Check engine light on 2015 Jeep Cherokee Sport turned on, vehicle "went limp". Pulled over, turned car off, waited, turned car back on. Happened again taking car to dealership. The dealership said "code for trans range sensor p1726. reset trans and test drove. code did not come back". Same thing happened again a week later. Took it to Firestone, code was "TCM P1726-00 Transmission Manage Sensor "C" circuit High. They said it sounded like the Recall Number 16V529000/S55. I took it back to the dealership, they said the recall, despite being for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee didn't apply and noted "Same code P1726 set in TCM. Going to need range sensor and TCM replaced."
My vehicle - at random - will switch to traction control, 4x4, and will slow down while driving, and will not allow me to go above 45 mph, with the engine rpm’s revved as high as if I’m driving 85 mph. No mechanic has been able to accurately diagnose it, and I continue to pay for different repairs, without getting the problem actually solved.
Hello my jeep got a message of service 4 wheel drive so i brought it to the dealership. the looked at it and it turns out to be a failing PTU. Jeep did a recall and extended warranty on it but they are saying they will not cover the cost of the repair because its the wrong code. I have code C14A797 and they are saying they need code P14A797. This doesnt even make sense its the same exact faulty part but different codes??? Codes they the car company creates?
After driving a vehicle for a few minutes the lights will flash pretty badly, the service transmission light comes on, on the dash and the car enters limp mode, and the fan comes on, you are unable to move the vehicle it will not go forward or backwards. The vehicle runs perfectly smooth until this happens without warning. Additionally, the service air bag light came on, on the dash but if you turn the car off and back on the lights will go away and you can resume activity as usual. The cars lights and horn goes crazy even when you are not in the vehicle or driving it and does not have to be on when it does this. PTU completely bad...just purchased the vehicle and it went bad less than a month after
Electric Throttle Control. It will stop working randomly and when accelerating on the highway on the on ramp it will die down and go no more than 35 mph and will also do this when merging into traffic.. very dangerous
Once I stop my vehicle doesn’t accelerate normally and jerks right after. Also the service shifter light came on and won’t go off.

Transmission has malfunctioned, will not properly shift into higher gears, when stopped is not able to be put into park. Issue started with not warnings, was driving perfectly fine before. Cruise control has failed, parking brake has malfunctioned, and power steering has malfunctioned.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undetermined speed, the vehicle was bouncing. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle was shifting roughly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, on another occasion while driving, the vehicle independently accelerated. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Pressing on the gas and the car does not move. Randomly stops and I would have to turn it off and back on in order for it to drive.
While in first and second gears, the car doesn't seem to know which gear to shift to. It jerks in and out of both gears and is even worse on inclines. Happens mostly under 15mph.
Transmission control module and speed control I couldn't exsellerate while driving in traffic and my car would lock up in neutral and wouldn't allow me to turn off the engine and it was flashing all sorts of problems at once, it would also jerk when I shifted the mechanic first told me I needed a battery and then said I needed a flash update and when none of those problems resulted in fixing my car he then said my Transmission control module was bad so now my car is inoperable so I took it to the dealership and I'm waiting for results. THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT POPPED ON ONLY AFTER HAVING IT FOR 2 MONTHS.
Car stalls multiple times over the last month. With zero warning it died in front of my wife in ongoing traffic. Multiple error messages are on dash. Restarts when shutting car off then back on.
When I go to put the the vehicle in park and reverse it wants to shift really hard, not really a shift but more of a jerk. It doesn’t happen every time but it does 50 percent of the time. There was this one time where i went to go put it in reverse and it wanted to rev more then usual. When it MAINLY shifts hard is when I first turn it on and start moving a couple feet it wants to fall on its face. We haven’t had any incidents in it yet but I wanted to see if I could get anything done before any. Me and my boyfriend travel a lot and when we are in traffic it has fallen on its face. There is a gas cap light that keeps coming on and I have replaced my gas cap 2 times.
