On September 29, 2025, my vehicle overheated. Smoke was coming from the interior vents as well as from under the hood. I pulled over shortly after and had my vehicle towed to a repair shop. I got an estimate for radiator repair. That did not fix the issue, so more repair was needed related to a heating and evaporator core. I have attached the invoices for those repairs. I just wanted to note this for my records.
Recall for intake manifold for our ecodiesel 2016 Ram and you do not show a recall for our specific truck. Which, GM service has verified we need to replace the intake manifold. Hesitation, drag, engine light, etc...
The 3.0 eco diesel has a known defect involving the oil pickup tube clogging up with soot and diesel particles which then causes catastrophic damage to the engine and they blow up due to engine bearing failure which could lead to a safety issue while operating the vehicle on the roadways there are numerous videos online regarding this issue and it needs address and mopar needs to correct this and recall all the trucks and replace the engines and redesign the oil pickup tube to prevent the oil pickup tube from clogging up it’s unfair to the owners of the trucks and so many of the trucks are being scrapped due to the engine failure issues new engines cost $11-$18,000 to replace
The common hemi tech where lifter bearing seize up and eats the come. So common you can buy top end rebuild kits just for tha reason.
My Ram 1500 will randomly loose power while driving then pick back up, I have had several issues with electrical including lights flickering or going our for a minute then back on while driving at night, steering wheel controls not working, key fob issues, it also shifts hard at times others its normal. I was told all recalls have been done but personally can not confirm, had it looked at by several mechanics and cant find anything that they say would cause these issues.
I own a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle is covered under the EcoDiesel Approved Emissions Modification (AEM) Settlement extended warranty. Since the update in January 2025, the truck has suffered repeated EGR system failures and related warranty failures. The EcoDiesel lawsuit itself was based on EGR cooler defects that could leak coolant and cause fires. My truck has experienced the same failure pattern, with coolant leaks, overheating, and unsafe breakdowns. On [XXX], the vehicle shut off in the middle of the road while I was driving, creating a serious hazard. The cause was traced to a covered emissions component. This was not an isolated incident. The vehicle has been in dealerships for over 60 cumulative days since January 2025, mostly for repeated EGR codes and fuel system issues, but the root problem has never been properly repaired. On [XXX], the low-pressure fuel pump failed after it...
2016 RAM Ecodiesel in shop with crankshaft position sensor error. Vehicle available for inspection at Sarasota RAM. Vehicle shut down on highway. Restarted but only would operate in limp mode which enabled me to drive to dealer. Warning lights indicated crankshaft position sensor issue. I had W58 recall performed but not selected for W68 fix. I spoke to Phil (844-378-0573 Ext: 4060587) at RAM customer care, who stated "Our primary focus is your satisfaction" (customer care case #[XXX]). This problem is very evident by the many 1500 drivers complaints. Action to reimburse me for the repairs is required. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In September 2016 I purchased a new RAM 1500 echo diesel. On [XXX], I driving along [XXX] in southern Indiana. I lost all power, smoke started coming thru the dash vents, I get off the road, shut the engine off, raise the hood, a little smoke was coming from under the engine cover, popped it off didn't really see anything burning, I opened the air filter lid and and there was smoke, I blew the smoke out of it and replaced it. I got back in the truck, it started but still had no power. It idled fine. I called and towed it to John Jones Auto Group in Corydon, IN, this was all on [XXX]. I was contacted 30 June 2025 that the Intake Manifold had failed and needed to be replaced. I gave them the go ahead to replace it. They called me and told me it was...
The HPFP that has an unfixed recall on it went out and caused the engine to grenade itself
The engine on this vehicle has failed, it has 51,000 miles on it and involved in a class action lawsuit that closed in 2022. This truck was bought in 2023 with dealership not disclosing all of the failures in the vehicle. It is at a local shop requiring $16,000 worth of engine repair and we are demanding from Dodge to have help with repairs. We had and have a record of regular maintenance completed on this vehicle and is in immaculate condition.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was advised that the air filter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, months later the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was advised that the EGR cooler assembly, intake manifold, NOX sensor, and the exhaust particulate sensor were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 107,000.
Due to low oil pressure vehicle engine seized while driving on freeway. After having it towed to local dealer, I was quoted $19,000 to replace the engine because it could not be repaired.
I have found countless problems with broken bolts on the exhaust manifold on the web. Technical service bulletins have been written involving the problem. It is a known problem and continues.
