The Head Gasket is leaking at 135k miles after changing oil and filter every 5k miles and flushing coolant every 50k. Just a cursory internet search will show you how obvious the design defect is in the head bolts of the 1.5 liter turbo engine and they should be recalled.
Blown Head Gasket after taking my car in to Honda cars of Rock Hill SC, I had no issues, only took it to have the Fuel injector recall done, they did a diagnostic nothing came up, they did the fuel injector recall repair, and they asked if they could do the oil change i told them yes, a week later, my car lost power on interstate 77N in rock hill south carolina. I was going about 70 mph and it dropped from 70 to 20 mph in a matter of seconds, i had little time to get out the lane, i could have been killed or killed someone else i was terrified. Every known light on my 2018 honda accord came on, I have a video of the lights on my dashboard. I had it towed back to honda cars of rock hill on 5/30/2025 and was told I had...
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of an unknown recall. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the check engine warning light blinked, and the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was restarted after each failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My 2018 Honda Accord has become unsafe to drive. The car will not go over 15 mph, all the warning lights on the dashboard are on, and the engine and transmission feel shaky. The entire car shakes when I try to drive it, and it seems like multiple systems are failing at once. This happened suddenly and has made the car undriveable. My safety was put at risk because the loss of power happened while I was on the road. The problem has been looked at by my independent mechanic, but it has not been resolved. The vehicle is available for inspection.
Car falls into limp mode in traffic when a misfire is detected. I have had a mechanic investigate the misfire and has determined coolant in the cylinders, indicating a blown head gasket. This is a widely reported problem with this engine and the large number of complaints indicate this is a safety issue caused by Honda.
On 2025-06-12 at about 3:50 PM EST I triggered a remote start command from my phone via the HondaLink app to cool down the car before leaving work. When I went out to the car it had not started. I assumed the command had simply failed, so I returned home and parked in our attached 2-car garage at around 5:10 PM. At about 6:30 PM I opened the door between the house and the garage and heard an engine running. The car was found to have spontaneously started itself. I do not know precisely how long it had been running. It took me a couple seconds to recognize the situation and the danger, and once I realized what had happened I immediately closed the door to prevent carbon monoxide from entering our house. I tried accessing HondaLink to shut down the vehicle remotely but the app gave a message "Services...
The vehicle was totally inoperable and suddenly came to stop was lucky that was driving in a local road where there was no vehicle, suddenly all different warning signs were coming on the dashboard and couldnt drive at all and vehicle was totally stalled. it was very dangerous situation luckliy i was just came off a very busy road otherwise coudl have been major incident. Currently the vehicle is at dealership nto sure what they will say but just wanted to report this as it is very dangerous situation
Faulty/Leaking blown head gasket Causes car to stall
Head gasket failure Causes car to stall
The head gasket is leaking. Yes, the dealer reproduced and diagnosed the problem. There were no lights on the dash. It is available for inspection if needed.
Apparently the coolant is leaking into chamber 2 and 3 and it’s burning it and I need to replace the head gasket. Spoke to and looked up a bunch of other people have had this same issue. It’s causing my car to stutter and it’s scary.
I am writing to report a serious mechanical issue with my 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T that I believe may constitute a design or manufacturing defect with potential safety implications. At approximately 112,000 miles, the engine in my vehicle suffered a blown head gasket, which my mechanic determined was caused by a stretched timing chain. This failure followed roughly nine months of unexplained coolant consumption, during which time no visible leaks were detected. In addition to the coolant loss, the vehicle experienced two separate instances of entering limp mode while driving, creating a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power. Furthermore, during the winter months, I repeatedly lost cabin heat, suggesting early signs of internal engine issues related to coolant circulation or combustion gas intrusion. These symptoms point to a progressive failure that was not addressed by any recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) during my ownership. Given the...
