NHTSA Complaint #11578423 — 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Altitude. The contact stated that his daughter was driving at approximately 70 MPH when the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that no warning lights were illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that a connecting rod had punctured the engine block, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 40,507.
