TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON VEHICLE START UP, THE LOW OIL PRESSURE OIL LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED OF A DEFECT IN THE PLASTIC COVER ON THE OIL FILTER, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE OIL LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A LOCAL GARAGE WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE MECHANIC HAD SPENT OVER 5 HOURS TAKING OUR CAR APART ONCE HE FOUND THAT SOME OF THE BOLTS ON THE CAMSHAFT WERE BROKEN AND HAD FALLEN IN THE ENGINE AS FAR AS THE OIL PAN. I CALLED BMW AND THEY SAID THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WAS AN EXTENDED RECALL ON THIS THAT THE WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF THE EXPENSES FOR THIS MAJOR REPAIR WHICH WAS OVER $5500! THEY WOULD HAVE COVERED THE REPAIR IF I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO ONE OF THEIR SERVICE CENTERS. I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY MY LOCAL GARAGE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO GIVE ME THE CAR IN PIECES AND HAVE IS TOWED TO BMW. I TOLD MY MECHANIC TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR AND I WOULD ATTEMPT TO FIGHT BMW. THE BACK DOOR PASSENGER SIDE WOOD DOOR PANEL IS OFF AND IT WAS NEVER FIXED OR REPLACED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THIS WILL PROBABLY COST ME MONEY TO GET THE WOOD PANEL PUT BACK ON THE DOOR. THE SAME LIGHTS ALWAYS APPEAR ON MY DASH BOARD. THE INDICATOR LAMPS ARE ON: DSC IS DEACTIVATED. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THIS FIXED. THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON AND IT IS ILLUMINATING A YELLOW LIGHT. PURCHASED A 2011 BMW 328I USED IT CAME WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY THE FIRST ISSUE I HAD WAS IN MY FOOT WELL MODULE I CAME IN FROM WORK PARKED CAR IN DRIVE WAY WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING TO NO HEADLIGHTS TURN SIGNALS AND CAR WOULD NOT START I CONTACTED BMW BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FOOT WELL MODULE TOOK CAR IN TO GET EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT BMW REPLACED FOOT WELL MODULE SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK DROVE CAR HOME THINKING EVERYTHING WAS OK PARKED CAR WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD NO POWER SO I TOOK BATTERY TO GET TESTED AND HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY ALSO THE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUSE SAFTEY TERMINAL WENT OFF FROM THERE I REPLACED EVERYTHING THAT WAS NEEDED CAR HAS POWER BUT WILL NOT CRANK HAD IT DIAGNOSTICS SAID IT WAS RELAY REPLACED ALL THE RELAYS IN THE CAR NO START...
MY BMW DOES NOT IDLE SMOOTH , IT HESITATES LIKE IT IS CHOKING ON GAS, ITS IDLE GAUGE GOES FROM 0 TO 15 CONSTANTLY. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I HAD IT TUNES=D UP AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. IT HAS LITTLE POWER ON AND OFF. YOU HAVE TO ACCELERATE HARD TO GET IT TO GO UP HILLS AND IT IS NOT A SMOOTH SHIFT WHEN YOUR RIDING IT HARD TO GET THE IDLE UP TO PAR TO GO FASTER.

THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V176000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE AT 60-65MPH AND SUDDENLY THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND LOOSE POWER. NO INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG UNTIL I PULLED OFF THE ROADWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. I EXITED THE VEHICLE RAISED THE HOOD. NEXT, I NOTICED ALL THE ENGINE OIL HAD BEGAN DRAINING OUT OF THE VEHICLE INTO THE GROUND.
WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND CAR JUST STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND TURNED OFF, WAS DRIVING AROUND 40 TO 50 MPH
THE SPARK PLUG COILD KEEP BREAKING BEFORE THEIR SERVACE INTERVAL. THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 60K TO 80K MILES BUT THEY KEEP FAILING AT AROUND 35K TO 40K MILES. THIS MAKES THE ENGINE MISFIRE AND IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION.
3-TIMES THE CAR'S ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF BY THE COMPUTER WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE STREETS. CAR INFO SAYS "FUEL PUMP, SERVICE SOON" AND THEN THE CAR WON'T START FOR AN HOUR. FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT TO BEVERLY HILLS BMW CENTER AND THEY REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. NEXT DAY, FUEL ALL OVER OUR GARAGE. TOOK IT BACK FOR THEM TO SECURE IT BETTER.NEXT MORNING WE GOT GAS ALL OVER THE GARAGE AGAIN. I HAD TO SECURE THE FUEL PUMP. I'M NOT CONFIDENT IN THE SERVICE AT BMW CENTERS BUT I REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR TURNING OFF WHILE YOUR IN THE FAST LINE ON THE FREEWAY. WE WERE ALMOST HIT BY A TRUCK THE THIRD TIME IT STOPPED.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP SO I HAVE TO RETURN THE CAR BECAUSE ALL THIS ISSUES AND NOW THE CAR IS FOR SALE AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP

MY SISTER WAS WITH ME AND WAS TELLING TO TO PULL TO THE SIDE BUT WITH NO POWER THE CAR WAS STIFF/SUFF AND BRAKES WAS ALSO STIFF. VERY SCRARY!THE VEHICLE WAS JUST RELEASED FROM THE DEALER 2/26/2019. ON A RECALL BLOWER MOTER WIRING AND RECALL PCV VALVE HEATER./CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON,ENGINE MAKING KNOCKING SOUND. ACCORDING TO DOCUMENTS.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO MY AUNT'S FUNERAL WHEN THE CAR STALLED IN THE LEFT TURN LANE AT A BUSY INTERSECTION IN THE CITY (DENVER; EVANS AND UNIVERSITY) AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I CALLED TRIPLE A AND A TOW TRUCK HAULED AWAY THE CAR AFTER BEING HONKED AT FOR TWENTY MINUTES, WITH OTHER DRIVER'S GOING AROUND US BY USING THE SIDE OF THE ROAD MEANT FOR DRIVER'S GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE GARAGE MECHANIC FROM AUTO STATION SAYS THAT THE PROBLEM IS BROKEN BOLTS ON CAM PHASER; THEY FOUND ONE BOLT; THREE OTHERS ARE MISSING. WE HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW ENGINE AT A COST OF OVER $7,000.

