THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON DESPITE ALL DOORS BEING CLOSED. THIS IN TURN PROHIBITS THE DOORS TO LOCK ON THE VEHICLE (WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED).THE DOME LIGHT WILL TURN ON INTERMITTENTLY, THIS INCLUDES DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED - BOTH CREATING MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. BATTERY DRAINAGE - BEING LEFT WITH AN INOPERABLE VEHICLE. VISIBILITY - SEVERE GLARE AND LIMITED VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING IN DARKNESS. PERSONAL SAFETY - DOORS NOT LOOKING CREATES A THREAT TO PERSONAL SAFETY (THERE IS A REASON CAR DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF TAKEOFF - PERSONAL SAFETY). IN ADDITION TO THIS, THE BACKUP CAMERA WENT OUT AT 50000MILES. SO DISAPPOINTED!
THE DOOR AJAR SENSORS ARE ERRATIC AND OFTEN REPORT FALSE AJAR CONDITIONS. THIS RESULTS IN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS NOT GOING OUT UNTIL YOU REACH A CERTAIN FORWARD SPEED AND THE THE DOORS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED WITH THE POWER LOCKS, YOU PRESS LOCK AND THEY UNLOCK. THE LIGHTS ALSO COME ON RANDOMLY WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED. THESE SENSORS HAVE A 100% FAILURE RATE AND ARE PART OF THE DOOR LATCH SO THEY ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. IT MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS MANEUVERING THE CAR AT NIGHT WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON AND IT IS PRETTY UNSAFE TO NOT BE ABLE TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS AND HAVE THEM STAY LOCKED.
MY VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WHERE THE HUD WILL STAY ON OCCASIONALLY AFTER TURNING OFF MY CAR AND LEAVING IT. THIS DRAINS MY BATTERY, LEAVING MY CAR COMPLETELY DEAD. AT ONE TIME IT WAS UNABLE TO EVEN JUMP START. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF. ALSO, ANY OF MY CONTROLS FOR RADIO/VOLUME/CRUISE CONTROL/ETC. WILL OFTEN FREEZE OR SUDDENLY JUMP UP OR DOWN. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY, REGARDLESS IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT.
ON THE HIGHWAY MY ADVANCED SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AND SO DID THE ABS LIGHT.ALSO MY PASSENGER DOOR IS SHUT BUT MY LIGHT IN MY CAR IS ON AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING CODE COMES ON WITH THE DOOR SHUT. AND COMES ON WHILE I'M DRIVING AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO TRY TO GET THE LIGHT OFF.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT WON'T GO OFF. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS WON'T LOCK.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT FOR MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT TURN OFF. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD, AS I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY DOOR IS CLOSED OR ACTUALLY AJAR AND I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY OFTEN. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY I BOUGHT WITH MY CAR, AND WAS SOLD THIS AS BUMPER-TO-BUMPER EVERYTHING COVERED BESIDES THE BRAKES AND TIRES. THE FORD SERVICE CENTER WANTED $450 TO REPAIR SINCE THEY WON'T COVER THIS UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY WON'T GIVE ME MY CAR BACK WITHOUT PAYING A $100 DIAGNOSTICS FEE. 10 SECONDS ON GOOGLE SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ALREADY BEING INVESTIGATED BY NHTSA. PLEASE DO NOT LET UP. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED, OR COVERED UNDER WARRENTY.
THE LEFT REAR DOOR CLOSED SWITCH FAILED CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THIS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO BE DRAINED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED, STRANDING MY DAUGHTER AND MOTHER-IN-LAW.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. THE DOORS WON'T LOCK DUE TO THIS. SAFETY HAZARD FOR EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE
I HAVE THE INFAMOUS "DOOR ALWAYS AJAR" PROBLEM ON MY FORD EDGE. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY THAT GETS CORRODED AND STOPS INDICATING THE DOOR IS CLOSED. WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, THE LOCKS WON'T LOCK, POSING A HAZARD IN A ACCIDENT, IMO. IF THIS IS AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO BE STARTLED AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IF IT IS PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF AND DRAINS THE BATTERY, POSSIBLY STRANDING THE DRIVER IN AN UNFRIENDLY AREA. I LOVE THIS CAR BUT I CAN'T TRUST IT OR DRIVE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IT IS OF THEIR OWN MAKING AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" LIGHT REMAINS LIT AFTER CLOSING. NO OBVIOUS PHYSICAL DEFECT. DOME/INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ILLUMINATED, DOORS WILL NOT LOCK EVEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS UNDERWAY. CENTER DISPLAY REMAINS POWERED/ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND DOORS ARE CLOSED, CAUSING TOTAL DISCHARGE OF THE BATTERY.
DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR A WHILE AFTER YOU START DRIVING. DOORS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK AND IF YOU LOCK THEM THEY WILL AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK WHEN DRIVING. WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE AND YOU GO TO LOCK IT, THE HORN SOUNDS TWICE INDICATING THE DOOR IS NOT SHUT, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON FOR A WHILE. REAL PAIN. FORD NEEDS TO GET THIS FIGURED OUT AND RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE VEHICLES.