Service Shifter lights up on the instrument panel as well as the check engine also stop/start not ready. 4x4 not available exhilarates and UN exhilarates all by its own. Shifts hard and jumps hard when I take off at a stop light don't wanna come out of park unless I take my finger and flip up a plastic thing down inside the shifting housing. And the key fobe won't come out of the key switch. No it hasn't been in a crash yet but it's one looking for a place to happen if jeep don't have a recall. Yes my jeep has been confirmed by the Dodge dealership in Lexington Kentucky. They say that it needs a new shifter put in it I'm taking it to the dealership this coming Thursday
While driving my jeep forward or in reverse my jeep launches forward very hard. I have to press on the brake abruptly so that I don't hit anything. Also when accelerating my speedometer shows the numbers increasing but my wheels are barely moving then it kicks forward abruptly. When turning or going over bumps I feel a pop in the steering column and sometimes the dashboard icon with the vehicle & squiggly lines under it appears. I told my dealership but the mechanic just said there is nothing wrong with it even though I know there is.
I WAS AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION GETTING READY TO TURN LEFT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE AUTO START CAUTIOUS SYMBOL SHOWED UP ON THE DASH AND THE ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON RIGHT BEFORE MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I HAD TO PUT ON MY HAZARDS BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF GETTING HIT. PUT THE JEEP INTO PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T LEAKING ANYTHING AND TO GIVE IT TIME TO MAKE SURE IT WOULDN'T SHUT OFF AGAIN. THEN THE NEXT DAY IT WAS SHAKING REALLY BAD IN IDLE AND KEPT THROWING THE SAME AUTO START CAUTION LIGHT ON THE DASH. THEN HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WHEN TAKEN TO MECHANIC SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACK FOR CYLINDER 2 WERE CHANGED BUT PROBLEM PERSISTS.

WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY IN NOVEMBER 2020 I HAD ENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND SET IT AT THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH. A SEMI TRUCK CHANGED INTO MY LANE WITHOUT BLINKER WARNING. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES BUT THE CRUSE CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. I THEN BEGAN PUMPING THE BRAKES AND STILL NO DISENGAGEMENT. AS I APPROACHED THE BACK END OF THE SEMI PRIOR TO HITTING IT, I DROVE OFF THE FREEWAY DOWN THE DESCENDING EMBANKMENT STILL PUMPING THE BRAKES WITHOUT DISENGAGING THE CRUISE CONTROL. AS I BEGAN SLIDING DOWN THE EMBANKMENT I BRAKES DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL JUST BEFORE A COLLISION WITH THE DIVIDER.

IF I'M COMING UP ON A RED LIGHT AND IT TURNS GREEN BEFORE I HAVE TO STOP WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL IT HESITATES TO GO THEN IT JUMPS FORWARD VERY HARD. ALSO IF I'M PULLING OUT SOMETIMES FROM A COMPLETE STOP IT WILL DO THE SAMETHING BY HESITATING THEN JUMPING FORWARD.
THE SERVICE SHIFTER ALERT COMES ON EVERY TIME I START THE CAR ALMOST. IT STARTED PERHAPS A MONTH AGO OR SO. IT WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WOULD CLEAR IT OFTEN BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVERTIME. IT NOW OCCURS EVERY TIME I START THE VEHICLE. I WORRY THAT IT MAY GO OUT AND THE POLAR IS VERY GENERIC. THAT'S CALLED A COUPLE OF MECHANICS INCLUDING DEALER AND THEY'RE EQUALLY GENERIC ABOUT WHAT IT MAY BE, AND JUST TO GET IT LOOKED AT WILL COST ME $120 AN HOUR. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS THERE WITHIN MY POWER TO TROUBLESHOOT WAS TO MAKE SURE FIRMWARE WAS UP-TO-DATE AND I HAVE DONE THAT BUT THE ALERT IS STILL THERE.

