The feul pump fuse holder melts and the car dies instantly. This is very dangerous if you where merging into traffic or on a major interstate traveling at speed. Also leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere at freezing temps or scorching temps and you have no cell service. This should be a immediate recall before people are injured or killed.
Driving along on freeway and vehicle immediately shut down in the middle lane. From my investigation I found out Ford issued a TSB (15-0137) indicating crank no start, loss of RPM. This vehicle shut down and failure had put me at risk on a freeway where everyone is doing 65 miles an hour at night. My findings after pulling the melted fuse out and putting it back in the vehicle started up. My concern is that Fort has a TSB on this however vehicle shutting down on the freeway is a definite safety concern. Dealer wants $300 For this repair because it is not a recall. It is just a TSB. However, the other sad factor is the TSB kit to do the repair is $45 plus $280 for the repair.
Driving on Interstate Highway. Entered a tunnel at 65 MPH. Near the end of the tunnel traffic started to slow down. I applied the brakes and the engine started to accelerate. I had full pressure on the brake pedal but the vehicle kept accelerating. There was a loud fan noise. Fortunately the vehicles ahead started to accelerate up to the speed limit - and beyond. I took my foot off the brake and turned on cruise control. The fan sound stopped and the truck maintained cruise control setting. I had heard the fan speed up twice before but I was parking each time1 and turned off the engine within seconds of hearing the fan motor speed up. I returned to my home and heard the fan motor speed up once more. I took the vehicle in to my local Service Station. They were able to recreate the problem. "Bad thermostat...
On vehicles equipped the R680 six speed transmission, the oil lines break off at the Quick Disconnect to the transmission oil cooler due to metal fatigue. When this happens, it causes 14 quarts of automatic transmission fluid to be pumped out onto the roadway from the front of the vehicle and on the tires and roadway. Several things can happen when this happens. 1. Loss of control resulting in a crash. 2. Vehicle stopping on roadway and unable to continue. 3. Roadway gets covered with oil may cause other vehicles to crash. 4. Enviornmental issues. I am reporting this because it is a problem that is common and should be addressed. The problem is well documented on the internet and YouTube. (Ford F150 Transmission Cooler Lines Breaking.) In my case the line snaped off when I was in my driveway. Very lucky.
My 2013 F150 had been acting strangely in showing a wrench on the LED screen and shutting off the electrical components on my dash. when this happens, it also sticks the transmission in between 3-5th gear. I am unable to shift down to 1st or 2nd gear, or up to 6th gear. After this happened a few times, it started to shift me in to Park and stop my wheels from turning. This happened to me 3 times while traveling down the highway at 80mph. All 3 times, it lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough to screech my brand new tires and leave marks on the ground as if I had slammed on my brakes. It returns to normal and continues down the road.
As I was pulling out onto the road it died blocking a 2 lane road at around 5AM so was pitch black luckily cars where paying attention & saw me I was able to roll it back off the road. Had a mechanic look at it after being towed back home he noticed fuse 27 was melted that is fuse for the fuel pump. Currently awaiting how much it will be to fix.
Vehicle dash lights will come on while driving (wrench light specifically) and vehicle looses all power and drops to 0 RPM 0 Speed. This has happened multiple times and is extremely dangerous! After 4 months, we finally got our appointment at a Ford dealership where they diagnosed the lead frame needs to be replaced. Truck is a 2013 Ford F150 with 114,000 miles and there is a bulletin for this concern but the truck is out of warranty by age. The total bill is $1,769.54 and I contacted Ford to see if they would help for customer satisfaction and was told no.
Not sure if it is the powertrain or the intercooler for the turbos but when you press the gas to get on the highway or at high speed on the highway and press the gas the check engine light blinks and the vehichal goes into limp mode. Easy to recreate and doesnt seem like ford has a recall for it or even a fix. Every eco boost truck ever made seems to have this issue and if you get rear ended because of it , that sounds like a safety hazard to me. The only fix I have seen from the f150 forums to youtube or anywhere on google is to drill a 1/16 hole in the intercooler and let sludge and condensation drip all over the place. Does not sound like a great fix to me.Not even sure if the intercooler is the culprit or if it's the power...
