PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2013, INQUIRED ABOUT DEFECTS AND RECALLS BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NONE. VEHICLE HAD 46,000 MILES ON IT AT TIME OF PURCHASE 104K PRESENTLY. GOOD RUNNING VEHICLE UP TO PAR ON MAINTENANCE, WHICH ALL GOES TO WASTE WITH A ROTTED SUBFRAME. RESEARCHED 100'S POSSIBLY 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE, WHERE WAS MENTIONED NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. CONTACTED CHRYSLER MYSELF TO PUT IN COMPLAINT AND AGENT WOULD NOT EVEN FORWARD IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL BECAUSE THE LACK OF RECALL OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE COST FOR A NEW FRAME FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER IS OVER 2K AND COST JUST AS MUCH TO REPLACE. BUT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER FOR WEEKS. (COULD THIS MEAN THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN LINE WAITING TO ORDER AND NEEDING THIS PARTICULAR PART?) CANNOT TRUST USED PARTS BECAUSE OF MANY CHRYSLER PACIFICA OWNERS HAD TO SALVAGE...
NOTICED A LOT OF CLUNKING COMING FROM THE FRONT OF OUR 2006 PACIFICA. LOOKED UNDER VEHICLE AND NOTICED RUST AND HOLES IN THE ENGINE CRADLE. TOOK TO MY MECHANIC, HE CONFIRMED THE ENGINE CRADLE IS ABOUT TO FAIL. I CONTACTED BURGER CHRYSLER IN TERRE HAUTE IN. THEY STATED VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER ANY RECALL OR SAFETY NOTICE. AND FIXING IT WOULD BE OUT OF MY POCKET. I RESEARCHED THE VEHICLE ON THE NHTSA WEB SITE. NEED LESS TO SAY I'M ASHAMED TO OWN ONE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY MESS UP.
THE ENGINE CRADLE ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING IS ALMOST COMPLETELY RUSTED AND CRACKED THROUGH. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC BECAUSE IT WAS SHAKING AND BUCKING AND WAS TOLD TO STOP DRIVING IT BECAUSE ONE MORE BUMP COULD BREAK THE CRADLE CAUSING MY ENGINE TO DROP. IT WILL COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT. MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON TAKING HER VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR SERVICE, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS EXTREMELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND CALLED ED MARTIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2109 E 53RD ST, ANDERSON, IN 46013) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
MY CAR WAS BUILT IN 2005 WHEN THE SUBFRAME RECALL WAS ISSUED, I CALLED THEM TO TRY AND GET SOME HELP, BASICALLY GET REIMBURSED FOR THE LABOR OF GETTING THE REPLACEMENT SUBFRAME INSTALLED. THE OLD SUBFRAME FINALLY BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT CITY SPEEDS AND I WAS LUCKY THAT THE SHOP I USED LET ME KNOW. WHEN I CONTACTED THEM, THE STATEMENT WAS THAT DUE TO THE AGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE OF THE CAR, WE CAN NOT HELP YOU. NOW IF I HAD OF BEEN ON A ROAD TRIP OR DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO ANYONE WHO HAS THIS VEHICLE AND HAS RUN OUT OF WARRANTY TO GET IT REPLACED. BELOW ARE PHOTOS OF THE OLD SUBFRAME AND THE DOOR STICKER
WHEN MOVING FROM THE HUMID EAST TO THE DESERT WEST ALL CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS AND MOTOR MOUNTS DRIED UP AND CRACKED CAUSING OVER THE COURSE OF A FEW WEEK TRACTIONS PROBLEMS MADE WORSE WHEN GETTING NEW TIRES AND AFTER FISHTAILING IN THE RAIN I BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC THAT FOUND THAT ALL RUBBER COMPONENTS HAD DRIED UP. I ENDED UP HAVING TO CHANGE ALL CONTROL ARMS AND MOTOR MOUNTS WHICH WHERE ALL CRACKED AND BROKEN.

