WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN SEPT 2017. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER WE PURCHASE THE BRAND NEW VAN, WE STARTED HAVING ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SLAMMING IN TO GEAR. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, WE LITERALLY THOUGHT THE PERSON BEHIND US AT REAR ENDED UP THE JOLT WAS THAT BAD. UPON PULLING OVER AND INSPECTING, WE DISCOVERED WE WERENT. OVER THE LAST 23 MONTHS, WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHIFTS SO AT TIMES IT MAKES YOU DIZZY. THIS TAKES PLACE BETWEEN 10-17 MPH. IN AUGUST 2018, OUR FAMILY WAS ON OUR WAY TO A FUN DAY WHEN AT 10MPH THE VAN SLAMMED SO HARD ALL 5 OF US IN THE VAN FELT OUR NECKS CRACK AND WE GOT DIZZY INSTANTLY. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE I COULDNT SEE STRAIGHT TO DRIVE AND MY ELDERLY MOTHER HURT FOR 3 DAYS. I TOLD HER...
VEHICLE IS SLAMMING INTO GEAR GENERALLY IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR.. WE HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATE AS WELL AS THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES HOWEVER WE ARE TOLD THEY CANNOT REPLICATE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO WORSEN
OUR PACIFICA HAS A PROBLEM WHEN STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, ACCELERATING, USUALLY AROUND A TURN. EXACTLY AT 15-18 MPH (FIRST TO SECOND OR SECOND TO THIRD GEARS), THE VAN WILL HAVE A VERY LARGE JERK, THE GAS PEDAL MUST BE RELEASED, LOSING ACCELERATION. ONCE THIS HAS PASSED, YOU CAN PROCEED WITH ACCELERATING AS NORMAL. THE JOLT FROM THE SHIFT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED, CAUSING SLIGHT WHIPLASH IF YOU ARE NOT READY FOR IT. THIS PROBLEM USUALLY COME IN SPURTS, NOT HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, THEN 1 OR 2 A DAY FOR A FEW DAYS. THE DEALER REVIEWED THE PROBLEM AND "WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE" SO NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO THEM. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED SINCE ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING- VEHICLE DECIDES TO GIVE THIS WARNING WHICH CAUSES VAN TO LOCK TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND ENGAGES E-BRAKE. LUCKILY THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, BUT HAS OCCURRED ON NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, IN RESTAURANT DRIVE THRU, IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND IN PARKING LOTS. WE CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE EVEN AFTER DEALERSHIP REPLACED TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY CONTROL THAT WAS EXPECTED TO FIX THE ONGOING PROBLEM. VAN HAS BEEN TOWED OR OUT OF SERVICE 4 TIMES NOW FOR SAME ISSUE.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START. STARTING GEAR SHIFTER PROBLEM. NOTE THAT VEHICLE IS IN PARK, VEHICLE NOT READING SHIFTER LOCATION. VEHICLE WAS WORKING FINE THE DAY PRIOR TO INCIDENT WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT IN MY DRIVEWAY ISSUE PRESENTED ITSELF THE FOLLOWING MORNING WHEN TRYING TO START.
WHEN LEAVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, AT AROUND 20 MPH THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HAS RUN INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS QUITE OFTEN. AT LEAST 2 TO 4 TIMES A DAY. THERE ARE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS THAT COME ON WHEN THE HAPPENS. I HAVE HAD IT TO MULTIPLE DEALER SHOPS TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT IT DOESNT DO IT WHEN SOME TEST DRIVES THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PAID FOR MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND NOTHING SHOWS AS BEING WRONG. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE BUT NEVER FOUND ANY INFORMATION ON WHAT THE CAUSE COULD BE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS. VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES SHIFTS VERY HARD, CAUSING A JERKING TO PASSENGERS. BROUGHT TO DEALER. THEY SAID NO CODE AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE SO NOTHING THEY CAN DO.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR IN BETWEEN 5-10 MPH THERE IS NO FORWARD MOVEMENT BUT AS THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED THE RPM'S GO UP UNTIL THERE IS A REAR IMPACT TYPE FEELING THAT OCCURS AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES AND AT THIS POINT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES FORWARD. IN THE INSTANCES WHERE IT HAPPENS AT THE 5-10 MPH AREA, IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND 'COAST' THEN PUSH THE ACCELERATOR TO GO CONTINUE FORWARD. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2017 AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS BEHAVIOR FROM THE VEHICLE IS A 'CHARACTERISTIC' OF THE VAN. I HAVE FILED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WITH CHRYSLER AND EVERYTIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS I COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS AS WELL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE JERKED. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND RESTART. IN ADDITION, THE "AUTO STOP" INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FOX HILLS CHRYSLER JEEP (734-892-2220, LOCATED AT 111 ANN ARBOR RD, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,500.

