Coolant leak through the gasket into a cylinder so now I need a new head gasket. When I start my car, it starts to shake and don’t accelerate. I just got my turbo done in April because of the same issues.
On August 25th 2025 we were driving the vehicle on the freeway at 55 MPH and upon acceleration the vehicle started to decelerate and the check engine light came on. The vehicle would not go over 10 MPH at this point. We took it to the dealership to have the issue addressed. They told us that the issue was a misfire in cylinder #3. They told us the vehicle will need to relearn the firing order and for the next 2 weeks the vehicle was rough idling upon startup. We called the dealership to make an appointment to have that issue addressed and took the vehicle back to the dealership. On September 10 we were told by the dealership the head gasket is blown. We were told that they are seeing that this is becoming a more common issue with the engine of this year model vehicle.
I attempted to start my vehicle's engine normally and the engine made a rough cranking sounded and then finally started. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages immediately after: Emission system problem/avoid heavy acceleration and high speed/see your dealer, tire pressure monitor system problem/check tire pressure/see your dealer, brake system problem/brake performance may be reduced/see your dealer, brake hold system problem/apply brake when stopped/see your dealer, electric power steering system problem/steering assist reduced/see your dealer, vehicle stability assist system problem/reduced traction and handling/see your dealer, hill start assist problem/vehicle may roll upon brake release/see your dealer, adaptive cruise control system problem/see your dealer, collision mitigation braking system problem/see your dealer, road departure mitigation system problem/see your dealer. Car has 60,675 miles with a blown head gasket. Prior to blown head gasket vehicle was brought to Honda in April 2025 for overheating, rough start and leaking coolant and was told fuel pump had a recall so it was changed, Honda did the recall repairs, performed oil change and checked everything else and released the car in working order but a week later after adding 175 miles more to the car it started overheating and had a rough start, the car was immediately brought back to Honda and they said it was a blown head gasket, the car was driven home that same day and left in the driveway undriven until September 3rd 2025 when it was towed to a different Honda dealership where it was confirmed to be blown head gasket and the cost is estimated at $6800 to repair. Upon commuting to work, the car failed to accelerate causing the car to almost suddenly stop while driving; at the same time of the failure warning lights and beeping occurred. No warnings prior to failure. By God’s grace, I was not yet on the expressway and avoided what would have been a horrible accident jeopardizing not only my life but the lives of anyone that would have been behind me. Head gasket between cylinders 2 and 3 blown, despite regular maintenance being completed by Honda dealerships. This issue has caused vehicle to go into "limp mode" while on the highway leading to safety concerns. This problem has been confirmed by not only a Honda dealer repair shop but also an independent repair shop and owners. There were not warning prior to the failure. Per the dealership, this is not something that could be caught during regular maintenance and inspections.

Car stalled/went into limp mode in the middle of turning onto a busy road almost hit by oncoming traffic. Check engine light came on, as well as all other warnings. Ran diagnostics and show fuel running lean and cyl 2 misfire. Checked all other possible issues related to codes and all signs point to bad fuel injectors.
I was merging onto the freeway and my car went into limp mode. I was lucky enough to pull over to the side because I was on the far right lane. I currently own a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L 4 cylinder with only 62,800 miles at the start of the issue. Around the end of July 2025 the car started to jerk. Have had several misfires, nothing would fix it. Dealership looked at it and said the injectors needed to be replaced. Replaced injectors and still had misfire issues. Car is consuming coolant, and there is exhaust is the cooling system. Meaning blown head gasket.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord EX with 104,000 miles. Head gasket blew and coolant is leaking. Upon further research this is a common problem that is now being discovered once the car drives past 60,000 miles. There is an internal memo asking dealers to let them know if they are seeing this too online. Honda has several class action law suits regarding this being a design flaw of the 2018 with the 1.5 liter engine. I spoke with Honda and they offered no assitance, stating out of warranty and no recall. This is their design issue and in my opinion responsible for repairing this. Otherwise out of pocket its a 5k plus repair.
