A/C STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR INTERMITTENTLY AT ABOUT 45K. BUT NOTICED A/C WASN'T AS COLD. WHEN SHOWED TO DEALER, ADVISOR RAN A/C AND SAID ITS OK. AT 60K MILES , NO A/C, JUST WARM AIR. TOOK IT TO A/C STORE , THEY FOUND LEAK AND TOLD US MOST OF THE NEW HONDAS WITH THE NEW A/C SYSTEMS ARE HAVING LEAKS BECAUSE OF THE NEW FREON CAUSING ISSUES. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX IT UNDER RECALL.
DEALERSHIP 2019 STATED FUEL INJECTOR PROBLEMS ALL OF THE SENSOR LIGHTING SYSTEMS ARE STILL LIT UP. HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION 12/2019. SINCE THEN CAN NOT UTILIZE THE CRUISE. NOW STATING ITS A TURBO WASTEGATE ISSUE.
2018 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN 2.0 TURBO SPORT. 47,000 MILES ON ODOMETER. FUEL IS MIXING WITH ENGINE OIL UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. CURRENTLY 5K INTO LAST OIL CHANGE AND THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE PRESENT ON THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK ALONG WITH AN ODOR OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DEFROSTER OR HEAT IS TURNED ON.
I WAS BACKING THE VEHICLE SLOWLY IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND IT WAS ACCELERATE ALL OF SUDDEN. THERE WAS A CURB ON THE BACK, BUT IT WENT OVER AND HIT THE TREE. IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL
THE CAR HAD A STRONG SMELL OF FUEL IN CABIN WHEN STARTING ON VARIOUS OCCASSIONS. THE CAR ALSO TEMPORARILY STALLED AND LOST POWER WHEN COMING TO A CORNER TURNING AND ALSO THREE TIMES WHEN COMING OFF THE FREEWAY. THE CAR WAS ALWAYS WARMED UP AND IN CALIFORNIA DURING THE WARM WEATHER. DEALER NOTED FUEL SMELL IN OIL AND INCREASED OIL LEVEL. HAD OIL CHANGED AND WAS TOLD A FIX WAS COMING SOON. TOOK CAR IN TO DEALER MONTHS LATER FOR A RECALL, A BCM RECALL AND AGAIN I TOLD THEM THAT THE OIL SMELLED OF FUEL AFTER 500 MILES SINCE OIL CHANGE. WAITING FOR MANAGER TO CALL ME BACK WITH UPDATE ON FIX. IT IS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD 1.5 LITR TURBO. 26,000 MILES ON MOTOR. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THE DEALER IN JANUARY 2020.
IT SEEMS THAT MY REMOTE STARTER IS CAUSING ERRORS. OCCASIONALLY WHEN I USE IT DURING COLD WEATHER. I TRY TO START REMOTELY AND IT STARTS FOR A SECOND AND THEN CUTS OFF. I GET IN AND NOTICE SEVERAL MAINTENANCE ALARMS TELLING ME TO SEE A DEALER WHEN I START THE NORMAL WAY. ALL SAFETY FEATURES SEEM TO BE DISABLED BUT STILL DRIVEABLE.THE ONLY WAY TO ERASE THESE CODES IS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. THEN I CAN GO SEVERAL TIMES WITH OUT IT HAPPENING AGAIN. I TOOK TO DEALERS AND THEY FOUND NO ISSUES, I TOLD THEM TO JUST REPLACE THE BATTERY, EVEN THOUGH THAT WASNT RECOMMENDED. I THOUGHT IT HELPED, BUT THEN THE ISSUED OCCURRED AGAIN A WEEK LATER. IT IS SCHEDULED TO BE LOOK AT BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE HAD REPLACED THE BATTERY. ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKES INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAILURE CODE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO EXCEED 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE DEALER CALLED THE CONTACT AND THE CONTACT EXPLAINED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT FUEL INJECTION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVER 36,000 MILES...
