My 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch suddenly downshifted while traveling at highway speeds. It downshifted into 5th gear, not 1st, luckily. This has occurred twice and I will take my truck to my local dealer tomorrow morning. A few years ago, I had transmission work completed because my truck was stuck in first gear and required tuning off the engine to get it back to shifting properly. At that time, I was unaware of the 2019 recall for the transmission control module and speed sensor, and spent money on the repair because my local ford dealer denied that this was part of the recall. I now suspect that was not true.
I had all the recalls done to my vehicle that pertains to a problem with my vehicle suddenly shifting to first gear at freeway speeds. This was done about two years ago. On July 7th, 2024 my vehicle suddenly shifted to first gear while traveling at a rate of 55 miles per hour. My rear tires suddenly locked up and I lost control of my vehicle. Luckily I avoided an accident. I’m reporting this information because Ford’s recall to this problem did not solve the issue and this can cause accidents.

Engine shifted down one gear in the middle of the road while during normally. Almost caused me to loose control of vehicle. This had happen 3 or 4 times. Engine also gets “stuck” in 1st gear until electronic error message comes on dash. Then dash goes blank and then it runs fine. Requires me to restart the engine to fix the issue, however it happens 9/10 times while driving.
When traveling on road and want to speed up to get on freeway, change lanes, or simple speed up I lose power shift and it goes from 6 to 4 or 3 in gears and I can't accelerate which has almost caused many accidents. The check engine signal will only blink right when it's happening and loose speed and the AC air flow will get warm until it corrects itself after I either slow down or shut truck off completely. But always happens when you accelerate at any time.

Truck threw code P2112 Throttle body plate closed. Truck immediatly went into limp mode meaning on only poorly tried to idle, no throttle. This is the SECOND time this part has gone bad on this truck. Never mind they are 600 dollars to replace, it was a very dangerous to have the truck just die during a merge onto highway manuver. If I have to do it twice, how many hundreds of thousands of these failures exist? The first time it happened, I almost crashed. My ford dealer says he sells "alot" of this part. Part number failure is BL3Z9E926B
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the speedometer and the odometer became inoperable. while i was driving the speedometer went all the way to zero and started shifting down into first gear. i took it into a ford shop and they said i was 4000miles over the 150000mile warranty, and that the code p720 popped up on the codes. they said i need to replace the leadframe in the transmission and reprogram it, which will cost me $1500 out of pocket. it is very dangerous driving because i could easily get into an accident when this happens or transmission could blow that gear. i hope ford extends this warranty because i was reading online and found lots of people having the same issue as me.

I was driving on the highway going 70MPH in 6th gear. Myself, my wife, and my 6th month old son were on our way to a doctors appointment when in the middle lane on the highway my truck decided to completely downshift into 1st gear. With doing so my truck locked up and I lost control of the vehicle almost colliding with a semi. I was very lucky to not have wrecked and got onto the shoulder safely where I had no power to my vehicle. I got it towed to a dealership and after paying out of pocket for a diagnostic they found that my truck had a recall with the oss sensor on the transmission witch caused significant engine and transmission damage resulting in $18,000.00 to fix. Apparently the warranty expires 10 years or 150k miles which my truck has surpassed both. I wasn’t warned about any recall...

If my engine and others who are expereancing the same problem as others F150s that have been recalled. Ford needs to fix this with my truck and others. Exhaust manifold bolt broken and now hear a whistling noise at idle. My concern is CO gas leak. Problem happened last year but took until last month to determine the cause of the noise
Truck lost power, nearly resulting in accident on freeway while towing a trailer. Left me stranded. Fuel pump fuse was burned out which is a known issue that ford released a service bulletin for. This is a safety issue and should have been a recall.

I believe the power train is defaulting. It is available for someone to look at if they come to us, as it is not drivable. The safety of my family and other drivers on the road is at high risk, as the truck shuts off while driving at any given moment without warning. The problem has been ongoing ever since we had the transmission software recall issue, "fixed." We have taken the truck back to the Ford manufacturer, Airport Ford in Florence, Kentucky, twice, with no help of getting the issue resolved. The wrench light came on before the problem started. We looked into that by taking it to Airport Ford in florence Kentucky. The issue is still ongoing and we are currently no longer driving the vehicle as it will no longer stay running. This has been going on since we had the truck fixed due to a recall...

