Turn Signals, Speed Control Radio Functions, Windsheild Wipers STOPPED WORKING! It effects people in front ,back or side knowing what I am doing so they can react like turning in any direction , My vision is blocked during rain or snow and will cause an accident harming me or others . ' No warning lamps came on when problem happened ! ' Problem has been confirmed by a Qualified Mechanic !
When shifting into reverse, backup camera screen went to a constant blue screen — no rear image at all now.
Back up camera failure the day after I bought the truck from a dealership. With the vehicle lifted in the rear and the blind spots it has mirrors only do so much before you have to open the door while backing up just to make sure it’s good enough or you aren’t sticking out while parked. It hasn’t been professionally inspected. No lights but it started as a black screen with green lines and eventually turned to a bright blue screen that is blinding at night when trying to back up.
The window has little specs between the glass it’s very hard to see when the sun is blaring on it .its not anything on the window Sheild or on the inside glass it’s between the glass.
THE WINDSHIELD HAS TINY SPEC BETWEEN THE GLASS NOT A SCRATCH ON WINDOW OR CHIPS WHEN ITS REALY SUNNY OUT YOU CANT SEE IT REALLY HARD.THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AT NO CHARGE.ITS AN ACCIDENT READY TO HAPPEN.
Driving through thunderstorms the rear sliding window popped out from the bracket. The top bracket came loose allowing the window to pop out. This top bracket was fastened with 4 strips of 2 sided tape. Had to pull over and tape the window & bracket.
Rear camera image becomes distorted or inoperable during reversing. Discovered recent a recall covers many similar vehicles however not my specific vehicle despite having the same issue.
The windshield wiper linkage could corrode and seize. If this happens, the windshield wipers may not work. Windshield wipers that don't work could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
When operating the turn signal and using the wipers on delay, I smelled a plastic like burning smell thinking it was the wiring in the controller arm. This happened several times and eventually the wiper runs 100% on the time delay with no way to turn off except by pulling the fuse. I can operate the normal speeds of the wipers when it rains if needed but I still get a smell sometimes. I have not had the issue looked at but will next week at an independent repair shop. I'm concerned maybe an electrical issue could cause a fire at some point in time.
My F150 2016 rear glass shatter for no reason. it was parked in driveway and when I came out of morning.
Got into vehicle and before starting window just shattered. No issues prior with the rear window just random and for no apparent reason it shattered from inside out.
The windshield wipers are stuck on the slowest, intermittent speed and won’t turn off. This is a known issue.
Intermittent wiper operation stop working. Yes it is available for inspection. Had to operate wiper operation manually. No! Not confirmed. No inspection by others. Unknown. Just skip, then stoped intermittent operation.
The rear window shattered spontaneously after using remote start. Problem has been reported a lot with 2015 and newer F150 trucks.
On a morning in the 30s, remote started the truck and shortly after heard a pop sound. Walked out a few minutes later to find the back windshield had shattered sitting in my driveway.
I was driving at a slow speed on a dirt road directly into the sun when it was just rising. The conditions of the sky were slightly hazey. The entire windshield turned into a bright white light. (from right to left and top to bottom covering every square inch of the windshield) I could no longer see outside in front of me. I stopped. It was brighter than the sun 100 fold. No matter where I moved, the bright light of the windshield did not allow me to see. I had to roll down my window and place my head outside the vehicle to keep from driving off the road and into a different direction about a mile up the road. After going in a different direction everything was all right. I am concerned for other drivers that they may encounter this similar situation possibly causing an accident. My conclusions...
This afternoon when it started to rain I turned on my wipers only to discover they would not turn on. I managed to get off the road and even tried swapping fuses, but the wipers still wouldn’t turn on. I had my child in the car and this was a very dangerous situation! Ford is telling me that the wiper recall doesn’t cover my truck. Help!
The rear sliding window mechanism failed. The top track for the window was poorly affixed and has come off of the rear cab leaving the window hanging and unattached.