VAN WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED IN HIGHWAY. PULLED OFF AT NEXT EXIT AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE THE ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT OFF. THE SHUT OFF WAS ON A ROAD. HAD ONE FAILED START THE. WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE OFF.
MY 2017 PACIFICA TOURING PLUS VAN SHUT OFF THREE TIMES. AFTER THE FIRST SHUT OFF I TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY COULD NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE "SHUT OFF" , THEY SAID THEY FIXED SOMETHING FOR NOT TO SHUT OFF, BUT RECENTLY ON 7/29/19 AND 7/31/19 IT WAS AGAIN ASKED TO MOVE SHIFT TO P AND SHUT OFF, EVEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE, IT DIDN'T AFTER 3 TO 4 TIMES TRY IT WAS STARTED AGAIN. I WAS MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH SPEED LIMIT 40MPH, LUCKY NONE OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT CLOSE. I SEE MANY CASES LIKE THIS WITH 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, SO I REQUEST CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP BY RECALLING THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. IT IS ALWAYS LIFE THREATENING DANGEROUS TO THE CUSTOMER. OTHER THAN THIS ISSUE (SHUT OFF) THE VEHICLE IS GOOD.

THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE QUICK LEARN AND THE CLEAR SHIFT ADAPTER. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF THE PARTS THAT WERE REPROGRAMMED WERE FOR THE TRANSMISSION OR THE ENGINE; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT IS SCHEDULE FOR REPAIRS AGAIN THIS WEEK. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES INCLUDING PROBLEMS WITH THE SLIDING DOORS, ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE BATTERY SYSTEM IS GROUNDING OUT, ISSUES WITH THE RADIO SCREEN, AND NOW THE AUTO ON OFF SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IN ADDITION, I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE BALL JOINTS BOLTS COMING LOOSE THREE TIME AND THEY JUST USED LOCTITE TO MAKE THEM SAY ON . THEY NEVER REALIGNED THE VEHICLE AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE TIRES THAT ARE UNSAFE. CHRYSLER SHOULD OWN THIS AND I AM STILL CONVINCED THE BALL JOINTS COULD BE DAMAGED FROM THIS ISSUE AND THEY SHOULD REPLACE THEM. HOWEVER, THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION. OVER HAVING IT IN THE SHOP FOR 2 DAYS EACH TIME AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH UNDER 30,000 MILES..

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AND COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED FIVE TIMES WITHIN A TWO HOUR TIME PERIOD. AUG 2017 PURCHASED AT 14K MILES, THEN RATTLE NOISE ON START UP, THEN RATTLE NOISE UPON PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WHILE ACCELERATING OR DE ACCELERATING, NOW DOWNSHIFTING HARD, SHIFTING HARD TO THE POINT IT GETS STUCK FOR A SECOND, PEOPLE HAVE ALMOST REAR ENDED ME, I HAVE ALMOST REAR ENDED PEOPLE PRESSING GAS TO GET IT TO GO AND IT STICKING THEN SUDDENLY SPEEDING UP