• Head gasket • None of the safety features work when there is a head gasket issue. Power steering is reduced as well as break performance • Confirmed by Honda dealership with a Boroscope • Honda • No warning, Honda at first thought it would be fixed by fixing the factory recalls. Light went away prior to taking it in and then looked in to it 2 weeks later and diagnosed head gasket failure
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle during cold weather, the vehicle hesitated while starting. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently went into LIMP Mode. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a blown head gasket and a GDI injector failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord that has had no major problems until the last 6 months. I purchased the car from Gerald Jones Honda and have had all repairs and maintenance done there with the exception of tire related concerns and occasional oul changes. All the issues I've experienced have been engine related and in the same area of the engine. Consistent leaks, repeated warning lights, and loss of speed. I have replaced fuel injectors, a head gasket, and a turbo in the last 6 months. Despite those repairs, I'm still experiencing leaks and flashing warning lights. Honda currently has my car due to warnings again. They have indicated it is a performance issue but can't locate the problem. Even suggested I continue to drive the car as they have been unable to duplicate what caused it. I told them to keep it because that makes no sense for...
Engine keep going into limp every now and then and it’s pretty dangerous especially while driving on the highway. All the lights would come on the dashboard. On May 2 it almost cause an accident because it happened while I was driving on the freeway and I’ve changed spark plugs, injector my battery and it’s happening
Faulty head gasket that resulted to more engine problems
Bad fuel injectors $2000 Bad head Gasket $5000 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T with 80K miles, well maintained 1-owner
This car had a manufacturer recall for the "fuel pump". I was advised by Honda to go get the car checked by the dealer to evaluate if the issues I was getting were related to the recall. I paid close to $400 to get the car diagnosed and about 3/4 months after that I was told that the part is available for the recall service. I got the repair scheduled at the dealership and got the part replaced. Ever since I got this fuel pump replaced, now the car is struggling to pickup. It looks like a miss fire but it doesn't show any errors on display. In this condition, this car is not safe to drive around as it is skipping the engine thrusts. I have looked at Honda website and other online resources and people are talking about these issues but HONDA hasn't said or done anything about...
The 1000 miles or so, when trying to increase speed, would feel the gears slip between revolutions. I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. On April 19th while going up a hill on a side road, the car stalled and transmission warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted was able to slowly continue up hill at 15 miles per hour with the slipping becoming worse ( this is when I first called Honda to bring it in on Monday April 21.) I was able to arrive to work. After leaving work I pulled out of the parking lot and the car just stalled with all lights and warnings going off from engine to airbag warnings to tire pressure lights going off and dinging. This is when i called a tow truck to...
This vehicle was built terrible. It had a blown head gasket at 86,000 miles. The head was warped. My valve guides and seals were compromised and leaking into the combustion chamber. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.
Took in my vehicle to Rock Honda in Fontana at 125,000 miles for a second fuel pump recall. Two years ago my car stalled on me as I was driving on the freeway, it immediately decelerated from 65 MPH to 40 MPH, this happened before I had the first fuel pump recall fixed. Did the second fuel pump recall, and days later my car again began to decelerate from 50 MPH to 5 MPH. Brought it into the dealer and they told me my head gasket was blown.
Scanned for codes. Found P0303, P0299, and P2243 stored. Found coolant entering cylinder 3. Found excessive play in the waste gate rod and found A/F sensor is not responding. Needs head gasket. Vehicle starts up and runs rough. All alerts on alerts on dash on cust states check engine light on. Honda sensing alerts on.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and shuddered. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were intermittently illuminated. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the spark plugs, and air filters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Apparently the recall was fix with the fuel system, however the car is still losing power as you drive it.
I got a recall notice for my car for fuel pump which I got it fixed but now the dealership is saying I got fuel injector issues with head gasket issues. I have also read online that lot of people are having exactly this problem, their fuel pump injectors are also failing with head gasket on the 2018 Honda Accord and Honda is requesting $2000 in fixes
Head Gasket Leak at 75,000 miles, eventual blown head gasket due to lack of symptoms beforehand
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions, the vehicle lost motive power and was almost rear-ended. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was restarted, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My car started misfire .. all the lights went on the dashboard .. had to get it towed .. headgasket issues
Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 3 misfire (Cylinder 3 misfired multiple times, even after attempts to fix it), and now I have a blown head gasket. On more than three separate occasions, my car has either stopped completely in the middle of the road—sometimes on the highway in the fast lane, with cars traveling 80+ mph behind me, putting my life at significant risk—or it will suddenly drop from the speed of traffic (80+ mph) to under 30 mph in a matter of seconds, out of nowhere. If it weren't for me swerving into an open lane to the right one time, I would have undoubtedly been rear-ended by a car traveling 80 mph. In that instance, my speed went from 0 mph to less than 30 mph in just seconds, which could have easily paralyzed me or even killed me had I hit my head on impact. Though I didn’t...
