Drivers side door is popping/cracking. Upon reasearching I found numerous others complaing of the same problem
Premature failure of the moonroof shade dropping down or sagging from the track it is seated in, causing driver visibility issues and noise issues.
UNKNOWN December 25th, 2025, my vehicle started to shift poorly, breaking very harshly, giving a clonking sound when putting the vehicle into any gear, and when putting it into reverse, the car rocked roughly and threw a wrench light onto the dash. That wrench light gave a torque converter/transmission code. I took it to a dealership to get it diagnosed and they told me nothing was wrong with it and that it is driving as it should. I took it to a different shop for a second opinion and as soon as my vehicle was in the air, the Mechanic found that ALL of my mounts were bad, I had a transmission leak and might possibly have a bad torque converter. My safety as well as my [XXX] daughters was put at risk from the dealership not doing a thorough diagnostic on my vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM...
The welds on the Driver's and passenger door hinges broke and now the broken hinge prevents the windows from rolling down. The welds on the muffler are also broken.
When in reverse then put in drive the camera freezes while driving still see reverse. GPS BLACKS OUT ALOT.when you want to put windows up they go down, the car has caused so many problems even my mechanic said give it back.we bought the car new with 34 or 35 miles on it n I been feeling so unsafe in this vehicle for a couple yrs I cant even travel in it it dont go up hills .if I try check engine light comes on. And goes aboutv5 or 10 miles per hr.up hill.Ford company does not care. I Told them plenty of times the problems I have with the car n because I have no warnety they didn't want to help I tried for 2 yrs about my problem with the car but they dont care.My door hinges broke they didn't want to fix and my window on passenger...
The vehicle is subject to an open federal safety recall involving a fuel injector that may crack and leak fuel onto the top of the engine. According to NHTSA, liquid fuel or fuel vapor may accumulate near hot engine or exhaust components, creating a risk of an under-hood fire and injury. I purchased this vehicle after the recall had already been issued. The recall was not disclosed to me at the time of sale, and the vehicle was presented for service multiple times after purchase without any disclosure of the recall or safety warnings. When I contacted an authorized dealer to ask whether there were any open recalls, I was initially told there were none. After I specifically referenced the recall, I was told that parts were not available and that no repair had been completed. The safety risk is that the vehicle may leak fuel near hot components without...
Sunroof shade blocking rear visibility when open, when open it’s not rolling up into cavity
Warning lamps messages says so many things not available dash board crazy with at least 10 messages not working
Ford has CSP 22N15 that provides a one-time repair to reprogram the Gateway Module (GWM) for unlimited years of service and unlimited miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle. My vehicle was manufactured in Louisville in 9/2020, which appears to fall in the range of vehicles covered by this CSP, yet Ford keeps telling me that it is not covered and I was required to pay for the fix.
I am getting warnings on my dash every day, about TPMS system failure. Sometimes it shows all four tire pressure, sometimes one or two of them will shut off with the warning alarm, sometimes it is all four of them will stop showing. It is intermittent module failure, the sensors in the tire are working. There is a current recall for some of my year/make/model 20S59, but corporate Ford is saying it does not apply to my vehicle. The exact same issue as this recall has happened to my vehicle.
While driving and idling, strong exhaust fumes enter the cabin, especially when the vehicle is in park or stopped at a traffic light. Air recirculation shuts off by itself and the airflow is very weak even on high settings. Remote start caused the cabin to fill with fumes before entering the vehicle, leading to headache and difficulty breathing within minutes. Symptoms are consistent with carbon monoxide exposure. Cabin and engine air filter is brand new. Just replaced 12/13/2025. Fumes are significantly worse at idle, suggesting an exhaust manifold crack or turbo exhaust leak. This is a serious safety hazard, and I am concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning and risk of losing consciousness while driving. It was so bad I had to have all windows open and the heat off in 30 or below temperature just to breathe. I have a very small child with heart problems and I'm concerned my...
1. AWD system: sensor in rear axel causing "AWD system fault error". 2. Without the functionality of my AWD system related to this malfunction I am left with a vehicle that can not perform in the conditions that may require AWD, such as deep snow which could result in me crashing. 3. Yes. My car is currently at a Ford certified mechanic. 4. Unknown. 5. "AWD system fault error, service engine soon" as we were driving down the highway toward our home. We took it to the mechanic as soon as they had an opening, which was a week from the error message appearing.
