TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. HE THEN NOTICED THAT THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED WITHIN THE DOOR AND WAS BURNING THROUGH THE DOOR PANEL. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER AND THE OCCUPANTS EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND CONTAINED THE FIRE TO JUST THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND INHALED A LOT OF SMOKE. A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 18, 2019. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. JOHN GREENE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (910 JAMESTOWN RD, MORGANTON, NC 28655, (828) 584-5337) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND INFORMED THE CONTACT NOT TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THEIR FACILITY. THE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG BURNING ODOR AND NOTICED SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. WITHIN SEVERAL MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,532.