I am reporting an issue with the fuel injectors on my 2018 Honda Accord. It is a known issue but has no recall. Honda has no replaced the fuel pump on my vehicle yet. I have read of multiple issues with the fuel injectors and/or the head gasket going bad on the Accords. I noticed a knocking sound in my engine and a loss of acceleration power. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they reported an injector failure but it was not covered by Honda. My vehicle has less than 70,000 miles on it at this time. I believe the injectors need to be under a safety recall for the Accords.
I recently took my car to the dealer because I have multiple messages on my dashboard saying please see dealer dealing with my brake system, electric power steering, vehicle ability assist, collision mitigation system problem, etc the dealers don’t know what’s going on with it. I recently had service done on it because of the recall with the fuel pump and even before that those messages were showing up.
Car has 164352 miles and has had a transmission replaced and a head gasket replaced. The head gasket is a known issue from what I have seen and there needs to be a recall. I have read time and time again about these cars needing a head gasket. Please add this to your list. Total repair for transmission, $3600. Total repair today for head gasket, $2913.
As my car falls under this law suit and no legal action has been taken for it, I'm reporting that the Head gaskets for the 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5L are not properly designed for the wear and tear on a 1.5L turbo. I'm not great with describing car and there internal functions, so please refer to the active court case (3:24-cv-02286). This is an on going issue with the 1.5L Accords and is well known by the company. This issue typically comes with a ~$4500 replacement of the Head Gasket. In my case, I also head to replace 2 injectors that the dealer ship was saying were read as feeding rich. A common diagnostic that can also be caused by Coolant Leaks. These problems causes my car to flare every warning light available. I have no heat from the heater. My car sometimes won't shift or go into gear....
Gasket headed
Engine can randomly blow a turbo of head gasket while traveling on freeway making you stranded in middle of the freeway and disable all the safety features while doing so. Extremely danger
The components and systems that are failing and malfunctioning in my 2018 Honda Accord are the engine, head gasket, fuel, injectors and turbo. While in motion, the car jerks and has issues with acceleration requiring the safety hazard lights to be come on and I’m unable to keep up with marked speed limit while traveling due to the sluggishness of the vehicle. The majority of these issues have been confirmed by a Honda dealership as well as another car shop. There are several warning and safety hazard lights that come on and go off the dashboard. Many times, I have to pull on the side of the road due to not being able to drive this vehicle.
While waiting for the recalled parts to be in stock for the fuel pump module, my car starting running rough and going into limp mode several times a day. Thus causing near accidents with my children in the vehicle. After getting the fuel pump module recall fixed I asked and had to pay for a diagnostics test to see what was causing the car to do this. We were told it was the fuel injectors and were quoted $2000 to replace those. That was done 4 days ago at the dealer, and it happened again yesterday! We took the car back to the dealer today and they have just informed us we need to replace the head gasket & turbo and had a coolant leak causing these issues?! Why that was never seen in the original diagnostics test nor a problem 4 days ago, but after spending $2000 we did...
Three times, while driving, the car went into limp mode and would not accelerate. Had to pull over, turn car off, and back on to fix the issue. Have had it looked at and they have mentioned engine coils and a new control module. Had it at the dealership in January and they did their full inspection and to fix fuel pump recall and didn’t mention any issues regarding this.
February 2025 All the warning light on in my car came on. I took it Honda where they had me pay $250 for a diagnostics. At 85K miles, that's when I found out a had a blown head gasket and need a replacement. They also suggested a new fuel injector. They quoted me $7,000. My warranty just expired. This was my car and I didn't know anything about warranties and renewals. I always go to go Honda for my services and I had just visited a few weeks prior and they didn't see anything wrong my car. The Honda service guy told me to car it to the nearest Carfax because my car and sell it. I was so distraught. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the money to pay for this.
