CAR ENGINE TURNED OFF IN DRIVE THRU AND TOOK 1 MINUTE TO RESTART CAR. KEPT PRESSING START BUTTON AND CAR FINALLY STARTED. THIS IS 2ND OR 3RD TIME HAPPENING.
AUTO SHUT OFF WHEN STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT WILL NOT RESTART ENGINE. HAD ORANGE RED LIGHT ON DASH SAYING YOU MUST PUT IN PARK AND PRESS BREAK TO AND PRESS START AGAIN. ALSO RADIO WENT OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS ALSO. IT ALSO HAS BEEN HESITANT TO ACCELERATE AFTER AUTO SHUT OFF STARTS ENGINE SEVERAL TIMES JUST IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS
I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. I PURCHASED IT CERTIFIED USED FROM GOUDY HONDA 626.576.1114 ON 11/13/2019. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AT TIME OF VEHICLE'S PURCHASE. I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR LESS THAN 2000 MILES SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE STALLING ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES EACH BEING PROGRESSIVELY MORE ACUTE THAN THE PREVIOUS. I FIRST REPORTED THIS TO LONG BEACH HONDA AT MY SERVICE APT ON 10/15/2020. AT THAT TIME THE ISSUE WAS A HESITATION WHEN THE AUTO IDLE WOULD ENGAGE AT A RED LIGHT, IT WOULD START AFTER A SECOND OR TWO OF DELAY. TO COPE, WE HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE HABIT OF USING THE AUTO-OFF BUTTON BELOW THE GEAR SELECTOR. HOWEVER, THE LAST TWO TIME I HAVE FILLED UP FUEL AND GOT IN TO DRIVE OFF I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO 'PUSH THE BUTTON.' TODAY I FORGOT TO PUSH THE BUTTON AND ALMOST GOT HIT...
VEHICLE DOES NOT RE-START AND APPEARS TO HAVE AN ELECTRICAL OUTAGE (ALL LIGHTS COME ON AND THE RADIO SHUTS OFF) AFTER "IDLE OFF" FEATURE IS ACTIVATED (MEANING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE) AT RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TAKES 2-3 TRIES TO RE-START BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON. SO VERY DANGEROUS WHEN I'M AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, AND ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS IN THE CAR AND I CAN NOT MOVE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS ALMOST ALL OF THE TIME. I HAD TO TURN OFF THIS FEATURE FOR SAFETY REASONS OR RISK BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. TWO YEARS AGO I HAD A HONDA DEALERSHIP LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND AN ISSUE. I CHOSE THE MOST RECENT DATE OF OCCURRENCE (YESTERDAY) FOR THIS FORM BUT IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 4 YEARS. I CURRENTLY HAVE 45,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE.

SPEEDOMETER FLICKERS AND IS NOT WORKING MOST OF THE TIME. AND GOES BLACK MOST OF THE TIME IN MOTION STANDING STILL EVERYWHERE
2016 HONDA PILOT ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY/SPORADICALLY WHILE PARKED/LOCKED.
A NOTICE HAS STARTED POPPING UP ON MY HONDA PILOT SAYING KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM. BUT MY CAR STILL STARTS. THE ERROR MESSAGE WENT AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS THEN CAME BACK.
CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER GOING INTO AUTO IDLE STOP.CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF.HAD TO PUT IN PARK AND IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE CAR WOULD START.
WHEN I STOP WITH THE IDLE STOP IN ON THE HONDA PILOT , WHEN RELEASE THE BRAKES THE PILOT DISCHARGE BATTERY AND NEVER TURN ON. THE BATTERY WAS DISCHARGED WHEN IS INSPECTED. NEVER WAKE UP. I NEED TO CHARGE BATTERY AND THEN THE BATTERY IS FUNCTION WITH NO PROBLEM WITH THE IDLE STOP DISABLE. THIS PAST ONLY WITH THE IDLE STOP IS IN ON ONLY. FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE TIMES PASS ME IN TRAFFIC AREA AND IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE NOT TURN ON BRAKES LIGHTS AND SIGNALS LIGHTS. IS A VERY PROBLEM AND ATTEMPT TO SECURITY. HOPEFULLY HELPS. THANKS ALWAYS PAST WHEN RELEASE THE BRAKES PADS AFTER IDLE STOP. NEVER TURN ON AGAIN.
