FORD SENT OUT A PRE RECALL LETTER A MONTH AGO BUT THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT. YESTERDAY AFTER I STARTED MY CAR I WENT TO TAKE MY CAR OUT OF PARK, THE GEAR SHIFT MOVES BUT THE CAR DOESN'T ACTUALLY GO TO ANOTHER GEAR. THE TRANS SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING NEEDS REPLACING. FORD DOESN'T HAVE A FIX FOR IT AND THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I LITERALLY HAVE TO GO WITHOUT A CAR UNTIL THE GET S PART WHICH I HEARD WAS THE MIDDLE OF NEXT YEAR.

THE DEALER REFUSED TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR FOR FREE, STATING THAT THE RECALL WAS A PRELIMINARY NOTICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE CONTACT NOT HAVING THE FUNDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND BE REIMBURSED WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,430.

ON AUGUST 20TH, 2018 I PREPARED TO PARK MY FORD FUSION SE. I PULLED FORWARD ALIGNING THE CAR WITH THE PARKING SPACE. I PLACED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT STICK IN REVERSE. I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL. INSTEAD OF THE CAR GOING BACKWARDS IN REVERSE THE CAR MOVED FORWARD AS IN DRIVE. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO PEOPLE OR PROPERTY IN FRONT ME. HAD THERE BEEN A PERSON IN FRONT OF ME, MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE RUN OVER THEM POSSIBLY CAUSING SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. THE CAR COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE A MECHANIC STATED THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE BUSHING IN THE TRANSMISSION CABLE THAT HAD TO LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH WEAR TO CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO BREAK. FORD PRESENTS THIS AS A BENIGN PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO FAIL TO SHIFT INTO PARK. MY EXPERIENCE WAS THE...

I PULLED IN TO A PARKING SPACE AND PLACED MY VEHICLE IN PARK, AS I WAS GETTING READY TO EXIT MY CAR THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, I CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS IN DRIVE. I CHECKED TO ASSURE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY AND PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON. I WAS PANICKED THAT MY CAR WAS STILL IN MOTION AND COULD HAVE IT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, OR A PERSON IN THE PARKING LOT OR MYSELF. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER REMOVED THE PARKING BREAK THE CAR WAS STILL OUT OF GEAR AND THE OPEN DOOR KNOCKED HIM OFF BALANCE. I INITIALLY CALLED ON 724/2018, INCIDENT# 1256726. I HAD AN ISSUE WHERE MY CAR WAS PLACED IN PARK, BUT CAR THOUGHT IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. FOUND OUT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (MANUFACTURER RECALL#18S20). I ALSO REACHED OUT TO FORD MOTORS, WHO ADVISED TO WAIT UNTIL CAR DIAGNOSED AND SEE WHAT REALLY CAUSED THE ISSUE. PER THE AUTONATION FORD DEALERSHIP THAT WORKED ON MY CAR, IT WASN'T THE EXACT SAME CAUSE AS THE RECALL, BUT THE EFFECT WAS THE SAME THAT THE CAR NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR IT WAS ACTUALLY PLACED IN... GEAR SHIFT STOPPED WORKING, BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, THEN ENGINE WOULDN'T START, AS CAR ALREADY THOUGHT IT WAS IN DRIVE. MY 2015 FORD FUSION HAS DIFFICULTY CHANGING GEARS WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND, THEN SECOND TO THIRD. ALSO, ROUGH SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS WHEN I MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND THE CAR DID NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. I PUT IT BACK INTO PARK, THEN INTO REVERSE AGAIN AND IT SHIFTED. I DRIVE IT HOME, VERY SLOWLY, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. FORD CORPORATE IS INVOLVED, AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF ME ASKING FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, AND THEY HAVE NOT INFORMED ME OF A CONCLUSIVE DECISION ON WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO. I AM AFRAID FOR MY LIFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE, AND HAVE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD CORPORATE SO MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CAR ISN'T GENERATING ANY CODES, AND THEY HAVE, SO FAR, REFUSED TO PUT...
THERE IS A SHIFT LAG BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR COLD OR HOT, ESPECIALLY WITH GRADUAL ACCELERATION. FORD REPLACED THE SHIFT SOLENOID, WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY RECEIVE AN SSM FORD TO THE EFFECT THAT IT WAS NORMAL TO HAVE THIS ISSUE.