My 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor experienced the failure condition described in TSB 15-0137 causing sudden and complete loss of power, with no previous warnings, due to the fuel pump relay fuse holder melting and the fuel pump abruptly shutting off. This occurred while my son was driving the vehicle and while he did an admirable job of getting the truck off to the shoulder with no power, he was nevertheless on a freeway onramp around a blind turn with a merge where drivers were attempting to accelerate to highway speed, thus placing him in a dangerous situation for the hour or so it took to get a tow to the Ford dealer for repair. This failure mode (and subsequent repair) has had a TSB for 9 years and clearly has the ability to cause a safety concern, as it did in this case. Had I known about this TSB,...
Truck would crank but not start. Had towed to dealership and they found fuse 27 was melted. Was informed that this was a known design flaw. The fuse was relocated to slot 70. Car did not but could have caught fire causing catastrophic damage and injuries to myself or others.
Truck lost power, nearly resulting in accident on freeway while towing a trailer. Left me stranded. Fuel pump fuse was burned out which is a known issue that ford released a service bulletin for. This is a safety issue and should have been a recall.
While driving at highway speed 75mph our truck shut down with no warning. A wrench light came on with no other warnings. No check engine light no warning went from highway speed to limp mode zero power almost got rear-ended trying to make it off highway with no power. The problem is the throttle body has oil intrusion on the dry electrical side shorting out the motor with OIL! FORD could care less until someone gets killed they will deny any issues! I also have pictures of item full of oil! This is a no warning problem and ford cannot diagnose.
I was driving home from work and speedometer stoped working. My truck downshifts with no warning. I don't know if this is a transmission issue. Would not show my speed also the gas gauge is always at half way. The truck is a danger and sits parked in my yard due to it being so unsafe. Why won't Ford fix their broken vehicles?
Pickup would crank but not start. Fuel pump fuse melted. This should be a recall. This left me stranded 350 miles form home for a 10 dollar fix.
Took my vehicle in for 145,000 mile check. Informed the gas pump fuse relocation was not performed, started to melt. For the fix I was asked to pay $336. This an electrical and fuel issue. It is a known issue by Ford. Should this not be a recall, if it is a safety concern?
For about 1 year, the fuel remaining has been drastically uncertain. The standard dash gauge; the secondary instrument indicating gallons / miles remaining till empty; and the tertiary warning light indicating low fuel, are totally unreliable. Example: “5 miles to Empty” is actually approximately 15 gallons remaining. Very recent, the tertary warning light has stopped functioning altogether. This may indicate an electrical short or other fault in the fuel tank / system. With a capacity of about 35 gallons, I could easily miscalculate fuel used and end up stranded in the middle of nowhere or in a dangerous part of a city.
I was driving my truck in north Georgia while towing a trailer under 5000 lbs. The truck was in cruis control at 68 mph and the truck suddenly down shifted from 5th to 1st. I got the truck off the interstate at a reduced speed since it wouldn't shift up. When this happened an orange wrench light came on. When I stopped I turned the truck off and the light went away. We fueled up and got on the road. Shortly after the truck did the same thing with dropping to first gear and felt like it lost power steering. We pulled over and detached the trailer. I then got back on the road and after getting off the interstate and to slower roads the truck did the same thing. Every time the truck did this it reset the lights on the dash. The truck then sat for 5 days...
WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE BUSY STREET, MY TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING. IT WOULD NOT RE-START. IT HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS, WOULD CRANK OVER BUT NOT START. I HAD IT FLAT TOWED TO MY HOME. IT WAS DETERMINED TO NOT BE GETTING GAS. I FOUND A TSB ON THE PROBLEM AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR FROM FORD. FUSE #27 WAS TOO SMALL TO HANDLE THE CURRENT FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS COULD OF BEEN MORE DANGEROUS IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED FOMOCO AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. DOES FORD HAVE ANY LIABILITY ?