THE ENGINE CRADLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH AND MOTOR MOUNTS AS WELL.I TOOK INTO A SHOP,HE REFUSED TO FIX MY IDLE PULLEY AND TOLD US IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE OUR 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HUNTINGTON JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (1220 E JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, NY 11743, (631) 629-6920) WHERE THE CORROSION WAS CONFIRMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

THAT THE METAL WAS NOT TREATED PROPERLY TO STOP THE METAL FROM CORRODING AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ENGINE FALLING OR STEERING COMPROMISED ,I WAS INSTRUCTED BY CHRYSLER IN DETROIT MICHIGAN TO TAKE THE AUTOMOBILE TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP ZIEGLERS IN SCHAUMBURG IL 60172 , TO HAVE A DEALER LOOK AT IT , AND THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME ALMOST $150.00 BECAUSE THEY WANT A CASE # FIRST BUT THE PEOPLE WE TALKED TO AT CHRYSLER IN DETROIT , NOELOYN AND ANGELICA AT 1-800-247-9753 SAID THEY WERE JUST GOING TO MAKE A NOTATION OF IT . CAR MILEAGE 59,698. IN DECEMBER 2017 TOOK MY CAR FOR A TIRE ROTATION AS THE 2 FRONT TIRES ARE SHOWING VISIBLE WEAR AND WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC THAT MY SUB FRAME BELOW THE ENGINE IS ROTTED OUT. AND YEP SAW IT FOR MYSELF. BOTH SIDES OF FRAME ROTTED OUT WITH VISIBLE HOLES. WAS TOLD SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF THERE ARE CRACKS OR SEAMS WHICH ALLOWED WATER AND JUNK IN BUT NO WHERE FOR IT TO EXIT. WAS QUOTED $1600 TO REPLACE. VERY UPSET AS WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET AND VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE OTHER THEN VERY SHORT DISTANCES UNTIL WE CAN AFFORD TO FIX IT. ALSO WE ARE THINKING 2 FRONT TIRES ARE OUT OF TREAD AND NEED REPLACED WAS/IS CAUSED FROM THE SUB FRAME BEING DEFECTIVE AND THROWING VEHICLE TIRES OUT OF BALANCE. SO AS WELL, WE HAVE TO PURCHASE 2...
I HAD THE OIL CHANGED ON DECEMBER 20TH, 2017, AND WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THE ENGINE WAS READY TO FALL OUT. HE SAID THE SUB FRAME THAT SUPPORTS THE ENGINE WAS ROTTED OUT AND READY TO FAIL. I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR IN THIS CONDITION.I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF AROUND $3,000.00 TO FIX IT. I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND NEVER HEARD OF ANY CAR EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM.

2006 PACIFICA WITH 105,000 MILES. TOOK IN FOR SERVICE AND MECHANIC FOUND BADLY CORRODED ENGINE CRADLE. I CAN PEEL THE RUST AWAY AND PUT MY FINGERS IN THE HOLES AND GAPS IN THE CENTER SUPPORT TIE IN. IN ADDITION TO STRESS CRACKS IN THE LH SIDE OF THE ENGINE SUPPORT. DEALER TOLD ME NO WARRANTY COVERAGE, NO RECALL. CANT AFFORD REPAIR AND CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. FRAME RUSTED OUT AFTER ONLY 11 YEARS OLD!! WHAT HAPPENED TO "MADE IN AMERICA" STOOD FOR QUALITY AND BEING A GOOD THING.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2016 THE ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED THROUGH AND THE ENGINE LOWERED AND THE CRADLE ITSELF WAS DRAGGING ALONG THE STREET. MY WIFE WAS LEAVING OUR TOWN OF OWOSSO, MICHIGAN TO GO TO DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS IN LANSING, MICHIGAN ABOUT 35 MILES AWAY. THE PACIFICA HAD 119,101 MILES ON IT AND WAS OTHERWISE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. WE HAD PURCHASED THE CAR FROM A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ABOUT 15 MILES AWAY ABOUT SEVEN YEARS PRIOR WITH 42,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAD ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP WAS SOLD IN FEBRUARY 2016. WITHOUT REPAIR THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE WAS JUST SCRAP METAL, REPAIR WAS AN ABSOLUTE TO SALVAGE ANY VALUE, THE REPAIR COST $3214.07. *TR

CHRYSLER HAS ONLY REPAIR ROUGHLY 7,000 VEHICLES MADE IS 2004 DURING A ONE MONTH PERIOD. THIS IS A MODEL/YEAR WIDE PROBLEM. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT CURRENTLY PENDING.

ON JUNE 21, 2016 TOOK VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR EMISSION REPAIRS. INFORMED VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO RUSTED SUB-FRAME AND CRADLE WHICH HOLDS THE ENGINE. WENT BACK AND VIEWED VEHICLE. ENTIRE CRADLE, I.E. SUB-FRAME CORRODED. NEVER RECEIVED RECALL. OWNED VEHICLE SINCE 2007. ESTIMATE OF REPAIRS OF $5,000.00.
PURCHASED CAR USED WITH LESS THAN 85K MILES. WHEN I WENT TO GET IT STATE INSPECTED 1 WEEK AFTER PURCHASE I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED OUT. REPAIR ESTIMATES RANGE FROM $3300 TO OVER $4000. THE CAR IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 100K MILES. NO HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURER. MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME SITUATION. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING SITUATION FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. CAR IS WORTH AS MUCH AS THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE MADE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. BAD PRODUCT. EVEN PARTIAL HELP WITH THE REPAIRS WOULD HELP. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN "AMERICAN MADE".
