My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.

While driving vehicle it suddenly began shaking uncontrollably and then lost power. Very easily could have lost control and been involved in a collision with another vehicle or lost control and go off of roadway. After having vehicle towed to repair shop it was diagnosed with a premature detonation causing the pistons and valves to become damaged beyond repair.

Manufacturers spark plug broke off into engine and destroyed my engine. Vehicle only had 76,000 miles on it. When I ordered a new engine from Jeep there was a wait of 10 weeks with about 20+ people in front of me. I sent the spark plug to Jeep and they will not return it. I do have pictures on my phone. There’s still 20+ people waiting on an engine. This seems to be a massive problem with the vehicle costing people thousands. It should be investigated at the very least.

In December I started noticing that I would have to pump the accelerator to get the vehicle to go but was fine once it was going. On December 10th while driving and stopped at a red light the truck cut off, I quickly turned on the flasher and tried to restart the truck. This happened every time I stopped. At that time the check engine light came on. After pumping the gas again I got it started. This happened 5 times by time I got home. I contacted a friend who is a mechanic and he informed me that I needed to get it to a shop. I did not drive it for 3 days, but upon driving it to put gas in it, I noticed that again I had to pump the gas pedal to get it going. When I reached a stop sign it cut off again. I...

On a regular basis (AT LEAST 1 x daily) I will be driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and when I stop at a light, stop sign, parking spot, or the start/stop component turns off the engine, the power to my vehicle completely fails. The vehicle will turn off completely. The dash panel, radio, everything will completely turn off. This has caused me to be stuck in the middle of the street, and it also has happened in the parking garage of my job, causing me to hit the wall next to a parking spot. There are no warning lights when this happens, there is no check engine light that come on after. I have taken it to a mechanic and since there is no check engine light on the dash panel, the OBD is not able to pull up any codes. Due to this issue, I have disabled the start/stop...

When I am at a stop like a stop sign or light the engine will sometimes stall not allowing me to drive. It won’t go which is extremely dangerous. The car will have lights come on about airbags or it’ll be passenger seat belt when I don’t even have a passenger in the car. The brakes have locked up on me when coming to a stop the brakes have gone rock solid allowing no movement and I’ve almost hit other cars due to it locking up and not stopping. You would have thought someone out a rock under my brake. All of this has happened multiple time.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that after stopping and restarting the vehicle, the failure self-corrected. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light and 4WD message was intermittently displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the power transfer unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN). During acceleration to pass another vehicle, my engine had lost all power and acceleration and I had to make a split decision to brake and maneuver my vehicle back into my lane behind multiple vehicles who were behind me before I attempted to pass. Had there have been oncoming traffic within that mentally unaccounted time that I was in the opposite lane, I could have been in a very large deadly accident. Cylinder 1 and 2 are testing at 0 compression, Oil is leaking into the turbo and out of the exhaust. I have had regular oil changes and a tune up with the mentioning of a low power and jolting issue during acceleration and the dealership did not look into my concerns other than their simple findings of one burnt spark plug, I had all 4 replaced at that appointment, the engine is broken about 6 months later.

When I put my car in park it began to smell as if something was burning. Within a few days, my car began leaking oil. I brought it to my mechanic, who let me know that my oil cooler was leaking. He let me know that this is a very common issue with Jeeps and Jeep is very well aware of it. He let me know that the oil cooler that Jeep uses is known to be faulty. I had it fixed by my local mechanic. There were no lights on in the Jeep and absolutely no notification that there was an issue. The oil life stated it was at 89%, which coincided with when I had my oil changed last. This issue went completely unnoticed by my car with NO alert to the driver. Had I not noticed the smell or recognized that my car was leaking, this could...

Consistent hard, sudden shifts, jerking, shaking, and shuddering during gear changes. The vehicle also stalls and experiences shift delays. The vehicle also abruptly shifts to neutral while driving at various speeds.
#11633615 |
Engine failed while driving down the highway. Vehicle was towed to local repair shop, per their report cylinder two had zero compression. This was inspected with boroscope, cylinder walls and piston looked undamaged. Cylinder leak down test showed that vehicle has blow by to the crank case indicating a piston or ring failure. Their recommendation was for new engine/long block. Per the report there are no engines available because of national shortage and backorder and no anticipated date of availability. Attached below our invoices for diagnostic testing as well as estimates or new engine or long block.

The car has been running out of coolant the past couple of months with no known visual leaking problems. I brought it to the mechanic who stated the radiator had to be replaced. No warning prior. No leaking or lights coming on. Another issue the uconnect subsystem powers on and off whenever it wants. Switches from GPS. Radio, heating and a/c. Causing distraction to the driver. I have not been able to know why it is happening. Went from several times a month to now daily.