my 2018 Honda Accord is having major engine problems. Earlier this year all of the lights were coming on, 7 of them at a time, and that happened for a few weeks before it started overheating. If I was driving over 50mph, it wouldn't overheat, but if I was driving slow or idling, it was overheating within minutes. After having the fuel pump recall completed on my Honda Accord, I began experiencing serious engine problems that I had not had before the recall repair. Shortly afterward, my vehicle developed a blown head gasket, coolant leaking into the engine, and turbo issues. These failures occurred outside of my extended warranty (which has also since expired), but they started only after the recall work was performed. I contacted my dealership and Honda corporate for assistance through a goodwill request, but they denied coverage, stating I am outside of warranty and they cannot determine fault. I got this car April 2024. By December I went to the Honda dealer for the recall even though nothing was wrong with the car. After December, when I got the recall fast forward to February. My engine is stalling. I could be pulling out my driveway and it’s stalling. I could be going 10 MPH and it’s stalling. Blown head gasket at 82,673 miles. Complete loss of power on the interstate traveling 70mph. This was after replacing all the injectors in April at 79065 miles. Same loss of power while attempting to merge into interstate. All maintenance was performed as scheduled.
While driving my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, I experienced sudden coolant loss and engine overheating. Blown head gasket
The engine coolant began to leak into the cylinders of the engine. The engine began to overheat in the middle of the freeway. I had to shutdown the car down and get it towed. The car is available for inspection. Yes, my safety was at risk. Diagnostics from the dealership indicated that the problem is a design flaw with the head gasket being too thin. There were no indications that the car was going to stall until after it stalled. Honda is putting our lives at risk by allowing citizens to drive a car that has an engine become locked/stall/overheat by design and without warning.
Car went into Limp mode, immediately brought to a Honda dealership. Planet Honda in NJ. Misfire in cylinder 3. Causation of misfire was a defect head gasket allowing coolant to flow into cylinder 3 causing a vehicle shut down and $3625 in repair costs. Warranty covered it but I have heard many other cases with this have not.
While accelerating uphill approximately 65 mph the car suddenly started to shutter and slow down to 35 mph. I forced me to move rapidly over to the right lane on a busy highway almost getting hit by a semi truck. Luckily I was able move to the shoulder and park the vehicle. On the morning of July 26, 2025, while returning home from a grocery shopping trip, my vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of power while traveling on an interstate highway with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. Without warning, the car ceased to accelerate and began to decelerate rapidly. I immediately activated my hazard lights and attempted to locate a safe area to stop. Vehicles traveling behind and alongside me were forced to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no accident occurred, though the situation clearly presented a significant risk of one. Hi I just drive my car for about an 1hr and start losing power and a white smoke coming out the muffle I think the head gasket bad.
Honda has known for years that the 1.5L engines installed in 2018 or newer Honda Accords have issues with oil dilution causing major catastrophic engine failures, head gasket damage, fluids leaking into the cylinders, and costly repairs to cars with less than 86000 miles on them. Honda Corporation needs to address this concern before someone dies when the cars engine fails on the highway. My vehicles engine failed on a major road when I pushed on the gas peddle and had no power due to these concerns. Dealership stated numerous vehicles are coming in with these concerns right now which begs the question that it is not a one off situation but a failure of Honda Corporation.