MY 2016 HONDA PILOT CATCH FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING 3/21/21 I BOUGHT THIS CAR 11/19 FROM HUNTINGTON HONDA
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM. THIS ERROR APPEARS ON DISPLAY PANEL MULTIPLE TIMES. I DID CHANGE NEW CAR BATTERY AND KEY FOB BATTERIES, BUT THIS ERROR STILL ON DISPLAY. I FINALLY BROUGHT IT IN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. WARRANTY FOR THIS GOT EXTENDED FOR 9 YEARS AS PER HONDA.
IN DECEMBER 8 2020 STARTED ALARM STARTED GOING OFF RANDOMLY TOOK IT IN TO RUSTY WALLACE HONDA DALLAS TX ,THEY KEPT 3 DAYS SAID COULDN'T FIND CAUSE BUT IT DID GO OFF 2 TIMES. THEY SAID DID RESET AND SENT IT HOME.ON MARCH24 THIS YEAR GOT ERROR FOR KEYLESS ENTRY ,HONDA SAID ON RECALL CHANGED START BUTTON,ON MARCI 29 CAR ALARM STARTED GOING OFF AGAIN ,SO BROUGHT IT BACK TO HONDA NOW THEY SAY IT'S KEYLESS ACCESS/TIM'S CONTROL UNIT AND PROGRAM UNIT AND KEYS & MEMORIZE TIM'S SENSORS 832.DOLLARS.NEED TO MENTION CAR ONLY HAS 45K.THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED EACH TIME
HONDA 2016 TOURING SHUT OFF WHEN STOPPING AT TRAFFIC LIGHT OR INTERSECTION, IT DOES NOT AUTO RESTART FROM IDLING-STOP MODE. IT TOOK COUPLE OF TRIES TO PRESS THE BREAK AND PUSH THE START BUTTON FOR THE CAR TO START. I ALSO NOTICED THE RADIO TURNED OFF AND THE CAR PUT ITSELF TO PARK. IT STARTED COUPLE MONTHS BACK, AND GETTING MORE FREQUENT.
THE PUSH START BUTTON DOES NOT WORK, IT IS GIVING ME AN ERROR 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM'. I CHANGED THE KEY FOB'S BATTERY TO A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND IT IS NOT THE KEY FOB WITH ISSUES, IT IS THE BUTTON ITSELF. I HAVE TO KEEP PRESSING THE BREAK AND THE START BUTTON TO GET THE CAR TO START WORKING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 3 MONTHS AND IT KEEPS GETTING WORSE, I HAVE TO PRESS THE START BUTTON LIKE A TOY.
IT HAPPENED TO MYSELF W/ MY CHILD IN MY CAR & THEN MY SPOUSE DRIVING MY CAR ALONE. HOWEVER THE SAME PROBLEM IS KNOWN TO HONDA BUT UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED, THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE, THE CAMSHAFT SHUTTING OFF ALL CONTROLS WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS. AS AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLUSION ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY SURROUNDED BY TRACTOR TRAILERS GOING 65MPH. ALTHOUGH THE HONDA DEALER HAS REPLACED THE CAMSHAFT TWICE ON MY 2016 HONDA PILOT WITH LESS THAN 46,000, I AM FEARFUL THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE ARE LEFT WITH A BALANCE TO PAY OFF, THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE AND JUST CUT OUT LOSSES. TWO MAIN PROBLEMS: 1) VEHICLE WON'T START AND DISPLAYS "KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR". HONDA ISSUED A RECALL RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP REPLACED ENGINE START/STOP SWITCH ASSEMBLY. PROBLEM AND ERROR MESSAGE RETURNED AGAIN 3 DAYS LATER. ON RETURN TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TRIED TO BLAME IT ON A WEAK (5 MONTH OLD) BATTERY. (I TESTED BATTERY AT 3 DIFFERENT AUTO PARTS STORES AFTER TRIP TO DEALERSHIP; BATTERY TESTS AS GOOD AS NEW). COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE ON INTERNET MESSAGE BOARDS, OWNERS' MESSAGE BOARDS AND HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN (20-117) HAS BEEN ISSUED. CHANGING THE START/STOP SWITCH DOESN'T APPEAR TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM IN ALL VEHICLES. 2) PROBLEM WITH ENGINE NOT AUTO RE-STARTING AFTER GOING INTO AN AUTO IDLE STOP. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MY VEHICLE, INCLUDING TWICE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO NAVIGATE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION DURING START AND STOP TRAFFIC. HIGHLY UNSAFE SITUATION. I'M NOT AWARE OF...
TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK MY HONDA PILOT HAS SHUT OFF WHEN AUTO-IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR SHOULD REMAIN IN DRIVE BUT WHEN I LOOKED DOWN IT HAD SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THE FIRST MESSAGE ON THE DASH BRIEFLY FLASHED 'CRASH MITIGATION PROBLEM' AND THEN INSTRUCTED ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUSH THE ENGINE START BUTTON. AFTER THIS INCIDENT, I TURNED OFF THE CRASH MITIGATION SYSTEM. A COUPLE DAYS LATER (TODAY), THE SAME THING HAPPENED. NO CRASH MITIGATION SYSTEM FLASH BUT INSTRUCTIONS TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PRESS THEN ENGINE START BUTTON. BOTH TIMES THE ENGINE WAS ON AND IN DRIVE. AUTO IDLING WAS ENABLED. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS CAR FOR TWO MONTHS.
OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR SHUTTING OFF WHEN AT A STOP AFTER THE AUTO OFF FEATURE ENGAGES AND DOES NOT TURN BACK ON. I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND MANUALLY RESTART THE ENGINE TO CONTINUE. THIS WAS HAPPENING AT LEAST A COUPLE TIMES A MONTH. I BEGAN TO GET IN THE HABIT OF DISABLING THE AUTO OFF FEATURE EVERY TIME I STARTED THE CAR AND THIS SEEMED TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM I WAS HAVING. TWO DAYS AGO, HOWEVER, WHEN I WAS DRIVING, IT BEGAN TO SHUT OFF EVERY TIME I WAS IDLING AT A RED LIGHT (8 TIMES IN ONE DAY) EVEN WITH THE AUTO-OFF DISABLED. AND WHEN I GOT ON THE FREEWAY, DRIVING AT ABOUT 55MPH, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I HAD...
THE AUTO SHUT TURNS THE CAR OFF AT A STOP LIGHT AND THEN THE CAR WILL NOT RESTART. IT USUALLY NEEDS A JUMP. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THREE YEARS IN THE WINTER. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED FOUR TIMES. I HAVE TRACED TO THE ISSUE TO AN OVERLOAD OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT CAPABLE OF POURING ALL OF THE DEVICES IN THE CAR AND THUS THE BATTERY DRAINS. IF I RUN THE HEATED SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL, THE BATTERY WILL DISCHARGE WITHIN 30 MINUTES EVEN IF THE CAR IS DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE BEEN STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS SEVERAL TIMES. THE AUTOSTART FEATURE NEEDS TO HAVE THE OPTION TO STAY DIS-ENGAGED WHEN THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. IT IS UNSAFE TO HAVE THE CAR FAILS TO START AT STOPLIGHTS OR WHEN TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS DESIGNED...
AT 38000 MILES VEHICLE DISPLAYED AN ERROR CODE RELATING TO THE KEYLESS START. A WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. UNHOOKED THE BATTERY TO RESET THE SYSTEM AND THE ERROR CAME BACK. DEALER REPLACED THE START BUTTON BUT ISSUE RETURNED A FEW DAYS LATER.
WE HAVE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH OUR AUTO-IDLE FEATURE MALFUNCTIONING THAT BEGAN AT ABOUT 20,000 MILES. I HAVE WRITTEN A COMPLAINT HERE BEFORE, AS HAVE MANY OTHER 2016 PILOT OWNERS, HOWEVER NOTHING APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN DONE TO DATE. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY FEATURE WHEN THE AUTO-IDLE IS ENGAGED, FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF, OFTEN TIMES NOT STARTING BACK UP WITHOUT A JUMP START. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF, WARNING LIGHTS FLASH ALL OVER THE DASH AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU TRY THE CAR WILL NOT START BACK UP.THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY WIFE WITH OUR 2 DAUGHTERS NUMEROUS TIMES. FORTUNATELY, THERE HASN'T BEEN AN ACCIDENT, BUT MY GREATEST FEAR IS ONE TIME THERE WILL BE. NATURALLY THIS ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AT BUSY INTERSECTIONS. THE AUTO SHUT OFF FEATURE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AT A RED LIGHT - AND WOULD NOT TURN THE CAR BACK ON ONCE THE BRAKE WAS RELEASED. WE NEEDED TO JUMP THE PILOT TO GET IT TO TURN OVER AGAIN. AS THIS HAPPENED AT AN INTERSECTION ON A STATE HIGHWAY, WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO NOT BE REAR-ENDED! VERY UNSAFE AND THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BATTERY!!