2015 FORD FUSION- AFTER SITTING FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN ON UNTIL MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE BATTERY IS GOOD. NO JUMP IS REQUIRED. VEHICLE WILL GO FROM NO POWER ON THE FIRST ATTEMPTED START TO MANAGING TO POWER ON WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES. WHILE IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SWITCH GEARS APPROPRIATELY. THE ENGINE WILL REV, PULL, AND THEN SWITCH GEARS VERY ROUGHLY. THIS HAS BEEN LOOKED AT BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT OCCURRENCE. MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS IS COMMON IN NEWER FORDS.
WRENCH LIGHT IS ON ONCE I START THE CAR (STILL IN PARK) IN DRIVEWAY. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 50 FEET AND I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ONCE I HIT THE GAS TO ACCELERATE MY CAR DOES NOT GO FORWARD AND IF IT DOES IT WILL SLOWLY JUT FORWARD, REPEATS THIS ACTION OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ONCE CAR IS RESTARTED THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNS OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED THREE SEPERATE TIMES ABOUT TWO TO THREE MONTHS APART EACH TIME. FORD CLAIMS THEY ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. VERY SCARY TO TURN IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CAR IS GOING TO ACTUALLY ACCELERATE OR NOT.
DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND OFTEN THE VEHICLE HAS NO POWER. SPUTTERS AND THEN THE ENGINE REVS HIGH AND TAKES OFF. OFTEN DURING DRIVING THE RPM GAUGE WILL SPIKE, LOSS OF POWER OCCURS AND THEN THE VEHICLE JERKS AND POWER IS RESTORED. DOES NOT MATTER THE LENGTH OF TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN, THESE INCIDENTS HAPPEN EVERY DAY, EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 2-12-2018, USED WITH 46XXX MILES ON IT.
AT TIMES THERE IS A LOUS CLUNKING WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, PARK TO REVERSE, REVERSE TO DRIVE AND VICE VERSA. ALSO THERE IS SOME HARD SHIFTING WHEN ACCELERATING.
STOPPED IN DRIVE THRU AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANT. CAR WAS FINE. GOT READY TO PUT CAR IN DRIVE, WOULD NOT MOVE AND COULD NOT CHANGE GEARS, COULD NOT REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION. WHEN TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED, HE NOTICED THAT THE SHIFT LINKAGE WAS DISCONNECTED FROM GEAR CHANGER. NO PART IN STOCK TO RECONNECT IT, EVEN AFTER CONTACTING DEALERSHIP. A CAR THIS NEW SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. ONLY NORMAL DRIVING ACTIVITY AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE.
THERE HAS BEEN MANY ISSUES WITH THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. BOTH STRUTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT 22,000 MILES. THE SWAY BAR LINK WAS ALSO REPLACED.I AM NOW AT 23,000 MILES EXPERIENCING A NOISE LIKE A BALL JOINT CLUNKING IN THE PASSENGER FRONT AND THE DEALERSHIPS CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS MAKING THE NOISE. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO 2 SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS FOR A SYNOPSIS. STILL NOTHING. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGH AND SLAMS INTO THE NEXT GEAR FROM 2-3. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM SPORT AUTOMOTIVE USED CARS ON OCTOBER 2017. EVER SINCE NOTHING BUT ISSUES. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY SINCE FORDS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PURCHASED IN MY FAMILY.
TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BROKE. VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. SHIFT CABLE CONNECTOR IS PLASTIC AND DISINTEGRATED.
SHIFT LEVER CABLE BROKE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVER. SHIFT LEVER IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND FELL APART.
PULLED UP TO MY DESTINATION, PUT VEHICLE IN PARK, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BEGAN TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. AS I EXITED VEHICLE IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. I FELL BACK INTO CAR AND ABRUPTLY APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE CAR SHIFTER HAD NOT GONE INTO PARK WHEN I MOVED IT UPWARDS TOWARDS PARK AND INSTEAD HAD GOTTEN LOCKED IN NEUTRAL. I WAS STILL ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION EVEN THOUGH IT HAD NOT ENGAGED IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. NOW GEAR SHIFTER IS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT MOVE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOGGUS FORD AND THEY SAY THAT PROBLEM IS NOT UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. FORD RECALLED 2014-2015 FORD FUSIONS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM ON NOVEMBER 18, 2014 BUT NOW THEY TELL ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT MADE AT THE PARTICULAR PLANT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL SO MY ISSUE ISN'T COVERED. RECENTLY, WHILE TRAVELING FROM CHICAGO, IL TO LAS VEGAS NEVADA, I EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CAR BROKE DOWN IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, WHERE I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, DUE TO THE CLOSENESS OF THE WHERE IT BROKE DOWN. THE REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT THEY WOULD NEED A FEW DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD NO MORE DAYS TO STAY IN VEGAS, AS I NEEDED TO RETURN HOME. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, IT STALLED WITHOUT WARNING INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED EIGHT TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I'VE HAD STEERING AND TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR THAT CAN'T BE AND/OR WON'T BE ADDRESSED BY THE DEALER. THE CAR IS VERY HARD TO KEEP IN THE LANE ESPECIALLY ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD UPON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. THE SUSPENSION IS WEAK MAKING THE CAR SEEM AS IF IT'S SINKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND BOUNCES WAY TOO MUCH AS WELL AS THE SWAYING AS THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND HAS WHERE ROLL ON TURNS. THE VEHICLE SITS TOO LOW TO CLEAR ALL DRIVE WAYS AND THE WIPERS DON'T CLEAR THE WINDOWS PROPERLY. THE FRONT WINDOW ALWAYS GETS FOGGY CAUSING THE HEAT OR AC TO BE USED CONSTANTLY.
MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING MOTION AND WHEN IT WAS IN STATIONARY. THERE WAS A MESSAGE POPPING UP ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK", I TOOK IT TO MULTIPLE DEALERS TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND THE ISSUE AND ALL OF THEM SAID THAT THEIR COMPUTER ISN'T DETECTING THE ISSUE THAT I'M HAVING. SO THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE MY CONCERN. I EVEN OPENED UP A LEMON LAW CASE IN NJ SO HOPEFULLY THEY CAN HELP ME. *TR
THE 2015 FUSION HAD A SURGE AND THE CAR JERKED FORWARD. MY WIFE SAID THAT HAPPENED TO HER BEFORE. WHEN IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN THE CAR DRIVING IT WE BOTH LOOKED AT EACH OTHER. 1ST OFF I'LL START WITH THE WORSE TO LEASE PROBLEMS, THE TRANS SHIFTING VERY SLOWLY AND HARD, THE CAR IS TOO LOW AND HITS EVERYTIME TO A DRIVEWAY IS ENTERED AT A MALL OR ANY PARKING LOT AND IS TOO LOW FOR CHICAGO WINTERS, THE SEATS ARE VERY CHEAP AND GET STAINS FROM DROPS OF WATER, CAR RIDES HARD AND NOISY ESPECIALLY THE REAR, POOR STEREO SOUND, VERY SLOW ACCELERATION, ELECTRONIC STEERING MAKES THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND HARD TO STAY STRAIGHT IN LANE, AND EVERYTHING'S IN THE WRONG PLACE (ARM REST TOO LOW TO REACH STEERING WHEEL, SEAT TO LOW OR FAR AWAY TO REACH PEDALS AND ON LONG TRIPS WEARS THE DRIVER OUT FROM FIGHTING THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WIPER AND/OR WINDSHIELD DESIGN - IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WHEN IT IS RAINING, EVEN JUST MODERATELY RAINING, AND EVEN WITH THE WIPER SPEED ON HIGH. I CAN'T TELL IF THE WIPERS ARE TOO SLOW, IF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD PROMOTES WATER RETENTION, OR IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WIPER MECHANISM DESIGN (INSTEAD OF GOING THE SAME DIRECTION, THE WIPERS START IN THE MIDDLE AND GO SEPARATE DIRECTIONS TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE). FURTHERMORE, EVERY TIME THE WIPERS MAKE A PASS THERE APPEARS TO BE A FILM ON THE GLASS THAT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO CLEAR ' IT LOOKS SPLOTCHY, AND ISN'T AFFECTED BY TEMP/DEFROST AT ALL. AT NIGHT WHEN PASSING ANOTHER CAR OR UNDER STREET LIGHTS THIS MAKES A TERRIBLE GLARE, AND OF COURSE THE FASTER YOUR WIPERS ARE GOING, THE MORE "FILM" THERE WILL BE BECAUSE THERE'S NO TIME...
THE VEHICLE IS A HYBRID PLUS. IT HAS A CHARGE PORT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCEPT A CHARGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS FROM FRONT TO BACK HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS JOB REQUIRES COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE ENTIRE INTERIOR. ALSO FORD HAS NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER OR MYSELF IN 5 DAYS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. ON MORE THAN THREE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE HAS ABRUPTLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING OR COMING TO COMPLETE STOP WHEN THE GEAR WAS IN THE DRIVE POSITION. I RENTED A 2015 FORD FUSION SE4 FOR 2 WEEKS FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR LOCATION AT 2090 N SR7, HOLLYWOOD, FL 33021, PH.NO. 954-964-9954.
