DOORS WILL FREEZE SHUT MAKING ENTRY/EXIT OF THE VEHICLE IMPOSSIBLE IN TEMP'S UNDER 20* THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES THIS WINTER ALONE. THE COLD TEMP IS WHAT'S AFFECTING IT, SINCE MOISTURE WAS NOT PRESENT 3/4 TIMES.
WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID FROZEN IN LINES. WHEN PUSHING THE WASHER FLUID BUTTON WHILE DRIVING, THE WIPERS WOULD WIPE BUT NOT WASHER FLUID WOULD COME OUT CAUSING A DANGEROUS VISIBILITY SITUATION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT DAY WHILE THEY WERE STILL FROZEN AND THE DEALER SAID I DID HAVE THE CORRECT WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID IN THEM, BUT THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM FREEZING, SO THEY SAID THEY DUMPED MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND SAID TO LET IT THAW OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE (THANKFULLY I HAVE A HEATED GARAGE, BUT MANY DON'T SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT THEIR SOLUTION WOULD BE). I ASKED THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE TSB CURRENTLY OUT THAT COVERS THIS VERY SITUATION. THEY SAID THEY PUT MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. MY 2015 FORD F150 TRUCK HAS INOPERATIVE FROZEN DOOR LATCHES.I HAVE WAITED 6-8 WEEKS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. IVE HAD MANY OCCASIONS IVE HAD TO BUNGEE MY DOOR SOMEWHAT CLOSED TO GET MY FAMILY HOME.I CANNOT GET INTO MY TRUCK AND WHEN I DO I CANNOT GET THE DOOR TO SHUT BECAUSE OF THE INOPERATIVE DOOR LATCHES. I HAD IT AT A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A FROZEN DOOR LATCH, INOPERATIVE TSB (16-0155) ON 1/6/17. ON 1/7/17 I WENT OUT TO MY TRUCK AND I CANNOT GET INTO IT EVEN WITH THE TSB WORK DONE THE DAY BEFORE. THEY REPLACED SOME UPDATED PARTS AND CLEANED AND LUBED THE LATCHES.I ALSO HAVE WINDOWS THAT FREEZE SHUT WITH NO SNOW OR ICE HOLDING THEM SHUT. THESE ARE MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES ! I HAVE A FEW VIDEO RECORDINGS OF ME TRYING TO GET INTO MY TRUCK WITH NO LUCK AND HAVE STOPPED...
2015 F-150 LARIAT SUPERCREW CAB DOOR LOCKS AND TAIL GATE BECOME FROZEN IN COLD WEATHER. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN LATELY WITH COLD TEMPS IN MICHIGAN WINTER. GOT UP THIS MORNING WITH MY KIDS TO TAKE THEM TO SCHOOL, GOT THEM IN THE CAR AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED (REAR PASSENGER). CHECKED THE LATCHES, THE MECHANICS SEEMED TO BE WORKING (HANDLE, ETC.) BUT I COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO STAY CLOSED. HAPPENS ON THE DOORS (ALL 4) AND THE TAILGATE (TAILGATE WOULD NOT OPEN).
BOTTOM LATCH IN REAR DOOR, PASSENGER SIDE (SUPERCAB) WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT DURING A COLD SPELL, CAUSING A WARNING NOTIFICATION WHILE DRIVING THAT THE REAR DOOR WAS OPEN. I PULLED ON BOTTOM OF DOOR AND VERIFIED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT LATCHED AND IT WOULD MOVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS AND THERE IS A FORD SSM THAT ONLY DEALERS CAN SEE ON THIS ISSUE (#46260). THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL AS I HAD MY DAUGHTER NEXT TO THIS DOOR. MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL SOMEONE FALLS OUT A DOOR. WHAT HAPPENS IS MOISTURE IS RUNNING DOWN THE DOORS AND ONTO THE LATCHES. IT THEN FREEZES ON THE LATCH, CAUSING THEM NOT TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THIS ESPECIALLY HAPPENS AFTER GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH ON A VERY COLD DAY OR AFTER A RAIN EVENT...
