RE: Recall on 2011 328i Vin# [XXX] I drove the car to run an errand, car was running ok but had a miss. During my drive home, the car stalled. I had to quickly coast to a parking lot in order not to get hit by the car behind me. I tried to restart the car, but it acted as if it needed a jump. Tried to jump the car but it turned over slowly without starting. Ended up getting it towed to Metairie very early the next morning, due to parades. Had a friend of mine, a BMW shop owner, take a look at the car. He told me that he found out that it had a few recalls and he thought that may be the problem. I spoke with a service advisor at BMW dealer that checked the vin and said the recalls would be taken care of...
Nothing has malfunctioned yet on the vehicle, however, these recalls are putting my daughter at risk while driving as there is an air bag and engine recall on the vehicle. Every time we contact the dealership, the recall is still unavailable.
The contact owns a 2011 BMW 328I. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V513000 (AIR BAGS) and 23V707000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated while operating the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle failed to immediately start, and while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light flashed off and on. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The failure mileage was 110,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Received letter of recal Dec 2023 For recall Campaign No 23V-707 Is been almost two months and BMW not communicating with me to find solution letter said remedi unavailable Engine bolts may over time loosen and eventually break how they want public to drive like that this should be a priority is dangerous
1) Vehicle idling problem, it automatically accelerate while vehicle is idle and pcv valve problem is very prominent during the winter. 2) Airbag problem, automatically airbag is popping up.
The the OC3 MAT on the passanger car just showed up faulty which causes the air bag light to also come on. I have seen a lot of others posting they are having the same issue. Can you help me find out if this has already been recalled but not replaced on my car or if it hasn't even been recalled yet this is a safety issue. Because the airbags will not function if the oc3 mat is not functioning properly. There wasn't anyone in the seat and the car had not been in an accident when the lights for the seat and airbags came on I took it in for a diagnostic and they said it was the passenger OC3 mat . I have read some of the same modle had already had recalls just trying to find out if this was one that should have been because the...
Passenger restraint system malfunction alert when car is turned on. Air bag and passenger seatbelt warning lights are on. Passenger seat belt light will never turn off even with no passengers in the car. Air bags for passenger are off when there is a passenger in the car causing a safety concern. BMW wants $1000 to diagnose what the issue is for the airbag light only but not to fix it or check the seat belt light. Already paid them $100 just to tell me exactly what the message said on the car screen. Seeing the same issue all over the internet with flaws in the passenger restraint system for this model and similar models but no fix. Found an extended warranty but does not list the E92 model, all other models are listed.
I had my passenger in the car driving 30mm and then I got a “restraint system warning ⚠️ “ illuminating the seatbelt light and seatbelt with airbag light. This is a safety concern as it is still on without a passenger. This affects the passenger airbag so in the case of fatality this would fall on BMW NA for neglecting to fix this issue. The car was fine before and this came out of no where
When a passenger sits in the front passenger seat, the passenger side airbag seat sensor triggers and illuminates the airbag light, deactivating the passenger airbag. After it is triggered, the light stays illuminated, along with the seat belt light, for several drive cycles, without a passenger present, before resetting. This is a sporadic issue, but rather frequent. It began, very occasionally, approximately a year ago, but has progressively become worse. My research has shown this is a very common issue with BMW vehicles; however, my vehicle is not covered under any previous recall, although the seats are the same part number as those addressed in prior recall notices.
The airbag light and seatbelt light came on randomly. The airbag sensor is off, and the “passenger airbag off” light is illuminated even when there’s somebody sitting in the car. This is a major safety issue, as the vehicle doesn’t recognize when somebody is sitting in the passenger seat and wont deploy airbags when there’s a wreck.
My driver and passenger airbags deployed because my car all of the sudden lurched forward on it's own and I bumped the car in front of me and when it happened my car started accelerating and revving all on it's own into the car ahead and I was trying to make it stop by pushing the brakes but the brake pedal wouldnt move it was hard and wouldnt move so my car kept accelerating bumping the car in front of me over and over and I was stomping down on the brake pedal to make it stop but it wouldnt. After about 30 seconds of this it just stopped. The airbags were blowing out very hot air that burned and bruised my left arm very badley and myself and my minor passenger were choking from it. My driver side window and windshield were both broken from the explosion of the...
My son was injured by the impact of an accident on May 30th, 2021. He was driving when a car sped past him, lost control, slammed into the center median guardrail, then into the drivers side door of my sons car. The impact was strong enough to dent and puncture a large hole in the door, yet the side impact air bags did not deploy. Nor did any other air bag. we still currently have the vehicle.

