FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FELL TO BOTTOM OF DOOR. *TRW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE IN THE DOOR. AFTER A GUST OF WIND HIT HIM, HE REALIZED THAT THE WINDOW FALLEN DOWN INTO THE DOOR PANEL UNEXPECTEDLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE OWNER WHO NOTICED THAT THE CONTROL FOR THE WINDOW WAS FRACTURED, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO FALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000. UPDATED 04/11/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED HE REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR ON HIS OWN. THE PLASTIC FEED FOR THE CABLES HAD BROKEN AND THE REGULATOR CABLE DRUM GROOVES HAD WORN OUT. UPDATED 04/23/12

IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS HAD FALLEN INTO THE DOOR PANEL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 158,000.

I HAVE HAD TWO WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL AND THE WINDOWS COME CRASHING DOWN UNEXPECTED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED IN FORD F150 AND NOT TOUCHING THE WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WINDOWS WILL NOT GO BACK UP AND HAVE HAD TO BE FIXED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL BODY SHOP WHERE THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,780 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,800.

2005 FORD F-150 HAD LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL WHILE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. THE RIGHT SIDE FAILED FIRST THEN THE LEFT SIDE FAILED A FEW DAYS LATER. THE WINDOW DROPPED COMPLETELY WHEN THE REGULATORS FAILED. *TR
REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. I RARELY IF EVER HAVE PASSENGERS RIDE IN MY TRUCK AND EVEN LESS SO IN THE REAR, SO THE WINDOW RARELY EVER GETS USED. THE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE WHILE JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY NOT BEING USED OR TAMPERED WITH. I ALSO KEEP A WINDSHIELD SUNSCREEN INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD TO KEEP HEAT DOWN.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 0530 WHEN DRIVER WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPPED. IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR THAT BROKE. THAT WASN'T THE ONLY INCIDENT ALL WINDOW REGULATORS BROKE WITHIN A YEAR AFTER THAT AND JUST RECENTLY THE DRIVER WINDOW BROKE AGAIN. SO THAT A TOTAL OF 5 WINDOW REGULATOR THAT BROKE IN MY TRUCK. A DEFINITE MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE ACTUATOR TO THE POWER WINDOWS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD JUST RUN OUT. THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW GLASS FELL INSIDE THE DOOR IN 2010. THE BACK WINDOW QUIT WORKING JUST AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. WE NEVER GOT IT REPAIRED. EACH REPAIR COST US OVER $300.
WEBASTO - HOLLANDIA 700 SERIES SUNROOF BLEW OFF TRUCK GOING 70 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE IS A 2005 FORD F-150 KING RANCH SUPER CREW. ON 12/26/2010 - WHILE TRAVELING WITH MY WIFE AND CHILD FROM JACKSONVILLE, FL. TO ATLANTA, GA.AND ON I-10 WEST, 5 MILES FROM I-75 NORTH WHEN MY SUNROOF SUDDENLY RIPPED OFF THE TOP OF MY TRUCK. THE SUNSHADE WAS ALSO RIPPED OUT INSTANTANEOUSLY. FORTUNATELY THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS FAR ENOUGH BACK TO SWERVE AND AVOID BE HIT BY THE GLASS PANEL AND SUNSHADE. THE PART THAT IS USED IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT IS UNSAFE FOR MY BABIES AND MYSELF TO HAVE TO CONSTANTLY HAVE THE WINDOW DOWN. THE COST TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS AROUND $500-$900 DOLLARS. THE SERVICE TECH AT THE DEALER ADMITTED THIS WAS A PROBLEM HE SEES REGULARLY AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET I SHOULD EXPECT TO SEE THE OTHER 3 WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL AS WELL. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE WINDOW DROPS QUICKLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY. THE WINDOW COULD BREAK OR STARTLE THE DRIVER ENOUGH TO CAUSE AND ACCIDENT. *TR
