2016 RAM 1500 Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking Problems

2016 Dodge Ram 1500 truck apparently this is a known issue and the module to fix the antilock brake is impossible to get. I have been researching this and I have thus far not only my year make and model truck but other Dodge trucks with the same failure and not able to get the module. The Dodge Dearler in Hayesville NC ordered this part and I call frequently to inquire as to its arrival. this is a safely issue that need to be addressed

I was involved in a crash that resulted in a fatality on [XXX]. My truck was towed to Five Star Collision Center in Hurst, TX. The repairs were made to the body of my truck. I picked up the truck and ABS warning lights came on. I called Fove Star Collision Center and spoke to my point of contact- Nathan Hultquist. Nathan advised that I should drive the truck back immediately. I took the truck my to Nathan. He advised that I should drive the truck to the closest Dodge dealership. I did so. My ABS Module is out on my 2016 Ram.The warning lamps came on- service brake system, service trailer brake, ABS light stayed illuminated. This appeared 150 days ago. The automatic brake system (ABS) module has failed. Warning lights on the dash are for brakes, traction control and automating braking. The lights are frequent but not constant. When lit, the vehicle loses 4 wheel drive and cruise control. Sudden loss of cruise control at highway speeds is a safety hazard. Loss of 4 wheel drive in inclement weather is also a hazard. The truck was inspected by a Ram dealer and the ABS module was identified as defective. This was in June of 2024. As of today the replacement module from Mopar is still unavailable and currently showing “under engineering review” in the manufacturers system. The availability date for the part has been “rolling” since my initial issue in June. The Ram dealership and the Ram Customer Service team cannot provide a solution or a firm date of resolution. Sir/Ma'am, My Ram 2016 Ram1500 has been at the local Chrysler Dealer for approximately three months. The ABS and HCU needs to be replaced, however the dealer is unable to order the parts due to an ongoing engineer review which renews every 29 days. This is the same issue affecting the 2019-2024 models which have now been recalled following an NHTSA investigation which found that -- due to a software malfunction, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module may disable the electronic stability control system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems." I request the NHTSA also initiate an investigation into the 2016 Ram 1500 in order to expedite the recall of this model as well. Thank you.

the abs module brake setstem has not been working properly for about 9 to 10 months. when I call to see if dealership they keep telling that their engineers are still working on the problem. the problem can go out anytime. i would like for the NHTSA to investagate the problem. I was told that this problem is a big safety problem.

Abs control module not letting my truck go in gear

My ABS control module is defective, no replacement parts are available. Antilock braking and traction control does not work. Warning lights are on, malfunction confirmed by independent repair shop.

ABS CONTROL MODULE FAILED. LOSE OF TRACTION CONTROL, CRUUSE CONTROL, AND ABS. DEALER CONFIRMED BY DIAGNOSTIC TEST. DEALER STATED THE CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN PULLED FROM MARKET BY ENGINEER FOR DESIGN REVIEW. PART IS UNAVAILABLE.

The ABS and traction control lights come on and off intermittently. When on the cruise control also doesn't work. No traction control or Automatic braking control. Seems to be a common problem with RAM 4x4 trucks.

The ABS Module has Failed at 66,829 miles. I just left the Dealership Magic City 1750 Independence Blvd, Bedford, VA 24523 who advised me that they have had other trucks with the same issue. This Part is not available "under engineering review until March, 2024" and the same part has been re-engineered 3 times already. I currently have a warranty that will expire before the part is available.