THE CONTACT WAITED FOR A CALL FOR WEEKS, BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ONE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

BLOWER MOTOR RECALL AND PCV VALVE RECALL. HELLO, I GOT A RECALL NOTIFICATION IN THE E-MAIL FOR THE PCV VALVE AND THE BLOWER MOTOR. I HAD ALREADY TAKEN MY CAR INTO BMW PREVIOUSLY TO HAVE MY VEHICLE WORKED ON BY BMW AND CARMAX FOR PROBLEMS ON THESE PARTS AND RELATING PARTS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD PLEASE TAKE A DEEPER DIVE INTO MY ISSUE. BMW HAS SAID THEY WILL ONLY REIMBURSE ABOUT $250 WHEN I PAID MUCH MORE THAN THAT BEFORE FOR THE PARTS DIRECTLY AFFECTED AND INDIRECTLY AFFECTED BY FAULTY PARTS. CAM BOLTS NEED REPLACING AND THOUSANDS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT NEITHER BMW NOR THE LOCAL DEALER CAN TELL ME WHY MY CAR ISN'T COVERED. THERE ARE MULTIPLE SERVICE BULLETINS AND RECALL NOTICES THAT INDICATE THE 3 SERIES FROM 2010 TO 2014 ARE COVERED; HOWEVER, FOR SOME REASON WHICH CAN'T BE EXPLAINED, MY CAR IS NOT COVERED.

BLOWER MOTOR WIRING: THIS RECALL INVOLVES THE WIRING FOR THE SYSTEM, KNOWN AS THE BLOWER-MOTOR, THAT CONTROLS AIR FLOW FOR THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. OVER TIME, THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE WIRING AND THIS SYSTEM COULD DETERIORATE AND, IN RARE CASES, COULD LEAD TO OVERHEATING. POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER : THIS RECALL INVOLVES AN ENGINE COMPONENT KNOWN AS THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER. THE PCV VALVE HEATER MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PRODUCED TO SPECIFICATIONS. CAR STARTED LOOSING POWER A MONTH VEHICLE STALLED ON THE ROAD WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALMOST CREATING AN ACCIDENT
TWO NHTSA RECALL NUMBERS: 17V676 AND 17V683 SINCE OCTOBER 2017 FOR DEFECTIVE PARTS IN ENGINE BLOCK AND BLOWER CONNECTION THAT CAN CAUSE OVERHEATING THAT MAY LEAD TO FIRE. SINCE THEN, MANUFACTURER HAS NOT MADE ANY SINCERE EFFORT TO GIVE DUE REMEDY AND IGNORE CONSUMERS' REQUEST FOR THE NECESSARY FIX TO PREVENT DANGER AND TO PROTECT CONSUMERS FROM BODILY INJURY INCLUDING DEATH.
ENGINE OIL LEAKING ONTO THE ROAD. OIL LEAKING FROM OIL PAN AND OIL FILTER HOUSING DRIPPING DOWN ONTO MY GARAGE FLOOR. BMW SAID DUE TO AGED AND ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THEM. BUT IT HAS ONLY 76K MILES AND SHOULDN'T BE LEAKING ANY DANGEROUS OIL ONTO TO PUBLIC ROADS. THIS IS JUST POOR QUALITY COMING FROM BMW AND THEY ARE PASSING ON THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR COSTS ONTO ME.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BMW 328I. WHILE DRIVING ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SMOKE ODOR ENTERING THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, ASHES WERE FOUND ON SEVERAL COMPONENTS OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BMW OF SAN FRANCISCO (1675 HOWARD ST, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94103, (415) 863-9000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL PAN GASKET LEAK AND AN OIL FILTER HOUSING GASKET LEAK THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

WHILE LOOKING UP THE RECALL FOR THE TAKATA RECALL, I NOTICED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE VANOS HOUSING BOLTS, I HAD NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL EVEN THOUGH I HAD UPDATED MY ACCOUNT WITH BMW AT FIRST NOTICE OF THE TANAKA RECALL. I HAD MY CAR SERVICED FOR THE VANO HOUSING REPAIR WHICH THEY REMOVED THE VALVE COVER TO INSPECT THE BOLTS AND FOUND A BROKEN BOLT ON THE VANOS HOUSING AND REPLACED THE EXHAUST, REMOVED AND INSPECTED THE OIL PAN TO REMOVE THE FRAGMENTS. I PAID FOR AN OIL CHANGE THAT DAY. LESS THAN 7300 MILES AND 2 QUARTS OF OIL LATER I WAS EXPERIENCING AN OIL LEAK THAT WAS CAUSED BY AN IMPROPERLY SEATED VALVE COVER NOT SEATING TO THE CYLINDER HEAD. THEY OFFERED TO REPAIR A BROKEN CYLINDER HEAD BOLT FOR $500 I DECLINED AS MY MECHANIC SAID IT DIDN'T...