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (28100 TELEGRAPH RD, SOUTHFIELD, MI 48034, 248-331-9937) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN UPDATE AND THERE WERE NO FAILURES WITH THE BRAKES OR SHIFTER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY AFTER A COMPLETE STOP UNTIL IT REACHED APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HANFORD CHRYSLER JEEP (369 N 11TH AVE, HANFORD, CA 93230) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BELOW 30 MPH. THE FAILURE BEGAN SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2018. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,008.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED, AND THEN A MONTH LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, WORSE THAN BEFORE. THE HARD SHIFTING ALSO SOMETIMES HAPPENED WHILE ACCELERATING TO COME UP TO SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON THE THRUWAY. THE CAR HAS ALSO BEGUN REVVING ERRATICALLY. MOST RECENTLY, THE RPMS SHOT UP TO 5000 AND STAYED THERE WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN AT LESS THAN 30 MPH. MOST RECENTLY THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FROM 4/1-4/25 AND FROM 5/24 TO PRESENT.

TOOK IT EAST HILLS CHRYSLER AND JEEP DEALER IN LONG ISLAND, NY TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE THEY SAID. 2ND TIME THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SCREEN SAID 'SHIFT TO PARK TO DRIVE....' HAD TO DO SHIFT AND PRESS THE START BUTTON TWICE TO GET THE CONTROL BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THIS TIME WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN WITH ME. OF COURSE PPL STARTED HONKING AND YELLING CUZ IT'S NYC. ALSO MOST OF THE TIME WHILE FUELING, THE FUEL PUMP STOPS. REALLY SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VAN ANYMORE.
OUR PACIFICA WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED AND A MESSAGE CAME UP THAT SAID TO SERVICE THE SHIFTER. WE WERE ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART IT, BUT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO GET THE PACIFICA TO SHIFT TO DRIVE OR TO GET THE PARKING BRAKE TO DISENGAGE. SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES WHO CAME AND REMAINED ON SCENE WITH US WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH CHRYSLER CARS WERE ALSO NOT ABLE TO GET OUR PACIFICA TO MOVE. THANKFULLY THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN A SITUATION THAT WAS NOT TERRIBLY BUSY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF IT HAD OCCURRED ON A BUSY ROAD. CAR JERKS WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING ON THE ROAD. THE CAR JERKS WHILE IN MOTION CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ARE UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE, THEY HAVE CHANGED BATTERY AND UPDATED SOFTWARE BUT CAR IS STILL JERKING WHILE IN MOTION.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND 30 MPH THE CAR ON ITS OWN SLIPPED OUT OF THE DRIVE GEAR AND THE DASHBOARD CHIMED AND REPORTED THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE, THE GEAR KNOB INDICATED THE SAME HOWEVER THE CAR WAS NOT IN REVERSE. AS I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE IN TRAFFIC, I SWITCHED THE GEAR KNOB TO DRIVE AND ACCELERATED. THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND THE RPM WERE NOT REGISTERING. I DROVE HOME (5 MILES) SLOWLY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH SEEMED TO ONLY BE IN FIRST GEAR. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE PLACED INTO PARKED AND RESTARTED TO BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF WITH LESS THAN 24,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ALSO JERKS WHEN ACCELERATING AT TIMES, USUALLY AROUND 15 MPH. SOMETIMES IT JERKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN HIT IN THE REAR. WE'VE TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES TO THE SHOP AND THEY HAVE REPLACED A VALVE BODY RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT CONTINUE TO STILL HAVE ISSUES.

I'VE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO OCALA NISSAN SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING AROUND 15 MPH. THEY TESTED IT AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG BECAUSE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE NEXT TIME I TOOK IT I DROVE WITH A SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT DUPLICATE. HOWEVER ON THE WAY HOME IT DID. THE ADVISOR RECOMMENDED ME TAKE THE VEHICLE TO BE ASSESSED @ MY EXPENSE. I COULDN'T AFFORD IT AT THE TIME SO I WAITED UNTIL AN OIL CHANGE WAS DUE. ON MAY 15TH CHRYSTER DID AN ASSESSMENT AND DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THEY EVEN DROVE MY VEHICLE 19 MILES! THE ADVISOR EVEN MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE 'STORED CODES' ON MY VEHICLE, BUT DID NOT DO ANY REPAIR! TODAY MAY 19TH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND MY VEHICLE IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE!
