I HAD A ROLL AWAY INCIDENT BACK AROUND AUGUST 25TH 2015 I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND PUT THE CAR (2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND) IN PARK .I TURNED IT OFF AND EXITED THE CAR. IT STARTED ROLLING FORWARD SO I JUMPED BACK IN THE CAR AND PUT ON THE BRAKE THEN MOVED IT BACKWARDS A LITTLE AND EXITED THE CAR AGAIN. AGAIN THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND SHUT OFF.AS I WAS WALKING AWAY FROM THE CAR IT ROLLED FORWARD AGAIN ABOUT 8 FEET .I KNOW IT WAS IN PARK, WHEN IT WAS NOT IN GEAR. I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED TO ROLL BACK ON ME. I QUICKLY JUMPED BACK INTO THE VEHICLE TO STOP IT WITHOUT ACCIDENT, THIS TIME. NOW I PUT A BLOCK IN FRONT OF THE TIRE SO IT WONT ROLL AWAY.I WONT PARK IT ON A HILL.DEALER CANT SEEM TO FIND...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V461000 (EQUIPMENT). THE NOTIFICATION PROVIDED INSTRUCTIONS TO CONTACT U-CONNECT IN ORDER TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. AFTER THE UPDATE WAS INSTALLED, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE RADIO, NAVIGATION, VENTILATION SYSTEM, AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS FAILED IMMEDIATELY. THE U-CONNECT TECHNICIAN REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER WHO LATER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE RADIO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT READILY AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,007.
AS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHERS, MY JEEP CHEROKEE HAS BRAKE FOR NO APPARENT CAUSE ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE "COLLISION IMMINENT" TONE HAS SOUNDED AT THE SAME TIME. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR LOSS OF CONTROL AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED, BUT IT WAS DISCONCERTING. ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS, THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED, BUT THESE WERE TRIGGERED BY A CAR LEAVING THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT SIDE, TO TURN AT AN ANGLE INTO A STREET THAT BRANCHED OFF THE ROUTE I WAS ON. ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS CLEARLY OUT OF THE PATH OF THE CAR, APPARENTLY THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM THOUGHT THAT MY CAR WAS CLOSING ON THE OTHER CAR TOO QUICKLY, AND AGAIN SOUNDED THE WARNING AND SLOWED THE CAR DOWN. AGAIN, THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH CONTROL OF THE CAR, AND NO ACCIDENT, ALTHOUGH DRIVERS BEHIND ME HAD TO SLOW DOWN BY ABOUT 15 MILES PER...
THE ODOMETER SCREEN POPPED UP SEVERAL MESSAGES: ACC/FCW UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED; THEN A RED BATTERY IMAGE AND LOW VOLTAGE MESSAGE; AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS LOCKED IN D3. AFTER TURNING IT OFF FOR 30 MINUTES IT SELF CORRECTED BUT A SMALL RED BATTERY ICON REMAINED LIT ON THE ODOMETER SCREEN. *TR
PICKED VEHICLE UP FROM DEALER - THEY MADE SURE BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED AND SUGGESTED IT BE DRIVEN BEFORE TAKING HOME. ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65-75 MPH ACTIVATED THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. IT SHUT ITSELF OFF IN APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. THEN A MESSAGE ON THE ODOMETER: ACC / FCW UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED; MESSAGE LOW VOLTAGE; RADIO SCREEN WENT BLANK THEN CAME BACK ON. A SMALL RED BATTERY ICON REMAINED LIT ON THE ODOMETER SCREEN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE ODOMETER MESSAGES STARTED POPPING UP AND AN ALERT CHIMED FOR EACH ONE: ACC / FCW UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED; BIG RED BATTERY ICON AND LOW VOLTAGE MESSAGE; PARK ASSIST OFF MESSAGE; RADIO SCREEN WENT BLANK; SMALL RED BATTERY ICON REMAINED LIT ON THE ODOMETER SCREEN. I THEN SELECTED TO VIEW THE BATTERY VOLTAGE ALONG WITH MY SPEED ON THE ODOMETER SCREEN. THE VOLTAGE MOVED FROM 16 TO 15 AND STOPPED AT 14V (1/2 CHARGE) ALL IN LESS THAN 5 SECONDS. I TRIED TO MAKE A HANDS-FREE PHONE CALL AND AS THE PHONE WAS RINGING THE PHONE CALL WAS TERMINATED BY THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW, WITH 4,658 MILES ON IT AND WITHIN THE FIRST DAY, WE NOTICED THE EXTREMELY ROUGH SHIFTING BETWEEN 2ND 4TH GEARS. AFTER SEVERAL PCM REPROGRAMS AND A NEW TRANSMISSION, IT IS STILL DOING THE ROUGH SHIFTING AND CONTINUES TO WORSEN. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THE ACCELERATOR IS INCONSISTENT, SLUGGISHLY MOVING FORWARD ON ONE OCCASION AND LUNGING FORWARD AS IF THE GAS PEDAL WAS MASHED TO THE FLOOR ON THE NEXT. SAME CAN BE SAID FOR BRAKING; ROUGH DOWN SHIFTING AND OFTEN TIMES FEELING AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS STILL TRYING TO ACCELERATE AS IF THE GAS PEDAL IS STILL PRESSED EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE IS BEING APPLIED. IN ANOTHER INCIDENT, I STARTED THE VEHICLE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE SHIFTED IT TO DRIVE, THEN BEGAN TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE FROM THE BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD, WHEN IT SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD NEARLY STRIKING MY PARENTS. VEHICLE'S "ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL W/ STOP-AND-GO" WAS ACTIVATED AND SET TO 40 MPH. ON APPROACH TO AN INTERSECTION WITH STOPPED TRAFFIC AHEAD, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE AND A REAR-END COLLISION NEARLY OCCURRED. THE SYSTEM HAD A CLEAR FIELD OF VIEW AND APPROACHED STOPPED TRAFFIC FROM APPROXIMATELY 300 YARDS. THE VEHICLE'S COLLISION ALARM AND BRAKE BOOSTER ACTIVATED AS I WAITED FOR THE SYSTEM TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. USING FULL BRAKING FORCE, THE VEHICLE CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
A SHORT TIME AFTER PURCHASING THE NEW 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE, WE STARTED HAVING TROUBLE BREAKING AT ANY SPEED. AS YOU STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, THE RPMS WENT WAY UP AND IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE INSTEAD OF STOPPING. IT ALWAYS FELT LIKE YOU HAD TO FIGHT IT TO STOP AND IT MIGHT NOT STOP AT ALL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD IT HAD SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE TRANSMISSION WHICH DID NOT SOLVE ANYTHING. AT THE POINT THAT WE WERE CALLING TO TAKE BACK IN, RECEIVED THE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" WARNING AND WAS TOLD BY SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO DRIVE IT IN AND IT WOULD "GO INTO A SAFE MODE". DROVE SLOWLY WHILE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND AFTER SLOWING DOWN FOR CONSTRUCTION, IT WOULD NOT SPEED UP PAST ABOUT 27 MPH. IT HAD TO BE TO TOWED IN. AFTER A NEW TRANSMISSION, AFTER...
