NHTSA Complaint #11639577 — 2018 HONDA ACCORD

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving on two occasions, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate above 45 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The dealer then diagnosed the vehicle and informed the contact that the head gasket needed to be replaced again. The contact stated that the vehicle was at the dealer for over 10 days. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