DOOR AJAR ISSUE. ALREADY KILLED ONE BATTERY. ALSO IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT'S DARK OUT AND THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHUT OFF. NOT GOING TO PAY ALMOST 500 DOLLARS TO HAVE THIS FIXED WHEN I HEAR OF TONS OF PEOPLE FIXING IT, FOR THE ISSUE TO COME RIGHT BACK WITH A NEW PART.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCK DOORS WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED, INTERIOR LAND EXTERIOR LIGHTS WILL TURN ON WITHOUT REASON. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DRAIN FREQUENTLY. IF DOORS ARE LOCKED WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED, THE CAR ALARM WILL GO OFF FREQUENTLY.
THE DRIVERS SIDE 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT STAYS ON, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS OBVIOUSLY NOT OPEN. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE BEGINS MOVING FORWARD AFTER REACHING A CERTAIN SPEED. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF, THE RADIO & POWER IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF AS WELL. THIS COULD BECOME A PROBLEM IF IT KILLS THE BATTERY.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS CLOSED WHICH PREVENTS DOORS BEING LOCKED WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION. EVEN THOUGH CAR IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF, INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON.
WHILE LOADING/UNLOADING FROM BACK, GATE COMES DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY.
ALARM JUST GOES OFF WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND NO ONE IS AROUND. IT EVEN GOES OFF IN GARAGE.
INTERMITTENTLY, HAZARD LIGHTS COME ON WHILE CAR IS PARKED.
MYTOUCH SCREEN WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO CHANGE TIME, TURN ON HEAT FOR SEATS OR CHOOSE BETWEEN DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS, ADJUST TEMPERATURE IN VEHICLE. SOMETIMES WHEN TRYING TO TURN HEAT ON SEAT, IT WILL JUST CHANGE RADIO STATIONS. SCREEN NOT SENSITIVE TO TOUCH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HAD A CHIP INCORRECTLY INSTALLED, WHICH CAUSED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO DISPLAY "DOOR AJAR" EVEN AFTER THE DOOR REMAINED CLOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTING REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. SAM PACK'S FIVE STAR FORD IN CARROLLTON, TEXAS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO FORD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

BATTERY TESTED FINE. WHEN STATIONARY THE FORD EDGE WILL NOT START AND ALL WARNING SIGNS FOR THE VEHICLE ARE ON. THE RADIO TURNS IS ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS. ALSO, WHILE IN MOTION THE CAR IT ALL OF SUDDEN STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC MY NEIGHBORHOOD.
FOR MONTHS, THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR, RANDOMLY UNLOCKING DOORS/INTERIOR & EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLASH/ ALARM GOES OFF AND DASH/TOUCH SCREEN GOES ON/OFF. SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAN RANDOMLY COME ON AT NIGHT... CAR HAS TO BE LEFT UNLOCKED OR DOORS RANDOMLY UNLOCK THEMSELVES.. AND BATTERY DIES BECAUSE LIGHTS AND ALARMS GO ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME...ALL CAUSED BY THIS ISSUE. AFRAID THIS MAY CAUSE OTHER ISSUES, POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD IF THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE. FORD WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY HAVEN'T HAD ENOUGH COMPLAINTS. THEY GAVE ME A CASE # AFTER THE FIFTH MONTH OF CALLING THEM, ONLY TO DENY IT AFTER I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. FRUSTRATED!

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I HAVE A 2011 FORD EDGE LIMITED THAT I BOUGHT FROM SHULTZ FORD IN WEXFORD PA IN 2014. I HAD WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER TEAM TO WORK WITH. [XXX] WAS A GREAT SALESMAN AND TREATED ME LIKE I WAS HIS FRIEND INSTEAD OF A SALESMAN. MY EXPERIENCE WAS THE BEST! IN MARCH OF 2016, I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE APIM MODULE FOR MY 2011 FORD EDGE LIMITED BEING EXTENDED FROM THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURES DATE. I NOTIFIED SHULTZ IN MARCH OF 2016 ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED BY ONE MONTH. IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT BY ANY MEANS, BUT TO ME AND MY FAMILY IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND ALSO A LIABILITY. YOU SEE, I HAVE 4 PRECIOUS CHILDREN AND THEY ARE ACTIVE AND ALWAYS PLAYING FROM AGES 2 TO 9 YEARS OLD. IF THEY ARE...

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON AFTER YOU GET OUT OF CAR AND WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. ALSO THE CAR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION WHILE PARKED BUT STAYING IN THE CAR. A BELL WILL JUST KEEP RINGING UNTIL YOU REMOVE THE KEY.

DISCOVER IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE DOOR LATCH WHICH HOUSES THE SENSOR/SWITCH FOR THE AJAR LIGHT. INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE VEHICLE THINKING THE DOOR WAS OPEN. MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A 2008 FORD EDGE AND HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH HER VEHICLE. I PURCHASED MINE THINKING FORD ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY.
