Absolute unacceptable level of rust to the body and frame. Even with regular car washes, sitting for a year covered. It’s literally totalled and I am out of a car. It’s a 2012 with this amount of rust
I was driving to my drs appointment and as I was pulling up to the hospital I saw a message from my dash and my steering wheel locked up and I had to get it towed and then sent to the dealership but since I had made a few of previous attempts to get it fixed with u guys it wasn’t getting no response, so I had to go get it fixed force and I ended up with a bill..
This is an open recall that I'm sure has been stated many times, but the dealerships are not accepting the recall or granting it. The power steering aka. Steering assist system failed. Which is an ongoing issue with my vehicle model and year. It has caused me so many "almost" bad accidents and making it so I have lost an incredible amount of income due to my vehicle being down for repair and unsafe to drive and too expensive to fix. Especially when there is a recall about said thing. I need help.
The driver power steering system message goes on every so often and I have to turn off and on to reset the light, but my concern is that it’s going to go off as I’m driving, and the fuel mileage as I’m driving it says mileage to empty and one time I was trying to get to the gas station and it hit 0 and it was still going the car, and the suspension makes noise when I go over the bumps and also when I’m reversing and turning the wheel there’s a popping sound from the front it sounds like,
My 15 year old permit driver was driving the car and a power steering message flashed. The car became very difficult to steer and very difficult to pull to the side of the road. This could have caused a major accident. I was told when I called there was a recall for this in the past but had been fixed on this particular car. It must not have been fixed well. The car is not technically high mileage by today’s standards.
The power steering system is currently non-functional, resulting in significant difficulty in maneuvering the vehicle, particularly at low speeds. This poses a substantial safety risk not only to myself and my loved ones but also to other motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and their pets. I am deeply concerned about the well-being of all individuals involved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I have reached out to the dealership regarding the car's issues, providing them with the necessary information and VIN number. However, they have informed me that the repairs are not covered. Despite highlighting the safety implications of the problem, their response lacked concern or interest. It is worth noting that numerous online sources indicate that 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusions should undergo repairs and reprogramming as part of safety recalls. Pulled out of a side street Taylor onto a main highway 39 beach Blvd and car jolted and didn’t have much go. Seemed sluggish. Transmission mount bolt had snapped off and I could have been in a major accident because I had oncoming traffic coming at me when I merged into the street and lost power because of the incident.
Steering failed rack and pinion
STEERING FEELS LIKE IT'S REALLY LOSE AND GOES ALL OVER THE ROAD TIRES ARE BOUNCY WHILE DRIVING IT POPS BACK ALSO WHILE CHANGING GEARS
POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. STEERING WHEEL WOULDN'T TURN EASILY.
SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, THE SPRING BROKE ON THE FRONT LEFT STRUT ASSEMBLY. IT DIDN'T BREAK IN JUST ONE PLACE, THE SPRING BROKE IN THREE PLACES. TWO PIECES OF THE SPRING FELL TO THE GARAGE FLOOR. I AM GLAD THAT IT HAPPENED IN THE GARAGE AND NOT ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I HAVE THE PIECES AND WILL INCLUDE THE PICTURE IN THIS REPORT. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO GET SERVICED AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I AM HAVING THEM REPLACE BOTH STRUT ASSEMBLIES. I COMMUTE FOR WORK AND IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING I WORRY THAT THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED MULTIPLE TIMES ACROSS THE INTERNET, I BELIEVE THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE REPORTED AGAIN TO THE NHTSA.
