2018 HONDA ACCORD Forward Collision Avoidance Adaptive Cruise Control Problems

My car is having the head gasket issue which caused an issue while driving.

The car will have all lights on dashboard showing, car has been taken multiple times to dealership and nothing seems to be wrong but this cause all safety features to malfunction. I have talked with other Honda owners, on forums and acquaintances and they have similar issues.

These also are warning signals that keep coming on I took it to AutoZone obd scanner said is was misfire cylinder2got spark plug changed and engine coil still showing same thing on scanner

The warning lights for many areas has come on without warning. The car runs and drives fine. Took it to Honda. They want between 500 - 2500 to resolve the issue and replace the front radar. This appears to be a consistent problem for these 2018 Hondas. I already had to have the fuel injectors replaced at 48k miles. Another common Honda problem. Please help us as consumers

The issue first appeared during my initial test drive before purchase in 2019. The salesman stated it was a low-battery issue from the car sitting on the lot. Since then, the same problem has recurred multiple times. When it is cold outside my ACC light comes on and when I started my car the other day it read Emissons Service Problem Avoid Heavy Acceleration and High Speed. That was just 1 among 7 other service warning that popped up.

I was driving on a four-lane highway using adaptive cruise control, gaining on a vehicle ahead. When the cruise control picked up the vehicle, I accelerated slightly, used left turn signal and began changing lanes, the warning for collision mitigation came on and the cruise control disengaged. Continued driving home and the warning continued, and cruise control would not function. Next time used the car the warning light was off, and system functioned properly.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) This has been ongoing since i had the car and have taken to dear ship several times and they say it to happen, so they get the messages and the messages are there. I look it on google and there have several complaints about this issue and i have Honda and they are very rude about it, I have even call here and the young pay no mine what soever told me to call Honda I need mt=y problem resolve please, I am scared to drive my out state , I am [XXX] and live in North Carolina and these people cannot drive. If car is idling for over 1 minute, all lights on dash come on. When all lights on, car wont wont go over mph, car will randomly sputter in highway when going over 1rpm and will stall randomly. Reported on reddit by multiple people and when I went in to get it diagnosed it was the fuel injector issue

Honda Accord 1.5 TURBO, Head Gasket Blown for the second time in 2 years. The problem has been reproduce by dealer and independent service center. The car shakes when you turn on the car, first indication. I had been driving down highway and all of a sudden my car put on brakes hard. Thank goodness no one was behind me. I had dealer turn off that feature so it wouldn't happen again. I still experience my brake light flashing when nothing in road to brake for but doesn't brake on its own. Issue having now is issues starting car and once it starts I recieved a collision mediations issue pop-up on display saying see dealer now. Cruise control issue, and on dash has traction control saying ignitionating continue driving. The braking issue started right after purchase in 2018. The starting issue started yesterday 7/25/2025.

I was behind another vehicle with the adaptive cruise control on and been following the for some distance at a speed below the cruise control setting. Warning came on for the braking mitigation, cruise control disengaged, vehicle began coasting but did not brake. I continued home driving without any other changes, but warning stayed on. After arriving turned vehicle off and restarted, Warning did not come back on. I have not driven vehicle since. I checked and found other reports of similar problems and am filing this report. Will continue driving with extra caution and report any other occurrences.

Well to start I had to replace my head gasket already last winter at 59K miles and for awhile now I had warning lights on my dash for CMBS system failure and cruise control/steering wheel controls don’t work besides the ones for music. No lane assist, none of those safety features work at all and haven’t for awhile

Car goes in limp mode once the brake system lights come on. When the brake light system comes on, none of the functions for the automatic breaks or electrical portion of my vehicle works. The car will act as if it will not accelerate right before the codes start to appear on the car.

This is about the 5th time this has happened to the car. All warning lights appeared spontaneously while driving. The lights would turn off if the car was turned off for a long period of time or is we disconnected battery for a long period of time. We have tried to research the problem and no one seems to know what the cause or permanent fix is.