PERSISTENT KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM AND AUTO LOCK FEATURE HAS STOPPED WORKING.
PROBLEM WITH THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURE- THE ENGINE STOPS BUT DOESN'T ALWAYS START . IT TRIES TO START BUT DOESN'T. PRESSING THE START BUTTON (IGNITION) DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK RIGHT AWAY. SEAMS YOU HAVE TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK, AND PRESS THE START BUTTON (SOMETIMES 4-5 TIMES) BEFORE THE ENGINE STARTS. THIS IS NERVE RACKING AND DANGEROUS WHEN YOU ARE IN TRAFFIC- SAY AT A LIGHT, OR TRYING TO CROSS OVER ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE TIME IS TAKES SOMETIMES TO RE-START THE ENGINE IS ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. (DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN). IT'S NOT THE BATTERY. I HAD A NEW BATTERY REPLACEMENT. I ALSO TRIED USING A TRICKLE CHARGER TO "TOP OFF" THE BATTERY INCASE IT WASN'T FULLY CHARGED. NO LUCK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (780 W MARTIN LUTHER KING JR BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90037, (213) 266-7366) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED AND THE BATTERY WAS DRAINING POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V668000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS...
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM ERROR. INTERMITTENT FOR MONTHS. NOT PRESENT WHEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE. SCHEDULED SERVICE AGAIN NEXT WEEK WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP IT WOULD COST $134 PER HOUR TO DIAGNOSE ISSUE. WALK AWAY AUTO LOCK NO LONGER FUNCTIONS TRUNK HATCH INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT POWER OPEN OR CLOSED. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL SO I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA FOR NOT ISSUING A RECALL.
CAR IS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. CAR WILL NOT START. REMOTE KEYLESS START ERROR. CALLED THE HONDA DEALER. THEY SAID TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. WAITING ON THE TOW TRUCK RIGHT NOW.
WHEN TURNED OFF, CAR MAKES CLICKING NOISES WHILE DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS AND CABIN LIGHTS FLICKER INTERMITTENTLY. OFTEN I GET A KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM ERROR MESSAGE. OTHER TIMES JUST LIGHTS AND CLICKING NOISES. ALSO, HORN SOUNDS INTERMITTENTLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY WHILE CAR IS LOCKED AND FOB IS UNTOUCHED. HORN BEGINS AND STOPS RANDOMLY. THIS OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, IN BOTH PARKING LOTS AND GARAGE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT WAS. IT HAS CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.
THERE ARE TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS, BUT THE DANGEROUS ONE IS THE AUTO-IDLE DOESN'T ALWAYS ALLOW THE CAR TO RESTART. WHEN I GO INTO IDLE AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT AND I START TO ACCELERAT, ALL OF THE LIGHTS INSIDE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR STALLS AFTER A FOOT OR TWO. SO FAR IT HAS ALWAYS MANAGED TO RESTART ITSELF, BUT I'VE STARTED TURNING IT OFF WHENEVER I GET INTO THE CAR BECAUSE THIS IS DANGEROUS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS AND IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE (IT PROBABLY STARTED A YEAR AGO). AT THE SAME TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, I GOT A "KEYLESS IGNITION PROBLEM" WARNING LIGHT. THE WALK AWAY LOCK FEATURE DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE. I'VE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS THAT SAY FIXING THE KEYLESS SWITCH DOESN'T HELP WITH THE AUTO IDLE AND THERE'S NO SPECIFIC ERROR CODE FOR ISSUES WITH THE AUTO IDLE SYSTEM.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR. CAR HAVE BEEN SHOWING THIS ERROR INTERMITTENTLY. REPLACED BATTERIES AND STILL SHOWS ERROR. WHEN I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START OR TURN OFF MY CAR, IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE IT AND IT TAKES A FEW PRESSES BEFORE IT'LL START/TURN OFF MY CAR.