WHILE DRIVING, THE JEEP WILL TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY DUE TO THE ENGINE BURING TOO MUCH OIL. IT CAUSES A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY STOPS AND CAUSES OTHER CARS TO SWIRVE OR TO HIT THE CAR. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS. SOMETIMES IT DELAYS TO LAUNCH, WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS IT TAKES 10 OR 15 SECONDS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE COMPUTER DISENGAGES THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE WILL ONLY IDLE IN DRIVE, CARS FOLLOWING G ARE FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY JEEP TODAY, MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT IN THE VIN ASSOCIATED MASS RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND I HAVE FOUND, HUNDREDS OF THE SAME ISSUES ON 2014 AND 2015 9 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND IS A HAZARD TO OTHER MOTORIST, DUE TO JEEPS DESIGN ISSUE AND LACK OF OWNERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY. MY JEEP HAS 62,048 MILES ON IT.

I WAS PARKED AND TRIED TO START MY CAR, IT WOULD NOT CRANK UP. TURNED IT OFF AND IT HESITATED TO START AGAIN. THEN I TRIED TO SHIFT IT INTO REVERSE, IT WAS BLINKING AND IT JERKED LIKE WHEN SOMEONE HITS YOU FROM BEHIND REALLY HARD. AS I TRIED TO REVERSE THE STEERING LOCKED AND IT HARDLY WANTED TO BRAKE. THE SERVICE BRAKE LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW AND EACH TIME IT GETS WORSE. IT'S NOT A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE.
THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP ON A DOWNHILL SITUATION. IT BECOMES DIFFICULT NOT TO HIT STOPPED VEHICLES AT THE BOTTOM OF A HILL AT RED LIGHTS. VEHICLE CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY, FLASHES MULTIPLE INDICATORS ON DASHBOARD. TRUCK HAS CUT OFF WHILE WAITING TO TURN WHILE IN MIDDLE OF A FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON. HESITATION AND ACCELERATION ISSUES. WHEN PRESSING ON ACCELERATOR TRUCK DOESN'T GO AS IF STUCK IN GEAR THEN FINALLY LURCHES FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. VERY JERKY DURING GEAR CHANGES SIMILAR TO DRIVING A STICK SHIFT. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED AND WAS TOLD TO BUY NEW BATTERY BUT THE SAME PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. DIAGNOSTICS AT DEALERSHIP GAVE NO INDICATION AS TO HOW THESE SAFETY ISSUES CAN BE RESOLVED.

I BELIEVE IT COULD BE THE TRANSMISSION AS THE CAR SEEMS NOT TO WANT TO SHIFT CORRECTLY AND MAKES ROUGH, JUMPY GRINDING NOISES DOES THIS MOST OF TIME TIME YOU DRIVE IT AND HAS FOR ALONG TIME.
THE CAR JERKS REAL HARD WHEN SHIFITING PASS SECOND, HAS A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATING AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND IT SOMETIME JERK ONCE YOU GET PASS 35MILES A HOUR ND SOMETIMES IT WANT LET YOU GO PASS 40MILES A HOUR.
BRAKES ARE CONTANTLY BEING CHANGED. THE CAR SHAKES WHEN BRAKING AT ALL TIMES. BATTERY ALWAYS NEEDS CHARGED. THE CAR WILL TURN OFF UNEXPECTEDLY DUE TO BATTERY. IT HAS STOPPED AT STOP LIGHTS AND IT HAS STOPPED ON I70 GOING TOWARDS HAGERSTOWN, MD AND SEVERAL CITY STREETS. IT HAS BEEN CHANGED AND STILL NEEDS CHARGING. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT GO TO SPEED DESIRED AND WILL NOT SLOW DOWN WHEN DECREASING THE SPEED. SHIFTING GEARS SWITCHES TO NEUTRAL UNEXPECTEDLY. CAR ALSO LUNGES WHILE IN DRIVE AS IF GEARS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. THIS WILL HAPPEN ON ALL ROADS REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED.