AIR BAG IS BROKEN STEERING IS VERY HARD TO TURN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WENT OUT AND 1S GEAR IS HAVING PROBLEMS TAKING OFF. I FEAR FOR MY LIFE EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY ONLY CAR. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE RECALLS PROBLEMS
I GOT A PASSENGER RESTRAINT FAILURE LIGHT ON MY VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN. SAID LIGHTS TURNED ON AS I WAS TURNING TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY ROUTE 2 IN FITCHBURG MA. I HAVE HEARD THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH BMWS SINCE MID 2000S YET MINES IS NOT ON RECALL. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT CAN NOT CORRECT THE ERROR. I AM CONCERNED OF AN AIRBAG MALFUNCTION IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. HOPING YOU CAN ASSIST ME WITH THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE BMW OF PEABODY DEALER LOCATED AT 221 ANDOVER ST, PEABODY, MA 01960, AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE ANSWERING SERVICE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
I FEEL LIKE THE AIRBAGS EXPLODED ON MY FACE AND HIT MY HEAD. *TR
OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST 2 MONTHS I GET AN OC3 PASSENGER SEAT MAT ERROR. I NOTICED THAT THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS BUT MY CAR ISN'T COVERED.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS BROKEN ON PASSENGER SIDE IF NOT FIXED IT'S IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN. PURCHASED USED ON 7/1/19 FROM A DEALSHIPS AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO INCURE THE COST TO FIX IT. IF THE PASSENGER SEATBELT IS NOT BUCKLED WHETHER THERE'S A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT OR NOT IT WILL KEEP BEEPING UNTIL YOU PUT THE SEATBELT IN THE BUCKLE.
EVEN AFTER CLEARING THE FAULTS, I AM CONTINUING TO GET A WARNING OF A PASSENGER "RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION." BEST GUESS BY BMW MECHANIC IS THAT IT'S THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR MAT. I AM TOLD IT'S A "COMMON BMW PROBLEM." VARIOUS CHAT ROOM DISCUSSIONS CONFIRM THIS. SOME BMW MODELS HAVE HAD THE WARRANTY EXTENDED TO COVER THIS ISSUE (BY BMWNA) BUT NOT MY PARTICULAR MODEL. THIS IS A BMW-WIDE DESIGN FLAW THAT AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND BMW EXPECTS ME TO PAY TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE.
WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE THIRD PARTY DEALERSHIP, IT HAD AIRBAG PROBLEM, WHEN I TOLD THE GUY ABOUT THE PROBLEM. HE SAID HE WILL LOWER THE PRICE AND GIVE ME THE CAR. THE AIRBAG FOR THE CAR IS TOO EXPENSIVE SO HE DOESN'T WANT TO MESS AROUND WITH IT.
MY CAR HAS 66K MILES ON IT AND ABOUT A MONTH AGO, THE SEATBELT AND AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHTS SHOWED UP ON THE DASH. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THE FACT THAT THE SEATBELT DING GOES OFF WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN THE SEAT IF THE SEAT WAS HOT DUE TO SUN EXPOSURE. THE HEAT PANEL WAS REPLACED A FEW YEARS BACK FOR THE INCESSANT DINGING, BUT RETURNED A FEW MONTHS AGO. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT DING GOES OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT ARE CONSTANTLY ON WHILE THE CAR IS ON.
MY CAR ONLY HAS 62,900 MILES AND ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO THE AIR BAG ALARM CAME ON WITHOUT ANY SITUATION OR ACCIDENT OCCURED.
TAKATA RECALL AIBAG LIGHT IS ON IN VEHICLE. I BARELY DRIVE CAR AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS ON. WHEN I CHECK RECALLS 8 SEEN THIS MODEL IS AFFECTED BUT WHEN I PUT IN VIN NO CURRENT REVEAL. THIS IS VERY CONTRADICTING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I TURNED IT ON TO WARM UP AND THE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION CAME ON.