PULLING CAMPER ONTO INTERSTATE, ACCELERATED TO MERGE. TRUCK SHOOK, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND TRUCK BARELY MADE IT SAFELY TO THE NEXT EXIT. PEPBOYS REPLACED #2 COIL. MADE IT THE REST OF THE TRIP. UNABLE TO TOW CAMPER OR ACCELERATE NORMALLY, AS TRUCK SHUDDERS AND SLOWS SIGNIFICANTLY IN RESIDENTIAL AND INTERSTATE SPEEDS. ECOBOOST SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL TRUCK AND ENGINE, SO I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO FORD. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AROUND 66,000..
ELECTRONICS IN THE THROTTLE BODY CAUSE A COMPUTER FAULT WHILE DRIVING, WHICH RESULTS IN THE ENGINE (3.5 L TWIN TURBO V-6) INSTANTLY GOING INTO LIMP MODE, WHERE THE ENGINE PRODUCES NO POWER. THIS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IT HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING. IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT CAN HAPPEN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHERE THE SUDDEN DECELERATION CAN CAUSE A COLLISION, AND WHERE THERE IS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. THIS FAULT IS VERY COMMON IN FORD F-150'S AND FORD AUTOMOBILES. IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM IGNORED BY FORD AND THE NHTSA FOR YEARS! IT SHOULD BE THE OBJECT OF A RECALL! I REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY ON MY F-150 AT 75,000 MILES. NOW, 25,000 MILES LATER IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN! THIS IS RIDICULOUS, AS WELL AS EXPENSIVE! PLEASE, MAKE FORD STAND BEHIND THEIR DANGEROUSLY FLAWED...
3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, PRESSED GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE ONTO HIGHWAY. GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK IN DOWN POSITION WITH ENGINE REVVING. HELD BRAKE TO SLOW IT DOWN, PICKED RIGHT BACK UP WHEN LET OFF. NO FLOOR MATS WHERE NEAR THE PEDAL, AND TAPPING THE BRAKE DIDN'T DISENGAGE IT. WAS STUCK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AT DANGEROUS SPEEDS
GOES INTO LIMP MODE AT INTERSECTION VERY DANGEROUS THROTTLE BODY
TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE IN TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HAD A WRECK BEFORE I COULD GET OFF FREEWAY.
I HAD THE WRENCH LIGHT COME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF A PROBLEM AT FIRST. THEN A DAY LATER WHEN I WAS GOING TO WORK, I TURNED THE TRUCK ON AND PUSHED THE GAS AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATED AT ALL. MY RPM'S WOULD NOT CLIMB. I HAD TO LET MY TRUCK START TO GO ON ITS OWN THEN MY GAS PEDDLE WOULD FINALLY CATCH AND MY TRUCK WOULD GO. LATER THAT DAY I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, GOING ABOUT 40MPH, AND MY VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY TRUCK. IT DID LIKE 3 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS HOW AS SOON AS I START MY TRUCK, WITH IT STILL IN PARK, AND HIT THE GAS THE LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND THE TRUCKS RPMS DON'T WORK. THIS IS...
AFTER PURCHASE, I GOT A CONTINUOUS P0308, CYLINDER 8 MISFIRE. PROBLEM IS THAT CYLINDER 4 HAS LOW/NO COMPRESSION, DRAGGING DOWN CYLINDER 8 AS WELL.