As a firefighter, I find it concerning that this recall has been issued for so long and no resolution has been found. The amount of vehicle fires that I see with reports of it "just starting to smoke, and then was on fire when I pulled over!" can easily be explained by fuel leaking into the hot engine compartment and combusting. This is my wife's primary vehicle, so I do not see it as fair that we have to send her on her way while there is no resolution to a potentially catastrophic issue. These vehicles need to be pulled off the roads before someone dies!
Chrome around shifter knob is peeling up causing gashes in drivers fingers. A key function to adjust gears that is causing bodily harm. Chrome tips were addressed on Window nobs due to Sharp Chrome peeling up. Vehicle was inspected by Ford dealership and I was informed it was not included in the recall.
The back passenger door is stuck closed and will not open even though the power locks and physical lock, inside and exterior door handles all function as they should. There is currently a customer satisfaction program regarding the front driver side door 23B56 however the local Ford Dealership will not fix the issue because it is not the front door.
The front driver doors latch has snapped and no longer catches the door. The door clicked every time it opened and shut a few times before a loud pop/crack noise and now it won’t latch properly
Informed by insurance company that there is a recall that could start a good fire. Still no remedy to fix. Have called a shop, takes months to get it seen, also says no remedy. Also has a problem starting after gas is put in car. Drops rpms and tries to stall randomly.
When I open my sunroof the headliner sags and it blocks my view of the back window all together. Because of the location it is.
My vehicle has had a recall for awhile and I have been unable to drive because it has a fuel injector recall and no parts have been made and they don’t know when they’re going to be made. I feel that if they can’t make the parts that they need to give me another vehicle so that I am able to drive to work or appointments instead of having to get rides, I have contacted my Ford dealership locally and they still have no idea when parts are going to be made
In July 2025 recall #25V467 was issued on my vehicle. The safety risk of this recall is that at any point fuel can accumulate near the engine or exhaust components and ignite resulting in an under-hood fire “increasing the risk of injury”. It has been over 3 months now and no remedy yet. Since that recall came out, I am scared for my safety and the safety of my children and anyone else who rides in my vehicle because I never know if/when a fire may start. I rely on my vehicle and so do my kids to get to and from places. I am a single mother with no options to drive a different vehicle until a remedy comes out. In addition to being scared, I feel helpless whenever I drive my vehicle and pray each time that I arrive safely to my destination.
UnknownOn my dash my AWD fault warning has showed up followed by hill assist not available and traction control not available. I have looked for in formation online about it and it seems that it’s a recurring issue with 2020 Ford Escape and many others. I’ve seen that there was a customer satisfaction effective on April 9,2021 through April 30, 2022 but I have just gotten this car last year and dealer states that I am responsible for fixing a manufacturing issue. I’m not sure where my car was manufactured but my car is affected. I have about 83,600 miles and don’t seem to understand why I have to pay since in the customer satisfaction program it states that the module needs to be replaced before sale and customers that have already purchased the vehicle should have it replaced no charge to them. I’ve only just gotten this car last...
shade over sun roof folded up and dropped down. blocks the rear view can't see anything behind out back. folded up won't go back in keeps falling.
Out of nowhere, my vehicle had an AWD module failure. This has led to several other subsystems being triggered and warning lights going off. It also disables AWD. After consulting with a vendor, it appears that this is a problem that happens regularly with this vehicle around 55,000 miles. It is not a cheap fix, and results in a vehicle not being able to drive in AWD. This is a safety concern in inclement weather, as the vehicle clearly has a shoddy component that is designed to fail early in a vehicle‘s life. It is also my understanding that Ford has now discontinued this vehicle, and I bet that this is one of the reasons for it. Please issue a recall immediately so that Ford has to pay for its own mistakes and not the customer.
In my Ford 2020 Escape Hybrid Titanium AWD car, Sunroof shade got misaligned and not closing anymore, resulting in more heat flowing into the car creating impacts inside. Also, as per others comments and online forums, there is a chance that this shade would fall on the passengers during the drive if not taken care quickly, resulting in injuries in adults and deaths in infants. Reached to a Ford dealership to fix this issue and its costing me close to $3000. As its a design flaw from Ford, I request Ford to do a fix for free of charge or recall and fix it for their customers and address their safety concerns immediately. Appreciate your looking into this matter.