DOOR AJAR ISSUE. EVEN WHEN ALL DOORS SHUT, SLAMMED SHUT, CLOSED NICELY, SHOWS AS DRIVER DOOR AJAR. THIS IS ALSO WHEN LOCKING THE CAR AND ARMING THE ALARM
I HAVE HAD MY DOOR AJAR SENSORS MALFUNCTION 3 SEPERATE TIMES. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY. THIS 3RD TIME I HAVE BEEN QUOTED $800+ TO FIX THIS BECAUSE NOW BOTH DOORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. THIS IS A HUGE ANNOYANCE AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS MAKES MY DOOM LIGHTS STAY ON AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO LOCK MY DOORS WHILE I AM USING MY CAR, WHICH IS EXTREMELY SCARY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. ADDITIONALLY, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHEN IN DRIVE DUE TO PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING WHICH PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH TIME. BATTERY CAR HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON ALL NIGHT. OPENING AND RE-SHUTTING DOOR IS INCONSISTENT FIX. WD-40 NOT EFFECTIVE. NOT USING PASSENGER DOOR ONCE WARNING LIGHT TURNS OFF IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO KEEP DOOR CLOSED. PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED WHENEVER KEY IS IN IGNITION. WHEN CAR IS OFF AND KEY IS OUT, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON INDEFINITELY, CAR IS ONLY ABLE TO BE LOCKED WHEN CAR IS OFF AND KEY IS OUT OF IGNITION.
DOOR AJAR ON FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON AND NOT BEING ABLE TO AUTOMATIC LOCKING MECHANISM AFTER YOU START DRIVING OR BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE CAR WHEN YOU PARK SAID VEHICLE. WAS TOLD BY DEALER FORD IS NOTORIOUS FOR THE FORD 2011 EDGE 3.5L V6 ELECTRICAL-SWITCH & RELAY DOOR OPEN WARNING RELAY WAS MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE . AND IT WILL KEEP THE COMPUTER OPEN AND WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY QUICKLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DIE ON THE ROADSIDE AFTER OVER 1500 COMPLAINT TO FORD COMPANY THEY STATED NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINT .....THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN THEY CAN OPEN A UNLOCKED DOOR WHAT MORE PROOF DO YOU NEED FORD NOT TO RECALL THIS ISSUE AND FIX IT !!
DOOR AJAR LIGHT ALWAYS ON EVEN WHILE DOOR IS CLEARLY SHUT. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING AND DOME LIGHTS STAY ON DRAINING BATTERY.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH THAT SENSES WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. THEREFORE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, AND ALSO PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. ONLINE SEARCHES INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT'S NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DESIGN OF THE DOOR SWITCH SEEMS FAULTY, AS IT REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT LABOR TO DISASSEMBLE THE DOOR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY. THIS OCCURS WHILE CAR IS PARKED AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS IN MOTION.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH THAT SENSES WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. THEREFORE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, AND ALSO PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. ONLINE SEARCHES INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT'S NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DESIGN OF THE DOOR SWITCH SEEMS FAULTY, AS IT REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT LABOR TO DISASSEMBLE THE DOOR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY.
MY "DOOR AJAR" CONTINUES TO STAY ON AND I CANNOT ALARM THE CAR AS IT SHOWS THE DRIVERS DOOR AS UNLOCKED. I FOUND OUT THAT THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS FAULTY AND WILL COST ME AROUND $450 TO CORRECT. FOR A 6-YEAR-OLD CAR, THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE OUT SO SOON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CONSTANTLY INDICATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN WHEN, IN FACT, THE DOOR WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
WHEN I SHUT MY DRIVER DOOR THE LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR". I HAVE TO KEEP SHUTTING/SLAMMING THE DOOR TO CLEAR ALARM. AT MOST IT WILL NOT GO OFF. WHEN I START TO DRIVE WITH ALL THE DOORS CLOSED ALL DOORS SHOULD LOCK AND THEY DON'T BECAUSE THE DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND I DON'T THINK IT'S SAFE. WHEN I HIT MY KEY TO LOCK THE DOORS AFTER I GET OUT MY INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH IS CAUSING LOW BATTERY! THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! FOR YOU TO PROVIDE VEHICLES TO THE WORLD SAFETY IS A MUST AND THEIR ARE SO MANY OTHERS OUT THERE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM WHY BE SO SLOW TO CORRECT IT!!
ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 03/2017, CAR ONLY HAS 64K MILES ON IT. DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON WHEN DRIVER OR PASSENGER DOOR IS OPENED THEN CLOSED. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE CAR IS IN REVERSE ONLY TURNING OFF ONCE CAR IS IN DRIVE DANGEROUS WHEN BACKING AT NIGHT. THE BIGGER CONCERN IS NONE OF THE DOORS WILL STAY LOCKED WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND THIS DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON. THIS LIGHT STAYS ON ABOUT 90% OF THE TIME, OPENING AND CLOSING DOOR OVER AND OVER ON OCCASION WILL TURN IT OFF.
MY 2011 FORD EDGE MY TOUCH SCREEN WENT BLACK. I WAS AWAY FROM HOME AND WITH A BLACK SCREEN I AM UNABLE TO SET TEMP OF HEAT OR AIR, OR CONTROL/MY WINDOW DEFROSTER/FOGGER.
DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER DOOR IS CLOSED.