THE HEADLINER IS COMIN OFF ON UPPER THE CONNORS EXACTLY OVER THE SUN VISSORS AND ABOVE HEAD REST ON THE REARS SEATS THE PICK UP IN NOW WHITH 23560 MILES ON IT
REQUIRE CONVEYING TITLE OR A ROYALTY FREE LICENSE TO GOVERNMENT FREE 20448.
RUNNING BOARD FAILURE ON F150 2015 LARIAT. MY 2015 LARIAT CAME WITH FACTORY INSTALLED RUNNING BOARDS WHICH WE NEED AS MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH 68 YEARS OLD. THE RUNNING BOARDS MAKE GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAB SAFE AND EASY, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. AFTER 9 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP MY WIFE FELL WHILE GETTING INTO THE TRUCK CAUSING BRUISING AND CONTUSIONS TO HER LEGS. I LOOKED CAREFULLY AT THE RUNNING BOARDS AFTER THAT INCIDENT AND FOUND THAT THE RUBBER LIKE TREADS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE TRACTION WHEN STEPPED ON HAD COME LOOSE AND WERE MOVING ABOUT 1/2" FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON THE CHROME METAL STEP SIDE PLATFORM. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO INSPECTED IT AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE RUNNING BOARD. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SO I MONITORED IT CAREFULLY. NINE (9) MONTHS LATER I...
THE VEHICLE IS A 2015 FORD F-150 EXTENDED CAB. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT, BUT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN OF THE SEATBELT/DOOR LATCHES. DESIGN OF THE REAR DOORS AND THE LATCHES TRAPS THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF THE INCAPACITATION OF THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THE REAR DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED UNLESS THE FRONT DOOR IS OPENED FIRST. THERE IS NO WAY FOR A REAR SEAT PASSENGER TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF EGRESS FOR REAR SEAT PASSENGERS. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT AFFECTING ALL 2015 F-150 CREW CAB PICKUPS. SO FAR THERE I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, BUT THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD BEFORE THERE ARE TRAGIC RESULTS FROM THE DESIGN ERROR.
DURING TEMPERATURES BELOW FREEZING (32 F) ONE OR MORE OF THE DOOR LOCKS AND/OR LATCHES WILL FREEZE AND BECOME INOPERABLE. POWER LOCK BUTTONS WILL NOT FUNCTION TO UNLOCK THE DOOR AND DOOR HANDLES WILL NOT OPEN THE DOORS (FROM THE OUTSIDE). DOORS HAVE TO BE UNLOCKED FROM THE INSIDE, BY MANUALLY CYCLING THE PULL KNOB MULTIPLE TIMES TO LOOSEN THE FROZEN LOCK. FROZEN DOOR LATCHES ARE ONLY ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE (USING THE INSIDE HANDLES). AT TIMES, THE FROZEN DOOR LOCKS AND LATCHES WILL NOT RE-SECURE THE DOORS AND THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK OR THE LATCH WILL NOT SECURE AND THE DOOR WILL REMAIN UNSECURED/OPEN AND/OR UNLOCKED. SPOKE TO DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN FEB. 2016 AND WAS ADVISED THAT FORD ISSUED A TEMPORARY FIX FOR THE ISSUE AND A PERMANENT FIX WOULD BE COMING IN THE NEXT 90 DAYS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE DROPS OF RADIATOR FLUID ON THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FRACTURED RADIATOR AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT THE WAY THE RADIATOR WAS MOUNTED TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE WAS WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
DOORS ON MY SUPER CREW CAB WILL NOT OPEN WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW 22 DEGREES. DOORS ARE FROZEN SHUT. DEALER "FIXED" FRONT DOORS BUT REAR DOORS WERE NOT FIXED, PARTS ON NATION-WIDE BACK ORDER BUT DEALER SAYS IT IS LIKELY FORD ENGINEERS TRYING TO SOLVE PROBLEM WITH NEWLY DESIGNED HARDWARE.
WHEN COLD, DOORS DO NOT LATCH SECURELY AND DOOR WILL APPEAR A JAR IN GAUGE CLUSTER AS WELL AS BEING A JAR. IN ADDITION DOORS HAVE POPPED OPEN WHILE IN MOTION BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SECURELY CLOSED.