I took my truck in a couple of weeks ago to get the recall done due to downshifting. Picked it up the next day and they told me they resolved the issue. The next day it happened again and it continued for a week. I called the dealership (Holmes Tuttle Ford) and they said they would charge me $200 plus maintenance fee even though it is a recall. Fast forward to today and my truck went out and will not start. Called ford and they informed me that although they cleared the recall they did not actually fix the problem because it was not present when they turned it on and told me I would have to repair it on my own even though they did not attempt to fix it.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle started jerking and failed to accelerate as needed while the accelerator pedal was being depressed. As you are driving the vehicle will randomly down shift into first gear, causing the vehicle to potentially slam into first while in mid drive almost as if you hit a wall, this causes the vehicle to lose any information on the dash including speedometer. There are no warning lamps on prior to incident. Took it to a dealer to have it diagnosed and diagnosis was recorded as Transmission speed sensor which was common for recalls recently. Uncertain, how or when it started happening there was an elderly couple who owned the vehicle before me. This incident occurs frequently but not all the time.

The vehicle was towed to his family residence. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 182,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for a recall repair. After driving two blocks away after the repair, the vehicle downshifted unintendedly. While driving at highway speed 75mph our truck shut down with no warning. A wrench light came on with no other warnings. No check engine light no warning went from highway speed to limp mode zero power almost got rear-ended trying to make it off highway with no power. The problem is the throttle body has oil intrusion on the dry electrical side shorting out the motor with OIL! FORD could care less until someone gets killed they will deny any issues! I also have pictures of item full of oil! This is a no warning problem and ford cannot diagnose.
Ford has a known problem with the timing chain that results in needed repairs that cost in excess of $4000. The truck has 85000 miles and has been well maintained. I see that Ford had a recall on Ecoboost V6 engines. However, no recall was made on the V8 5 Liter engine even thoough Ford is well aware of the problem. I believe that Ford is hiding/falsifying information to avoid fixing the problem. I was informed that this issue is not frequent, but does happen in 20 to 25 percent of their vehicles. This is not a warranty issue. This is an issue of Ford not complying with regulations to identify and provide recalls for defective equipment.
I have a Exhaust manifold leaking on the drive side lower back side. I'm scared it could catch my truck on fire if a backfire could happen while with my family with me

I was driving home from work and speedometer stoped working. My truck downshifts with no warning. I don't know if this is a transmission issue. Would not show my speed also the gas gauge is always at half way. The truck is a danger and sits parked in my yard due to it being so unsafe. Why won't Ford fix their broken vehicles?
Cam Phasers have failed

*cam shaft rattle on cold start up- started around 140,000 miles- safety issue *vacuum pump leaking causing other unknown problems, when running the heater and a/c, blows strong cloud of exhausted in the passengers face- safety and health issue *driver seat will not move- checked all power and seat motor- no issues found. dealerships unable to figure out issue. first the problem was intermittent now no movement - safety issue * A/c will not blow cold air, everything else works correct, full charge, fuse ETC. unable to find the issue. *PCM intermittent issues. safety issue *BCM- unknow if this is causing the problem Most of these issues are not throwing check engine light, they only say to check voltage. I have contacted several dealerships who agree that this is a on going issue with this make, model and several years. ford found the issue and corrected on newer model but...
Took my vehicle in for 145,000 mile check. Informed the gas pump fuse relocation was not performed, started to melt. For the fix I was asked to pay $336. This an electrical and fuel issue. It is a known issue by Ford. Should this not be a recall, if it is a safety concern?

I'm having a problem with my transmission locking up on me it's Switching gears without no notice and there is a recall on this I need to be done
Ford knowingly has allowed a faulty design on its 3.5 Ecoboost engine where the exhaust manifold bolts shear off on it's first generation motor. The exhaust manifold bolts shear off allowing exhaust gases to enter the cab thru the firewall. The sheared bolts and leaking manifold also alter the emissions of the vehicle. Exhaust gases in the cab of the vehicle would explain my headaches when driving longer distances. The local Ford Dealer has inspected and confirmed this is a known issue with multiple F-150's manufactured from 2011 -2017. The manufacturer has redesigned the system in vehicles starting in 2018 but has refused to resolve the issue for previous years. The repair estimate from the dealer is $3944. There were no warning signs of the failure and no communications from the manufacturer of this issue prior to a routine service being performed by the local dealer. The manufacturer has been...
Vehicle coolant leaks in large quantities from rubber seals in a tee connection fitting near the water pump. This type of coolant leak could cause engine failure while in operation and an accident.
I pulled in to traffic and all of a sudden the truck went into limp mode. I barely missed being hit. I pulled up on the median strip with cars going 60 MPH past me. I parked the truck for 30 minutes. The wrench light came on. After sitting for 30 minutes the check engine light came on. I edged off the median and limped the truck to the next exit for a mechanic. The mechanic pulled the code P2112 Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Closed. This was incredibly dangerous and I could have been hit. In checking on line, it appears to be a common problem that FORD knows about and it should be a recall!!
