GAS CAP LIGHT ALWAYS REMAIN ON. MY RPM GAUGE IS JUMPING AN ALL OF MY INDICATOR LIGHTS ARE ON. THESE THINGS HAPPEN UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A ROUGH IDLE AND I HAVE TO PUSH A PINK BUTTON TO SHIFT HERS. THE GEARS WILL NOT SHIFT. I SEE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR VEHICLES OF MY BRAND BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. WHEN I HAD MY VEHICLE CHECKED, I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUES THAT I AM HAVING
TAKATA RECALL IN THE CARS MILAGE INDICATOR I RECEIVED A MESSAGE READING GAS CAP ALONG WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN I NOTICED MY FUEL RANGE AND GAUGE WOULD READ 200 MILES TO EMPTY AT 1/2 A TANK OF FUEL TO 23 MILES TO EMPTY WITH THE GAUGE BEING IN THE RED, WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO TOWN... WE JUST HAD BOTH FUEL PUMPS REPLACED BECAUSE THE UPPER FUEL PUMP WOULDN'T PUMP THE FUEL OVER TO THE LOWER FUEL TANK THIS CAR ONLY HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT AND WE'VE ALREADY DROPPED $900.00 TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED ONLY TO HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM OCCUR... WHEN I DECIDED TO RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR...CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS....
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL READ FULL AND WHEN THE FUEL GAUGE GETS TO HALF A TANK THE GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY. ALSO WHILE FILLING THE TANK THE NOZZLE FROM THE GAS PUMPS WILL ALWAYS CUT OFF, IT WILL PUMP A FEW DOLLARS AND THEN STOP AND YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE FUEL IN VERY SLOW. I HAVE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK THREE TIMES AND THE GAS TANK TWICE. NOTHING WORKS THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM NOW FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED ON THE ROAD DUE TO THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPING TO EMPTY AND IT IS VERY SCARY.
SECONDARY PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED: THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE VEHICLE HAS UNDER 55,000 MILES AND FAILED EMISSIONS TEST WITH THE FOLLOWING CODES: P0457, P0455, P0456. AN EVAP SYSTEM SMOKE TEST WAS PERFORMED AND FOUND A LEAKING SECONDARY UNIT. NEEDS SECONDARY PUMP REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK GAUGE WOULD NOT INDICATE THE FUEL LEVEL PROPERLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL EVEN THOUGH THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL. THE VAPE LEAK AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE VALVE, SOLENOID AND A NEW FUEL CAP HOWEVER THE FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 195,000.
CAR ENGINE SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF WHEN DOING LEFT HAND TURNS, THE ENGINE LOOSES COMPLETE POWER WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK TO TURN IT BACK ON. THERE ARE EVAP CODES ON BUT THE CHECK ENGINE DOES NOT TURN ON FOR THESE CODES, SMELL OF UN-BURNT FUEL SOMETIMES MAKES IT IN THE CABIN. THANKFULLY THE STALL HAS NOT HAPPENED WITH CARS COMING TOWARDS ME. THE GAS CAP WARNING ON CONTINUOUSLY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PURCHASED MANY NEW OEM GAS CAPS. THIS MAY BE RELATED TO: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V113000, 06V432000, NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA06013, I INFORMED CHRYSLER BUT THEY SAID MY VIN IS NOT IN THE CURRENT RECALLS AND WAS REFERRED TO CONTACT NHTSA. MY PACIFICA HAS ALSO DEVELOPED A TICKING NOISE THAT HAS REDUCED THE GAS MILEAGE AND ENGINE POWER WHICH I BELIEVE THIS TO BE PART OF AN INTERNAL RECALL WHICH AGAIN CHRYSLER SAYS...
I CAN'T COMPLETELY FILL MY FUEL TANK. AT 1/2 TANK IT BOTTOMS OUT TO EMPTY. THE FUEL GAUGE IS COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE.WHEN MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN THE FUEL IS LOW IT WILL STALL AND SPUTTER. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH THAT THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP RIGHT AFTER I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I RAN OUT OF FUEL ON A TRIP TO OHIO FROM ILLINOIS BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE. I ONLY DRIVE IT IN TOWN BECAUSE I'M AFRAID OF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. APPARENTLY THIS IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, SOMEONE TO BE STRANDED IN EXTREME COLD/HEAT. IT'S UNRELIABLE AND A MAJOR THREAT TO SOMEONE'S SAFETY. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

THE ODOR WAS MAKING THE CONTACT ILL AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONCENTRATE WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IF THE FUEL TANK WENT DOWN TO A HALF A TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE AUTOMATICALLY DISPLAYED EMPTY. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED OFTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 181,000.