WE OWN A FORD F-150 3.5 L ECOBOOST V-6 KING RANCH PICKUP TRUCK. TRUCK WAS PURCHASED IN 2014 NEW. HAVE SERIOUS CONCERNS AS THE VEHICLE HAS SO MANY CURRENT ISSUES. FROM DAY ONE OF PURCHASE AND WHILE STILL IN THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT, UPON START UP THERE WAS A VERY LOUD CLATTERING SOUND. SALES REP SAID IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS COLD AND IT HAD BEEN SITTING. PURCHASED VEHICLE, HAD PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY WITH DANGEROUS LAG IN ACCELERATION (WHICH WE STILL DO), AN AVERAGE OF 12 MPG IF WE WERE LUCKY AND VERY SERIOUS ENGINE MISFIRES WITH MAJOR DECREASE IN POWER ACCOMPANIED BY SPUTTERING WHOLE VEHICLE SHUDDERING WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ON THE HIGHWAY OR WITH HARD ACCELERATION. VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY IF IN THE FAST LANE, WHICH WE WERE. WE STARTED TO LIMP OVER SEVERAL LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER AND THE TRUCK REGAINED POWER. MANY MISFIRES LIKE THIS, ALL...
THIS IS RELATED TO TSB 15-0137. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE HAS NOT FAILED YET, MANY HAVE. MY FUSE #27 SHOWS SIGNS OF MELTING AND I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A LARGER FUSE AND HEAVIER GAUGE WIRE AT A COST OF ABOUT $150 (INCLUDING LABOR). IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS TRUCK WITH HORSES IN TOW. ON SEVERAL FORUMS I HAVE READ THAT THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FAILURE OF THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES, WHICH IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH A 120 POUND 20 YEAR OLD AT THE HELM WITH A HORSE TRAILER! THE TRUCK HAS JUST OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A KNOWN FORD DEFECT THAT CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE, AND FORD SHOULD BE PAYING THIS COST SO THAT THERE IS NO FINANCIAL IMPEDIMENT TO SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN ITS PLANNED USEFUL LIFE.
WRENCH (CHECK ENGINE) COMES ON FOR UNKNOWN REASON AND VEHICLE LOOSES ALL THROTTLE ABILITY! HAS COME ON 7 TIMES. HAS OCCURRED DRIVING AT 25 UP TO 65 MPH. TODAY I WAS IN THE FAST LANE WRENCH CAME ON AND SHUT DOWN THROTTLE. I MANAGED TO CROSS 3 LANES IN TRAFFIC. EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED I'VE STOPPED AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE RESTARTED & RUNS FINE. TAKEN TO FORD AS WELL AS PRIVATE MECHANICS BUT NO CODES SAVED. HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES. FORD TOLD ME THEY CANT FIX WITHOUT A CODE.
I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD CRANK B UT NOT START. I FOUND THAT A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK IS THE FUEL PUMP FUSE. I LOCATED THIS FUSE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS IN FACT BLOWN, AND MELTED IN HALF. FORD HAS CREATED A REPAIR FOR THIS, BECAUSE IT IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED BY FORD FOR THE CUSTOMERS AT NO CHARGE.
FUSE #27 BURNT UP AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THAT FUSE CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED IN TSB 15-0137. INCREDIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR DRIVER SAFETY. VEHICLE LUCKILY WAS NOT IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED. THIS MOST LIKELY WOULD NOT BE AN ITEM LOCATED IN A VIHICLE INCIDENT....SO THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY DEATHS THIS HAS CAUSED.
THE END OF LAST MAY, PULLING OUR CAMPER UP THE RATON PASS, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND A FOGGY SLEET STORM THE MIL ILLUMINATED, THE ENGINE DIED AND WE WERE BARELY ABLE TO NEGOTIATE OUR WAY BACK TO THE SHOULDER, AFTER JUST HAVING MERGED INTO THE LEFT LANE. WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE TRUCK AND IT DIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES ALONG THE WAY SO WE TOOK IT TO XIT FORD IN DALHART TX. THE TECH THERE FOUND A BUNCH OF CODES STORED IN THE PCM, CLEARED THEM AND SENT US ON OUR WAY AND THE DRIVE BACK TO DALLAS WAS UNEVENTFUL. AFTER WE GOT HOME, THE WIFE WAS DRIVING HER TRUCK ON THE FREEWAY AND IT DIED ON HER ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, SO I TOOK IT TO NORTH CENTRAL FORD, SINCE THEY HAD DONE A PCM RECALL RE-FLASH (19V-075) ON IT PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR OUR TRIP....