DURING BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES INTERMITTENTLY THE DRIVERS DOOR WON'T LATCH REPEATED CLOSING OF THE DOOR AND CYCLING OF THE LOCKS DON'T WORK. WARMER TEMPS LATER LET IT LATCH. DURING BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES INTERMITTENTLY THE LEFT REAR DOOR WON'T UNLATCH REPEATED CYCLING OF THE LOCKS HAVE NO EFFECT. WARMER TEMPS LATER LET IT OPEN. GLARE FROM THE CHROME DASH VENT CAUSE A VERY DISTRACTING GLARE ON THE WINDOW WHEN USING THE DRIVERS SIDE VIEW MIRROR. AT A GLANCE BOTH SIDEVIEW MIRRORS SEEM OK BUT WHEN YOU SCAN ACROSS THEM THEY APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN OBTAINED FROM A FUNHOUSE, DISTRACTING.
FRAME HAS WELDS THAT MISSED THEIR TARGET.DEALER REWELDED ONE AND IGNORED ANOTHER. THE FRAME ALSO SHOWED STREAKS OF RUST WHERE SECTION WERE OVERLAPPED. LESS THAN A MONTH OF OWNING IT, A FEW HUNDRED MILES AND NO ROAD SALT EXPOSURE.
I HAVE HAD OVER A DOZEN PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR LOCKS IN COLD WEATHER. THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN AND SOME TIME LATER YOU CAN GET ONE OPEN THEN THEY WILL NOT SHUT THE DOOR WILL BOUNCE BACK. ONCE I GET ABOUT 10 MIKES DOWN THE ROAD WITH THE HEATER BLASTING WIDE OPEN THEY WILL FINALLY LATCH CLOSED. I HAVE BEEN TO TWO DEALERS AND NO HELP. STATIONARY AND DRIVING.
AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 32 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE DOOR LOCKS AND LOCK MECHANISMS WILL INTERMITTENTLY FREEZE IN AN OPENED OR CLOSED POSITION. AT TIMES, DOORS WILL NOT STAY SHUT WHEN ATTEMPTS ARE MADE TO CLOSE THEM FROM THE INSIDE; THIS OCCURS ON ALL 4 DOORS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE DOORS HAVE OPENED, REQUIRING THE PASSENGER AND/OR DRIVER TO PHYSICALLY HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, HOWEVER THEY STATED THAT FORD HAS NOT RELEASED A RELIABLE REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM. OTHER CUSTOMERS HAD THEIR VEHICLES IN REPAIR FOR THE SAME REASON.
BACK DOORS LATCHES WILL NOT RELEASE. I HAVE TRIED TO OPEN THEM IN A HEATED GARAGE (65 DEGREES) BUT TO NO AVAIL. DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT PARTS ARE ON A BACK ORDER AND NOT DUE TILL LATE FEBRUARY.
DOORS WON'T LATCH WHEN TEMPERATURE GETS BELOW 20 DEGREES FARENHEIT. DEALER HAS TRIED TWICE TO FIX IT WITH NO LUCK. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE DOOR WILL UNLATCH
IN TEMPERATURES UNDER FREEZING, THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AND REAR DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. WAS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. AFTER OPENING FROM THE INSIDE, THE DOORS WOULD NOT CLOSE AND SECURE SHUT. NEED TO HOLD THE DOOR IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE POTENTIAL FOR THE DOOR TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING IS POSSIBLE AS THE DRIVER MAY NOT BE AWARE!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE QUALITY AS THIS IS A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM SECONDLY, AS A RESULT OF THE FROZEN DOORS, THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AND REAR DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT FUNCTION... THE DOORS REMAIN UNLOCKED AND WILL NOT LOCK, NEITHER WITH THE POWER FUNCTION OR MANUALLY.... ANOTHER QUALITY AND SAFETY PROBLEM.
