The frame is rotting through. It was on a lift for a new starter; this resulted in the frame bending. It will not pass inspection. Ford refuses to repair /replace the frame as it is past their 5 year rust warranty. The vehicle has only 15000 miles. It has never been immersed in fresh or saltwater. The undercarriage has been sprayed off regularly when driven in the winter.
I went for an oil change, tire rotation, etc at the dealer on 6/9/25 and was told that my frame had rust damage/holes and would not pass inspection this coming December. Went to Ziebart on 6/11/25 and they confirmed multiple hole/rust damage on frame which needed repair. They were perplexed as no problem was seen at my last yearly check of the rust protection in July of 2024. Also, no mention of a potential problem was found at my last vehicle inspection in December of 2024. How does this kind of damage occur in 6 months? I'm reading on-line that this is an issue with Ford F-150s, but no recall?
Dangerous hop that I was experiencing and would happen on a straight away going down the interstate. I did not have to be hitting a corner for the back end to hop sideways on me. It also would happen going around a slight corner. So pretty much, it happened no matter what when Id hit bumps at higher speeds. But it most definitely was a dangerous scenario for my truck and Ford should not take that lightly. But the chances of them coming up with a fix anytime soon is not likely. The shocks they come up with still do not do as good of job in front or the rear. Complete loss of the vehicle going around of the vehicle, which feels as its fishtailing or hitting black ice. I have replaced the original shocks hoping it would help, and new struts did not solve my problem. The only...
I was told there was something hanging underneath my truck and when I looked I found the sway bar had broken. It was not the end links but the sway bar itself. I have never been off roading or abused the truck.
The frame on this truck broke. The frame tore in a manner that the lower control arm became disconnected from the vehicle. I recognize that l live in an area where rust issues are real, however l am also very experienced with metal working and fabrication and can reliably assure that corrosion is not the cause of this failure in the frame of this vehicle. I have attached 4 photos, those are of the front & back of passenger side (good) and driver's side (bad). Note the broken bolt head (toward the front) and the broken frame. This is the actual frame that broke and not a bolted on subframe and to me this is a serious issue. There are so many of these trucks on the roads l feel that l am obligated to make you aware of the problem. I thank you for your time.
Several recalls on the same make and model as mine. Why is my truck not covered under recall. These issue should not happen to a vehicle 5 years old with less the. 85k miles and all work has been completed at lithos ford of boise where I purchased it.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the independent mechanic for an oil change, a strange noise was coming from the rear of the vehicle. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a faulty carrier bearing and the rear differential needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that they would not reimburse since the repairs were not performed at the dealer. The failure mileage was 57,492.
I HAD JUST COMPLETED WASHING MY TRUCK IN AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH AND WHEN SLOWLY EXITING THE CAR WASH BAY, THE TRUCK UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED. I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WENT UP AN EMBANKMENT, WENT AIRBORNE, AND I CROSSED FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC BEFORE I COULD GET THE VEHICLE STOPPED.
I WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP & THEY'RE THE ONES WHO TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AFTER I HAD PURCHASED IT. THEY MADE UP EXCUSES AS TO WHY THEY COULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, ACCORDING TO THEM THEY DIDN'T HAVE PARTS TO RESOLVE THE RECALL ISSUE & TO COME BACK ANOTHER DAY. NOT TO WORRY THAT MY VEHICLE IS FINE. I'VE NOTICED MY TRUCK IS MALFUNCTIONING WHEN I TRY TO SLOW DOWN & STARTS SHAKING MAKING IT HARD TO BREAK ON TIME. I NOW PUT IN THE VIN NUMBER TO THEIR WEBSITE SO I CAN SCHEDULE A SERVICE & THE WEBSITE TELLS ME THERE'S NOT A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I UPLOADED A IMAGE OF WHAT IT SAYS SO THERE'S EVIDENCE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE. NOT ONLY DID THEY SELL ME A TRUCK WITH MECHANICAL ISSUES GUARANTEEING ME THAT THE TRUCK WAS IN PHENOMENAL CONDITIONS BUT NOW THEY'RE ALSO...