Upon entering my truck, I noticed the rear (powered) window seemed to be open, despite leaving it in the closed position. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the glass and trim were not correctly seated and it appeared as though the adhesive that holds the parts had failed (true cause unknown as I didn't observe the occurrence). This is a safety issue because 1) I have a young child who rides in the rear seat of the vehicle, and the glass moves freely since it is off-track. 2) the electric components are still working, and if my spouse (who doesn't drive my truck often) were to forget there was an issue, moving the glass which is not correctly articulating in its track could cause it to break (I am uncertain as to whether or not it is shatter-resistant). 3) we have had a lot of rainy weather, and due to the...
The windshield wipers seem to work intermittently. I turn the wipers to its highest setting and it does not run. It seems to be working with the rain sensing but only after passing the first tick on the wiper arm.
2016 F-150 XLT V8 windshield wipers run uncontrollably with key turned on, can't turn wipers off, had to pull fuse. With wipers inoperable truck is operating unsafely with reduced visability. I changed wiper relay and turn signal stalk and problem persists. I called FMC customer service and they could not assist. Ford dealer made appt 4 weeks from now.
On 3/11/2023, I used my vehicles, 2016 Ford F-150 Platinum, remote start feature before leaving work. When I got in my truck to go home, I noticed that the rear window of my vehicle was shattered. After some further investigation, it appears the rear defroster heat element malfunctioned, and shattered the rear window. This caused glass particles to circulate within my truck, as there was nothing protection wind from coming in the rear window area. Upon further research, it appears that this has happened to numerous other vehicles of similar make/model/year. I have contacted Ford and am awaiting their response. This is a safety feature and a malfunction of their vehicle, therefore they should be responsible.
Wipers will not shutoff, continue to wipe at the slowest setting. This is occasionally intermittent and sometimes does not start to be an issue until the wipers are engaged once, then they will not shutoff.
Was told the Steering Wheel Control Module needed replaced. Was driving and the blinkers stopped working, window washerfluid button doesn’t work, and anything pertaining to the hazard switch is not working. This is very dangerous to not have working blinkers and windshield wipers not working as they should. Was told that the part is on back order until December or January. Hopefully we will see it before that since it’s a primary vehicle and I don’t feel safe driving it with my children in the car.
We discovered water in the glove compartment after rain. The passengers identified headliner has clearly had water issues prior to our purchase of this vehicle used. We applied silicone caulking to the top, passenger side windshield. After further rains, the water seems to be collecting under the dashboard and spills out when turns are made or velocity changes. Further silicone caulking of the windshield may be preventing leakage, but we are not fully assured of that.
Rear window spontaneously exploded on July 8th around 11:00am. My truck was parked and not driven for two days. The rear window exploded and shattered. The glass was everywhere, In the truck bed and all over the cab. The seats and carpet have shards of glass embedded in them. I called Tom Masano Ford in Shillington PA. Spoke to Lydia a service advisor. She told me that Ford would not cover the repair/replacement of the rear window. She stated that Ford would not take any responsibility for this safety issue. There was no warning lamps, messages, ect prior to the window exploding. We have an appointment at Tom Masano Ford on Monday July 18th.
Front differential grinding when driving. Ford Replaced IWE check valve and problem came back about a month later. Windshield washer fluid pump failed.
2016 F150 47,000 miles. Rear glass shattered for no apparent reason, impairing rear vision. This is a known documented problem for thousands of owners have complained to Ford with no resolve unless it is under warranty.
we bought this used truck from the ford dealership only 3 months prior! the car max report and other research we did before buying showed 0 issues like this with the truck. we used auto start, which does turn rear defrost on max, leaving a store parking lot. driving through parking lot pulling up to stop light less than 5 minutes after starting truck and as we begin to slow down we heard a terrifying loud explosion sound. we turned around and the entire rear windshield had shattered into tiny glass pieces. some small pieces of glass hit us and some was on the backseat and on the truck bed cover. there were no significant holes of any size or items around the inside or outside of the truck that could have caused the damage. thankfully we were slowing down while driving otherwise we could have been in a wreck...