ON THE F-150 TRUCKS FROM YEARS RANGING 2004-2009 THE POWER WINDOWS ARE FAILING DUE TO A PLASTIC PIECE THAT HOLDS THE CABLE IN PLACE. ONCE THIS PLASTIC PIECE BREAKS AND THE WEIGHT OF THE GLASS CAUSE IT TO FALL INTO THE DOOR. WE HAVE A 2005 FORD F-150, MY HUSBAND IS DEPLOYED AND THE TRUCK SITS FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. ON JULY 3RD, ME AND MY DAUGHTER (FIVE YEARS OLD) WERE DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN THE WNDOW FELL. WHAT IF THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND HURT MY CHILD?? THIS WINDOW HAS BEEN UP AND DOWN MAYBE A HAND FULL OF TIMES! THIS WAS BY NO WAY "AN OVER TIME" INCIDENT. FORD IS OPTING TO HAVE CHEAP PARTS PRODUCED, WHILE NEVER THINKING OF THE EFFECTS ON THE DRIVER OR PASSENGARS! READING ON LINE, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. 2005 F-150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILS WITHOUT WARNING. HAD ONE REPLACED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY AND ANOTHER FAILED AT 48K MILES. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON TREND AMONGST FORD VEHICLES. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST LIMITED TO THE 2005 MODELS. ALSO APPEARS IN EXPEDITIONS. THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK FOR THEFT, AS WELL AS A DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS. MOST RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS RAINING WHEN THE WINDOW FELL, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
LEAVING WORK I WENT TO PUT DOWN MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. I HEARD A LOUD "POP" AND THE WINDOW GLASS FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HE KNEW WHAT IT WAS FROM MY DESCRIPTION AND ADVISED OF A $90 DIAGNOSIS CHARGE. TWO DAYS LATER AND 400 DOLLARS LESS IN MY POCKET, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY. APPARENTLY FROM ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS, IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE AND THE NHTSA SHOULD ALSO TAKE ACTION AGAINST FORD AND DEMAND A RECALL. *TR
2005 FORD F-150 FX4 - DRIVERSIDE WINDOW/DOOR, HEARD A LOUD POP IN THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW (IN THE UP POSITION) DROPPED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. THIS OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 235 IN IOWA AT AN APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 70 MPH. THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE VERY EASILY CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR
LEADING UP TO THE EVENT I NOTICED FRICTION NOISE WHEN OPERATING LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW. ON THE FREEWAY I HEARD WIND NOISE WHICH SOUNDED LIKE THE WINDOW HAD CRACKED OPEN. AS I REACHED FOR THE UP DOWN SWITCH THE WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. I WAS QUITE STARTLED. WHEN I GOT HOME I GOOGLED THE INTERNET TO FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE F-150 POWER WINDOWS. I TAPED THE WINDOW SHUT AND AM NOW INVESTIGATING REPAIR OPTIONS. *TR
WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY IN DRIVER'S DOOR FAILED. *TR
ALL FOUR WINDOWS DO NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN. THE DIGITAL INSTRUMENTS AND LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD FILKER ON AND OFF. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CHECKED VEHICLE AND STATED ALL FOUR OF THE ELECTRIC MOTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. STILL WORKING ON THE DASHBOARD PROBLEM. *TR
MOVING APPROXIMATELY 35MPH HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE DRIVERS WINDOW THEN FELL INTO THE DOOR. UNABLE TO CLOSE WINDOW. HAVE NOT TAKEN TO SHOP YET. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL INTO THE DOOR. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN INSIDE DOOR WHILE CAR WAS PARKED. *TR
I DROVE AWAY FROM AN ATM WENT TO PUT WINDOW UP HERE LOUD RINGING NOISE AND WINDOW WOULD NOT GO ALL THE WAY UP. THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND NOTICE WINDOW HAD FALLEN INTO DOOR AND. WOULD NOT RETURN TO THE CLOSED POSITION. THE NOISE WAS LOUD ENOUGH TO CAUSE GRANDSON SITTING IN CAR SEAT IN BACK OF VEHICLE TO START CRYING. IF THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUL WEATHER THE INSIDE OF VEHICLE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SOAKED AS WELL AS A HAZARD OF GRANDSON GETTING INJURED FROM POSSIBILITY OF SOMETHING ENTERING VEHICLE THROUGH OPEN WINDOW OPENING. *TR
