Door ajar warning even though the door is closed. Doors will not lock and interior lights remain on.
MY PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WOULD COME ON AND I KNOW MY DOOR IS SHUT. IT'S STARTING TO GET BAD NOW. THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE DOOR POPPED OPEN A LITTLE TO WHERE I CAN HEAR THE OUTSIDE AIR COMING IN. I WAS DRIVING FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIS HAPPEN. THIS HAS TO BE FIX SOON.

MY PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT/ALARM COMES ON RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS AFTER SOMEONE GETS IN AND SHUTS THE DOOR. THIS WEEKEND IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT DURING TERRIBLE RAIN...CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AND NEARLY BLIND THE DRIVER(ME). IT DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN/CLOSED. THIS ALSO KEEPS THE CAR FROM LOCKING CORRECTLY...IT AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. LAST- THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON WHEN YOU EXIT THE VEHICLE WHICH ENDS UP KILLING THE BATTERY. YOU MIGHT THINK IT IS OK- BUT IT JUST DECIDES TO TRIGGER THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR AND LIGHTS ARE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, AFTER I THOUGHT IT WAS LOCKED UP AND SECURE FOR THE NIGHT. IT ALSO MAKES ME WONDER IF THE DOOR LATCH IS NOT WORKING AND THE PASSENGER MAY BE...
MY PASSENGER DOOR INDICATES THAT WHEN CLOSED THAT IT IS NOT. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND SO DOES THE DASH INDICATOR. IT HAS ALSO DONE IT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. CREEPY, SINCE I'M DISABLED AND HAVE HANDS CONTROLS TO DRIVE. SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RECLOSE THE DOOR. PLUS ONCE THE LIGHTS COME ON I CAN'T SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR

THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR SENSOR IS BAD, WHICH KEEPS THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON AT ALL TIMES, AND KEEPS THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS ON FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, WHICH DRAINS THE BATTERY AND IS ALSO DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. HAD THE DEALER "FIX" THE ISSUE BY DOING A CLEANING/CYCLING ON THE ELECTRICAL PART OF THE LATCH, BUT IT ONLY LASTED A FEW MONTHS AND NOW THE PROBLEM IS BACK. FORD DOES NOT SEEM WILLING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE AS A SAFETY CONCERN - UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH OVERHEAD LIGHTS ON, AND IT DRAINS THE BATTERY, WHICH HAS CAUSED OTHER ISSUES FOR ME, INCLUDING HAVING TO REPLACE THE BATTERY WELL AHEAD OF ITS INTENDED USEFUL LIFE. *TR

FAULTY DOOR LATCH, DRIVERS DOOR. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, BECAUSE OF THIS, THE DOME LIGHTS DO NOT GO OFF UNLESS DRIVING AT A CERTAIN SPEED, BUT STAYS ON WHEN BACKING. THIS MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DO AT NIGHT TIME BECAUSE THE LIGHTS BLIND YOU. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE SWITCH, YOU MUST PHYSICALLY PUSH EACH DOOR LOCK PLUNGER DOWN, WHICH IS DIFFICULT TO DO WITHOUT CRAWLING AROUND.I REPLACED THE LATCH THE FIRST TIME UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW IT HAS HAPPENED A SECOND TIME ONLY 13 MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST REPLACEMENT. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR MESSAGE WAS ALSO DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER TO STOP THE MESSAGE FROM DISPLAYING AND THE WARNING LIGHT FROM ILLUMINATING. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR CONTINUES TO HAVE A "DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND THEN SYSTEM TO "BING" ABOUT THE DOOR BEING OPEN WHEN IT IS CLEARLY CLOSED. NOT TO MENTION THE DOORS WON'T LOCK BECAUSE OF IT AND I DON'T KNOW IF THE DOOR IS EVER TRULY OPEN OR IF THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY. APPROXIMATELY THE "DOOR AGAR" WARMING LIGHT CAME ON. NO BIG DEAL, RIGHT? NO, WRONG, WHEN THIS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, THERE IS NO WAY TO KEEP THE DOORS LOCKED WHILE TRAVELING IN THE CAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, KINDA LIKE NOT BEING ABLE TO WEAR A SEAT BELT. THE MOST RECENT EVENT OCCURRED WHEN WE WERE TRAVELING BACK HOME AT NIGHT. THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCE HAPPENED. OPENED AND CLOSED THE DOOR NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THE DOOR AJAR AND DOME LIGHT STAYED ON. IT FINALLY WENT OFF AFTER 15 MINUTES OF OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR. TOOK TO THE FORD DEALER AND COST ME $500 TO HAVE THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM CHANGED. I GOOGLED AND FOUND THIS IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF FORD AUTOMOBILES. IN FACT, THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT 2 MORE CASES CAME IN TODAY AS I PICKED UP MY CAR.