My engine just went out without warning. Haven’t had it for a full year and it went out. I was driving to work and my car wouldn’t go above 50 and it started to jerk so I had to pull over and it was smoking from the hood. I had oil in my vehicle so I don’t understand how this happened on a new vehicle I just purchased.

Vehicle was purchased used with an aftermarket warranty. At around 120,000 miles vehicle start stop would intermittently quit working. Vehicle has always had a gear shift hard when accelerating quickly. Currently needs an engine replacement after check engine light came on first it said the code was for auxiliary cooling system, planned to take it to get checked out the following day but while on the way there it sounded like something popped and the vehicle was running rough and when turned off didnt want to start back up. Was informed that an engine replacement was required. That would be $14000 to fix unless my warranty covers it which I am still a month later waiting for the engine to be torn down so waranty can see point of failure. It seems like 2019 Jeep Cherokees are becoming known for engine issues which is far from being fair to the...

I was driving in city traffic and when I tried to accelerate, the Jeep would not increase in speed. It caught per se and nothing happened. Then, the Jeep started downshifting very hard upon slowing. When we went to the dealer and spoke with the technician, he immediately said that the computer needed updating. He said he's been seeing this a lot in these models. Sure enough, $300 dollars later and an upgraded computer, it is driving fine. I want to add that the dealer and service department was great, I just think this problem is somehow on Jeep's end.

Stalling while driving slow. Stalled in traffic. Had to pushed off the road. Started running after a few minutes. Stalled 2 more times while i was leaving home. Would not start again for a few days each time. Alot of sensors are flashing. Has not been looked at by any dealership. Engine shuts down while driving

My family and I drove from San Antonio, TX to El Paso, TX on [XXX]. In the car were 4 passengers, including a 11 month old child. At the start of the drive, a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable" was seen. The alert showed 1 time and upon a quick search online, was seemingly insignificant. It never showed up again during the drive. We did leave around 4pm so the sun was out and hot, we believed it to be a temporary warning that would not affect our drive as we did not need 4WD during the drive. The jeep did not have a lot of miles on it and was only serviced at the dealership at appropriate windows as recommended by professionals. Once we reached El Paso, a strong smell occurred. Followed shortly by fire and flames coming from the front area, under the hood, near...

While coming to a stop the vehicle just died while in traffic. Managed to get to an auto zone and the code was p018c fuel pressure sensor B circuit low. The stop/start feauture also just randomly stops working. Jeep has no answer to this. The vehicle dying while in traffic could be deadly.

We have had numerous incidents with our vehicle starting at about 20,000 miles and still happening at 39,000 miles. While driving all of the lights come on, on the dashboard while at the same time the car loses power - losing brakes and power steering. Most recently, the car locked itself after closing the door, the radio has completely turned off to a black screen, eventually restarts itself. While stopped at a red light, it felt like I got rear ended, a bang sound and the car jerked forward. We have only had Jeep dealerships work on the car. The PCM has been replaced, as well as the alternator. They did find a small wire that was rubbing and repaired that as well, However, the problem still persists. This is a major safety issue, I feel this car should not be on the road, we are lucky that no one...

Engine started running rough, MIL light came on and flashing after 10 minutes of highway driving. Found code P0300 for random misfire, monitors cylinder misfire with scan tool and found cylinders 1 and 2 misfiring. Tested coils, checked spark plugs and tested fuel injectors, no issues found. Performed compression test and found cylinders 1 and 2 with 8-15psi. 3rd and 4th cylinders at 160 psi. Engine teardown needed, used engine prices are high hinting this is happening often. Vehicle had 73,389 miles and been maintained well.

while driving the car at 40 mph it just quit running! engine completely out causing driver to swerve. Vehicle behind had to swerve around to avoid collision. There was no accident and nobody was injured but a close call! Two different shops (one being the certified Jeep/Chrysler mechanic) confirmed total engine faulure! The first shop told me that the turbo fatally failed and sent metal shrapnel through the air intake ports and scored and scratched the inside of the cylinder walls. Then oil passed through the motor and through the entire exhaust system ruining the catalytic converter and all sensors in the motor and exhaust system. There were no warning lamps or warnings of any kind. The car is less than 5 years old and has approx 76,000 miles. Cost to repair: $17,260

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The START/STOP System warning light was illuminated. The contact parked and restarted the vehicle to correct the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The engine shut down on the highway going 70 mph. There were no warning signs or lights. The dealership confirmed that it was a defect in the engine. The car only has 59000 miles.on it and 6 weeks out of warranty. We put a claim into Chrysler and they approved, it's been 3 months since this happened. I am currently still waiting to get my car back. As of this week, the dealership is currently replacing the engine.

