WITHIN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS (SHORTLY AFTER THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRATION) THREE OF FOUR POWER WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED IN MY F-150. THE DEALER INDICATES THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON REPAIR ACTIONS FOR F-150'S. THIS IS CLEARLY A WELL DOCUMENTED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT PRODUCT DEFICIENCY THAT IS ALSO A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE WHEN THE FAILURES OCCUR THE WINDOW DROPS INTO THE DOOR PANEL. MY MOST RECENT FAILURE WHICH OCCURRED LAST WEEK WAS DURING A SERIOUS RAIN STORM WITH MY CHILD SITTING AT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WHEN IT FAILED AND FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 30 MPH I HEARD WIND BLOWING INTO MY 2005 FORD F-150 AND NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW HAD FELL DOWN ABOUT HALF WAY I TRIED TO ROLL UP THE WINDOW WITH NO SUCCESS. I HAD TO TAPE THE WINDOW SO THAT IT WOULD STAY IN THE UP POSITION. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS ABOUT 30,000 MILES AND THIS IS THE SECOND WINDOW I HAVE HAD TO REPAIR. THIS WAS VERY TROUBLING TO ME THAT MY WINDOW COULD JUST FALL DOWN WITH NO ONE PUSHING THE BUTTON OR ANYTHING. I WONDERED WHAT IF MY TRUCK WAS JUST PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND THIS OCCURRED SOMEONE COULD EASILY STEAL EVERYTHING IN MY VEHICLE. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE WINDOW REGULATORS ON THE 2004 AND 2005...
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150 PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2005. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD COMPLETELY LOST ITS SEAL. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 30 MPH, HE HEARD FIVE LOUD BANGING NOISES IN FRONT OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE INSTALLATION OF THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT FORD MANUFACTURED AND WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM A FORD DEALER AND HAS NOT HAD ANY REPAIRS TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 47,197.
PASSENGER SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW ON OUR 2005 FORD F-150 SUPERCAB SIMPLY FELL DOWN WHILE MY WIFE WAS WORKING. WE RARELY USE THE PASSENGER WINDOW AT ALL. I HAVE READ A PLETHORA OF SUCH OCCURRENCES ON WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE WINDOWS CAN FALL AT ANY TIME - EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. IMAGINE BEING BROKEN DOWN IN A VERY FRIGID PLACE AND TRYING TO STAY WARM AND BANG - A WINDOW SIMPLY FALLS DOWN. THIS SHOULD WARRANT AN IMMEDIATE RECALL. I HAVE CHANGED THE WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH, WINDOW MOTOR AND NOW HAVE TO CHANGE THE WINDOW REGULATOR FOR THE SAME WINDOW. THE CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE BROKE. THAT IS ON ONE WINDOW, NOT COUNTING THE OTHER THREE WINDOWS THAT HAVE HAD PARTS REPLACED ALREADY. *TR

AT 47,296 MILES THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW OF MY FORD F150 CREW CAB FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR AND WOULD NO LONGER OPERATE. I PAID 416.00 TO REPAIR AT A FORD DEALERSHIP. AT 48312 THE LEFT REAR WINDOW HAS FALLEN INSIDE THE DOOR AND WILL NOT OPERATE. I WILL BE FACING ANOTHER 400+ IN REPAIRS. *TR
MY PASSENGER WINDOW FELL DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR FRAME. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE DRIVERS WINDOW FELL DOWN IN THE DOOR. IT WAS POURING OUT AN I COULDN'T SEE WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THE RAIN BLOWING INSIDE. I PUSHED THE WINDOW UP BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS 240.00 TO GET FIXED. IM LUCKY IT WASN'T RAINING THIS TIME. I HOPE FORD MOTOR IS LOOKING AT THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN WHILE DRIVING IN BAD WEATHER, JUST TO HAVE THE WINDOW FALL DOWN WITH NO WARNING!! MY 2005 FORD F150 JUST DROPPED THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOWN INTO THE DOOR DUE TO THE POORLY DESIGNED FAULTY WINDOW REGULATOR. FROM SEARCHING THE WEB THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEFECT THAT IS ABUNDANT IN F150'S. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THIS HAPPENED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN SHOT AT AND DROVE OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH AND BANGED MY SHOULDER. THIS IS WELL KNOWN TO BE AN ISSUE AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES NOW. WHILE DRIVING, I HEAR LOUD POP OR BANG AND THEN THE WINDOW WILL FALL INTO THE DOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVERS SIDE. THIS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS SHOOTING AT ME. IT STARTLED ME QUITE BADLY. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE WINDOW REGULATORS. PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR, BUT THE REPAIR DOES NOT PERMANENTLY FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE COVER THE WINDOW WITH PLASTIC WHILE WAITING FOR THE REPAIR. IF THEY CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR THEY MAY DRIVE AROUND FOR WEEKS OR MONTHS WITH A PLASTIC WINDOW THAT COMPLETELY BLOCKS VISIBILITY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED AND CAUSED THE WINDOW TO SPONTANEOUSLY FALL INTO THE DOOR. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE REGULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $300. IN ADDITION, THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE FAILED COMPONENT WITH A NEW REGULATOR OF THE SAME DESIGN. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE POWER WINDOW RELEASED IN A DOWNWARD POSITION WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. HE WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
ANOTHER WINDOW DROPS DOWN INSIDE MY DOOR. THIS IS DEFINITELY DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT. FORD USED CHEAP PLASTIC ON THEIR WINDOW REGULATORS THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE PURPOSE. *TR

THEY CLAIMED THEY'D NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE BUT SINCE HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS WINDOW MECHANISM DESIGN FAULT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BY FORD. *TR
I HAD AN INCIDENT WITH MY 2005 FORD F-150 WINDOW REGULATOR IN WHICH THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW JUST DROPPED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MARCH OF 2008. BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER WHAT CAUSED THE WINDOW JUST TO DROP DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND HE STATED THAT THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOW REGULATORS IN THE '04 AND '05 F-150'S. AT THAT TIME I TOLD HIM THAT I WANTED THE OTHER WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED. HE ASKED IF I HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE OTHER ONES AND I REPLIED THAT I HAD NOT YET. HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I EXPLAINED MY CONCERN BEING THAT THE TRUCK WOULD BE OUT OF WARRANTY IN 3 MONTHS AND THAT I...
NORMAL DRIVING WITH WINDOWS UP, HEARD LOUD BANG AND WE THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT OR THROWN SOMETHING AT OUR PICKUP. THEN I NOTICED DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW SLOWLY SLIDING DOWN AND FINALLY FALLING INTO DOOR. PICKUP IS FOR ALL INTENTS UNSAFE. CAN NOT PUT UP WINDOW. I SEE ON OTHER WEBSITES AND THIS ONE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO FIX THIS WITH A SAFETY RECALL. 8/26/07 FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW FALLS. 7/19/08 FRONT DRIVER WINDOW FALLS. 1ST FIXED WARRANTY. 2ND FIXED $100 DEDUCTIBLE (EXTENDED WARRANTY). CONTINUAL RECURRING PROBLEM JUST AFTER WARRANTY ACCORDING TO INTERNET. APPROX. FORD CHARGE $200+ AND 1.5 HRS. (INTERNET). 3 FORD MECHANICS SAY 15 MIN. FIX AND A TRUCK OWNER SAYS 35-45 MINUTES IN HIS DRIVEWAY (INTERNET). THE FAULTY CABLE CAN'T BE PURCHASED FROM DEALER (FOR DO-IT-YOURSELF) WITHOUT BUYING WINDOW ALSO (INTERNET). THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT SEEMS TO BE A MONEY MAKER FOR FORD. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN AGGRAVATION AND INCONVENIENCE, BUT ALSO A SECURITY (SAFETY) PROBLEM. THIS SITUATION CAN OCCUR WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND DRIVER NOT IN ATTENDANCE. UPON RETURNING, DRIVER MAY FIND MUGGER IN BACK, CONTENTS MISSING OR VEHICLE STOLEN DUE TO EASY ACCESS THROUGH FALLEN WINDOW. *TR