ASB warning light is on Emergency brake light is on Check engine light is on Fuel cap light is on Backup camera doesn't work well Brakes are sluggish. ABS doesn't seem to be working. Hard to stop to avoid collision. 2 close calls. Dealer says no part available to fix. It has been over a year.
The Dealer did not complete this Safety Recall, They refused to follow up with the repair description of 73A which is part of this 66A they both have the same NHSTA Number. The vehicle seems to be more difficult to drive after getting it back from the dealer. I also noticed new cosmetic damages, and a missing cover under the fender-well. The vehicle was returned to me with an incomplete recall. My hpfp failed causing metal to get into the fuel rail and affecting the injectors causing a hot spot on a piston causing piston slap and engine failure was told about recall z46 dealership they didn't fix stellantis will not fix will not support the need for a engine replacement
—2016 Ram 1500 with 50,000 miles—ABS brake light and brake light came on. 2023 Took Ram into dealership to have it fixed and was told that the ABS module was out and that a new one would need to be ordered. Dealership said that they are on back order and I must pay for half of it before they order. I paid them to order it but it is still back ordered. Was told this is a common problem and should be a recall due to loss of braking. I also had them check a clicking noise and was told that the head of the bolt on the exhaust broke and was told by the dealership that this is a very common problem and should be a recall because exhaust is leaking at the manifold allowing for the exhaust to enter the cab possibly leading to exhaust toxicity. There are...
My truck was in the dealer for a 66A recall on the crankshaft positioning sensor. The recall states the magnetic material attached to the tone wheel if lost the engine loses its ability to synchronize injector pulse and cam timing. The fix was a PCM reprogram to maintain engine operation if signal is lost. There is a prior recall W68 which address the tone ring for replacement on 2014-2016 model code DS W68 states loss of crankshaft position. the fix under this recall is to replace tone wheel and crank shaft positioning sensor. Because they could lose magnetic material on the tone wheel causing loss of signal from the crankshaft positioning sensor to the PCM. my truck loss power and showed throttle positioning sensor fault and engine light came on . i brought my vehicle into the dealer they diagnosed code po336-00 crankshaft positioning sensor performance. on further inspection found...
To Whom It May Concern: In March 2024 I purchased a Ram 1500 pickup truck. Shortly after purchasing the truck I discovered there was an open recall for the vehicle (14Z46182 Safety Recall Z46), I had the recall completed on April 10, 2024; The High Pressure Fuel Pump, Injector Fuel Tubes, and Fuel Filter were replaced by Port Lavaca Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. A few months later I started having erratic check engine lights, hard starting etc. I had the codes translated at Auto Zone and it was determined to most likely be the High Pressure Fuel Pump failure. I dismissed that diagnosis as the high pressure fuel pump had recently been replaced. On September 6, 2024 my truck quit running and I had it towed to ROKS DIESEL to be evaluated for the cause. Roks Diesel checked it on September 16, 2024 and said the High Pressure Fuel Pump failed...
I have had several issues with this vehicle for over 1 yr, started having issues with the vehicle 3 months after purchasing it. I was unaware of any warranties on my truck because I bought it used. Called the dealership that I bought it from and they said I didn’t have a warranty on it. The truck would lose power while driving than it would show something about exhaust issue. Finally after around 6 months or so we had to take it to the shop to have it fixed paid over $2000 to have it fixed and it worked for some time but finally would not turn on and left us stranded. It has been over a year since we have been able to use the truck because now it has affected the motor. I am so desperate for some type of resolution. This is a recall issue and don’t understand...
Since buying our 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, we have had nothing but problems. In 2020 there was an EGR/coolant leak that was supposedly done. Upon getting the recall done, they said that the manufacturer has not yet made any equipment to fix the issue. They replaced our hose, but we have had to get it fixed almost annually since then. This is a lemon of a truck and FCA should be ashamed releasing a vehicle with so many issues and no fix in sight. It says our recall was "remedied", but even the service department said that there is no guaranteed fix because FCA has not released anything to actually fix this issue. We were without our truck for almost a month. Ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!
Husbands car started making a ticking noise and was loosing power while driving, so we brought it into the dealership. It will be $5796.58 to fix the rocker arms and camshaft. The estimate is for rocker arm roller failed damaging the camshaft. We are thankful that it has not caused any major incidents while driving that would casue serious harm to him and others on the road. Upon doing research we have found that this is a common issue with the engine that is in his Ram 1500, 2016. It was sold to us and we were not informed that this could be an issue. Again, we are thankful that he was not hurt before we were able to get it to the dealership.
