The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle turned off independently but was able to be restarted. Additionally, the vehicle was difficult to start. The vehicle was taken to an independent shop, where the PCM was reprogrammed and an unknown fuel injector repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle shut off independently but was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 06V432000 (Power Train), the dealer informed the contact that the equipment and parts to do the recall repair were not available after the vehicle had remained at the dealer for two days. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE GAUGES ON THE VEHICLE MOVED UP AND DOWN INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ALSO OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY BY DISPLAYING INACCURATE READINGS. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK A GOOD SAMARITAN PULLED ME OVER AND ADVISED ME THE GAS WAS POURING OUT OF MY CAR, CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY PLUGGED LEAK AND I HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. I FILLED UP THE TANK WITH GAS AND WAS ON A LONG ROAD TRIP. I HAD RESET THE TRIP AT THE TIME OF FILL UP AND I HAD TRACKED THE HIGHWAY MILEAGE USING A LITTLE LESS THAN 1/2 TANK THEN REFILLED IT THEN TOOK HOW MANY MILES I HAD GONE DIVIDED IT BY HOW MANY GALLONS OF GAS IT TOOK TO FILL IT BACK UP. I HAD THE BRAKES REPAIRED IN 2012; THE NEXT MONTH THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. TEN MONTHS LATER, THE SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN MOTOR BEARING WENT BAD AND YOU CANT REPLACE JUST THE MOTOR, YOU HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH MOTORS, BOTH FANS AND THE SHROUD ( RIDICULOUS ). MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND SAYS FUEL CAP ON DASH BUT I REPLACED THE CAP AND NOW AS I'M LOOKING ON THIS SITE I KNOW ITS PROBABLY THE GAS TANK LINES CRACKED.