THE ENGINE/SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER IS SEVERELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS TYPE OF CORROSION IS NOT EVIDENT ELSEWHERE ON THE VEHICLE FRAME, ONLY ON THIS CROSSMEMBER. THIS PROBLEM HAS GAINED NATIONAL ATTENTION FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS YET CHRYSLER HAS CHOSEN NOT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT; NAMELY INADEQUATE ANTI-CORROSION COATING THICKNESS. I SPOKE TO A CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE TODAY AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE WITH THE $3,050 REPAIR/REPLACEMENT COST OF THIS FAILED COMPONENT. I HAVE ALL OF MY VEHICLE SERVICE DONE AT A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. I'VE HAD THEM INSPECT FOR THIS DEFECT IN THE PAST BUT THERE WERE PREVIOUSLY NO REPORTED ISSUES. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE YESTERDAY, THE MECHANIC WARMED ME OF THE NOW OBVIOUSLY UNSAFE SITUATION. IN FACT, I NORMALLY PURCHASE A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP THAT LASTS TWO YEARS. THEY DECLINED TO SELL ME THE CONTRACT SITING THAT THE ENGINE COULD POSSIBLY FALL...
WHILE CHECKING TIRES, NOTICED HOLES RUSTED THROUGH IN THE FRAME. TOOK THE CAR TO THE GARAGE AND MECHANIC PUT IT ON HOIST AND SAW THE WHOLE FRAME IS RUSTED IN THE ENGINE CARRIAGE AND SIDES. WHOLE UNDERSIDE IS READY TO FALL THROUGH. CAN'T BE WELDED, JUST REPLACED.

HOW CAN A PART THE HOLDS THE ENGINE/TRANS/SUSPENSION DETERIORATE SO BADLY NEW SUB FRAME IS A LIST PRICE OF $3500.00.THE COST OF REPAIR IS MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. IT IS OTHERWISE A PERFECT CAR. MY SUB-FRAME IS RUSTING OUT ON MY CAR. I SEE THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS HAZARDOUS CONDITION. BY DOING RESEARCH, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE CAN FALL OUT. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING.
A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, I NOTICED MY REAR TIRE LEANING OUTWARD. TOOK IT TOO THE SHOP A FEW TIMES WONDERING WHAT WAS THE CAUSE. IT WAS DETERMINED FROM A DEALERSHIP IT WAS THE STRUTS. I WAS TOLD THE PACIFICA WAS KNOWN FOR IT. SO I HAD THE STRUTS REPLACED. IT HELPED BUT THE TIRE WAS STILL LEANING, IT WASN'T PERFECT LIKE THE REST. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER REASON BECAUSE EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD UNDERNEATH AND SUSPENSION. I LOOKED SEVERAL TIMES, MYSELF. NOT SEEING ANY MAJOR RUST OR ANYTHING UNSAFE. THEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY 150 MILE'S FROM HOME, AT 70 MPH, A HARD BANG AND THE REAR END LIFTED UP AND DROPPED DOWN. CAR UNCONTROLLABLE. FINALLY ABLE TO STOP AND REALIZE THE SUBFRAME DROPPED RIGHT OUT OF THE CAR LEAVING MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL ON THE GROUND. IT HAD RUSTED FROM THE TOP OF THE SUBFRAME...
WHEN TAKING MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO BE SERVICED FOR BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT. MY VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN THE SHOP, NOT EVEN 30 MINUTES PASSED AND I WAS CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY BY THE MECHANIC, THAT IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING MY MOTOR MOUNT HE NOTICED THAT MY CRADLE WAS ROTTED OUT AND VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THIS WAS A VERY IMPORTANT COMPONENT ON MY VEHICLE, (STEERING, ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND ECT.) ARE BEING HELD UP BY THE CRADLE, AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT AT ANYTIME! I AM IN FEAR FOR MY FAMILY AND I, TO KNOW THAT WE TRAVEL AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE FREE WAY. WE LIVE IN A CITY WHERE THERE ARE MANY POT HOLES AND CRATERS IN THE STREETS WE DRIVE ON, AND TO KNOW THAT WE CAN BE IN DANGER IS INSANE. HE QUOTED ME AROUND $3,000 TO REPAIR AND I CANNOT...