Purchased the vehicle used in 2020, and shortly thereafter, noticed the engine idling rough. Determined that the throttle body was loose on the (plastic ) intake manifold. Attempted to tighten the throttle body screws per manufacturer torque specs, but they were stripped. Investigating this, the design employs sheet metal screws into untapped plastic manifold holes. I had to use high temp RTV to secure the throttle body on to the manifold. This worked for a couple of years, but the throttle body became loose again. Tried to get a replacement OEM manifold from the dealership, but after several months, was told that the part was unavailable. More importantly, the same poor design is incorporated in the replacement part. I had to re-apply the high temp RTV in order to secure the throttle body on to the manifold for the truck to function. I believe that this poor design poses a...
Lost acceleration, check engine light and warning light came on ‘Service Electronic Throttle Control’ Diagnostic code P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Truck has issues starting, once running, it idles rough and is in limp mode Appears to correspond with Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475
The last few weeks I’ve noticed my truck hasn’t been right. With some online investigation I realized the misfire code I been getting is related to a cam and lifter issue. Based on the forms I’ve viewed. The ram 1500 with the 5.7 engine has a known issue that the cams and lifters wear down after a very short period of time. I’ve seen cases of 60k miles up to 120k miles. This is a crucial part of the vehicle and there’s no reason this should only last for a short period of time. Especially with all these people who claim had to spend thousands of dollars on repairs or sometimes new engines entirely. I have older vehicles from the 2000’s with more miles than never have had issues like this. This is either a bad part that was produced or bad material of some sort. I’m hoping I’m not...
There was a recall for High Pressure Fuel Pump. Part ended up exploding and debris getting into fuel system, which made engine faulty. Found out just today there is a recall for ABS system, which ABS light has been on for 3 months The vehicle has shut off on the freeway 5 times, always on the freeway which was dangerous. The vehicle has been inspection and worked on by Ram dealership but they cannot find remedy for the vehicle. Yes the engine light was on and the ABS light is on currently. After new engine and PCM was installed the engine light went off but vehicle shut off last night which was (10/17/2024) now there is a red light blinking
The Safety Recall has been on for 2 to 4 years NHTSA # 22V406000 Manufacturer Recall Number Z48 I've got many E mails about repairing the safety recall and No Service available I knew the fuel pressure pump is available please respond it worries me a lot to I may get in an accident
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode with the checking engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the crank shaft had failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 177,300.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the message "Service ABS" remained displayed with the check engine and traction control warning lights remaining illuminated. Additionally, while attempting to stop the vehicle, the stopping distance was extended, and the cruise control was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ABS module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the ABS module was on backorder and unavailable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The vehicle suddenly started performing very erratically on highway. After inspection the camshaft and lifters are very damaged and the engine is constantly misfiring. I have performed regular routine maintenance on this vehicle its whole life. There is no reason these parts should be damaged unless they were defective from the beginning.
On Thursday July 18, 2024 at approximately 5:00pm. I was on my way home from picking my son up from daycare when the screen turned black and my shift knob light (above D letter) began blinking and about 10 seconds later the truck shut off completely. The key wasn’t able to be removed from the ignition. About five minutes later, I was able to turn the key and turn the truck back on. This was a frightening moment because I was crossing over railroad track when this started.
Engine ticking noise. Concerns about safety due to engine failure.
This complaint is to acknowledge a problem with my 2016 Ram 1500; I understand that NHTSA is currently investigating the issue. I urge NHTSA to require a recall on this in order to expedite a solution. The following warning lights are present: service ABS system, traction control, check engine, brake (parking brake engaged), check fuel tank cap; the turn signals also blink fast and problem message is present. Inspection is available upon request. The main safety concern is whether or not the brakes are functioning properly. It seems as though the dealer is aware of this widespread issue and the parts needed to fix the issue are unavailable and have been unavailable for an extended time. October 2023 is the date when I had the truck evaluated, if I recall correctly.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the ABS, Emergency Brakes, and Check Engine warning lights remained illuminated. It keeps saying parking light out. The engine light is now on and brakes and suspension are not good. Texas Crown auto sales or Crown auto sales sold me this lemon and I have only made 6 months of payments on it. It goes to the shop and stays at least three weeks every month In 2024. I have pictures and video of everyone that worked on it and sold it to me that they fired already.