The vehicle was totally inoperable and suddenly came to stop was lucky that was driving in a local road where there was no vehicle, suddenly all different warning signs were coming on the dashboard and couldnt drive at all and vehicle was totally stalled. it was very dangerous situation luckliy i was just came off a very busy road otherwise coudl have been major incident. Currently the vehicle is at dealership nto sure what they will say but just wanted to report this as it is very dangerous situation

Power steering is reduced as well as break performance • Confirmed by Honda dealership with a Boroscope • Honda • No warning, Honda at first thought it would be fixed by fixing the factory recalls. Light went away prior to taking it in and then looked in to it 2 weeks later and diagnosed head gasket failure

Warning lights come all across the dash stating to see the dealer. I have taken it to the dealership and the issue is the fuel injector that causes the warning lights to go off and on at random. I still have a warranty of my car and was told the warranty does not cover that part. This is happening to a lot of honda accords but there is no recall for it. There is a safety issue for driving because they stay on and then go off and come back on again. This is unfortunate and unacceptable from Honda as a whole. I bought the car in May 2024 and the warning lights came on a week later and have been ever since off and on.

While driving on the interstate, suddenly got 6 different ‘warning’ messages on the dashboard. Most of them involved the brakes. Emergency brake malfunction, brake hold malfunction, forward collision malfunction, adaptive cruise control malfunction, brake system malfunction (use of brakes may be reduced), and road departure mitigation malfunction.

The car is braking even when there is no obstacle or vehicle ahead. I have not driven at higher speed but I fear that if that happens, it can cause incident and injury.

Failure in road monitoring camera prematurely, 70,000 ish miles

I recently took my car to the dealer because I have multiple messages on my dashboard saying please see dealer dealing with my brake system, electric power steering, vehicle ability assist, collision mitigation system problem, etc the dealers don’t know what’s going on with it. I recently had service done on it because of the recall with the fuel pump and even before that those messages were showing up.

Getting a dash warning that all mitigation systems are not working and to see my dealership

Cam position sensor on bank 1 went out at 75k miles. Causing the vehicle to go into a sort of limp mode. The only way the issue was temporary fixed was if the battery was unplugged and plugged in again and the engine was up to operating temperature.

Everyday the vehicles struggles to pick up on speed and stalls out. I am often holding up traffic because I’m driving to slow. I have to very very very slowly accelerate so that the car doesn’t stall. When the trying to accelerate it often skips and jerks while driving. I often wonder if this will affect me while driving on the interstate. I fear that a bad accident is on the horizon with these issues. Could you please help. I’ve tried multiple times since last December to get the car fixed and Honda refuses to fix my vehicle even though I received a letter in the mail saying more repair parts are available.

Collision Mitigation automatically engaged causing vehicle to brake when unnecessary. Once after excelling from a redlight and again when entering a highway on ramp. After occurring twice in a 6 month period it's now become permanently disabled with dash warnings. Braking System Error. Collision Mitigation Breaking System Error. TPMS Error.

Road departure mitigation cruise control collision mitigation emission systems not working when I drive my car it stalled

Every week the following warning lights keep coming on, brake System problem, vehicle stability assist, electric power steering system, hill start assist, acc, collision mitigation. And engine light. Has happened 6 times since purchase. Been to dealer 2 times and problem has not been addressed. They only fixed recall on fuel pump. Took it to dealer we purchased it from and they didn't do anything to fix problem.

This is the second time in a year and a half, fuel injectors went bad an were replaced and im assuming this time is same issue. The car had a little rough idle . The car throws a check engine light and all other lights on dash come on and vehicle went into a sort of limp mode.. car would not excellerate and all safety items will not work… the injectors went bad at 59000 miles and after being changed at dealer it looks like they are bad again at 78000 miles.. this car is dangerous because of these issues..i am calling dealer on Monday

