My 2014 f150 xlt Ecoboost 4x,4 was experiencing symptoms directly related to Recall 24S37 / 24V444 (erratic/harsh shifting while on the highway). P0606, P0607 (PCM Processor Faults) P0706, P0707 (Transmission Range Sensor issues) P1702-00 (TRS Circuit Intermittent) P1921-00 (Transmission Range Signal issues) This was following the software update in the last recall. Plus the truck would not start despite a brand new battery. I purchased a new lead frame and was told by Ford to take it to Conklin Automotive in Newton Ks so I had it towed Jan 7th. My truck is still there. They replaced the lead frame but released it to me without a diagnosis, without replacing transmission fluid due to a stripped dipstick they were unable to remove, without trying the many options for removal or refilling it and without checking to see if the lead frame fixed the main issue. I had said from the...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while shifting into reverse or drive, the vehicle seemed to be in neutral and failed to move. The vehicle failed to shift into gear. The wrench symbol was displayed. After resetting the codes, there was an abnormal squealing sound. The engine light was illuminated. The vehicle went into safe mode. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was previously reprogrammed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was contacted and was referred to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 220,288.
Ford Recall #24S37. 2014 Ford F150 Transmission Module(6R80). My vehicle downshift while driving and the dashboard lights and speedometer stops working. I notified the Ford Dealership (Capital Ford of Wilmington, NC, and they scheduled an appointment for Feb. 202i6. However, my check light came on, so took my truck to Delaney Tire and Auto, Wilmington, NC. The problem got so bad (daily) I had to have it repaired. Delaney replaced the module for $2,956.47. I am asking Ford to reimburse me the $2,956.47. I have the invoice a repair order.
I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24S37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in Drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility.”
Coil packs need constant changing in this vehicle. I’ve owned it almost 8 years and sometimes I would have to change the coil packs more than 1 time a year. Obviously I would change the spark plugs also. But there is always a misfire. A lot with 3 and 5.
When driving the vehicle will drop down into a lower gear such as first gear causing the tires to lock up while going into the lower gear, throwing your body in the truck forward causing whiplash and sending my vehicle into other lanes or oncoming traffic. There's a loyd bang when it happens and the engine vibrates so bad when you accelerate it feels like the engine is gonna fall out. They said there's no recall for my vehicle by Vin number but if you put the model in the search registry then 7 recalls come up. Why is my model excluded from this? This is highly dangerous and can kill me or other people on these roads. Ithappens daily. I had just bought it 2 months ago and it happend the same day I bought it and every day since.
Front Engine cover leaking. I have had this issue twice with the same truck two separate engines. I bought my truck used and it was leaking oil. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as the front engine cover leaking. Then before the dealership could get it in to be repaired it started having problems with the timing components. All the problems were supposedly fixed but then about 5 months later the engine failed due to a camshaft failure and I was told this was due to lack of oil. The truck was not even due for an oil change after the dealership had done the repairs. I saved up and bought a brand new engine purchased April 25, 2025. I had the Ford dealership do the first oil change on the new engine and then it started leaking. I took it back and it was determined...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 207,600.
After receiving a call from Mullinax Ford in Mobile, AL regarding a recall for our 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor (recall related to unexpected downshifting), I brought the vehicle to my workplace on [XXX], where a technician performed the software update (flash) on-site. Before the update, the vehicle was functioning without issue. That same evening while driving home, I experienced extremely hard downshifting, initially in lower gears, and worsening over time. The truck now violently downshifts, primarily into 4th gear, and sounds as if the transmission is slipping. I drove the truck again the next morning and the symptoms persisted. I contacted Zachary, the original representative at the dealership, who said it may be part of the “relearning” process. My husband drove it a week later after returning from a business trip and he confirmed the issue. It has progressively worsened to the point of being undrivable. We returned the truck...
Cam phasers yes engine could blow up cause to lose control of my vehicle yes by a ford dealer no no warning lamp or message rattle at cool startup
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon leaving the grocery store and attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start while the engine was continuously turning over. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and the contact replaced the fuse, and the vehicle was able to start. The local dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH and exiting the gas station, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked and then stalled. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the timing chain was stretched and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that three months prior to the failure, the heater on the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The heater was repaired. The contact also stated that several weeks later, the backlight failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was...
Truck randomly downshifts/ jerks really hard while driving all speeds. On 4/19 I was driving 65mph and truck felt like slamming brakes on, while speedometer pin bounces around, then a wrench showed up on the dash screen, I pulled over turned truck off sat for a few minutes, turned it back on, everything seemed finer and continued driving home, with no more issues. On 4/27 I was coming home from groccery store going about 30-35mph truck dropped down to first gear and then back to 4th gear. My pregnant wife and daughter were in the car when this happened. I've called local Ford dealership, and they ask me to come in for diagnosis, but I know this is a factory recall issue via 24V-444. I'm not sure if the truck is safe to drive, this randomly happens, but seems to be happening more and more frequently past 2 months or...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and idling, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and was unable to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the timing chain tensioner, resulting in damages to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Fuse 27, a known problem with the 12th generation F150, manufactured from 2009-2014, burned through in my truck melting the fuse block in the process. The fuse block in question is the main fuse block located toward the front of the engine bay near the radiator. This resulted in a no start condition while parked in a parking lot. I was required to purchase Ford’s repair kit for their engineering problem and relocate the fuse to a new spot in the fuse block. If this had happened while driving, I fear my truck could have resulted in an electrical fire with my family inside. Please consider requiring Ford to issue a safety recall for this incredibly dangerous situation.