Rear window shattered while sitting in the driveway. Vehicle was on and running at the time warming up
The line that sprays the windshield washer fluid freezes up ALL THE TIME when it is cold out. This makes it almost impossible to see at times. I end up having to pull over on the side of the road and try to get it working again. The thing I found that works the best is pinching the hose in different areas and then pouring washer fluid on the line through the spaces in the cover. I was out for the last three hours and it never worked a single time! This is EXTREMELY dangerous to both myself and my passengers (which includes my wife and 10 year old son)...but also to every other driver or pedestrian out on the road. Every time I take it into a Ford dealership they claim not to know anything about the problem and they don't know how it can be fixed. I know...
Windshield washer fluid line (under hood) constantly freezes up- causing sprayers not to spray which is EXTREMELY dangerous from a visibility standpoint. Windows become quickly caked with slush and dirt from wet/ snow-filled roads. This happens multiple times, regardless of the type of windshield washer fluid that is used. Husband constantly needs to stop/ get out to correct the issue. Husband has taken our vehicle into one auto repair shop- they were unable to correct the issue. Spoke w/ another this weekend and the auto repair tech said it is a known issue and he actually has the same issue w/ his truck. He wasn't aware of a fix. He stated that he actually carries around extra water bottles so he can spray his windshield at stop signs when the windshield becomes hard to see through. My husband is not a mechanic-- but he believes the issue may be the...
My name is [XXX]. My girlfriend and I bought a used 2016 F-150 truck back in July 2021, about 3 months earlier. We were driving yesterday (Oct 19, 2021) out from a Panera parking lot and suddenly, all we heard was a loud bang, almost like a gunshot. We did not know what it was originally so we looked around and saw the rear window had exploded into million pieces and shattered. Luckily, we did not have any pets/children/people sitting in the back, otherwise this would be a trip to the emergency room as the shatters were all over the back seat and inside the truck bed. When we came home, we looked online and found multiple incidents that this happens with the F-150 and Ford has not issued a public recall or done anything to prevent it. We called our dealer that we bought the truck from and they...
Rear window glass spontaneously shattered. Sounded like a gunshot when it happened. Defroster was on. There are numerous instances on various Ford forums of this problem having occurred on F150s
1. THE WIPERS WILL NOT SHUT OFF. i HAD T PULL THE FUSE TO GET THEM TO STOP. aS A RESULT, THE WIPERS LEFT SEVERAL SCRATCHES ACROSS MY WINDSHIELD MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. 2. THE DRIVERS SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT DOES NOT FULLY EXTENT TO THE FULL HEIGHT SIMILAR TO THE PASSENGER SEAL MAXIMUM HEIGHT. AS A SHORT PERSON THIS MIKJES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OVER THE STEERING WHEEL. ADDITIONALY, THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SEAT HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK.
VEHICLE WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF DESPITE BEING OFF ON THE WIPER COLUMN.
REAR WINDOW/WINDSHIELD SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHEN GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED LOCKING UP IN CYCLE, FULL SPEED OR INTERMITTENT MODE. REPLACED $150.00 WIPER MOTOR MYSELF, CURED PROBLEM. VEHICLE ONLY HAD 48,000 MILES, COULD HAVE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY AT ANY TIME, VERY DANGEROUS.
WHILE DRIVING IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN IN 10 DEGREE WEATHER DURING HEAVY SNOW FALLING I WAS UNABLE TO USE DEFROST FUNCTION TO CLEAR WINDSHIELD, UPON CYCLING THROUGH ALL HEAT OPTIONS FOUND THAT ONLY THE DASH VENTS WERE WORKING. TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND THEY STATED THE A/C BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR MOTOR FAILED. FORD OEM REPLACEMENT PART IS BACKORDERED UNTIL MID-MARCH, THEY INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET ONE BUT IT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, NOW WAITING FOR OEM PART TO REPLACE IT WITH. ONLY 57,000 MILES.