TAKATA- RECALL RELATED TO AIRBAGS,& SEAT BELT, HOWEVER WHEN YOU CALL THE BMW OF MEMPHIS THEY STATE THERE IS NO RECALL OR REMEDY FOR THE AIRBAGS & SEAT BELTS.. IT IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR AS EVERYTIME YOU IN THE CAR THE SEAT BELT LIGHT & AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON ALL THE TIME AND STAY ON. THERE SHOULD BE A NATIONAL RECALL WITH A REMEDY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AS SAFETY COME FIRST. HOWEVER, I HAVE CALL SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO REMEDY FOR AIRBAGS AND SEATBELT ISSUE.THE VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IN MOTION
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE RECIEVED SEVERAL RECALL LETTERS REGARDING MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NOTICED MY CAR DRIVING DIFFERENTLY, AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE BEING IN THE CAR OR HAVING OTHERS IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE READ THE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND IT HAS STATED THAT CAR CAN GO ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING OR NOT AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I WOULD LIKE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE MY FAMIY AND MY SAFETY COMES FIRST.
I AM RECEIVING A 'PASSENGER RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION' MESSAGE ON MY DASH AND THE SEATBELT AND AIRBAG LIGHT ARE STUCK ON. ONLINE BMW STATES "THE OC3 MAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER, WE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON SOME MODELS." I CHECKED WITH MY DEALER AND THIS DOES NOT QUALIFY. THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS SAFETY REPAIR. I CANNOT SAFELY HAVE ANYONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND THE SEAT CEASES TO MOVE AS WELL. MY DEALER STATES IT COSTS $1350 TO FIX AND THEY WOULD NEED TO ORDER IN THE PART AND HAVE MY VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SAFETY ISSUES SHOULD NOT HAVE AN 'EXPIRATION DATE' AS TO WHEN THE DEALER WILL OR WILL NOT COVER IT. THE CARE IS 7 YEARS OLD AND HAS 63,000 MILES. THIS DEFECT WAS COVERED FOR THE 2006 AND 2007 MODELS AND BECAME A RECALL. I SEE...
IN LATE 2017-EARLY 2018 THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING CHIME WOULD COME ON OCCASIONALLY WHEN SOMETHING LESS THAN 5 POUNDS WAS ON THE SEAT AND NO ONE WAS SITTING ON THE SEAT. EVENTUALLY, IT HAPPENED ALL THE TIME WHEN NOTHING AT ALL WAS ON THE SEAT. I ALWAYS NEEDED TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE SEAT BELT CONNECTED. I LEARNED IT WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND CONTACTED BMW DEALER IN EARLY 2018 WHEN THE CAR HAD 88254 MILES AND THEY SAID IT WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND WOULD COST ABOUT $1300 TO FIX THE AIRBAG SENSOR MAT. I FOUND A REPAIR PLACE TO REPLACE THE OC3 PASSENGER SEAT MAT WITH BMW PART FOR ALMOST $900. I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM UNTIL AUGUST 2018 I RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR THE EXACT SAME PART FOR OUR OTHER CAR, A 2004 X3 WHICH GAVE A WARRANTY...
TAKATA RECALL FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG INFLATED LATE AND SHOULDN'T HAVE AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS IN THE ROOF IN BOTH FRONT AND BACK SEAT. SIDE FRONTAL PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT INFLATE. CHEMICAL REACTION OCCURRED. AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BROKE MY LEFT HAND.
I WAS ON THE STREET. WHEN I GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON MAY 28 2017. MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AFTER I SLAMMED SOMEONE IN THE BACK BECAUSE MY BRAKES WERE NOT PROPYL WORKING. MY AIRBAGS ALSO SHOT OUT SOME METAL FRAGMENTS CUTTING MY HAND UP.
THIS 2011 BMW 3 SERIES WAS IN AN ACCIDENT SEP OF 2014 AND REPAIRED. THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG AND THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG WERE REPLACED. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO TELL US IF THESE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS ARE SAFE. THE REPAIR FACILITY CAN ONLY SAY THAT ALL PARTS WERE BMW PARTS AND THE AIRBAGS WERE TAKATA. HOW DO WE KNOW THE REPLACED AIR BAGS ARE OK.?
WHILE LOOKING UP THE RECALL FOR THE TAKATA RECALL, I NOTICED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE VANOS HOUSING BOLTS, I HAD NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL EVEN THOUGH I HAD UPDATED MY ACCOUNT WITH BMW AT FIRST NOTICE OF THE TANAKA RECALL. I HAD MY CAR SERVICED FOR THE VANO HOUSING REPAIR WHICH THEY REMOVED THE VALVE COVER TO INSPECT THE BOLTS AND FOUND A BROKEN BOLT ON THE VANOS HOUSING AND REPLACED THE EXHAUST, REMOVED AND INSPECTED THE OIL PAN TO REMOVE THE FRAGMENTS. I PAID FOR AN OIL CHANGE THAT DAY. LESS THAN 7300 MILES AND 2 QUARTS OF OIL LATER I WAS EXPERIENCING AN OIL LEAK THAT WAS CAUSED BY AN IMPROPERLY SEATED VALVE COVER NOT SEATING TO THE CYLINDER HEAD. THEY OFFERED TO REPAIR A BROKEN CYLINDER HEAD BOLT FOR $500 I DECLINED AS MY MECHANIC SAID IT DIDN'T...