Moonroof/sunroof shade came off tracks upon normal use (opening) and is loose. The shade falling down impairs visibility of the road.
In August 2025, the plastic cover in between the two pieces of glass on the panoramic sunroof unknowingly fell off when the shade liner was closed due to ineffective glue/sticky tabs that failed to keep the plastic cover on safely. When I went to open the liner, the plastic cover got trapped in the shade/roller housing, broke, and then the shade got completely sucked up into the housing where I can’t get it back out. Quotes to fix this range in the thousands of dollars due to the intensive labor replacing the shade requires. I have seen this happen to multiple owners, especially on the 2020 model. There is a video on YouTube describing this issue with over 6,000 views. Many in the comments also describe having their shade roller being completely damaged and spending thousands of dollars to fix it. There was no warning that the plastic cover was...

The sunshade fell of the tracks due to a malfunction with the slide being hit by the guard piece that is attached by adhesive pads and is sagging. The sunshade fell on our head while trying to retract it when it broke. I did take the vehicle to the dealership and it is not covered by the dealership’s extended warranty. I was quoted for the repair. I have contacted Ford about this issue but have not been contacted back. The vehicle is only 5 years old and has 30k miles on it. No warning of this breaking, I just hit the button to open the shade and it broke.
A recall on rear camera was listed. My vehicle has distorted image when damp and rainy weather. Can make out is behind you. When contact dealer, she just said,my Vin # didn't match problem . It states that my vehicle doesn't meet Federal Safty standards for rear visibility.which could cause a accident.
Moonroof shade trim failure causing moonroof shade to derail. Requires extensive disassembly to repair.
.After activating the cruise control on the freeway for a few minutes, the cruise control deactivated and displayed the "Adaptive Cruise Not Available" message on the dashboard, immediately lowering the speed. Additionally, the sunroof interior stopped working after opening it. The bar that helps retract the sunroof interior came loose, and Ford says the repair is not covered under the extended warranty. There was also a problem with the rear seat belts, which displayed a warning: "REAR BELT MONITOR FAULT. SERVICE REQUIRED."
My tire sensors keep going out. I've replace them twice already. It's a concern for my especially traveling at highway speed
I have a moon roof with a canopy covering it, when you open the moon roof the canopy retracts also, my canopy retracts but came apart from the tracks on each side which causes the canopy to drop down and block the rear view mirror, which is definitely a safety hazard. I contacted Ford and no recall or TSB is available . I'm not the only one with this problem, this could cause a serious accident not being able to see behind you blocking your view.Ford has a case # that I reported to them the problem # [XXX] REFERENCE THIS PROBLEM INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Have reported this incident before but we now know what caused the issue. Sunroof on the vehicle malfunctioned causing horrendous loud noise along with inability to retract or open the cover. A large heavy peice was then found sliding around between the cover and the sunroof itself. The peice was in fact the sunrood shade molding design between the front and back sunroof at the top of the car. The peice is quiet weighty so had the cover not been closed could have easily fallen on passengers. From service department that had to basically rebuild my whole sunroof, that peice is only held up by two adhesives, no screws or bolts. Here in the south it gets hot so anything with adhesives will melt and its surprising that there havent been more incidences. Quick Google search will show this is alot more common that I even realized. Sunroof has been...
Sunshade on sun roof is sagging and now blocking visibility through rear window. This is a safety hazard and concerning.
Sunshade sagging, will not retract. This is a safety risk, because with the shade sagging blocks view of the rear.
My Ford currently has 80K miles on it with no accidents and all recalls fixed by the dealer. This morning when I was driving my kids to school, a light I've never seen appeared on the bottom right hand side of the drivers screen. The light was a red triangle with an exclamation point inside of it. Not long after I noticed the light, we started to smell something burning and our car began loosing power. I pulled over immediately and turned the car off. I googled the meaning of the light. Apparently, it was a "Stop Safely Now" light. The various reasons online could not pinpoint any reason I could come up with. I popped the hood, checked the oil, coolant, and I checked that the hybrid battery located in the trunk had a good connection. Everything was fine, as far as I could tell. When I restarted the...
