NHTSA Complaint #11637963 — 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that after stopping and restarting the vehicle, the failure self-corrected. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light and 4WD message was intermittently displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the power transfer unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 70,000.