BACKED OUT OF GARAGE AND NOTICED LEFT FRONT OF HOOD WAS LOWER THAN RIGHT SIDE. FOUND A BROKEN SPRING ON LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY. WHEN REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT SPRING, I FOUND THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE 2ND BREAK ON THAT SPRING, THE OTHER BREAK WAS HEAVILY RUSTED, SO HAD HAPPENED LONG BEFORE. THE NEW BREAK WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 COIL FARTHER UP THE SPRING. WHEN I REMOVED THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY, I NOTICED THAT SPRING WAS ALSO BROKE AND HAD BEEN FOR A LONG TIME AS WELL. BOTH SPRINGS WERE BROKE IN ALMOST THE EXACT SAME SPOT, RIGHT WHERE THE SPRING IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY THE LOWER SPRING SEAT. IT APPEARS THAT THIS WOULD BE A HEAT TREAT ISSUE WITH THE SPRINGS AND THERE WOULD BE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I DID HAVE A COWORKER WITH THE SAME BREAKS ON HER MERCURY MILAN, SAME MODEL YEAR....
WHEN I WAS DECELERATING THE CAR WOULD VIBRATE. ONLY HAPPENED IN TOWN, NOT ON HIGHWAY. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVESHAFT AND LEFT SPRING, WHICH WAS BROKEN!
THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON INSIDE THE DASH AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. SO I DROVE ABOUT .01MILE TO GET AIR. AFTER I PUT AIR IN THE TIRE,STARTED THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY GOT A WARNING THAT POWER STEERING NEEDED SERVICING. THEN GOT ANOTHER WARNING THAT ADVANCE TRACK NEEDED SERVICING. ALL HAPPENED AT THE SAME TIME AND THE POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE OUT. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $1809 TO FIX THE STEERING RACK. THE SERVICE DEPT SAID THE GEAR INSIDE THE POWER STEERING RACK HAS GONE BAD AND THE CONTROL ARMS IT SITS ON HAS WORN OUT THE GEAR THEREFORE NEEDING FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS COSTING $1213.23
FRONT LEFT TRANSMISSION SEAL LEAKING, AXLE SHAFT LOOSE AND DAMAGED, WHEEL INCREASINGLY WOBBLY WITH SPEED. DIRECTLY AND NEGATIVELY AFFECTS BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS AS WELL AS WHEEL KNUCKLE STABILITY AND SHOCK ABSORBER WEAR. CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS STEERING CONTROL HAS DECREASED DRAMATICALLY. THE RUBBER SEAL AROUND THE TRANSAXLE ON THE LEFT (DRIVER SIDE) FRONT WHEEL AXLE HAS BEEN SLICED OPEN FROM THE INSIDE BY METAL SHAVINGS PRODUCED BY THE BAD PRODUCTION OF THE PARTS INCLUDED IN THE AXLE SHAFT ASSEMBLY, CAUSING ABNORMAL WEAR/SHAVING OF THE SHAFT. THE JOINT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DAMAGED AND IS NOW IN TURN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, SHOCK ABSORBER, WHEEL KNUCKLE, STEERING ARM, BRAKE ROTORS, BREAK PADS, THE WHEEL HUB, WHEEL BEARING, TIRE ETC. IT LITERALLY EFECTS THE ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE FRONT SUSPENSION, DRIVETRAIN, AND STEERING COMPONENTS, CONTINUOUSLY DEGRADING THEIR STATE WITH TIME AND MAKING THEM MORE DANGEROUS TO...
