RIVERHEAD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (624 W MAIN STREET, RIVERHEAD, NY) REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM THEM, AND ALSO THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,500.

THE FIRST OR SECOND WEEK IN DECEMBER A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS PULLING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A FUEL PUMP SENSOR WHICH THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED. NOW AFTER A MONTH AND A HALF LATER, ANOTHER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON WHILE PARKING AT A RESTAURANT. 3 CODES HAVE SHOWN UP FOR THIS CEL. THEY ARE P26AB, P26A7, AND P2681. THESE CODES HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE COOLANT BYPASS VALVE CONTROL. AFTER ONLY AN HOUR OF SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY THE FOLLOWING DAY THERE WAS A HUGE RAINBOW COLORED LEAK ON THE ASPHALT AND FLUID SETTLING AND DRIPPING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF THIS TRUCK SINCE I PURCHASED...

VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING IT. NEEDS NEW TIPM ACCORDING TO SERVICE CENTER. THEY WON'T REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY SAY WE MODIFIED IT BY WRAPPING A PIECE OF HEAVY DUTY WIRE AROUND THE BOLT FOR POWER IN THE TIPM. SERVICE PEOPLE STATED TWICE THAT IF WE REMOVED THE WIRE, IT WOULD PUT THE TRUCK BACK TO FACTORY CONDITION AND IT WOULD BE FIXED UNDER THE WARRANTY. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE SERVICE CENTER TWICE AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO FIX THE TRUCK UNDER WARRANTY. THE WIRE IS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO KEEP THE TRUCK RUNNING AND HAS COME LOOSE ON OCCASION WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT WE DON'T FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR.

APRIL 14, 2017 MY HUSBAND WAS HEADING EAST ON I-20 IN THE TYLER, TEXAS AREA LOCATED IN SMITH COUNTY TEXAS.APPROACHING HIS TURN OFF AT HWY 14. WHEN EXITING ON THE RAMP HE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. HE LOOKED AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND HE BEGAN LOSING POWER. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL TO A LARGE PARKING AREA AWAY FROM OTHERS. HE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND APPROACHED THE HOOD WHEN HE NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE. HE BACKED AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME AND CALLED 911. OUR VEHICLE IS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. THIS CAUSES A HUGE DISTRACTION SINCE THE INTERIOR IS FULLY ILLUMINATED ON DARK ROADS. ON 10/5/2016, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND JUMPER CABLES WERE REQUIRED TO START THE ENGINE. VEHICLE OPERATOR IS CURRENTLY DELIVERING THE VEHICLE TO THE MID COUNTY DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THE OPERATOR REPORTS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS ERRATIC - THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING, THE TACHOMETER IS NOT WORKING, THE ODOMETER IS NOT WORKING, INDICATOR PANEL LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING, AND SEAT BELT ALERT SYSTEM IS TURNING ON WITHOUT CAUSE. MECHANICS REPORT WILL BE PROVIDED AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE. WHILE THIS IS THE FIRST MALFUNCTION ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT OUR FLEET CONSISTS SOLELY OF RAM 1500S, WITH SEVEN BEING 2016 MODELS AND ONE 2015.
