Absolute unacceptable level of rust to the body and frame. Even with regular car washes, sitting for a year covered. It’s literally totalled and I am out of a car. It’s a 2012 with this amount of rust
Vehicle loses power while driving, with no response when accelerator is depressed further. The engine continues to run but no throttle response. No engine warning light came on. No codes stored. Must stop, turn off engine and perform an engine restart to continue driving again.
The driver power steering system message goes on every so often and I have to turn off and on to reset the light, but my concern is that it’s going to go off as I’m driving, and the fuel mileage as I’m driving it says mileage to empty and one time I was trying to get to the gas station and it hit 0 and it was still going the car, and the suspension makes noise when I go over the bumps and also when I’m reversing and turning the wheel there’s a popping sound from the front it sounds like,
My steering assist system goes of at odd times, and the acceleration it does tiny tugs, and my suspension it rattles, over street bumps,, can it be fixed by a dealership, cause it’s my only vehicle 🚗 I have and plus I’m on ssdi income and I can’t afford major repairs, like these, and if so have the car fully inspected just in case I’m missing something, oh and also there’s a popping noise coming from the front of the car..
MY CAR JUST DIES WHILE I'M DRIVING. ARE THERE RECALLS I HAVEN'T BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS? IF SO, HOW DO I GET IT REPAIRED IN THE MOST EXPEDITIOUS MANNER. I ONLY HAVE THE ONE CAR AND IT IS PRETTY UNSAFE AT THIS POINT.
I WAS GETTING GAS AND I CUT MY CAR OFF WHEN I GOT BACK INTO MY CAR IT DID NOT START. I CONTINUED TO START IT. CAR WOULD NOT START. I POPPED THE HOOD AND TOUCHED THE BATTERY SOME AND TRIED STARTING THE CAR THE CAR STARTED THEN ABOUT 5 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT SUDDENLY CUTS OFF. THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE. CAR SUDDENLY STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF STREET ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS THAT CAN NEARLY KILL SOMEONE!!! VERY UNSAFE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY AND STREET. AND ITS SO RANDOM NO SIGNS JUST CUTS OFF AT ANY SPEED.
THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE CUTS OFF IT WILL START BACK UP BUT IT'S RANDOM AND CUTS OFF ANYTIME IT WANTS. IT'S DONE THIS WHILE PARKED AND MOVING. THROTTLE BODY EXTENDED WARRANTY. MY CAR IS UNDER THE 150,000 MILES AND MET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS TO BE REPLACED AND I TOOK IT TO RAVENEL FORD RAVENEL SC AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET THAT CODE THAT THEY WE'RE ALLOWED TO FIX IT
THROTTLE CONTROL/TRANSMISSION WRENCH SYMBOL LLUMINATES WHEN THE POWERTRAIN OR A AWD FAULT HAS BEEN DETECTED. IF THE INDICATOR STAYS ON OR CONTINUES TO COME ON, WHICH IT DOES. THEN CAR WILL CONTINUE TO RUN BUT JERKS AND LUNGES. PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR DOES ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING SAID CAR. THANK THE DEAR LORD I WAS NOT PULLING OUT ON U.S. 98 IN NAVARRE FL. I WAS STILL IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS ABLE TO CHUG MY WAY BACK HOME. TOMORROW, 06/22/2020 WILL BE HAVING CAR TOWED TO A PROFESSIONAL AND LICENSED MECHANIC. VEHICLE HAS SUFFICIENT FUEL, THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. AFTER MECHANIC HAS EVALUATED SITUATION I WILL HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT.