Warning light is staying on stating the engine is out of time. We have had the vehicle assessed by a licensed mechanic to obtain this information. No issues have been detected other than the light coming on and the mechanic pricing the repairs.
Ford Motor Company issued a recall for my truck (the transmission could suddenly shift into neutral), stating that they needed to update the PCM, and my local dealership service center said they could send an employee out to fix it remotely. I had not experienced the shifting into neutral prior to the "fix". Less than a week later, as I was driving around 35mph, the speedometer dropped to 0 and the transmission stuck in 3rd gear. I waited until the next stop sign and turned off the engine and started it again and it went back to normal. The next day the same issue occurred. The speedometer would drop to 0 and the transmission would stick in whichever gear it was last in. This time is was 5th gear on a highway. I had to pull over and restart it 3 times before it resumed normal driving. I went back...
Engine light but no issue
I was instructed to take my truck in for a recall of a sudden downshift issue with the transmissions molded leaf frame. I had told the ford representative that i was experiencing similar symptoms with my vehicle. and some symptoms that were even of even greater risks to me where when coming to a complete stop my vehicle would fail to gain proper speed facing oncoming traffic!! Also i had told the representative that due to those issues i also had the computer re-programmed previously to try to resolve the issue before becoming aware of the recall... i also had purchased an engine and transmission harness from a ford dealer prior to the recall as well, All for which i have not been re-compensated for..after becoming aware of the recall did i understand that the issue lied in the transmissions molded leaf frame which has not been repaired...no actions were...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH exiting the highway, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The oil pressure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and inspected. The vehicle was restarted and the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the residence but stalled multiple times on the way. Additionally, the contact stated a couple of days later the contact stated that he observed a knocking noise emanating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that that the rods were knocking and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a trailer, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted into first gear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the failure had damaged the engine, and the engine was replaced. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that several months later, the vehicle made abnormal grinding and howling sounds while driving. The vehicle was taken to Ken Garff Ford Ft. Collins (4809 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525), and it was determined that the abnormal sounds were coming from the rear differential. The dealer replaced the rear ring and pinion gears, as well as the bearings. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and reimbursed the contact for...
It shifts weird but it’s still unsafe
Reference Tracking # 11622306. I purchased my used F150 with 52,956 miles on 1/3/2020. Shortly after, I would occasionally notice an unusual gear downshift. Upon receiving Ford Recall 24S37 (NHTSA 24V444000) update for the powertrain control module, the check engine lite (CEL) came on. I called the Ford Recall ph#, and they told me to continue to work with the dealership that performed the update. Several times I returned to the dealership, they would reset it with diagnostics, yet repeatedly the P0299 code would return each time. Prior to the CEL coming on, the CEL was preceded by a stall on acceleration on small hill inclines, and worsened fuel mileage, and typically after towing my trailer. These things didn't occur before the update was installed. (Attachments)
Upon purchase of my vehicle, I occasionally would notice an unusual gear downshift. Then, upon receiving a Ford Recall 24S37 and NHTSA Recall 24V444000, regarding the update to the powertrain control module, I now continue to have a check engine light come on each month with the same error code. I've returned each month since the recall to Ford dealers to have the check engine light looked into further since the update, but each month the check engine light continues to return. Downshift to lower gears continues occasionally. 2 different dealers have seen the codes in the history of the vehicles computer when put through the Ford diagnostics. Invoices provided upon request, if needed.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed. The contact stated while at 60-65 MPH, the transmission downshifted unexpectedly. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond while the engine was revving. The speedometer and the odometer became inoperable. Several unknown messages were displayed. The power train, the check engine, and the air bag warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had progressively worsened while driving and required the contact to temporarily pull over to the side of the road. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer contacted the dealer, and the manufacturer informed the contact that he had to pay out-of-pocket for the additional repairs. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure...
Driving at highway speed, went to accelerate and pass another vehicle on a four-lane highway with my vehicle ending up in the far left lane attempting to pass. Truck lost all power, began to shake violently like it was misfiring, got an illuminated wrench on my dashboard, and at that point began to coast with no power being supplied by the engine. Miraculously I was able to coast across three lanes of highway to the shoulder without being rear ended by traffic moving at 70 mph which would have resulted in a catastrophic accident (endangering myself and my family and others on the road that day). I shut the vehicle off to stop the engine from shaking and misfiring and let it sit about two minutes. I restarted the vehicle, the illuminated wrench went away and the truck idled as normal allowing me to drive another 25 highway miles to...
I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend God knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced,...