While attempting to pass a slower vehicle in my 2018 Honda Accord with a 1.5L engine, the suddenly lost power and stalled down to 20 mph while I was alongside the other vehicle. This unexpected power loss put my life and the lives of others at serious life threatening risk. I immediately brought the care to a Honda dealership, where the tech was able to reproduce the issue. The performed a borescope inspection and confirmed that coolant was present inside one of the cylinders, indicating a failed cylinder head gasket. Car had a rough start one morning. The engine light came on. All safety features were disabled. I took it to the car dealership that same day (sunset Honda San Luis Obispo California) they got back to me and said the car had head gasket failure. The dealership was the only person to do any meaningful mechanical work ( I did the oil changes) including transmission fluid and coolant changes spark plugs, belt sand valve adjustments etc. car is driven lightly as a daily commuter for work
All lights on head dash are on , all components are not working properly or effected because of this. The head gasket on my car blew before 150,000 miles. I had my car repeatedly serviced to include the recall for the fuel tank. I had to replace fuel injectors in a head gasket on this vehicle.
2018 Honda Accord 1.5T EX trim and I had a head gasket completely blown at around 82,600 miles. I, alongside with many many other 1.5T Accord owners, am experiencing this head gasket issue for such a low milage vehicle and it is simply inacceptable and Honda seems to be entirely ignoring this widespread, recurring problem on this engine. Reaching out and file a report in hopes of getting this to Honda's attention so they can address this asap. It has been 7 years since this problem and nothing has changed, which is not okay.

Well to start I had to replace my head gasket already last winter at 59K miles and for awhile now I had warning lights on my dash for CMBS system failure and cruise control/steering wheel controls don’t work besides the ones for music. No lane assist, none of those safety features work at all and haven’t for awhile
2/24/2025 Safety Recall work performed at Honda Marin; change Fuel Pump per recall. 4/28/2025 I reported vehicle stalling/misfiring, decelerating on its own and all lights keep coming on as a result of Fuel Pump change. Marin Honda performed cleaning of battery cables; technician claims nothing is wrong with the car. [XXX] car stalled at intersection, I went back to Honda Marin and reported vehicle is still having the same previous issues and complained that this is dangerous to have the car automatically decelerated on its own. This time I requested only for a diagnostic from Honda Marin. They spoke to my mom, who was not authorized to approve any work on my car, stated no blown head gaskets but mis-firing on cylinder 3, fixed the issue, passed pressure test(s), no leaks; and car was up to factory specks costs $2812.77 charged to my mom. 6/03/2025 brought car back to Honda...
Doesn’t run as it should,all lights and warnings show on the dash
July 10th Honda went into limp mode as I accelerated would not drive over 20. Check engine light flashed on then off. Have taken car in several times no codes can be read. Believe it’s cylinder issues or fuel possible head gasket. All vehicle lights has displayed haven’t been able to get reads once car is turned off. Too many issues with no repair fix.
I never was informed about the fuel pump recall , all the lights on my car came on , acceleration was slower , car was jerking , and when taking it to Honda they stated 2 of my cylinders has a misfire and water or coolant leaked and blew my head gasket , the car never ran hot and the guy asked did any light come on and I told him for some old reason every light on the dash was on and the car is vibrating while even in park reverse and when it's moving . There are 10 warning lights currently on the dash. This is and has been an ongoing issue for over a year. Turning off the car then turning it back on the lights would go away. The car would periodically start to slow on its own while foot was still on the gas pedal which was dangerous in the middle of traffic or going 65 to 70 miles per hour on a highway. I went to enter the highway and the car would not accelerate and the check engine light was flashing and went into a limp mode. I got it looked at it it was giving me the misfire code for cylinder 2. I paid over $1k and had all the spark plugs replaced and coils. It was fine and then 6 days later it happened again. The mechanic looked at it pressurized with the bore scope and saw coolant. Then we knew it was the head gasket. This is crazy especially with Hondas being known for reliability. I’m at 87k miles and have been seeing that this happening to many others.
Dashboard lit up with a lot of lights and stuff
All of the lights in the dash came on . We took it to Honda , at first they said it was the coils and spark plugs. I had them replaced , the same thing happened again the computer read that it was misfiring on one of the cylinders . They kept it and ran several tests . They then tried to say that it the result of a bad oil change but we knew better. After about a month they said that it had over heated and blown the head gasket . I ended up having to use my warranty and pay a deductible.