CAR SUDDENLY LOSES ENGINE POWER (HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SINCE APRIL 2019) AND ON THE HIGHWAY JUST STARTS COASTING RAPIDLY SLOWING DOWN (LIKE IT IS ONLY USING BATTERY POWER). A WARNING LIGHT ALSO COME ON (A RED TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK IN THE MIDDLE) WITH THE WORDS "STOP SAFELY NOW" (SEE IMAGE). IN THE 5 TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED, THE FIRST TIME WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN THE CITY, THE REMAINING TIMES WERE ALL AT 50-65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. EACH TIME, THERE WAS NO TURNING, BREAKING OR ACTIVATING ANY OTHER SYSTEM IN THE CAR (RADIO, CRUISE CONTROL ETC). IN EACH CASE, WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE CAR WAS RESTARTED WITHOUT ISSUE UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED (TYPICALLY EVERY 1-2 MONTHS EXCEPT THIS MONTH WHERE IT HAPPENED TWO DAYS IN A ROW).WHILE I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE...
VEHICLE STALLS OUT COMPLETELY AND STOPS RUNNING WHEN ENCOUNTERING STOPS OR LOW RPM'S.
CAR WILL STALL OUT AND GETS NO POWER PERIODICALLY. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ON INTERSTATE, ETC. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. WILL NOT SHOW A CODE WHEN TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP. HAVE ALREADY HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED, FRONT O2 SENSOR. CAR ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WAYNE FORD (444 US-46, WAYNE, NJ 07470, (973) 256-8800) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MOTOR STARTS SPUTTERING AND THEN DIES, I STOP, THEN I START IT UP AND ITS FINE -FOR A WHILE.
VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AND GOT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER INSPECTION THEY FOUND THE FUEL PUMP UNIT HOUSING CRACKED AND ELECTRICALLY SHORTED, BLOWING THE FUSE. BOTH THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUSE NEEDED REPLACED. CAR HAS 87K MILES. THIS COULD HAVE FAILED ANYWHERE ON THE ROAD
UPON ACCELERATING FROM A ROLLING STOP, THE CAR WILL SPUTTER AND STALL OUT INFREQUENTLY. THE BATTERY AND ALTENATOR HAVE BEEN TESTED AT DIFFERENT PLACES AND ALL HAVE PASSED THE TESTS.

CAPITAL FORD (4900 CAPITAL BLVD, RALEIGH, NC) WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM NUMBER: 16B38 (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING AND CANISTER PURGE VALVE INSPECTION). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE PROGRAM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NHTSA WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR RECALLS BEING ISSUED. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,015.
JUST HAD RECALL # 16B38 DONE 1/24/18. DRIVING MY HUSBAND TO WORK AND MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT TO HAVE SCAN DONE AND IT'S MY GAS TANK OR CAP? THE TECH TOLD ME MY TANK IS NOT BREATHING, NEITHER AM I. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS, # 17S01. THAT'S ALL I NEED TO HAVE AN AIR BAG GO OFF AND KILL EVERYONE IN THE CAR. THERE IS ALSO A RECALL # 15S18 THE STEERING. I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD GET THESE RECALL'S TAKEN CARE OF AND RE DO THE RECALL # 16B38. SOMETHING WENT WRONG. THE CAR IS IN MICHIGAN, SO WE NEED A FORD DEALER IN MICHIGAN. IN APRIL 2017 I HAD A RECALL ON THROTTLE BODY. I QUICKLY TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. ON 6/21/17 I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER HAVING CAR TOWED TO DEALER I AGAIN HAD THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED
DRIVING ON 6 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN I LOST POWER TO THE VEHICLE AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. GOT PUSHED TO THE DEALER THAT WAS A BLOCK AWAY. THE DEALER SAID THEY DID THEIR $129 TEST - NO FAULTS AND MY CAR WAS READY TO DRIVE HOME. I WASN'T GOING TO LEAVE UNTIL IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE WAS ANOTHER $129 TEST THAT THEY COULD DO. THIS TEST DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING BUT WHEN THE TECH WAS DRIVING IT STALLED ON HIM. THEY REPLACED THE PURGE VALVE ( FOR FREE, WASN'T CHARGED FOR EITHER TEST) BUT HE HOPED THAT THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. TWO DAYS LATER, HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON ANOTHER 6 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 30 MPH AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY VEHICLE BEHIND ME. I LET THE VEHICLE SIT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND IT WAS...
