 1/22/2020, THE VEHICLE AGAIN LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY AND WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. AGAIN, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO SHOULDER AND EXIT THE FREEWAY IN LIMP MODE AND GET TO NEARBY DEALERSHIP (WOLD MOTORS, JORDAN MN). DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY AGAIN FAILED, WAS REPLACED. TWO FAILURES WITH THE SAME PART IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME INDICATES A CLEAR DEFECT. VEHICLE LOSING POWER DUE TO THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE TO A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND RISK.

THE TECH THERE FOUND A BUNCH OF CODES STORED IN THE PCM, CLEARED THEM AND SENT US ON OUR WAY AND THE DRIVE BACK TO DALLAS WAS UNEVENTFUL. AFTER WE GOT HOME, THE WIFE WAS DRIVING HER TRUCK ON THE FREEWAY AND IT DIED ON HER ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, SO I TOOK IT TO NORTH CENTRAL FORD, SINCE THEY HAD DONE A PCM RECALL RE-FLASH (19V-075) ON IT PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR OUR TRIP....
I HAVE A F150 4-WHEEL ECO BOOST V6. I RECENTLY HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND AT THAT TIME DECIDED TO HAVE THE RECALL DONE FOR THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE NEXT FEW DAYS I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SOME HESITATION WITH THE GEARS SHIFTING AND THE TRANSMISSION AT TIMES WOULD DROP. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO BRING MY TRUCK BACK IN AT THAT TIME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT AN OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. SOME DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FEEDER ROAD GETTING READY TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY. AS SOON AS I ENTERED MY SPEEDOMETER STOP WORKING AND THE TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO 1ST GEAR. I RECENTLY HAD MY TRUCK SERVICED FOR THE REPROGRAMMING OF A TRANSMISSION CONCERN. THE NEXT DAY MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WILL NOT RUN HIGHER THAN 1ST GEAR. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. THEY COULD NOT LOOK AT MY CAR FOR ANOTHER TWO WEEKS.

I COULD ONLY INCH FORWARD (EVEN IF I FLOORED IT), BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED 10 SECONDS, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND ALL WAS WELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD, ABNORMAL NOISE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE MORE THAN 10 MPH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE POWER TRAIN FAULT WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE WAS BETWEEN 180 TO 190 DEGREES. ALSO, ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
WHILE DRIVING A WRENCH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THE CAR DECELERATES AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR. COME TO STOP WITH ENGINE SHUDDERING. CHECKED ENGINE CODE AS P2112. OPERATING ON FLAT SURFACE STREET AT 45 MPH
WHILE ACCELERATING QUICKLY, BUT NOT SO MUCH AS TO SPIN THE TIRES, THE VEHICLE STARTED "BUCKING". I WAS DOING ABOUT 35-40 WHEN IT GOT PRETTY BAD. THE ENGINE FELT AS IF IT WAS STOPPING AND STARTING VERY QUICKLY. IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY HARD TO CONTROL AND IT CAUSES THE TRUCK TO NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN REACH HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND DID NOT STOP FLASHING FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THE TRUCK WOULD ALSO NOT LET ME ACCELERATE FOR THAT AMOUNT OF TIME EITHER.
I HAVE BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WARPED AND LEAKING
MY 2013 F150 PLATINUM DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING, AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED BY DAVID STANLEY FORD IN MIDWEST CITY AND FOUND OUT THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE A FUSE RELOCATION KIT PUT IN TO FIX MY ENGINE FAILURE. I RESEARCHED WHAT THAT WAS, AND FOUND OUT THAT THE FACTORY INSTALLED MINI FUSE RUNNING THE FUEL PUMP CANNOT HANDLE THE AMOUNT OF CURRENT GOING THROUGH IT, AND OVERTIME IT MELTS THE FUSE BOX ITSELF, INSTEAD OF BLOWING THE FUSE, WHICH CAUSES COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. IT IS SUCH A COMMONLY KNOWN ISSUE THAT FORD HAS EVEN ISSUED A TSB EXPLAINING HOW TO FIX AND INSTALL THIS PROBLEM WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED KIT. WHY I AM COMPLAINING IS BECAUSE THIS ISSUE THAT CAUSES DANGEROUS ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AND WHICH LEAVES THE OWNER STRANDED, IS NOT A RECALL WHEN EVEN FORD KNOWS THAT IT IS A...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIME FORD SACO (857 PORTLAND RD, SACO, ME 04072, (207) 282-0300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP AND STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,480.
SINCE PURCHASED NEW THE ENGINE WILL INTERMITTENTLY COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ESPECIALLY DURING DAMP WEATHER. IT HAS SPENT WEEKS AT DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE ENGINE WILL SPUTTER AND KILL TAKING WITH IT THE POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND LIGHTS. IT IS STILL AN ISSUE TODAY. THE OTHER PROBLEM THAT IS REALLY CONCERNING IS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL SUDDENLY SHIFT ITSELF INTO FIRST GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND SEND RPMS RACING FOR NO REASON. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP V&H IN MARSHFIELD THAT THEY 'REPROGRAMMED' THE TRANSMISSION BUT THAT STILL HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME. ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPENED MAINLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH THE ENGINE BEING MOST COMMON DURING WET WEATHER. IT HAPPENS RATHER FREQUENTLY WITH THE LAST EPISODE BEING ON 8/12/19
I STARTED MY TRUCK AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRUCK WAS IN LIMP MODE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO PULL IT BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I PLUGGED IN AN OBD CODE READER AND IT GAVE A P2112 "THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK CLOSED." UPON SOME RESEARCH I FOUND SEVERAL MODELS BETWEEN 2011 THROUGH 2015 HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ISSUE WAS MOVING WHEN IT FIRST OCCURRED, BUT THANKFULLY IT WAS JUST OUTSIDE MY DRIVEWAY, I HADNT MADE IT TO THE HIGHWAY YET. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK, AND WAS ABLE TO PARK IT IN THE DRIVEWAY.

WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING THE TRUCK STARTED TO OVER HEAT, THE BATTERY DIED, AND I LOST STEERING DUE TO THE FAULTY WATER PUMP BREAKING AND THE SERPENTINE BELT COMING OFF WHILE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC
AS PART OF SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S07, I SCHEDULED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (KOON'S/ANNAPOLIS, MD) FOR SERVICE ON THIS RECALL. I SCHEDULED MY 100,000 SERVICE APPOINTMENT TO GO WITH IT. CURIOUSLY, ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER MAKING THE APPOINTMENT, A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALLED TO SAY WHILE THEY COULD TAKE THE APPOINTMENT THAT I WAS PAYING FOR OUT OF MY POCKET WITHOUT ISSUE, THE RECALL REPAIR THAT FMC IS PAYING FOR WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME UNTIL ... OCT. 1, 2019 AT THE EARLIEST. WHY IS IT THAT A REPAIR/SERVICE THAT I'M PAYING FOR IS AVAILABLE TO ME IMMEDIATELY, BUT A REPAIR THAT FMC IS PAYING FOR -- THAT REQUIRED A "DON'T DELAY / SCHEDULE TODAY" LETTER FROM FORD TO ALERT ME ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION ISN'T AVAILABLE UNTIL OCT. 1?
ENGINE TURBO, 100000 MILES TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK AT. DEALER FOUND NOTHING. AT 108000 MILES STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH TRUCK DOWN SHIFTING AND GRINDING AND ENGINE SQUEALING.

THE FORD MOTORCRAFT TIMING CHAIN PART AT4Z-6268A WAS REPLACED ON 12/28/2018 AND FAILED ON JUNE 11,2019. BEING A 3.5L ECOBOOST INTERFERENCE ENGINE, THEIR WAS CONSQUENCIAL DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER AND VALVES LEAVING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS AT HOME RESIDENT AND REQUIRED A TOW. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS RELATED TO A PART THAT FAILED, FORTUNATELY WHILE STOPPED, AND NOT IN MOTION. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH FORD, HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR WRITTEN WARRANTY OR PROVIDING A REMEDY FOR THE PART OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE RELATED TO THE TIMING CHAIN RESULTING IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY REPAIR INVOICES.
