All Engine And Engine Coolingenginecrankcamshaft Position Sensor Complaints
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 MPH up a hill, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle inadvertently slowed down. The contact stated that once at the top of the hill the vehicle resumed normal speed however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure with the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) sensor. No repairs were completed as the aftermarket warranty company did not cover the repairs. The vehicle was then taken to another independent mechanic who confirmed that the VCT and timing change tensioner needed to be repaired. The contact stated that the diagnostic failure code was P0016.