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIWAY CAR STALLS AND COMPLETELY STOPS AND WON'T START FOR 5-10 MINUTES. FORD REPLACED THE ETB THROTTLE BODY IN SEPT 2016 AND CONTINUED TO STALL AND THEY REPLACED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE IN NOV. 2016 BOTH WERE RECALLS AND IT STALLED AGAIN. THEY SAID THEY CAN'T TELL WHATS WRONG NOW CAUSE IT WOULD NOT STALL WHILE THEY HAD IT. SO DANGEROUS! AND DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO NEXT. WONDER IF SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED.

TAKATA INFLATOR: ON SEPTEMBER 23RD I WAS DRIVING TO WORK USING LOCAL STET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR LOST ALL POWER, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I HIT THE GAS. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INSIDE THE CAR INCLUDING THE ENGINE LIGHT. IT HAPPEN ONCE AGAIN ON OCT 5, 2016 WHILE DRIVING ON 408. THANK GOD THAT THE TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE CAR INTO PARK, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. I THE TRAFFIC WAS NOT HEAVY I COULD HAVE BEEN BADLY INJURED. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE. PLEASE DON'T LET SOMEONE LOOSE THEY LIFE BEFORE THE ISSUE IS FIXED

I WAS IN NEW ORLEANS FOR A FAMILY REUNION. LEAVING THE REUNION MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAD A FRIEND TO CHECK IT AND POWER WASN'T GOING TO THE PUMP. WE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP ASSUMING THAT IT HAD WENT OUT AND CHANGE FUSES TOO. AFTER THAT THINKING THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK, WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN MORNING TRAFFIC GOING 45 TO 50 MPH. THE CAR STOPPED, I COULDN'T GIVE IT GAS OR ANYTHING. I HAD TO HURRY UP AND TURN A BLOCK AND SIT IN THE MIDDLE LANE. I TRIED TURNING THE KEY IT TURNED BUT DIDN'T START. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND BATTERY AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. I STAYED IN CAR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTED AGAIN. AFTER STARTING IT I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS OK I WAS WRONG. HAD TO WORK AND TRIED STARTING CAR IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD IT TOWED TO...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A LEAKY FUEL TANK AND CANISTER PURGE VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. OUR FORD FUSION CONTINUES TO STOP WORKING AT 45+ MPH. WE WILL BE DRIVING AND THE CAR BASICALLY STALLS, EXCEPT IT STILL HAS POWER AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. WE HAD A SAME PROBLEM BACK IN DECEMBER, BUT FORD WOULD NOT REPAIR IT BECAUSE THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NEVER ON. PREVIOUSLY, THE ONLY ERROR THE DEALERSHIP COULD PROVIDE WAS ERROR CODE P21111 AND STATED THE THROTTLE VALUE WAS STUCK OPEN. HERE WE ARE 3 MONTHS LATER AND IT IS WORSE. FORD HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THROTTLE VALUES, BUT FORD WONT FIX THE ISSUE. WE ARE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN AND REFUSE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE ISSUE IS FIXED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. WE WERE DRIVING 65MPH WHEN IT STALLED. THAT IS NOT SAFE!!!!!
RAPID UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION FOLLOWED BY SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. SPEED IS REDUCED TO UNDER 10 MPH, THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNS ON WHEN THIS OCCURS. POWER IS RESTORED AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK, IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, AND NEARLY RESULTED SERIOUS ACCIDENTS INVOLVING BOTH OUR VEHICLE AND VEHICLES BEHIND US TRYING TO AVOID OUR ALMOST STALLED VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT! THE CAR BEHIND US SWERVED IN FRONT OF A SEMI TRUCK WHICH NEARLY CAUSED A CHAIN REACTION CRASH IN 70 MPH TRAFFIC. THE SECOND VEHICLE, BEHIND THE ONE THAT CUT OFF THE SEMI, NEARLY REAR ENDED US AS WE LIMPED ALONG AT UNDER 10 MPH. IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER FROM THE CENTER LANE IN BOTH INSTANCES. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED...