CAR IS STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND FUEL PUMP AND SYSTEM HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE! HEAD LIGHTS AND TURNING SIGNALS ARE HAVE TO BE REPLACED OFTEN AS WELL!
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY, GAS GAUGE SUDDENLY DROPS TO EMPTY, VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY REGISTER INVALID KEY FOB. VEHICLE HAS SUDDENLY STOPPED ON CITY STREET 5 TIMES IN PASS 3 MOS. RESEARCHED YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, FOUND THERE IS A RECALL. CALLED DEALERSHIP, THEY STATE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. I FEEL CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. CAN'T AFFORD REPAIR TO PCM, NOR TCM. WOULD COST OVER 1,000 DOLLARS AT DEALERSHIP. CAR NOT REPAIRED AS OF 7-24-2017
MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA SEEMS TO HAVE SOME VERY COMMON AND RELATED ISSUES TO AN EXISTING RECALL. MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCES ALL KIND OF ISSUES RELATED TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP/TANK DESIGN AND POSSIBLY SOFTWARE ISSUES ALSO. MY VEHICLE CAN BE VERY HARD TO START. MY VEHICLE CAN SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. (NO OTHER KNOWN ISSUES) MY VEHICLE TENDS TO THINK THE GAS CAP IS BAD. DISPLAYING GASCAP IN THE ODOMETER AREA. WE EXPERIENCE POWER LOSS, STALLS, POOR FUEL ECONOMY, FUEL CAPOR SMELL ON OCCASION THAT COULD IGNITE, IF FOR ANY REASON THE FUEL SYSTEM IS SLIGHTLY OVERFILLED BY EVEN TEN CENTS WORTH OF FUEL IT CAN POOR FUEL ONTO THE GROUND. THIS HAPPENS ON TOP OF THE TANK. NOT AT THE FILLER HOSE. CHECK ENGIN LIGHT CODE POINTS TO EVAPORATIVE SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUGUST 2005. I BELIEVE THE FUEL PUMP MODULE IS BAD AS WELL AS POSSIBLY...
SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE (2013) THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH GETTING THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN. FIRST WHILE IN MOTION THE VEHICLE WOULD TREMOR (IN THE FRONT) BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN, PARTICULARLY IF GOING ABOVE 25-30 MPH. WHEN THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF BY KEY IGNITION AND TURNED BACK ON IT WOULD START AGAIN. CODES FOR OXYGEN SENSOR WOULD COME UP, HAD THAT FIXED. PROBLEM BEGAN AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER. MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY/OPEN ROAD THE SENSORS ON THE PANEL ALL LITE UP AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN. I HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE; THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. PRIOR TO THE SECOND ALTERNATOR REBUILD/REPLACEMENT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD FLUCTUATE AFTER REACHING HALF A TANK. MOST OF THE TIME IT WOULD READ EMPTY WHEN THE TANK WAS HALF FULL; OR EMPTY WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. I NOTICED THE GAUGE WOULD DROP IF...

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT FAILED TO FUNCTION, THE SERVICE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND THERE WAS AN INTERNAL LEAK EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE THE RECOMMENDED REPAIR SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

RECCALL F44 (FUEL PUMP MODULE). THIS RECALL WAS FOR REPAIR/REPLACE OF MODULE DUE TO FACT THAT PACIFICA CARS STALL WITH FAULTY UNIT. MY CAR HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. I TOOK TO DEALER AS INSTRUCTED BY RECALL LETTER. THE DEALER SAID THEY MADE REPAIR. MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL. DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE PART AGAIN. I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 25 MPH. IT KEPT FEELING AS IF IT WAS STALLING WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE. HARD TO GO UP INCLINES. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 4 HOURS WE NOTICED THE CAR WAS SMOKING. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO DISCOVERED THAT THE INSULATION AND THE ENGINE WAS SMOLDERING. IT IS NOW AT EXCALIBUR BEING LOOKED AT. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN WE DISCOVERED THE CAR WAS SMOKING, IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR FOUR HOURS.
ENTERED THE FREEWAY AND AFTER REACHING SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH I HEARD A LOUD SOUND THAT SOUNDED LIKE A SMALL EXPLOSION. SOMEONE DRIVING IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME BEGAN FRANTICALLY POINTING AT THE ENGINE OF MY CAR. IMMEDIATELY I SAW SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR'S HOOD. I PULLED OFF THE EXIT THAT I WAS APPROACHING, PARKED THE CAR AT THE CURB, JUMPED OUT THE CAR, DIALED 911. FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND BY THIS TIME ENTIRE ENGINE AND HOOD WAS ON FIRE.THEY PUT THE FIRE OUT. CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL OR ANY OTHER GEAR, BUT WAS STILL TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT PERFORMED REPAIRS TO FUEL INJECTORS AND OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE ENGINE ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016. DURING FEB. 2016 INCIDENT THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT GIVE POWER TO MAKE THE CAR ACCELERATE, CAR STARTED SMOKING...

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY AFTER INDICATING THREE QUARTERS OF A TANK OF FUEL ONE MINUTE EARLIER. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ADD FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, BUT THE TANK WAS FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINES AND FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AND A HALF. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
ONE SIDE OF MY ENGINE MOUNT IS RUSTING OUT BADLY AS WELL. WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A RECALL TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE IDLING ISSUES IN WHICH IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO DIE WHETHER IT'S IN PARK OR DRIVE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE WHILE NOW.