Orange wrench light came on. Hooked it to a computer and it stated p093a:00 . I know some escapes had recalls in regards to this but the built date ended 7.2020. According my my car it was built 09/20. I think the recall should be extended to more than just built date they listed.
DOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE MAKES ALL KINDS OF NOISE WHEN OPENING OR CLOSING. CANNOT ROLL WINDOW DOWN, CANNOT USE KEY TO OPEN DOOR AUTOMATICALLY, AT TIMES HARD TO CLOSE SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS CATCHING.
Molding between 2 parts of sunroof came off knocking the sunroof cover off its track. This is caused it to fall on driver's head.
1) confirmed after many service trips that a wire in the engine harness is being pinched causing my check engine light to come on or off depending on if the wire is currently pinched or not. i took my car in a couple times and was told that they could not do anything if the engine light is not currently on, even when i could read the error to them from my app. 'service engine soon due to an electrical fault' this made evething even harder because when the engine light would come on was unpredictable. after recall work my care was always returned with no engine light shining, i was hopefull those recalls was what i needed, after a short time the engine light would come on and off again. i kept bugging about the light and FINALLY they dug deeper into the issue and found the wiring harness...
The exhaust gas cooler (EGR) leaked coolant into the intake manifold and mixed with oil causing the engine over-temperature light to come on, a burning smell from the engine bay, loss of power while driving and while smoke to billow from the exhaust. I had my escape towed to the Ford dealership and their mechanic installed a new K2GZ 9F464-B EGR cooler, bled and filled the anti-freeze, drained the contaminated oil and installed a new oil filter and oil. Total cost of repairs was $1100.52
A module is causing communication issues in the car between its and the key fob causing the car not to be able to start at all. It has been at the Ford dealer [XXX] for over a month now and they are unable to remedy the situation. They claim they can’t update the software or can’t find out what’s wrong with the car. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid experiences complete electrical failure - battery saving mode followed by total power loss. Ford has published Technical Service Bulletins SSM 49990 (NHTSA ID: MC-10199655-0001) and SSM 49574 (NHTSA ID: MC-10187983-0001) addressing this exact issue through ABS module programming. However, both my local Ford dealership and Ford Customer Service claim these documented TSBs do not exist in their systems. This appears to be systematic denial of safety-related warranty repairs for a known defect. According to my research, some of Ford owners could receive a 8 year Hybrid component warranty through these TSBs. It seems to be a typical pattern for Ford to avoid warranty procedures by denying TSBs. I have records of the calls. I cannnot upload it from this page
obd communication with emissions and state safety inspection. Ford knows -- will not fix under recall
All kinds of warning lights come in and stay on, which a lot of people are having the same issue which is due to a faulty sensor module.. I almost hit a truck who pulled out of a parking lot once I was on top of him ( was trucks fault) and no warning lights were functioning properly. There's also a recall for a fuel injector issue that ford is taking their sweet time to remedy, but technically I'm driving a time bomb that st any moment this fuel injection issue could crack and leak and cause a fire. And I'm not about to lose my life because of it. I've contacted ford for a lemon law buyback and they are taking their sweet time in that. No warning lights are functioning properly causing a danger for me to drive it. But I have to have a reliable care to...
The sunroof trim fell down while I was driving. This caused the sunshade to retract completely. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety concern is that this was startling to the driver and caused me to swerve. Luckily there were not any other cars around. If I had a passenger in the back seat, they could have been harmed. The problem was reported to the dealer where I bought the car and also to another dealer where I had some recall work done. I also did a live chat with someone from Ford within in the Ford app. I was told this is not covered under warranty and if I needed to have it looked at, I would have to the diagnosis fee. There were no warning lights or other indicators that this piece of plastic trim was going to fall.
AWD FAULT, PRE-COLLISION ASSIST AND HILL START ASSIST WARNINGS DISPLAYING IN CLUSTER.
Transmission selector is poking my fingers.
Warning lights coming on and staying on unless I press ok on steering wheel. Warning lights are: pre-collision assist not available, and fault service required, and off, and traction light comes on and stays on.