My 2018 Honda According Touring 1.5 Liter Turbo has an intermittent problem with the vehicle’s warning alerts. The vehicle systems affected include Adaptive Cruise Control, Vehicle Emission System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Vehicle Stability Assistance, Hill Start Assist, Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Blind Spot Info System, and Collision Mitigation System. When I checked online for other 2018 Accords with a similar problem and found numerous cases. The most commonly recommended corrective action was to replace the battery. I tried that. It corrected the problem for two months, but the same multiple systems failure displays have occurred again. Interestingly, none of the systems that could be independently checked (e.g., brakes and TPMS) showed any indication of actually malfunctioning. There are multiple cases online, reported by 2018 Accord owners, of receiving different explanations from Honda dealers as to the cause of the malfunction from rodent damage to problems with the turbocharger....

my car has been severely malfunctioning due to the fuel pump recall. I have had to avoid several accidents due to the loss of power at high speeds, stalling, and sputtering. My car started experiencing these issues last December and I was told by Honda to take it in to be diagnosed (which I did), and then I was told there was no fix or parts at that time because it was due to a faulty fuel pump. When driving at highway speeds the auto has started to brake and the warning brake alert flashes on the dashboard when there are no obstructions. On some occasions the brake warning light comes on even when there are no cars or traffic in front of the auto. Recently the cruise control turned off for no apparent reason.

Driving on expressway going around ramp car started braking at speed of 65mph with no cars in front of me only cars behind cars behind had to hard brake to keep from hitting me . Got off expressway sit at stop light then all of sudden got warning lights on engine system problem , tire pressure monitor system, electric power steering problem, combs problems, adaptive cruise control problem, CMBS problem all stated to take to dealer I just purchased this car

Vehicle stalls upon start on multiple occasions. Vehicle will not start at all on multiple occasions. On approximately February 2024 vehicle sent a warning signal while driving. Warning states vehicle cannot accelerate while driving on the highway, then vehicle slows under traffic speed causing fear of crash while on the highway causing me to pull over and restart vehicle. After restart, vehicle stalled again. Children were present in the vehicle. Called dealer to inform about the issue and was made aware of recall on fuel pump. Dealer does not have parts and will not have parts for recall for months. Called dealers near me periodically over the course of months. All local dealers reported parts will not be available for ongoing months.

While riding down the interstate the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes. There was a semi truck in the lane beside me and for some reason it just applied the brakes and flashed the automatic brake warning sign while using the cruise control. I quickly hit the cancel button on the steering wheel to stop the braking. My lane was completely clear when this occurred. This is not the first time that this has happened. The last time this happened there was no one close to me and the same thing happened.

I have 2018 Honda accord sport 2.0 manual transmission. I’m dealing with the ABS module malfunction where the abs module board is detective due to the pins being unsoldered due to intense heat in the engine area. To repair the ABS module it costs around $1200. But Honda has not made the abs module better. Mechanic states even the new module will not be guaranteed after replacing the module. I need help to get this item recalled. As this issue has been going on for any Honda from 2011-2022 veichels.

Over the past two weeks, I have encountered problems with my car's many lights. 2018 Accord consistently has the warning pop up for the the crash mitigation system and tells me to visit the dealer. Cruise control just stop working while driving. When I turn the car off and back on it resets, and then 10-20 miles goes by and the error pops up again. Incredibly unreliable and unsafe when I’m on the freeway going 70. This has been a constant problem.

All electrical warning lights came on dashboard. This is very frustrating and scary. This needs to be a recall on this vehicle because nothing this serious is normal. I thought my car was falling apart. Honda needs to fix this problem and the owner should not be responsible.

After this car was repaired by the body shop, all the automatic systems in the car started flashing and no one could figure out why. It went to four different repair shops over several months, till finally they convinced me to purchase another vehicle when this one was going to be paid off in two months. This problem was well documented by several repair places , and ultimately since it was unrepairable I had to trade it in and got bottom dollar for a non-running car that I owned since the beginning and got screwed.

The problem began a month or so ago.I had my car diagnosed at the Honda dealership and it has a fuel injector fuel pump issue. All of the vehicle lights are on TPMS engine light brake system light steering light collision mitigation emmission electrical steering hill start assistive cruise control LKAS and brake hold light.My car stalls while driving. It sputters when i start it.When i attempt to excelerate the car is not getting gas and the car wont go. I fear for my safety and the safety of others while driving because the car stalls.