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR IS 38 MONTHS OLD, 24,818 MILES. FUEL FILLER NECK CORRODED THROUGH. $800 REPAIR AS IT WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY
WHILE LEAVING MY PLACE OF WORK THIS AFTERNOON THE VEHICLE WENT INTO 'HOME MODE', DRASTICALLY REDUCING THE SPEED AND RESPONSE (NONE OR VERY LIMITED ACCELERATION AVAILABLE). I GOT OFF THE ROADWAY AND USED A WIRELESS SCANNER AND IT REPORTED NO DTC CODES, BUT AN ACCELERATOR ACTUATOR STUCK OPEN. AFTER REMOVING THE SCAN TOOL DONGLE AND TURNING KEY COMPLETELY OFF, IT ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE 45 MILES (MY DAILY ONE WAY COMMUTE) WITH NO ISSUES. I'M CERTAINLY CONCERNED OF THIS HAPPENING ON A BIGGER, FASTER HIGHWAY. AND, NO, I DIDN'T GET NO NOTICE BEFORE THE NO-RECALL RECALL HAPPENED.
ON AUGUST 12TH, 2015, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH IN THE CENTER LANE, ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STALLED AND I WAS NOT ABLE ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD TO QUICKLY COAST OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. ONCE I MADE IT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON AUG. 14TH AND 15TH, SAME SITUATION...DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 TO 70 MPH. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP YET.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STALLED OUT. I WAS ABLE TO PULLOVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR STARTED LIKE JERKING. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE ENGINE LIGHT. IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. IT STOPPED FOR AWHILE, BUT IT'S BEEN DOING IT MORE OFTEN NOW.

THE FUEL NOZZLE GOT STUCK IN THE CAPLESS SYSTEM. NOW I AM DRIVING WITH THE NOZZLE STUCK IN MY TANK NECK. I GOT THE FIRE DEPT TRYING TO REMOVE THE NOZZLE. VEHICLE EXHIBITED EXTREME HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. ENGINE RAN ROUGHLY, AND DID NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUTS, AND POWERTRAIN 'WRENCH' LIGHT ILLUMINATED. PULLED INTO AN ADJACENT PARKING LOT, STOPPED AND PLACED INTO PARK, WHILE THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN ROUGHLY. ENGINE WAS SWITCHED OFF, AND RAN NORMALLY WHEN RESTARTED. THE TOTAL ELAPSED TIME OF THE ANOMALY WAS APPROXIMATELY 5-10 SECONDS. LATER THAT DAY A SCAN OF THE OBD II PORT INDICATED NO ANOMALIES, AND AN ON-BOARD 'VEHICLE HEALTH MONITOR' WAS RUN VIA FORD SYNC . THIS REPORT ALSO INDICATED NO ANOMALIES. WHILE LOOKING UP THE VEHICLE HEALTH MONITOR RESULTS ON THE OWNER WEBSITE, I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A 'CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM' 13N03 WHICH EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE THROTTLE BODY. RESEARCH ON THIS 13N03 PROGRAM VIA MULTIPLE ON-LINE SOURCES REVEALED NUMEROUS FAILURES OF THE THROTTLE BODY, WITH BEHAVIOR IDENTICAL TO THAT OBSERVED IN THIS VEHICLE. CAR WAS...
THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AND IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS RUNNING ON A COUPLE OF CYLINDERS, VERY LOW POWER. I STOPPED AS SOON AS I COULD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, RESTARTED IT AND EVERYTHING SEEM TO BE OK.