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING. CAR STOPS ACCELERATING I LIMP OVER TO THE MEDIAN. I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. THE CAR HAS A SOLID CHECK ENGINE ON ALONG WITH ALL THE ASSISTING LIGHTS ON. THE CAR ACCELERATES LIKE NORMAL AND WHEN I GET HOME I DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND EVERYTHING CLEARS ONCE I RECONNECT. IN ANOTHER INSTANCE I GO TO TURN MY CAR ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON BUT THE VEHICLE WON'T GO PAST 1500 RPMS AND IT'S BASICALLY IN LIMP MODE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN TO GO ALONG WITH ROAD DEPARTURE SYSTEM, VEHICLE STABILITY SYSTEM, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING, BRAKE SYSTEM, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, HILL START ASSIST, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL , COLLISION MITIGATION AND EMISSION SYSTEM WARNINGS ALL LIGHT UP. I DID THE SAME THING DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND AGAIN THEY ALL GO...
PURCHASED IN MAY 2019. CURRENTLY < 50,000 MILES. ALL SERVICE PERFORMED AT HONDA DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO BEGAN TO NOTICE GASOLINE SMELL IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT, THOUGH IT WAS COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE/OTHER VEHICLES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LAST WEEK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, WAS TOLD THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, CYLINDER 3 ISSUE. LAST RESORT WAS TO DO A FUEL INJECTOR CLEANING SERVICE, HAD THAT DONE. TWO DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. I AM NOT CONVINCED THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS THAT REQUIRED A RECALL FOR MANY 2018 ACCORDS WITH 2.0T ENGINES ARE NOT ALSO IMPACTING 1.5T ENGINES.
ENGINE KNOCKS AND HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING ESPECIALLY UPHILL. OCEAN HONDA IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA HAS CHECKED, DID DRIVE TESTS AND KEPT MY CAR FOR 2 WEEKS AND ASSURED ME THE KNOCKING AND HESITATION WERE GONE. THEY EVEN INSISTED THEY DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY KNOCKING NOR HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING AND DRIVING UPHILL. IT ALWAYS DOES BOTH AND NEVER WENT AWAY.
ON 10/29/2020, WHILE CHANGING LANES, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY CUT THE POWER AND SLAMMED THE BRAKES, WHILE FLASHING "BRAKE" ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THERE WERE NO VEHICLE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY IN THE LANE IN TO WHICH THE CHANGE WAS PERFORMED. THE RADAR SENSOR ON THE VEHICLE HAS PREVIOUSLY CAUSE A NUMBER OF ISSUES AND THIS WAS AN EXTREME CASE OF THE CMBS (COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKE SYSTEM) REACTING IMPROPERLY. THE VEHICLE DECELERATION WAS ABRUPT TO THE POINT OF POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE INCOMING TRAFFIC IN THE NEW LANE IMPACTING THE VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. HONDA'S REPRESENTATIVES HAD SWORN LAST WINTER, WHEN THE RADAR SENSOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED TO THE POINT OF CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT CASCADED TO SEVERAL OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEMS THAT "ISSUES WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN." THAT WAS A LIE. THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED EXCESSIVE GAS/OIL SMELL HALFWAY THROUGH THE OIL CHANGE CYCLE EVEN WHEN THE MAINTENANCE MINDER SHOWS 70% OIL LIFE. DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. SUDDENLY, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND VEHICLE ABRUPTLY AND QUICKLY DECELERATED FROM 65 TO 20 MPH, FORCING ME TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. 2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 ABOUT 1800 MILES ON IT. THE CAR SHIFTS VERY ROUGH IN THE FIRST 3-4 GEARS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. ALSO HAPPENS AT TIMES WHEN ITS WARMER. ONE DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT WITH A HONDA APPROVED BREAK-IN PROCEDURE. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. IT HAS HAPPENED EACH DAY I DRIVE THE CAR SINCE I FIRST GOT IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO.

