Door sensor not working, lights stay on and the battery keeps going off, very common issue from research online

This back up camera has been an issue almost immediately after I got the car. Now the picture is upside down and has lines across the screen. I am on disability and I need my camera. That's one of the reasons I bought the car. Please fix this ASAP

Originally when I purchased my, 2011 Ford Edge SEL 3.5L v6. I was informed upon purchasing the vehicle that the rear view camera was malfunctioning. I told the car dealer that was no big issue that I would take care of the problem. This was in around Sept 21, 2021. I did buy a new camera and replaced the malfunctioning camera. Which it worked just fine until the issued recall for the 2021 ford edge when my vehicle started showing the rear view camera unavailable. Which was weird since it worked completely fine the day before. I did a full software update to the system. The first time it said update successful. My camera has been upside down and or blank or won't show anything half the time and took to the dealer and they said they cant fix it because software issue but Ford has recalled other cars cameras for the same issue. Can't see behind me very well due to camera malfunction almost every time in reverse.

I'm not sure if it's electrical or the transmission. My car is not going on parking gear. The car don't start abs the shifter is not moving. My car shifter was on parking gear, but on the dash it's not showing it's on parking. My safety concern is that the car rolls (moves) even though the car is off , no keys in the ignition. I have had several problems with my back up camera. My camera now is showing the picture upside down. As a [XXX], I am using this for safety and it is very distressing since this is one reason I purchased my Ford Vehicle. I need the registration and license plates to my vehicle. My car was not in a accident.

Eternal water pump failure. Water pump came loose while Driving dumped coolant into engine causing engine to have catastrophic failure. Need a full engine replacement. Took vehicle to 2 mechanics for diagnosis. Both states vehicle has coolant in engine. Engine needs replaced I'm uploading an estimate from a certified FORD dealership after I told them the issue over the phone.

Rearview camera screen is blank or scrambled 98% of the time. The backup sensor has also stopped working. This does not allow me to utilize the safety features for parking or reversing. This issue has been found in newer models of my vehicle and those are currently being recalled. There is no warning for the rearview camera screen, but sometimes it does say that the camera is not available. This issue has been ongoing for years.

My car will turn on the lights in the middle of the night, without anybody in it. Battery is continuously dead, even after replacing with a new battery. The alternator and starter have been checked and are good. The passenger door ajar is always on. When I lock the car with my key fob it honks twice and the lights inside the car remain on. Engine light came on but 0 warning detected on the menu . water pump failure on my vehicle. In shop now the repair is costly due to the water pump placement. Could have other major issues in repair shop now . 0 warning on menu inside car ?

The interior dome light stays on and door-ajar light for the driver/passenger doors. I have opened and shut the doors gently several times and the light will stay on for at least 50 mins. Sometimes, the light pops on when the car has been sitting in park.

The door Ajar is not indicating door is shut therfore I am unable to lock door also dome lights remain on draining battery. I have tried cleaning out area it helps sometimes then goes back to not working. This is a safety issue for me and my kids as I cannot lock my vehicle and my vehicle will not lock making it unsafe while driving.

Vehicle turned off completely while driving without notice. Lost all power, power steering, etc. Had to pull off to side of road. Once car was placed in park position, all lights came back on and I was able to start the vehicle again like nothing had happened. Very dangerous situation.

I own a 2011 Ford Edge that has a reoccurring door latch issue. This is a well known issue with certain Ford Edge years. The door latches are defective and malfunction, causing a "door ajar" dash warning light and the interior lights come on. We have had all 4 door latches replaced, but I currently have one malfunctioning again. The last one I had replaced in 2018 was not covered under warranty, and cost me $350. I spoke with Ford and they refuse to reimburse me. My daughter currently drives this car. It is unsafe when the interior lights come on at night when driving due to this issue. Ford should step up and recall these models with this problem.

I am having issues with my edge dying on me a lot it shuts off all power and I have to pull to the side of the road. I was on the freeway last week on my way to work and it lost all power. This is a serious issue and is very dangerous specially when I have young ones. I have read where a lot of people are having the same problem. A lot of people are saying the throttle body. This needs to be recalled and fix before there is a pile up on the hwy and someone is killed.

While driving down the road my brakes completely locked up on me and by the time I could safely pull over, all 4 tires were smoking (I'm assuming coming from the brakes). I had it towed to a Ford dealer were I was notified that I was the 3rd Ford Edge this week to have the brake system lock up (one of the other vehicles was just purchased by the employee that I was speaking with and his brakes locked up the day after purchasing it, while driving down the highway). When driving, you loose power from the gas peddle, the wrench light appears, you must pull of the road, put the vehicle in park, turn it off, and then restart it, this can happen at any time, 20mp or 80mp, you never know when you will loose power of this vehicle. VERY DANGEROUS

Brake pedal is hard & won't stop vehicle & then goes soft. Has to be pressed to the floor to stop, also makes a high pitched squeal when pushed sometimes.

The “Vista” sunroof on my car is stuck open. This allows rain to come into my car providing hazardous driving conditions. The Ford dealer wants $4000 to repair & $500 to close. I’ve asked Ford several times for a detailed breakdown of costs, they have not provided anything to date.

I I CANNOT REMOVE THE HEAD RESTS ON THE REAR SEATS. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2014, I BELIEVE. IF I PUT THE REAR SEATS DOWN, IT'S OKAY, BUT WITH THEM UP, IT BLOCKS APPROX. 30% OF VIEW, OUT THE BACK WINDOW. TO ME, THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS MY PASSENGER DOOR SAYS OPEN AND LEAVES LIGHT ON KILLING MY BATTERY AND THE DOOR IS CLOSED

THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS KEEPS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON AND DRAINS THE BATTERY AND THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I HAVE MY GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR AND I CANNOT LOCK THE CAR. ALSO, I WORK AROUND CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES AND IT IS REQUIRED THAT WE KEEP OUR CARS LOCKED. WHILE DRIVING FOR AWHILE, VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WENT LIMP WITH NO ACCELERATION WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A LARGE ROTARY WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. THE TOOL WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON THE DISPLAY. THE STEERING AND BRAKING WERE STILL OPERABLE, BUT WITHOUT POWER, VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO MOVE OUT OF TRAFFIC. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY, ALSO ON BUSY ROAD. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO COME IN WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE SINCE THERE IS NO ACCELERATION TO DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, MY EMERGENCY HAZARDS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES. WILL NOT TURN OFF BY TOUCHING HAZARD BUTTON, OR PULLING BATTERY TERMINAL. TOOK TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID MY BODY CONTOL MODULE IS FAULTY, AND WONT READ ANY CODES. NEED TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR FAULTY BCM.
