2015 JEEP CHEROKEE Electrical System Problems

After learning of the recall for the lift gate module because of water intrusions of multiple points. The wiring harness to the lift gate module was serverly corroded and had to be replaced. The original fix, without the corrosion on the harness, was the place a piece of plastic over the module. That recall and fix did nothing to address the issues of multiple points of water intrusions. From body seems, the seal around the hatch, and around the tail light(s). There is more than one harness, and more than one module in the tire well. The multiple water leaks, that can and have affected an electrical component the was deemed as being a potential to start a fire, and none of the others in there are. Check engine light on 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport turned on, vehicle "went limp". Pulled over, turned car off, waited, turned car back on. Happened again taking car to dealership. The dealership said "code for trans range sensor p1726. reset trans and test drove. code did not come back". Same thing happened again a week later. Took it to Firestone, code was "TCM P1726-00 Transmission Manage Sensor "C" circuit High. They said it sounded like the Recall Number 16V529000/S55. I took it back to the dealership, they said the recall, despite being for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee didn't apply and noted "Same code P1726 set in TCM. Going to need range sensor and TCM replaced."

The vehicle suddenly started showing parking brake, traction, ABS, and check engine lights after being started. Earlier in the day, I had also started the vehicle but cancelled the errands and returned to start it later when the dashboard and warning lights came on. Putting it in reverse, the steering was stiff as if in neutral. Never left the driveway as I wasn't taking a chance in steering or braking. The battery is less than a year old. This is the second time this has happened.

Vehicle was driving and working just as it should, up until two mornings ago, I start the jeep, shifted into gear and it got stuck in neutral. Service parking brake came on, traction control claims to be on even after pushing the button a couple different times to try and disengage it, odometer flashes when car is fully on(not in acc mode), check engine light is on. Electrical system/Transmission malfunctioned causing engine to shift into neutral while driving and cause engine to shut down and refuse to start again. The issue seems to only happen whenever the engine is up to temperature and the fan is active. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealership and they said the throttle body was the issue, after replacement the issue still persists. There is no warning lights or symptoms. It will happen either at rest or in motion. I was driving yesterday and it happened after I had completed a lane change and was almost hit by a semi. This is not the first instance of it occurring.

My vehicle - at random - will switch to traction control, 4x4, and will slow down while driving, and will not allow me to go above 45 mph, with the engine rpm’s revved as high as if I’m driving 85 mph. Hi, There are numbers of recalls and 3 of the recalls came back. I got engine light with the codes U0402 Implausible Data Received From TCM U0164 Lost Communication With HVAC Control Module TCM BCM and PCM needs to be reprogrammed or replaced. Also car is accelerating while cruise control is set. Fca satisfaction notice - R01 Fca recall - S55 Nhtsa recall - 16V - 529 Fca recall - U63 Nhtsa recall - 18V - 332 These 3 recalls need to be redone. Thanks

It was recalled before for water getting into the trunk causing electrical issues(even fires). I brought it to a dealership to have it fixed, water is still getting into my vehicle. Dealership said there is nothing we can do since the recall is gone.

The service shifter light comes on intermittently on my 2015 jeep Cherokee latitude. Service shifter light comes on dash and all lights on the shifter assembly are solid red. The service shifter light will not go off until the car is turned off and back on. It causes the heads up display to be blocked until the vehicle is turned off to reset the lights. The transmission feels like it is missing a gear or slipping between gears just before the service shifter light comes on. It does not have a solid time that it comes on. You can be driving down the road and it just comes on or you can be putting the car into reverse and it comes on. The jumper and bezel along with the shifter assembly has been replaced 2 times already. The first time it was replaced at my cost on April 8, 2022....

Parking brake automatically engaged and left me stranded. I had it towed to the dealer and they found water in the spare tire compartment dealer . The repair tech said that water had damaged the parking brake module as well as others . I do not live in any area that has been flooded

Jeep has never been in accident properly and regularly maintained when driving on freeway all of the sudden out of nowhere service airbag system and service park brake pop up I was fearful for my life when getting home not knowing if airbags will work heaven forbid I get in car accident or car may roll over onto street because park brake is not working I went to dealership and asked what's wrong with viechole did manufacturer put in faulty airbags or installed broken brake they refused to tell me what the issue is unless I pay them over $500 just to know what's wrong with car I told them car was never in accident properly maintenanced the problem has to be with manufacturer they said unless I pay $500 they will not tell me what's wrong with the jeep please investigate jeep for failed car parts.

Service Shifter Error comes on and off consistently -- dealer said that this error is known and common and has been going on for many many years. There is no "fix" to the problem and replacing the entire console is the only way to try to remediate the problem but this often does not work. It is incredibly expensive to concerning.

I have had this shifter on my car changed and serviced 4 times and I still have an issue. The car keeps saying service shifter everytime I reverse. Barking brake module needed to be replaced. Car roof was leaking causing major damage to my car. I have all paperwork of services. Jeep tells me that because my car is not under warranty they can not assist me. I spent about 5k on fixing this car alone not including payments. I took this car to who jeep referred I also took it to the dealership I brought it from and same issue until this day. I gave up!!!!

The Electronic Parking Brake has malfunctioned because water has leaked into the liftgate. Randomly an audible alarm sounds and the dash indicates "Service Shifter" while the digital dashboard indicators do not allow to navigate away from that notice, and all of the lights on the transmission indicators illuminate. I called the dealer and they said they were aware of issues with that, but no recall exists. Stellaris (Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep) issued an urgent recall for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk in May, 2023, related to the electric liftgate (recall 49A), notifying me that I should not park my vehicle indoors, as it can spontaneously catch fire. I can neither park in my garage at home (which violates my HOA terms) nor at work (which is underground) and be in compliance with the recall. I'm also unable to sell the vehicle back to the dealer. As of today, 1/29/2024, nine months later, I talked to both my local dealer and FCA directly on their helpline. There is no repair available and FCA confirmed by phone that there is 'no timeline available' for parts availability. This is unacceptable, as recall repairs should be completed in a timely fashion. I have a recall for the electrical system due to a possibility of fire with or without the ignition on. I've called several dealerships to get this taken care of only to be told there is not a solution yet, that their waiting lists are backed up, that they can't help me, etc., and I cannot get in touch with the manufacturer. This recall is serious enough that they recommend not to park it near any structures in case the vehicle catches on fire. Obviously, this vehicle is not safe to drive. I am wanting options in terms of replacing the vehicle which the dealerships and manufacturer are not being forthcoming with.

Parking brake engaged and had to be manually overridden to disengage. Upon further research on the internet and taking apart the rear I found a water leak from the power liftgate and the electronic power brake module to be corroded.

There is still no remedy for my vehicle, the rain water got inside my vehicle and made the seats/ carpet moldy and still smells like mold after 3 interior cleanings and months of keeping up with cleaning. Water still gets through. The back tailgate doesn’t work due to the recall and I’m not sure what to do. I would like the manufacturer to take it back and give me the amount I’ve paid for it through finance.