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V071000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TOOLS. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER (GLOBAL IMPORTS BMW, 500 INTERSTATE N PKWY, ATLANTA, GA 30339, (800) 294-1853) WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY WHEN THE REMEDY AND PARTS WOULD BE SUPPLIED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD VERIFY WHEN THE PART WOULD BE SUPPLIED TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO WAITING FOR THE REMEDY AND PARTS FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT....
"TAKATA RECALL" WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WE WERE STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY A VEHICLE WHO THEN RAN FROM THE SCENE.THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT MY PASSENGER, JULIE COPPERSMITH LOST CONSCIOUSNESS FOR A FEW SECONDS FROM EITHER HITTING THE DASH OR JUST FROM THE VIOLENT MOVEMENT FORWARD. SHE WAS WEARING HER SEAT BELT BUT THE SHOULDER RESTRAINT FAILED AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE MALFUNCTION WAS ACKNOWLEDGED ON THE CARS INFORMATION SYSTEM.
THE VEHICLES RDC MODULE THAT COMMUNICATES TO THE TPMS GETS WET AND CAUSES A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. THIS MODULE ON IS LOCATED UNDER THE PASSENGER REAR WHEEL SPLASH SHIELD ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND IS EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS. THIS IS A POOR DESIGN AND LOCATION. FAILURE HAPPENED DURING VEHICLE OPERATION AND EVEN WHEN OFF AND IT CAUSES COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL SAFETY FUNCTION. IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WHEN RESEARCHING ONLINE.
WHEN WILL THE WIRING RECALL FOR MY CAR BE COMPLETED? I NEED SOME SORT OF UPDATED INFORMATION, AS MY CAR IS SITTING DUE TO SIGNING A FORM STATING I WILL NOT DRIVE UNTIL THE REPAIRS ARE DONE. THIS IS CAUSING OTHER ISSUES SUCH AS DEAD BATTERY, POSSIBLE TIRE DRY ROT ETC.... DUE TO SITTING FOR SO LONG I'M THE WEATHER WITHOUT MOVING. WILL ANY OTHER DAMAGES OR FAULTS BE COVERED DUE TO THIS?
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V071000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED GERMAIN BMW OF NAPLES (11286 TAMIAMI TRAIL N, NAPLES, FL 34110) AND WAS PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THEY RECEIVED 10-15 PARTS PER WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THEY WOULD CALL THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THERE ARE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON MY CAR WITH THE AIRBAG THE MOST PROMINENT, BUT THERE IS A MONTH WAIT TO GET THIS FIXED. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS FIXED ASAP AS IT FEELS LIKE IM DRIVING A TICKING TIMEBOMB.

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 17V683 POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER : THIS RECALL INVOLVES AN ENGINE COMPONENT KNOWN AS THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER. THE PCV VALVE HEATER MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PRODUCED TO SPECIFICATIONS. OVER TIME, IT COULD DETERIORATE AND, IN RARE CASES, COULD LEAD TO OVERHEATING.
TAKATA RECALL. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR'S DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG MAY CONTAIN THE TAKATA PSDI-5 INFLATOR, BMW HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO REPLACE IT. I WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR OR LET ANY OF MY FAMILY DRIVE IT UNTIL BMW REPLACES THE PSDI-5 INFLATOR OR DETERMINES THAT MY CAR HAS A SAFE INFLATOR. I SPOKE WITH A BMW-USA CUSTOMER REP. ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2017 AND HIS ONLY ANSWER TO ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS WAS, "THERE IS NO RECALL ON YOUR CAR!" HE WOULD NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT THERE ARE OVER 800,000 BMW CARS WITH FAULTY TAKATA INFLATORS YET TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED THAT MY CAR BE INSPECTED AND THE INFLATOR REPLACED IF IT WAS A PSDI-5 OR THAT BMW PROVIDE ME A LOANER CAR UNTIL THEY FINALLY DID FIX MINE. IF MY CAR CONTAINS THE PSDI-5 INFLATOR IT IS AS POTENTIALLY DEADLY NOW AS WHEN...