DOOR LATCH ON 2015 FORD F150 MALFUNCTIONED DURING FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 11 2016 MY TRUCK HAD BEEN STARTED USING THE REMOTE START AND RAN FOR 10+ MINUTES (HEAT ON),WHEN I ENTERED MY TRUCK AND BEGAN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, I NOTICED THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS ON ALONG WITH ALL OVERHEAD LIGHTS, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS STILL AJAR AND WOULD NOT LATCH. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPT TO CLOSE THE DOOR IT ONLY LATCHED AFTER THE TRUCK WARMED UP. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AT THE TIME WAS 27 DEGREES, AND TRUCK HAD NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO RAIN OR WASHED IN FIVE DAYS. AFRER RESEARCHING ONLINE AND MANY FORUMS, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED ON F150'S MANUFACTURED IN 2015. HOWEVER, WHEN I CALLED FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY ADVISED ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS THEY HAVE NO ISSUES FOR MY F150 WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED...
IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN BOTH OF MY REAR DOORS FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT. I HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE SEAT AND MANUAL UNLOCK THE DOOR. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY YOUNG CHILD SHOULD THE DOORS FAIL AND I NEED TO REMOVE HER IN AN EMERGENCY.

I HEARD HIM LOCK UP HIS BRAKES AND SLAM INTO THE BACK OF MY TRUCK PUSHING ME 15 TO 20FT SLAMMING ME INTO THE SUV IN FRONT OF ME HITTING ME AT DEAD STOP SQUARE ON IN THE BACK DRIVING ME SQUARE ON INTO VEHICLE INFRONT OF ME, NO AIRBAG EVER DEPLOYED I WAS THRUST AGIANST THE STEERING WHEEL IN A SNAPPING ACTION. THE IMPACT WAS SO FORCEFULL IT MOVED THE SUPERCREW BACK SEAT FROM THE DOWN POSITION TO THE FULL UPRIGHT AND LOCKED IN PLACE POSITION AGIANST THE BACK OF...
DOORS NOT LATCHING AND LOCK S NOT WORKING IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING, THE DOOR LATCHES WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR. ALSO, THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT OPERATE. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WHILE HOLDING THE DRIVER'S DOOR CLOSED WITH MY HAND UNTIL IT WARMED UP ENOUGH FOR THE DOOR LATCH TO WORK. THERE IS A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE. TSB 15-0052. IT CALLS FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL 4 DOOR PANELS. INSPECT LATCHES AND CABLES. APPLY GREASE TO ALL COMPONENTS AND THEN REASSEMBLE THE DOOR PANELS. TSB WORK WAS DONE BY MARYSVILLE FORD IN MARYSVILLE, WA ON 12-2-2015. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND KEPT FOR 2 MORE DAYS ON JANUARY 12 2016. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM IN HEATED SHOP. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THEY CONTACTED THE FORD SERVICE HOTLINE AND...
THIS MORNING THE TEMP. WAS 6 DEGREES OUTSIDE, MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE I OPENED THE DOOR GOT IN AND STARTED THE VEHICLE. ONCE I TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR DRIVER DOOR IT WOULDN'T LATCH CLOSE. I TRIED TO UNLOCK/LOCK IT FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE BUT STILL WOULD LATCH CLOSED. INSTEAD OF GETTING IT TOED TO A DEALER I HAD TO DRIVE WHILE HOLDING MY DOOR CLOSED. ONCE I GOT TO WORK (30 MILE DRIVE) THE DOOR BEGAN TO LATCH AGAIN... THIS PUT ME IN A SAFETY RISK AND IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE NEW F150'S FROM READING THE FORUM COMMUNITY. PLEASE HELP GET FORD TO FIX IT. THE DEALER JUST WANTED TO SPRAY LUBE EXTERNALLY ON THE DOOR MECHANISM WHICH DOES NOTHING.
DOORS LATCHES DO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY IN FREEZING CONDITIONS. DOOR WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED THUS FORCING ME TO DRIVE WITH A DOOR THAT IS NOT SECURED AND COULD SWING OPEN.
DRIVERS SIDE SIDEVIEW MIRROR GLASS IS LOOSE AND WILL SHAKE GOING OVER BUMPS OR DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DURING PARTICULARLY HIGH WIND, BUMPY HIGHWAY TRAVEL, IT CAN BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DISCERN WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IN THE MIRROR, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE TO PERFORM LANE CHANGES. THIS HAS BEEN DESCRIBED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AS AN "UNFAVORABLE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE".
