The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the engine power was reduced. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to respond while accelerating, and failed to exceed 60 MPH. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was diagnosed that the intake manifold had failed. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the intake manifold was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PATTERSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM- TYLER (3120 S SW LOOP 323, TYLER, TX 75701, (903) 561-2404) TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOLTS HOLDING THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD IN PLACE WERE BEGINNING TO FRACTURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOLTS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BOLTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 60,075.