The truck alames into 1st gear while driving sticks in 3rd gear as well as 5th gear no miles are being registered Speedometer not working, not registering accurate speed or mileage engine and transmission stop communicating.
The truck is randomly down shifting. It will go from 6th to 3rd or 4tg or 5th, 5th to 3rd or 4th, and I've even had it downshift to 2nd. I found several threads talking about this being an issue and to report because there is a service bulletin about it because of the OSS being in issue and no recall yet.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V345000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted after approximately four attempts. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred approximately three years later. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving at approximately 20 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to slow down as needed. The vehicle coasted and eventually came to a stop, and was shifted into park, and turned off. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was determined that the timing chain needed to be replaced again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for routine service and the mechanic discovered a crack in the right valve cover. The contact was referred to a local dealer and was informed that there were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 117,400.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was installed with an undersized fuel filter. The vehicle failed to start after waiting for some time before it restarted. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle was sputtering. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the higher-amp fuse 27 was burned. and the fuse was relocated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred him to the NHTSA hotline. Additionally, the contact stated that while at a stop light, an unknown Toyota crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his back and neck, and medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. There was no fire. The vehicle was taken to a body shop, where it was diagnosed that the...
Two issues. The first issue arose due to a leak in the "y" pipe under the air box. Upon replacing that connector, the throttle body had to be removed to get room to reinstall. Upon reinstallation of the throttle body, the truck falls into limp mode unexpectedly during normal driving, in traffic. Installed ned throttle body from parts store and still throws the p2112 code.
Brake booster leaking. Eco Booster leaking oil on manifold.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and the steering wheel became firm. The radio and heater also became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon accelerating into traffic, the vehicle was slow to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle would upshift or downshift erratically. The check engine and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The contact went to the local dealer and ordered the parts for the repair. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Dick Masheter Ford Inc. (1090 S Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43227), where it was diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
My vehicle shows a wrench on the dashboard and loses power and will not accelerate. We took it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test performed and it shows that the OSS ( Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) fault. In my 2014, this is inside the transmission. After doing research, I found this was recalled in 2009 to 2013 models. Could this be an issue in my 2014?
My truck stalled and died while entering an intersection. I was nearly broadsided by another vehicle. We both could have been KILLED. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Ford is well aware issue and has issued a TSB about it to their dealers. It is called a FUSE 27 in the Ford f150’s and it causes IMMEDIATE LOSS of power and potentially control. The power steering and brakes are effected. Someone is or more likely has been killed because of this. Please do your job. Events like this that are KNOWN by the manufacture should be IMMEDIATELY addressed.
Spontaneous downshifting of transmission to first gear has occurred more than once resulting in sudden change in speed, tires screeching, and unsafe driving or difficulty controlling automobile. Fortunately no one was behind me as I would likely have been rear ended. Each time this has happened the motor has been subjected to heavy strain.
vehicle had 65,732 when the timing chain and both turbo chargers seized costing $8,770.46. Complaining because we feel ford is at fault for this failure. engine has hardly any miles. Other Ford vehicles with many more miles had this recall but ford says mine was not covered. then under 2,000 miles later the power steering went costing $3,130.96 which was also another recall on other ford vehicles same model, same year but Ford says not mine.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle would not immediately start. Additionally, while driving at undisclosed speeds, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact replaced the cam sensors and fuses, but the failure persisted. The contact later discovered that the fuel pump relay had melted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer informed the contact that a fuse box relocation kit was needed to resolve the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned that the manufacturer was aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 230,000.
Vehicle will go into limp mode as if the throttle body is not working properly. I have to coast to the side of the road ,turn off engine and let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes before restarting.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle went into Limp Mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to safely move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road before the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A certified mechanic informed the contact that he was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure had been reoccurring for a year. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and decelerated. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road for 10 minutes and restarted the vehicle and continued driving to her destination. The contact stated that on one occasion after shifting into reverse(R) the vehicle failed to respond. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and shifted into other gears and back into reverse(R) and continued driving to her residence. The contact stated on another occasion while the vehicle was at a traffic light, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and decelerated. The contact stated that the Maintenance warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving but was unable to accelerate over 30-35 MPH. The contact took the vehicle to Auto Zone but...
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated the vehicle was making an abnormal noise while starting the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the cam phaser to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
This has happened twice now. Driving to work accelerating after a red light and the truck losses all power, but stays running. To get it to operate normal you have to pull over shift into park, turn the truck off and wait a couple of moments. The truck will retire and drive like nothing happened. Trick has 78k miles and always maintained at local ford dealer
While driving my truck several times now it shuts off in the middle of driving it without any warning. Many lights come on oil, wrench, check 4x4, limp mode, says remove item on passenger seat. Nothing on seat. Sometimes the truck starts back up other times it does not for approximately 15 minutes. Was almost rear ended by another vehicle one time. I have complained to Ford Motor company and unfortunately got no where with my complaint. I have read many complaints on the internet about the same problem and seems like it is only a ford truck problem. Widespread in the years I have seen complaints from 2006-2020 with the same problem. Something needs to be done before someone is hurt or even killed.