THEY CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, JUST SHIRK EACH OTHER'S RESPONSIBILITY! IT IS VERY DISTRACTING, I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME IT'S THE SPEAKERS, BUT WHY WOULD IT STOP WHEN THE WINDOW IS OPEN. HONDA OF NEW ROCHELLE (25 E MAIN ST, NEW ROCHELLE, NY 10801, (888) 905-3762) SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT "TRICK" THE VEHICLE BY PUTTING ON HER SEAT BELT AND SHIFTING INTO DRIVE. THE HEAT STARTED TO WORK; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CALLED BACK ONE MONTH LATER AND STATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. I GOT MY HONDA ACCORD SPORT ON NOVEMBER 30 2018 WITH 8 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THAT THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THE CAR. I ALSO NOTICED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN THE DASH WAS NOT REACHING 'ENGINE TEMPERATURE. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER HONDA OF NEW ROCHELLE, COMPLAINING OF NO HEAT WHILE IDLING. I WAS TOLD TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE WITH MY SEATBELTS AND BRAKES ON TO TRICK IT' THAT SEEMED TO WORK. A WEEK LATER IT STARTED TO GET TO ENGINE TEMPERATURE WHILE IDLING WITHOUT TRICKING IT. A WEEK LATER WHILE IDLING THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF NEVER TO START AGAIN. THE VALVES WERE DAMAGED. HONDA REPLACED THE ENGINE THAT ONLY HAD 800 MILES. NOW THEY WANT TO GIVE ME BACK THE CAR WHEN I KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING INHERENTLY DEFECTIVE WITH THE ENGINE DESIGN.
OIL IS SEEPING FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I DO NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THIS COMPONENT. INITIALLY AND SHORTLY AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR NOVEMBER 2018, THERE WAS THE SMELL OF OIL/GAS AROUND THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR. I DO NOT NOTICE IT NOW. I CHECK THE DIPSTICK OIL LEVEL ROUTINELY AND HAD TWO DEALERSHIPS CHECK THE OIL LEVEL; ONE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE OIL. HOWEVER, THE CURRENT OIL LEVEL ON THE DIP STICK INDICATES THAT IT IS OVER-FULL AND THERE IS A SLIGHT SMELL OF GASOLINE ON THE DIPSTICK. THE OIL SEEMS VERY THIN (NOT VISCOUS) AND RUNS QUICKLY OFF OF THE DIPSTICK.
ENGINE OIL SMELLS STRONGLY OF GASOLINE. THIS IS THE SAME 1.5L TURBO GDI ENGINE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ALREADY IN THE CIVIC AND CRV.

NEW HONDA ACCORD 2.0T WITH 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGH AND SLOW FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED ON HONDA ACCORD OWNER FORUMS AND ACURA RDX OWNER FORUMS (THE TWO VEHICLES SHARE THE SAME ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE NORMALLY SHIFTS HARD FROM 2ND TO 3RD, BUT OCCASIONALLY IT IS VERY SLOW TO ENGAGED 3RD GEAR AND THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR. IT'S VERY STRANGE HOW IT FEELS. IT CAN CAUSE THERE TO BE A HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND FEELS LIKE IT'S DAMAGING THE TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO LEITH HONDA OF RALEIGH WHO ADVISED THERE'S NO TSB OR CAMPAIGN FROM HONDA TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THERE IS HOWEVER A VIDEO THAT ACURA HAS POSTED FOR THEIR SERVICE TECHNICIANS ADVISING THEM TO FOLLOW A "CLUTCH BREAK IN PROCEDURE" TO RESOLVE THE ROUGH SHIFTING.

ON A HOT DAY WHILE SITTING STATIONARY IN MY CAR WITH AC RUNNING, I HEARD A 'POP' WITH A FIZZLE SOUND THEN SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE DASH WHERE IT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD. THE FIRST NIGHT I TOOK OWNERSHIP OF CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT BLINKED AND THE CAR LOST POWER, AND BECAME A BRICK. HAD TO TURN CAR THE OFF, START IT, AND BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY.