DISCOVERED EXCESSIVE RUST ON THE SUBFRAME AND UNDERBODY MEMBERS AFTER TRYING TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING. SPECIFICALLY, A "CLICKING" NOISE HAD APPEARED UNEXPECTEDLY DURING TURNING AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAD UNDUE RESISTANCE WHILE TURNING. AFTER CHECKING FOR TIRE PROBLEMS AND OTHER ISSUES, A MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A SUBFRAME FAILURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST. UPDATE ON EARLIER REPORT. HAD AN INDEPENDENT SEVICE STATION CHECK CONDITION OF RUSTING ENGINE CRADLE ON 7/21/15. MECHANIC REPORTED THAT THE ROT DAMAGE IS A SAFETY ISSUE, CAR SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. REAR ENGINE CRADLE CROSS MEMBER RUSTING OUT OVER THE YEARS DRIVEN, UNKNOWN TO ME. ALSO BROUGHT CAR TO CHRYSLER SEVICE STATION FOR THEIR MECHANIC'S INSPECTION ON 7/ 27/15. REPORTED THAT THE CRADLE WAS VERY RUSTY. LARGE RUSTED OUT HOLES IN THE STUCTURE ARE VERY EASY TO SEE. I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS O.K. TO DRIVE TODAY AND THAT THE ENGINE COULD FALL THROUGH AT ANY TIME LATER. NOT A SAFETY ISSUE ? WAS ALSO TOLD I COULD KEEP COMMING BACK REPETEDLY AT 52$ A POP TO HAVE THEM CHECK ON THE PROGRESSION OF THE ROT. QUOTED $2800 FOR REPAIR, CAR NOT WORTH THE COST, NOR CAN I AFFORD THE COST. I WAS RUSHED OUT OF THE SEVICE...
ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED THROUGH LOWER SECTION ON EACH END. NOTICED AT ONSET OF OIL CHANGE.
TRAVELING AT 35 - 40 MPH AND CARS CAME TO A STOP AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I PUSHED THE BRAKES, THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. STEERING WHEEL AND UNDER STEERING WHEEL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, BURNING MY SHIN. UPON STARTING THE CAR AT THE BODY SHOP, THE DASHBOARD CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO THE AIRBAG MODULAR. FIRE DESTROYED MY VEHICLE.
WE HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT WE PURCHASED USED IN 2008 WITH 26K MILES. IN 2011 WE STARTED EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS. SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE CAME UP WITH CODES P0700, P0420 AND P0456 AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT , THE CATALYST CONVERTER REPLACED AND NEW FUEL PUMP DUE TO THE EVAP LEAK. IN A MATTER OF MONTHS, WE SPENT $5,900 ON REPAIRS AND IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO PASS INSPECTION. WE WERE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND AFTER CONTACTING CHRYSLER REPEATEDLY, WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE, SO WE WERE FORCED TO MAKE THESE REPAIRS. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, WE FOUND THAT MANY PACIFICAS HAD MANY OF THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT WE WERE EXPERIENCING AND THAT CHRYSLER REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUES.WE HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER SEATS, BLUETOOTH , SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTENS THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY...
FRAME AT MOTOR MOUNTS HAS SIGNIFICANT RUST. REST OF CAR IS VERY GOOD SHAPE WITH NO RUST. THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS MORE DAMAGE THAN PASSENGER BUT BOTH SIDE HAVE A GOOD REAL OF RUST IN THE ENGINE CRADLE AREA
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING WITH UNDER 87,000 MILES. WHEN I WENT TO HAVE THE STATE INSPECTION PERFORMED I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF RUST ON THE ENGINE CRADLE. SATURDAY I CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER ON MY 2006 PACIFICA. I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK WHEN I SAW THAT THE CRADLE PART OF THE FRAME, THE CRADLE THAT HOLDS THE POWER TRAIN, WAS RUSTED. THIS WAS NOT SURFACE RUST BUT SERIOUS "METAL MISSING" RUST. THE CAR IS ONLY 9 YEARS OLD, HAS JUST OVER 72000 MILES, HAS BEEN IN A GARAGE EVERY NIGHT AND HAS HAD ALL PERIODIC OIL, FILTERS, COOLANT, ETC. DONE ON A PRESCRIBED BASIS. I HAVE KEPT THIS VEHICLE IN "MINT" CONDITION SINCE ONE OF MY KIDS WANTS THE CAR. I CALLED WALSER CHRYSLER, A LOCAL DEALERSHIP I HAVE BOUGHT ALL MY MINI VANS, 300S AND MY PACIFICA FROM. THEY GAVE ME AN 800 NUMBER. I CALLED THE 800 NUMBER WHICH WAS A CHRYSLER OFFICE NUMBER. THEY PRETENDED THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NO RECALL OR WARRANTY OFFERED BY CHRYSLER....
