Consumer Description

I HAVE THE INFAMOUS "DOOR ALWAYS AJAR" PROBLEM ON MY FORD EDGE. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY THAT GETS CORRODED AND STOPS INDICATING THE DOOR IS CLOSED. WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, THE LOCKS WON'T LOCK, POSING A HAZARD IN A ACCIDENT, IMO. IF THIS IS AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON AND THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE DRIVER TO BE STARTLED AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IF IT IS PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF AND DRAINS THE BATTERY, POSSIBLY STRANDING THE DRIVER IN AN UNFRIENDLY AREA. I LOVE THIS CAR BUT I CAN'T TRUST IT OR DRIVE IT UNTIL IT IS FIXED. THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IT IS OF THEIR OWN MAKING AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AND FOR YOUR WORK AT KEEPING THE PUBLIC SAFE!