MINE WAS MANUFACTURED MAY 2005, SHOULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVEN THOUGH MINE WAS MANUFACTURED ONE YEAR LATER AND STILL CAN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM? JUST A NOTE, I HAVE YOUNG KIDS IN MY CAR. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE, IN RESEARCHING I NOTICES THAT THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUSTING ENGINE MOUNTS OR BREAKING OF ENGINE MOUNTS. MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA KEEPS SENDING A MESSAGE SAYING GAS PUMP, AND THEN MY FUEL GAUGE KEEPS DROPPING TO E EVEN AFTER I JUST FILLED IT UP. I HAVE REPLACED THE GAS CAP AND I AM STILL GETTING THE MESSAGE SAYING SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE GAS CAP, AND THE GAUGE KEEPS DROPPING. I CAN NOT TELL HOW MUCH GAS I EVER HAVE AND HAVE TO CONSTANTLY STOP AFTER A FEW DAYS TO FILL IT BACK UP. I TOOK IT TO ORIELLYS TO LET THEM RUN THE CODE ON THE VEHICLE AND IT SAID THAT IT WAS THE GAS CAP, SO I REPLACED THE GAS CAP AND THEY RESET THE SENSOR AND ITS STILL SAYING THE SAME THING.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ONLY ABLE TO REFUEL UP TO HALF A TANK AND THE FUEL GAUGE CONTINUED TO DISPLAY THAT THERE WAS A FULL TANK OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL TANK AND FUEL WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 198,000.

ABOUT 3 WEEKS I LET MY COUSIN USE CAR. SHE MADE IT TO INDY TWICE FROM FORT WAYNE, AND ONCE BACK HOME BEFORE I CAME TO GET CAR SHE STATED SHE HAD SET ALARM OFF AND THEN CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAD IT TOWED AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM COMPLETELY BUT THOUGHT FUEL PUMP. CAR TURNS OVER PERFECT JUST WON'T FIRE. SO FUEL PUMP REPLACE AND ABOUT WEEK AND A HALF LATER IT'S STARTS TO NOT START UP ON FIRST IGNITE. SOMETIMES IT TAKES ME TWO-THREE TRIES THEN IT STARTS. ALSO SOMETHING WEIRD 2 TIMES WHILE PUMPING GAS AND LEAVING CAR ON, THE CAR SHUTS OFF AS SOON AS GAS STARTS FILLING. SO ONCE AGAIN THIS CAR IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA (86616) AND ONE DAY WHEN DRIVING MY CAR JUST STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT START FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP HERE IN BAYTOWN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PLASTIC EVAP LINE MAY HAVE BROKEN DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW OF THE LINE BEING NOT ONLY TOO SHORT BUT ALSO MADE OF A HARDEN PLASTIC THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE RUBBER INSTEAD. I WAS LUCK ENOUGH TO BE BY MYSELF BUT IF I HAD MY GOD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORST OR I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

ROCKER ARM FAILURE, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT ON BOTH SIDES. SEARCHED INTERNET AND IS A KNOWN FAILURE WITH MANY PACIFICA CONSUMERS. RESPONSIBLE CAR MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE RECALLED. SAFETY HAZARD PRIMARY FUEL PUMP CRACK ON EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP NOZZLE. EXTERNAL HOSE CONNECTING PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL PUMPS ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WAS ~3-5 CM TOO SHORT. HOSE WAS STRETCHED TO CONNECT FUEL PUMPS, EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE CONNECTOR NOZZLE TO CRACK (BREAK) AND LEAK FUEL. HOSE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN MODIFIED, BUT OWNERS OF ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WOULD NEVER BE AWARE OF THIS UNTIL/UNLESS SPECIFIC SERVICE IS PERFORMED. RESULT = COSTLY REPAIR TO REPLACE BOTH FUEL PUMP AND HOSE.

I WAS AT STOPPED AT SIGNAL LIGHT IN TRAFFIC AT RUSH HOUR. WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN TO GO, I STEPPED ON GAS PEDAL AND VEHICLE STARTED TO SNORKEL AND STALL. IT STARTED JERKING AND CONTINUED TO STALL THEN IT TOOK OFF FOR A BIT AND STARTED TO STALL AGAIN, THEN CONTINUED TO GO. CARS WERE HONKING AND I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AND HIT ON THE SIDE!. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME, DETERMINED IT WAS A COMPUTER CODE SAID IT WAS A MINOR VACUUM LEAK, SMOKE CHECK DETERMINED THAT LEAK IS COMING FROM TOP OF GAS TANK. MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS COMMON ON THE PACIFICA THAT HOSE ATTACHED TO TOP OF FUEL PUMP CAUSES INTAKE LINE TO BREAK AND ONLY FIX IX TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP EVEN THOUGH FUEL PUMP ITSELF IS FINE AN APPROX REPAIR COST OF $800, PARTS AND LABOR. MY ONLINE RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH PACIFICA'S. NOW MY GAS CAP LIGHT IS ON AND A SECOND VACUUM LEAK IS SHOWING. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO REPAIR.