Truck die for the second time Car is at Lake Wales Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Since [XXX] There is no estimate time to be release They mention about decal [XXX]/nhtsa [XXX] For high pressure Fuel Pump. I call FCA but no one care about. Telling than I have to wait for parts! This isn’t right when they not even offer a loaner. 1. The vehicle has steering issues and is no longer drive able. Steering difficulty began in mid to late August 2023. The steering is now impossible to use and vehicle to l is rendered inoperable. 2. Since purchasing the vehicle I have noticed the transmission is having issues shifting gears. The rpm will be high at speeds of 40-60mph, and the vehicle will only shift to a different gear if I take my foot off the gas pedal for an extended period of time. I had auto mechanic troubleshoot and repair what he thought was a dirty or faulty sensor. Issue continues.
There was a recall on my 2016, dodge ram eco-diesel for the crankshaft position sensor and tone wheel. I have tried to deal with the manufacture they said this is not in effect anymore, and my vehicle was not in it. I do not understand they recalled certain plants that made certain vehicles. Mine has same motor Same problems only 130,000 miles
Power Steering System Failure Complete Engine Failure Complete Lack of Power Check Engine Light came on March 19, 2024 and the Engine failed within 5 min of it coming on.
High pressure fuel pump went out. Dealer refuses to repair stating no parts available since 2022. I purchased vehicle used June 2023, did not know it had a active recall that said "do not sell". Pump went out 4 mo later while driving highway speeds, been parked at dealership for 4 months. No loaner, no attempt to repair, no apology, just say cant do a thing about the 2 year old recall. 1. seems bad faith to sell a flawed veh that has do not sell on recall. 2. no offer to trade it back, fix it or give loaner. 3. repair parts are all over internet including Mopar sales has over 2000 available, dealer said they have no parts.
Engine cooling filter housing is bad. There’s a recall for diesel engines but not 3.6 all needs to be recalled
Has had the "Hemi tick" ever since I bought it new. But didnt seem to effect performance, so I thought.......Time went on and the "tick" became louder and louder even though I got the oil changed religiously, air filters, tires, (2) tune ups, all proper maintenance was performed for the livelihood and longevity of the truck accordingly and have receipts to back up that claim. Now, at about 100,000 miles i had to replace the rear differential and axle of which i noticed was a recall of the same year and same truck but they say according to my vin number there are no recalls.......well, we need to include my truck in some of these because ive already paid out of pocket for the same problem listed in the recall. Also, regarding the active class action "HEMI TICK" lawsuit, low and behold, as i accumulated more miles, it gravitated to...
2016 ram ecodiesel engine failure, low oil pressure Vehicle died in heavy traffic Reproduced by dealer, excessive amounts of metal in oil, no one else inspected. Tried to file complaint with manufacturer however they denied my claim case #[XXX]. No support by manufacturer too many miles. This is a known defect with this engine with many warranty claims. No repair parts available back ordered for up to a year. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Lack of action on an existing NHTSA recall. FCAUS has failed to act on NHTSA recall 22V-406 for the high pressure fuel pump. Today I contacted the local Ram dealership service department and was told that they do not have a waitlist to fix the issue, or any idea when repair parts will become available. This is 566 days after the recall was announced in June 2022. The inaction of FCAUS/Stellantis is a danger to the livelihood and safety of owners of affected vehicles and the safety of drivers that share the roads with owners of affected vehicles.
Good afternoon, I have filed multiple complaints regarding recall 22V-406 (11501200, 113003170). It has been over 1.5 years since the recall was issued and there is still not resolution. The NHTSA site mentions if there isn't a fix within a reasonable time, then to contact you again. 1.5 years does not seem reasonable when it comes to a safety hazard. The last update I received from NHTSA was letters will be mailed 12/14/23 and wanted to confirm this timing hasn't slipped. Thank you in advance, [XXX] Vin [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the message motive power reduced was displayed. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact drove for twenty miles at a reduced speed to his destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with a failed exhaust filter. The contact was informed that the exhaust filter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed that the repair was completed; however, the recall repair was not completed. The dealer...
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from then vehicle and then smelled fumes coming from the vehicle. The check engine warning light and check fuel cap warning light were illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 71,625.
The electric power steering system went out while driving. The truck had been checked for codes that day which indicated a possible need to replace the egr valve but nothing about power steering. I was in a parking lot and was able to pull into a space but was unable to get home.
I was driving some type of explosion occurred the engine have not been operating properly. I wanted to report the incident.