1. Component/system failed: PTU 2. My vehicle completely shut off and became disabled while driving - this put my safety and the safety of others at risk. 3. The problem was confirmed at the dealership. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by certified mechanics at the dealership. 5. There were no prior warning lights or signs/symptoms of the problem before failure.

PCM fails intermittently. Dealership is replacing it and has the defective one. Safety is definitely an issue because the vehicle stalls without adequate time to pull off of the road. Unable to move it off the road because it does not engage the transmission. Dealer has been able to replicate and confirmed the problem. Component has not been inspected by anyone other than the mechanic at the dealership. Several warning lights go off just as the problem occurs but not in time to get out of unsafe situations. Recall #18V524000 on 8/8/2018 covers the problem I am experiencing but my vehicle is not in the VIN series covered by the recall. I strongly believe the series my car belongs to should be included. This is a safety issue.

The car turned off and the battery light came on. The engine then was out of oil and all the engine oil burned up prior to the oil change light coming on or signaling that the car was out of oil.

08/31/2023 my car was overheating and making a gurgling sound. I took it to a shop 9/1/2023, got it inspected and it was the heater hose. It got fixed. Now 8 months later this month 5/20/2024 my Jeep is having same issues with the car overheating. This is really risky for me especially when I take my daughter and nieces to school. I use my car to get to work. It is currently getting inspected again. I'm concern if this is a problem with the coolant system in all? I got this Jeep used at a dealership 10/2022. I have been googling what can I do, if there is a possibility that it has a recall? I came across this website. If someone can help me please. Thank you!

On multiple separate occasions, the engine and transmission have failed catastrophically leaving the vehicle without power and unable to perform emergency maneuvers. After only months of owning the vehicle, the engine block cracked and was misdiagnosed by dealer 2 times. I was forced to drive the faulty and dangerous vehicle 1.5hrs back to the dealer on a busy interstate and vehicle was improperly repaired with very little actual diagnosis. AUL warranty covered engine replacement and I was unable to drive the vehicle for up to 4 months as a result. I finally got my vehicle back and drove it for approximately 4 months, and now the PTU has failed totally, causing me to lose control while cornering due to loss of power to the wheels, transmission began to grind badly and the vehicle rolled freely for a long distance before stopping via brake pedal. I was then stranded on a...

Engine oil cooler cracked allowing oil to be leaked onto the ground, all over vehicle, and also back flowing into the radiator. This is a know problem due to the fact that oil cooler is plastic. This issue is a potential fire hazard and could contaminate the ground. The issue is hard to locate.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine, yes. has not been repaired yet While driving on the freeway between Phoenix and Flagstaff at around 75mph (speed limit). The engine completely failed causing me to have to pull over to the side of the road on a hill, luckly there was enough of a shoulder on the road to pull off safely and await a tow. Car would not start after the engine failed. Upon towing the car to a dealership I was informed that they found metal through the engine and it will require the engine to be replaced. Engine type 2.0L turbo Milage: ~46k

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an oil leak into the engine causing two cylinders to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,400.

I took my vehicle to a local dealership to have the "auto stop start" system checked. I had a dashboard warning light indicating the system was not working correctly. No other warnings signals were displayed. The dealership performed a diagnostic check but found no problems with the "auto start stop system". The day after I picked up my car, I drove for ten miles and the car overheated. I contacted the dealership and was told to check radiator fluid and drive the car back if possible. I found no radiator fluid in the car. My car required a full engine replacement and several subsequent repairs to exhaust system and driveshaft. An engine can overheat and seize which can cause drivers to lose control and crash. Please note: The original engine was part of recall for oil consumption. Prior to the recall update, I experienced stalling in traffic without warning due...

While driving along, my jeep will suddenly lose all power, making it necessary to stop, place it in park, press my foot on the brake and re-start. There is absolutely no warning, no chugging or hesitation, it just dies. This is random and has occurred 4 times now. There has not seemed to be a pattern. The first time, I left my dooryard and within a couple hundred feet, it happend. The second time, I had been driving about a mile and it happened, the third time I had driven about 3 miles and it happend and this last time (this morning)my vehicle had been running idle for about 15 min, I drove about 5 miles and it just suddenly died. All of these events occurred without any kind of warning.