STARTING AT 36,000- 120,000 MILES THE CONTROL ARMS WEAR PREMATURELY. GIVEN THE DESIGN OF THE LINKAGE SYSTEM THIS CAUSES THE STEERING TO BIND IN A FASHION THAT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO HAVE TO OVER STEER TO GET THE POWER STEERING TO OVERCOME THE BOUND LINKAGES AND MOMENTARY LOSS OF CONTROL

JUST HAD RECALL # 16B38 DONE 1/24/18. DRIVING MY HUSBAND TO WORK AND MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT TO HAVE SCAN DONE AND IT'S MY GAS TANK OR CAP? THE TECH TOLD ME MY TANK IS NOT BREATHING, NEITHER AM I. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS, # 17S01. THAT'S ALL I NEED TO HAVE AN AIR BAG GO OFF AND KILL EVERYONE IN THE CAR. THERE IS ALSO A RECALL # 15S18 THE STEERING. OCTOBER 14, 2015 REPLACED BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS (BROKE NEAR THE TOP). I KNOW THAT ONE OR BOTH OF THEM BROKE WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO START DOWN THE STREET. THAT WAS THE ONLY TIME THAT I HEARD A LOUD NOISE LIKE A SPRING BREAKING AND STARTED TO HEAR A RUBBING SOUND A SHORT TIME LATER, WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS THE BROKEN SPRING RUBBING AGAINST THE TIRE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING AND ADVANCETRAC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HIXSON FORD AUTO PLEX IN LEESVILLE, LA (337-239-3434) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
AFTER POWER STEERING FAILED, CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER A RECALL NOTICE AT LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THE STEERING RACK WAS REPLACED. 3 HOURS AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR, WHEN LEAVING WORK, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET GOING UNDER 40 MPH DECELERATING COMING TO A RED LIGHT. RECEIVED WARNING "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" AND "SERVICE ADVANCTRAC." THESE ARE THE SAME WARNINGS RECEIVED PRIOR TO REPAIR. THE CAR WENT IMMEDIATELY AND GROSSLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT. ABOVE 55 MPH, THE CAR SHAKES SEVERELY. FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS THE REPAIR NEEDED FALLS UNDER THE TSB 11-11-3 RELATED TO HIGH FRICTION IN THE CONTROL ARMS; HOWEVER, THE TSB STATES THAT THIS PROBLEM ONLY CAUSES THE STABILITY/TRACTION INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO ILLUMINATE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS EVERYTHING UNDER MY CAR LOOKS TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND THAT THIS HAS TO BE THE PROBLEM, STATING THAT THE HIGH FRICTION IS CAUSING THE POWER...
POWER STEERING WENT OUT
BOTH THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT SWAY BARS HAVE COME LOOSE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE RESULTING IN BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AFTER 51,700 MILES. THIS IS A CAR HAS MET ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND IS WELL CARED FOR.

THE DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCED FAILURE CODES: (DTCS) AND (P07AEN AND 0415) REGARDING THE CONTROL ARMS IN THE LOWER SUSPENSION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS RIGHT AND LEFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD ROARING AND CLICKING NOISE. THE CONTACT NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,700.

WAS TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE SPOT TO PARK AND IT IMMEDIATELY RUNG AND SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THE STEERING GEAR WAS TO BE REPLACED AND FORD COVERED EVERYTHING DUE TO THE RECALL. ON 7-7-14 3 WEEKS AND ONLY 597 MILES LATER THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED, TOWED VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID ITS SHOWING THE SAME CODES AS BEFORE BUT NOW THE CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS ARE NEEDING REPLACED AND IT WILL COST $1,200.00 TO FIX AND FORD IS NOT COVERING ANYTHING. WHILE TRAVELING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY SPOUSE AND CHILD, THE CAR WARNING SYSTEM SUDDENLY FLASHED "POWER STEERING FAILURE" AND "AUTO TRACTION FAILURE" AND I LOST POWER STEERING IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS ASTOUNDED. ON OCTOBER 2ND, I CAREFULLY WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY NAVIGATED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, HERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IN...

DEALER REP'S STATED THAT FAILURE IS THE RESULT OF ABSENCE OF GREASE FITTINGS IN SUSPENSION ASSEMBLIES. OEM REPLACEMENTS MAY NOT HAVE GREASE FITTINGS EITHER. *TR
I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ON A DIRT ROAD WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND MY STEERING WHEEL JERKED THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND I WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DID DAMAGE TO MY FENDER. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM FOR WARRANTY FIX AND TO FIX MY FENDER AND THEY DENIED MY WORK AND WOULDN'T FIX THE POWER STEERING EVEN THOUGH THE CODE PO7AE AND U0415 CLEARLY CAME UP.