I REMOTE STARTED MY VEHICLE AND A FEW MINUTES LATER I LOADED MY DAUGHTER INTO HER CARSEAT AND BEGAN DRIVING. I DROVE ABOUT 10 FEET AND STOPPED TO GET OUT WHEN I REALIZED I FORGOT MY WALLET INSIDE. AT THAT TIME, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, I HEARD A LOUD SMASHING SOUND. I LOOKED BACK INTO THE DIRECTION THE SOUND CAME FROM AND SAW THAT THE ENTIRE BACK WINDOW WAS SHATTERED AND SOME GLASS HAD FALLEN ONTO MY DAUGHTER. I CONTACTED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEN FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND NEITHER COMPANY ACKNOWLEDGED MY CONCERN. FORD DIDN'T EVEN GET ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM ME BEFORE THEY DISCONNECTED MY CALL.
THIS EVENING ON 1/28/2021 AT 6:55PM, WHILE PARKED AT A SHELL GAS STATION IN ST CHARLES, IL ABOUT TO GET GASOLINE, THE ENTIRE BACK WINDOW SUDDENLY EXPLODED. THERE WAS A VERY LOUD BANG, FOLLOWED BY A BURNING SMELL. THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS NOT TURNED ON, THE INSIDE CABIN WAS SET TO 72 DEGREES FARENHEIT. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE VEHICLE BUT I KEPT THINKING, WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. THERE WAS GLASS STREWN ABOUT THE INSIDE AND EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CALLED THE SHELL STATION LOCATED AT 2500 E MAIN ST, ST CHARLES, IL IN AN ATTEMPT TO ACQUIRE THE VIDEO SURVEILLANCE WHICH SHOULD SHOW THAT THERE WAS NO OUTSIDE DAMAGE OR IMPACT. ADDITIONALLY I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH A FRIEND AT THE TIME WHO ALSO HEARD THE EXPLOSION. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY STATIONARY.
ELECTRIC SYSTEM WENT DOWN, NO LIGHTS,TURN SIGNALS,HORN WIPERS, ETC. (RADIO KEPT WORKING) ENGINE STARTED AND DROVE HOME VERY CAREFULLY
I REMOTE STARTED THE TRUCK WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, WHILE I GOT MY SON READY FOR DAYCARE. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WAS RAINING AND ROUGHLY 35 DEGREES. ONCE MY SON WAS LOADED INTO THE CAR SEAT I CLOSED HIS DOOR AND HEARD THE WINDOW CRACK. I LOOKED BACK TO SEE THE BACK REAR WINDSHIELD HAD SPIDER WEBBED AND SHATTERED. THE GLASS WAS BLOWN FROM THE INSIDE OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I HAVE PHOTOS OF WERE THE DEFROST STRIP HAD ARCED/SEPARATED CAUSING THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW SEVERAL OTHER EXAMPLES OF THIS ON THE EXACT SAME MODEL OF TRUCK. I WAS RECOMMENDED TO PREVENT THIS IN THE FUTURE WAS TO PULL THE DEFROST FUSE.
WHILE DRIVING IN A REMOTE AREA NO TREES, PEOPLE OR ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE HIT THE WINDOW, WHEN THE REAR WINDSHIELD EXPLODED. THE EVIDENCE SEEMS TO POINT TOWARDS THE REAR DEFROST HEATING ELEMENTS GETTING TOO HOT. ITS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE HEAT DEFROST WAS NOT ON AT THE TIME. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES 55 DEGREES AND SUNNY. THE FIX IS NOT COMPLETE YET BUT I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT SAFELITE AUTO TO GET THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED. I CALLED FORD, THEY SAID THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR IS $679.00.