UPON EXCELLARATION AND WHILE CRUISING AT HIGHER SPEED'S MY VEHICLE WILL DOWN SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY FROM 6TH GEAR TO THIRD GEAR CAUSING MY REAR WHEELS TO LOCK. I RECEIVE A WRENCH SIGN ON THE DISPLAY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, THE DRIVERS AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE STAYS IN THIS GEAR UNTIL I STOP AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON. ALSO AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING A CONSTANT SPEED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 4TH GEAR, TO 5TH GEAR AND BACK TO 6TH ALL WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FIVE STAR FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 711 E WISHKAH ST, ABERDEEN, WA 98520, (360) 533-3673) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A FUSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED FOR THE 4TH TIME. *TR
TRAVELLING IN 30-35MPH ZONE WHEN ALL POWER DROPS - THE DASH SCREEN LIT UP ORANGE WITH THE WRENCH ICON, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THROTTLE RESPONSE WAS LOST WHICH MADE THE TRUCK SLOW DOWN. I VEERED OVER INTO THE TURN LANE AS THE TRUCK CAME TO A STOP. WHEN IT STOPPED, IT WAS IDLING VERY ROUGHLY. THE THROTTLE WAS BARELY RESPONSIVE... I COULD ONLY INCH FORWARD (EVEN IF I FLOORED IT), BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED 10 SECONDS, TURNED IT BACK ON, AND ALL WAS WELL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS. I WOULD NOT WANT TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
WHILE ACCELERATING QUICKLY, BUT NOT SO MUCH AS TO SPIN THE TIRES, THE VEHICLE STARTED "BUCKING". I WAS DOING ABOUT 35-40 WHEN IT GOT PRETTY BAD. THE ENGINE FELT AS IF IT WAS STOPPING AND STARTING VERY QUICKLY. IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY HARD TO CONTROL AND IT CAUSES THE TRUCK TO NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN REACH HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND DID NOT STOP FLASHING FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. THE TRUCK WOULD ALSO NOT LET ME ACCELERATE FOR THAT AMOUNT OF TIME EITHER.
JUST OUTSIDE OF 60.000 MI WARRANTY TRUCK THREW A CODE P2112. PAYING FOR IT OUT OF POCKET I BOUGHT NEW TAC UNIT AND INSTALLED AND CLEARED CODE TRUCK RAN FINE UP TILL 144.OOO MI .THEN BEGAN CLATTERING UPON 1ST START UP AFTER SITTING SEVERAL HOURS .THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED NEW TIMING SET AND TENSIONER. I BOUGHT AND INSTALLED AND REPLACED ALL TIMING COMPONANTS. TRUCK ALSO BEGAN SHOWING CODES P2112 AGAIN AND WILL ONLY CUT OUT WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND UNDER A LOAD ..CYLCLE KEY AND WILL START AND DRIVE A BLOCK AND REPEAT ONLY THIS TIME IT THROWS THE P2112 CODE AND AS LONG AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THE TRUCK WONT STALL AS BEFORE.
WHILE TRAVELING ON I70 IN COLORADO AND TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS A THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE LEARNED THIS PROBLEM IS FAIRLY COMMON WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE AND HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY RESOLVED LEAVING THOSE DRIVING THESE VEHICLES IN DANGER.
TRAVELING 50 MPH ON A 4 LANE ROAD WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF. HAD POWER TO VEHICLE BUT NO STEERING OR BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE 4 LANE HIGHWAY SUCCESSFULLY. THE TRUCK WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT CRANK, AFTER SITTING 90 MINUTES, IT CRANKED. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. THEY SAID IT WAS THE #27 FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. PUT A KIT IN TO MOVE THE #27 FUSE TO AN ISOLATED LOCATION SO IT WOULDN'T GET HOT AND MALFUNCTION. THE COST WAS $250. I ASKED IT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID NO. I SAID SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED BECAUSE THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE RESPONSE WAS WE HAVE BEEN GETTING A LOT OF THESE. I WAS LUCKY AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE NEXT PERSON MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS...
WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY I LOST POWER TO MY 2013 F150 6.2L. I HAD A TRACTOR TRAILER ON MY RIGHT SIDE AND A JERK TAILGATING ME. I FINALLY MANAGED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
MY TRUCK FAILED TO START, AND WHEN I INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE I FOUND FUSE 27 (LOCATED IN THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX AT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE BAY) MELTED CAUSING CIRCUIT FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO OPEN WHICH LEFT THE TRUCK WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING FUEL SYSTEM (FUSE 27 IS PART OF THE CIRCUIT FOR THE FUEL PUMP). REPLACING THE DAMAGED FUSE RESOLVED THE ISSUE WHILE A MORE ROBUST SOLUTION IS DETERMINED. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED DURING OPERATION THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE LOST POWER, BEEN UNABLE TO STEER DUE TO AN ELECTRIC ASSISTED STEERING SYSTEM AND BECOME A HAZARD FOR OTHER VEHICLES WHILE PUTTING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE TRUCK, AND ANY VEHICLE THAT COLLIDES WITH IT, AT RISK FOR INJURY OR DEATH. FORD ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB 15-0137), BUT THIS IS NOT COMMONLY KNOWN OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE-SPECIFIC SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ON THE INTERNET (HTTPS://WWW.FORD-TRUCKS.COM/FORUMS/1449733-TSB-15-0137-FUEL-PUMP-FUSE.HTML). FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE...
DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY, 65-75 MPH, LOST ENGINE POWER AND HAD TO PULL OVER, TRYING NOT TO CAUSE A WRECK, AND STOPPED BETWEEN BUSY HIGHWAY AND ON-RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY. FOUND THAT THE ENGINE HAD STALLED AND WOULDN'T RESTART. FOUND #27 FUSE MELTED. CHANGED FUSE AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE. I DON'T LIKE REPAIRING FORD'S ENGINEERING MISTAKES, NOR DO I LIKE BEING PUT IN DANGER BECAUSE OF THEM. I USE THIS TRUCK FOR WORK AND HAVE A LIFETIME'S ACCUMULATION OF SPECIALTY TOOLS KEPT IN THIS TRUCK FOR MY JOB. IF THE TRUCK GOES UP IN FLAMES, WILL FORD REPLACE WHAT IS LOST? THE WAY THIS FUSE, FUSE BOX, AND THE CONNECTION HAS FAILED LOOKS AS THERE CAN POTENTIALLY BE A FIRE. IN MY CASE, THERE WAS AN INTERRUPTION IN NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW, AT HIGH SPEED, THAT COULD A RESULTED IN A WRECK, INJURY, DEATH, ETC. I WILL FIX THIS,...
CAR STARTED TO RUST QUICK HAD AIR BUBLES BUILT UP ON VEHICAL WENT TO THE NEAREST DEALER TO GET THAT DONE THEY TOLD ME THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THE SPEED SENSOR THEY DONT WANT TO FIX IT FOR DEALER IS LOCATED ON RT 30 IN PLAINFIELD.AND MY FEUL MEATER ON THE DASBOARD IS INACURATE
THE TRUCK SHIFTS INTO EMERGENCY MODE WHILE DRIVING AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND STOP SHUT OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART. WHILE IN IDLE THE VEHICLE SHAKES. IT IS AT THE FORD DEALER IN BEATRICE NEBRASKA AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACED... 400$ REPAIR. ALSO, AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR WENT OUT 1500.00 REPAIR ON A 2013 VEHICLE!
THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS. I HAVE 2015 F-150 ECOBOOST AND FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 14 MONTHS HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. THE ENGINE DIES WHILE ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY TYPICALLY BETWEEN 55-70MPH AND THE WRENCH COMES ON. I HAVE THE COAST THE CAR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AVOIDING SPEEDING TRAFFICE, BRING THE CAR TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND THEN TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT WORKS. I'VE HAD IT HAPPY AS MANY AS 19 TIMES ON ONE TRIP.
VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE DURING WIDE OPEN THROTTLE ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT ON HIWAY. PROBLEM HAPPENED OVER AND OVER. FOUND THE 100,000 MILE SPARK PLUGS FAILED
BILLY CAIN FORD SOLD A TRUCK TO ME AS LOW MILEAGE WITH NO CARFAX DAMAGE. SALESMAN TOM CHACKO PROMISED A CARFAX REPORT AT CLOSING. HE FAILED TO PRODUCE THE REPORT UPON DELIVERY TO ME AT WORK. TOM VOWED THE TRUCK HAD NO DAMAGES. CARFAX/AUTO CHECK SHOWED 4 BRAKE FAILURES AND 2 ALTERNATOR FAILURES. GREENE FORD VERIFIED FLOOD DAMAGE 12-11-18. TOM CHACKO DENIED THEIR FINDINGS 12-12-18, REQUESTED WRITTEN REPORT. LEMON SQUAD DOCUMENTED FLOOD DAMAGE 12-26-18. ALL THREE REPORTS SHOW CONSISTENT FLOOD DAMAGE. JASON PIRKLE WARRANTY/FINANCE MANAGER REFUSED TO REPAIR FAILED EMISSIONS STATING THEY WERE NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASE. THE EMISSIONS CODED 170MI AFTER PURCHASE INDICATING THAT CODE WAS RESET BEFORE MY PURCHASE. THE EMISSIONS DAMAGE WAS COVERED UNDER EMISSIONS PERFORMANCE WARRANTY COVERAGE FEDERAL MANDATE. GREENE FORD GLADLY REPAIRED THE EMISSIONS WITH NO ISSUES. JASON PIRKLE PRESENTED THE TRUCK TO WELLS FARGO BANK, STATE FARM INSURANCE, AND FORD MOTOR...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND HESITATED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THERE WAS ALSO A SHIFTING DELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOU FUSZ FORD (2 CAPRICE DR, CHESTERFIELD, MO), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE FUEL FILLER NECK WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED FUEL TO SPILL OUT WHEN REFUELING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN I ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY TO MERGE OR PASS MY TRUCK LOOSES POWER COMPLETELY CAN NOT ACCELERATE. IT SHUDDERS FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FLASHING AND IT SUDDENLY COMES BACK TO LIFE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD AND THEY SAID IT WAS A HIGH PRESSURE PUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I REPLACED IT AND IT IS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS. THE MORE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE THE MORE I FIND ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. FORD SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE AND RECALL THESE TRUCKS FOR THIS PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP HOPING THEY CAN FIGURE IT OUT. LAST FORD TRUCK I WILL EVER OWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT NOTICED A BURNING ODOR AND TOWED THE VEHICLE TO FUTURE FORD LINCOLN (650 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661, (888) 656-7577). THE DEALER REPAIRED A FUEL PUMP AND WIRING THAT WAS HEAT DAMAGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000. *JS
DUE TO THROTTLE BODY FAILURE, THE TRUCK HAS GONE INTO A "LIMP" MODE SEVERAL TIMES. NEEDLESS TO SAY FOR THE TRUCK TO SUDDENLY STOP ACCELERATING WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN COULD BE DEADLY. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DEAD BECAUSE OF THIS AND WERE NOT ABLE TO TELL ANYONE THE ACCIDENT WAS DUE TO THE FAILURE AND NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR DRIVING. NOT SURE I WANT MY WIFE OR KIDS TO DRIVE ANYTHING MADE WITH FORD'S THROTTLE BODY DESIGN. I SEE THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03 TO FIX THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF A RECALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS CUSTOMER IS NOT SATISFIED.