VEHICLE TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN UPON REACHING 40MPH AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. VEHICLE LATER TURNED OFF WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH IN TRAFFIC WHILE IN THE MIDDLE LANE. THIS MADE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATOR INOPERABLE AND AT THE SAME TIME MADE THE VEHICLE LOSE SPEED SLOWING DOWN WHILE IN TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS NEARLY MISSED BY PASSING VEHICLES AND ALMOST HIT. EMERGENCY LIGHTS CAME ON AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF. VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL TO ALLOW FOR STEERING WHEEL TO NOT BE SO STIFF. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER WHILE THE VEHICLE STILL HAD SOME TYPE OF MOMENTUM. I TRIED RESTARTING THE VEHICLE BUT THE DASHBOARD STATED "PLEASE WAIT FOR VEHICLE TO WARM UP TO START.' I HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 20 MINUTES UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THEN ACTING NORMAL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. UPON REVISING THE FAULT...
CRUISE CONTROL WILL BE SET AND EITHER BE GOING 5MPH+ FASTER THAN WHAT IT'S SET AT, OR NOT SHUT OFF WHEN TURNED OFF . ALSO, CONSISTENTLY HAVING 'SERVICE SHIFTER' COME ON , AND THE SHIFTER WILL STOP WORKING AND LOCK IN THE GEAR IT'S IN OR LOCK WHEN PUT IN PARK AND NOT SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR.
WHEN I START THE CAR IN THE MORNING STATIONARY, THE CAR LEAPS FORWARD AND THEN THE CAR ROCKS BACK AND FORTH. IVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS BEFORE BUT DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE SINCE THE ISSUE USUALLY ONLY OCCURS WHEN ENGINE IS COLD. ALSO, TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND REVS WHEN IN MOTION CHANGING SPEEDS USING CRUISE CONTROL. THE JEEP HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS SINCE IVE OWNED IT.
JUST PURCHASED 2015 CHEROKEE, WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING IT HESITATES AND SEEMS TO NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY AND THEN EVENTUALLY "KICKS IN" AND JERKS HARD. CAUSES MAJOR ISSUES WHILE IN TRAFFIC. ALSO SOUNDS LIKE ITS GOING TO SHUT OFF WHEN SITTING STATIONARY AND IDLING.
SOMETIMES WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS SET VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE UP TO 10 MPH FASTER THEN SET SPEED. THIS OCCURS EVEN WHEN DRIVING ON A FLAT LEVEL ROAD NO HILLS.HAS ALSO REVVED RPMS UP TO 5 AND SLOWLY DECELERATES ON OWN.
CPSC: I PURCHASED A PEDAL COMMANDER PRODUCT SEPTEMBER 21, 2018 TO ASSIST MY 2015 JEEP'S ACCELERATION. THE MODULE IS A PASS THROUGH ELECTRONIC DEVICE THAT IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. *DT O THE USER CAN SELECT 4 'MODES' THAT WILL PROVIDE A BETTER RESPONSE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED A PEDAL COMMANDER DEVICE WAS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEVICE FAILED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN ECO/CITY MODE. *JS*JB
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED 4X4, WHEN I TRY TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP THE VEHICLE WILL SPEED UP. IT IS LIKE YOU ARE GIVING IT GAS INSTEAD OF APPLYING THE BREAK. IT WAS PURCHASED WITH AROUND 13500 MILES ON THE ODOMETER ON 9-22-2018, IT NOW HAS 21360 MILES AS OF 11-27-2018. THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE MOVE AND ACTED AS IF IT WAS NOT IN ANY GEAR. IT HAS SEAMED TO HAVE ISSUES FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED IT AND I WAS TOLD BY A JEEP DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS JUST THE NORMAL WAY THAT THE 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION WORKED. IF THIS IS NORMAL FOR A TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AT 21000 MILES I FEEL THAT IS A MAJOR CONCERN AND A HUGE ISSUE.