AFTER PARKING, SHUT MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE REAR WINDSHIELD STARTED TO CRACK AND FALL APART. NOTICED MY REAR DEFROSTER MELTED THE REAR WINDOW DECAL. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH I BELIEVE I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM OTHERS DRIVERS HAVE HAD WITH A DEFECTIVE REAR DEFROSTER THAT OVER HEATS THE REAR WINDOW AND HEAT STRESSES IT TO A POINT WHERE A SIMPLE DOOR SHUTTING ACTION WILL BE ENOUGH TO CRACK AND SHATTER THE WINDSHIELD.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK I STARTED SMELLING SMOKE. AS I MADE A TURN I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE REAR SEAT. I TRIED PULLING OVER ASAP BUT HAD TO DRIVE ANOTHER 100 YARDS. A LOUD BANG WENT OFF WHEN I PULLED OVER. AS I EXIT THE CAR I FOUND MY REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED INTO THOUSAND OF PIECES. MY TRUCK SMELL LIKE A FIRE AND WINDOW DAMAGE IS VERY DANGEROUS.
I STARTED MY CAR WITH REMARK START AROUND 7:25 AM GOT INTO THE TRUCK AT 7:30 DRIVE TO WORK PARKED AND WHEN I CAME BACK FROM WORK THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. MY TRUCK HAS CLAIMANT CONTROL AND SEEMS TO HAVE TURNED ON DEFROSTERS IN THE MORNING.
SAME ISSUE AS REPORT 11308430 - ACTIVATED REMOTE START WITH TRUCK IN DRIVEWAY; WHEN I CAME OUT TO DRIVE AWAY, THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED. THE CLIMATE SETTINGS ARE SET TO THE FACTORY DEFAULT FOR REMOTE START. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THE DEFROSTER CONNECTION ISSUE MENTIONED BECAUSE THIS WAS A WARM SUMMER DAY AND THE DEFAULT SETTING INDICATES THAT THE DEFROSTER SHOULD NOT HAVE ENGAGED AND THE DEALERSHIP SAW NO EVIDENCE THAT IT DID. THE TRUCK IS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED, BUT FORD CLAIMED THIS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE GLASS, WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY, THUS FORD WAS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR COST.
I GOT IN MY TRUCK THIS MORNING 5/24/2020 CLOSED MY DRIVERS DOOR AND HEARD A LOUD POP LIKE A GUN SHOT. I LOOKED BACK AND MY REAR GLASS EXPLODED. GLASS WENT EVERYWHERE. THE TRUCK HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN ANYWHERE FOR 3 DAYS. THE TRUCK HAS 42000 MILES. THE TRUCK HAD 38 MILES WHEN I PURCHASED IT. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN IN 2018. I WENT AND GOT IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT. I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE SLIDING GLASS IN THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED. THE TRUCK HAD UNDER 20000 MILES. FORD WOULD NOT COVER IT. I HAVE READ ARTICLES THAT STATE THE PROBLEM MAY BE THE DEFROSTER GETTING TO HOT AND SHATTERING THE GLASS. ALL I KNOW IS THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN TWO YEARS FOR THIS TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS NOT MOVING EACH TIME. *TR
REMOTE STARTED MY 2016 F150, TRUCK RAN NO MORE THAN 5 MIN. I WAS ABOUT TEN FEET AWAY WALKING TOWARD THE VEHICLE, I HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUN SHOT, STARTING LOOKING AROUND AND FOUND MY REAR SLIDER WINDOW SHATTERED. I NEVER USE THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST FUNCTION. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS I FOUND OUT WHEN YOU REMOTE START THIS VEHICLE IT TURNS THE DEFROST ON. I HAVE HAD A VEHICLES WITH REAR WINDOW DEFROST, NEVER HAD ONE DO THIS. IT WAS PRETTY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. THANKFUL MY GRANDCHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE REAR SEAT AT THE TIME. ( VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ) THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE REAR WINDOWS ON THESE TRUCKS.