July 2023 my overheated took it to Honda dealership in Memphis tn on covington pike after 3 days it was diagnosed with head gasket failure I paid 5000 to get that fixed not including a faulty air compressor fixed in 2021 costing 1000 so while traveling [XXX] it overheats and guess what the engine starts knocking and white smelly smokes starts coming out the tail pipe wow it's not drivable we're in Missouri on the side of the road stranded guess gaskets had blown while driving a bomber and guess what we had pay 500 for a tow truck to tow us back to Marion ar because the 1.5t engines [XXX] and im constantly buying coil packs and spark plugs this my third complaint I'm tired of spending my hard earned money and nothing is being done fix it Honda INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),...
Christmas Tree dashboard with all lights on appeared a few weeks ago. Took car to auto shops twice. First time I was told coil 1 for cylinder 1 was misfiring, replaced with new coil. Lights did not go away, got my codes read again and was same error message of coil 1 misfire. In the past week car would not accelerate past 15mph after start up. I was immediately concerned it was a head gasket issue since that is a very known defect for my exact make and model of vehicle. Took into my Honda Dealership where I purchased my Accord brand new. Was just told Fuel injectors need to be replaced even though vehicle has been maintained properly. To me this seems this is directly correlated with the current fuel pump recall issue, I asked the service advisor if that was the case and she said she’d get back...
Head gasket replacement Fuel injectors replacement Driving my car started sputtering and jumping. I took to Honda South to get it diagnosed. I was told it needed fuel injectors and a head gasket. Also to get other things done since the engine will taken apart (drive belt, timing belt, water pump). I started a conversation with a service mechanic in the lobby and told him my issue. He told me the 1.5 turbo engine has problems with the head gaskets and they see a lot of them.
I was driving to college all of a sudden the car went into limp mode. Before I could do anything I called Honda and they didn’t answer so I personally drove it to the Honda dealership 10 minutes away from me. They inspected the vehicle and told me the head gasket has been blown. The car has been garage kept never abused and they are charging me $6,100 for the repairs. It’s been a common issue for the 1.5t engine of the Honda accord and they have yet to acknowledge their manufacture defect. Please do something about this I have to pay for college how in the world am I gonna have money to pay $6,100 for a repair cost.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling rough when started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was made aware of misfires in cylinders #1 and #4. The contact was informed that the coil packs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving 65 MPH on Interstate 75, the vehicle lost power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact merged to the side of the road to exit the interstate. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with misfires in cylinders #1 and #4, and the coil packs needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the contact of the recall for the fuel pump, and the vehicle was repaired for the most recent failure, and the recall...
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving on two occasions, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate above 45 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The dealer then diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the head gasket needed to be replaced again. The contact stated that the vehicle was at the dealer for over 10 days. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
My car is having the same issue as the new recall on the 2023-2025 Honda Pilot sport utility vehicles (SUVs), 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S SUVs and 2021-2025 with the power loss and my car is stalling. Sometimes when I turn my car on, put it in drive, impress my gas pedal it will not go. I have to cut my car off, wait for about 30 seconds, restart it and then it will go.I took my car to Honda in Tifton Ga and I was told that it was my fuel injector. I was given code P0301 from Langdale Honda in Valdosta ga. I was quoted $1600 to fix this issue which I do not have. I’m currently having this issue and I’m sure it’s many others.
My Accord HG Issue Well my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5t that I’ve owned for not even 2yrs and | bought it with 54k and now has only 59k on it and has started acting up the last few weeks!!! It went into limp mode once a few weeks ago outta nowhere and just shut my car off and so I then turned it off and back on and it reset. Well fast forward a week later and limp mode again and so l hooked it up to a OBD scanner and said misfire cylinder 3 so l replaced the spark plugs and at that point. I then noticed the oil was low and due for a change and it smelled like straight gas. So drove a lil bit and limp mode again and again it said misfire cylinder 3!!! So then I decided to swap the coil pack and...
My 2018 Accord Sport 1.5 blew the head gasket at 118,000 miles. I've always taken good care of the car—it's never been damaged or abused, and I’ve used the highest quality engine oil for every oil change at 10k miles, even though Mobile claims it can last up to 25k miles. One morning, on my way to work, I started experiencing a misfire as I pressed the gas when the light turned green. Suddenly, the car lost all power, and I had to turn on my hazards and coast to the shoulder. After turning off the engine and waiting a few minutes, I was able to start it again and barely make it to work. I initially suspected a bad spark plug or coil pack, so I replaced all four plugs and coil packs. The fix worked for a day, but then the misfiring returned. The code was reading “cylinder...