THE VEHICLE HOPS VERY BADLY OVER ROUGH SURFACES AND THE TAIL END SWINGS OUT. FORD SAYS THIS IS NORMAL BUT THE VEHICLE ALMOST LOSES CONTROL OVER SURFACES THAT ARE HANDLED BY OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDING OTHER F-150S. FORD CLAIMS THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE'S REAR SITS HIGHER ON ONE SIDE THAN THE OTHER BY ABOUT 1.1 INCHES. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO FORD'S ATTENTION AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT IT'S NORMAL AND DUE TO THE GAS TANK BEING FULL DESPITE IT RESIDING ON THE SIDE THAT SITS HIGHER. NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED BUT FEEL THAT THEY ARE RELATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE MADE NOISES FROM THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION AREAS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CONSUMED TOO MUCH FUEL AND THE AIR CONDITIONING BLEW HOT AIR. ALSO, THE OIL LOW PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND FLASHED OFF AND ON. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES SQUEAKED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE DEFLATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (KOONS FORD IN STERLING, VA) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND, DURING ONE OF THE VISITS, THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED WITHOUT THE CONTACT'S CONSENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COMPLETELY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40.
DRIVING AT LEGAL LIMIT SPEEDS, WHEN HITTING IMPERFECTIONS IN THE ROADS, FRONT END/SUSPENSION HOPS VIOLENTLY (ALMOST FEELING LIKE IT'S TAKING THE WHEEL AWAY FROM YOU) LEADING TO DIFFICULTY IN REACTING AND CORRECTING SAFELY IN ORDER TO RIGHT VEHICLE IN LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY IN A MULTITUDE OF DRIVING SITUATIONS. GOING STRAIGHT, TURNING, DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75MPH AND DOWN TO 45MPH. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY VEHICLE I'VE OWNED BEFORE, INCLUDING FORD'S EQUIPPED ALMOST IDENTICALLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40-60 MPH, THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND IDLING. THE FAILURE BEGAN THE DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS NEWLY PURCHASED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS VIBRATING. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE'S SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE BROKEN IN AT A MINIMUM OF 500 TO 1,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED WITH A FAILURE NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55. UPDATED 07/12/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED FORD WAS BUYING THE VEHICLE BACK, BECAUSE THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, DESPITE REPLACING SEVERAL COMPONENTS. UPDATED 07/19/16.*JB
SEAT HEADREST PROTRUDES TOO MUCH OUT OF THE SEAT AND IT PUSHES FORWARD HEAD OF SOME DRIVERS. THE ONLY ADJUSTMENTS AVAILABLE (SLIDE UP AND DOWN, TILT TOP FORWARD) DO NOTHING TO ALLEVIATE THE ISSUE. THE LACK OF ABILITY TO "SCOOT" THE ENTIRE HEADREST BACKWARDS CAUSES BACK AND NECK PAIN WHILE DRIVING FOR AS LITTLE AS 10 MINUTES. ONE SOLUTION PEOPLE ARE RESORTING TO IS TO RE-INSERT THE HEADREST BACKWARDS, BUT THE TILTING MECHANISM PREVENT THE HEAD FROM BEING STOPPED AND SENT BACKWARDS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. ANOTHER SOLUTION IS TO RECLINE THE SEAT BACK SO MUCH THAT YOUR BACK IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED. AGAIN A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN HITTING SMALL IMPERFECTION ON THE ROAD, EVEN IN DRY WEATHER, THE VEHICLE FEELS AS IF IT'S ABOUT TO FISHTAIL. SOME PEOPLE HAVE MENTION THE SUSPENSION IS TOO SLOW TO COMPENSATE FOR BUMPS AND THUS THE TIRE, FOR A SMALL AMOUNT...