THE AUTOMATIC START SYSTEM TURNS THE CAR OFF AND ON WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN FOR EXAMPLE. THE FEATURE SOMETIMES WITHOUT ANY WARNING FAILS TO RESTART THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY. THE DRIVER MUST PUT THE CAR IN PARK, PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKE, RESTART THE CAR AND THEN SHIFT INTO PARK TAKING A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR SO MANY REASONS AND IT MUST MANUALLY BE TURNED OFF BECAUSE IT DEFAULTS TO ON. WITH NO WARNING YOUR CAR COULD BE TURNED OFF AND NOT AUTOMATICALLY START WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES STOPPED AT RED LIGHT, STOP SIGNS AND IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I WOULD LIKE TO EITHER HAVE A WARNING IN PLACE OR BE ABLE TO PERMANENTLY DISABLE THIS DANGEROUS FEATURE.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) APPEARS, RANDOMLY WHEN PARKED OR IN MOTION, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH EMISSIONS SYSTEM. CEL BEGAN TO APPEAR AT APPROXIMATELY 77,000 MILES. CAR NOW HAS OVER 85,000 MILES. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED, WHEN IT HAD 68,000 MILES. I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.. CEL APPEARS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS BETWEEN 0 AND 60 MPH. WHEN IN MOTION AND CEL IS DISPLAYED, ENGINE HESITATION OCCURS CAUSING ME TO INCREASE VEHICLE SPEED AND ENGINE RPM TO ENSURE I HAVE SUFFICIENT POWER TO: COMPLETE A TURN, PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, OR MAKE IT UP A HILL. I AM NEVER SURE I WILL HAVE ENOUGH POWER. ADDITIONALLY, THE MILEAGE ECONOMY DISPLAY CHANGES FROM SHADES OF GREEN TO SOLID WHITE. CEL REMAINS VISIBLE ON DASHBOARD UNTIL IT RANDOMLY DISAPPEARS. CEL WILL REMAIN LIT RANGING FROM 30 MINUTES TO SEVERAL DAYS AND DISAPPEAR AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. WHEN IT DISAPPEARS, ENGINE HESITATION STOPS...
KEEP ENCOUNTERING KEYLESS REMOTE START PROBLEM. PROBLEM DOES NOT RESOLVE. TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO GET CAR STARTED.
ENGINE LIGHT DISPLAYS AND WARNING MESSAGE READS KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR. I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERIES ON BOTH KEY FOBS AND IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. NO OTHER ISSUES AT THIS TIME. WARNING LIGHTS HAS DISPLAYED FOR ABOUT THE LAST 1,000 MILES. THE ALERT DID DISAPPEAR FOR ABOUT 50 MILES AND RETURNED.
WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, DASHBOARD DISPLAYS MESSAGE "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM." THIS IS BEING REPORTED FREQUENTLY ON THE INTERNET AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. WHEN IT OCCURS, THE AUTOMATIC WALK AWAY DOOR LOCK FEATURE ALSO QUITS WORKING. SUPPOSED FIX IS TO REPLACE THE START/STOP SWITCH WHICH I DID. THIS RESOLVED THE DASHBOARD ERROR MESSAGE BUT NOT THE AUTOMATIC LOCK ISSUE. THIS SAME RESULT IS BEING REPORTED FREQUENTLY ON THE INTERNET AND THE PROBLEM IS BEING REPORTED FOR HONDA PILOTS BEGINNING WITH THE 2016 MODEL AND CONTINUING UP TO THE 2021 MODEL.
KEYLESS START SENSOR CONTINUES TO STAY ON DESPITE BATTERY REPLACEMENTS ON BOTH KEYS. THIS HAS CONTINUED TO BE AN ISSUE FOR THE PAST MONTH.
ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON BACK IN OCT 2020.. WE DID SOME DRIVING THE DAY BEFORE,. BUT NOTHING CRAZY... EVERY LIGHT WENT OFF .. SO TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS FUEL INJECTORS.. SO THEY REPLACED IT ALL .. AND SAID IT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM... THEN I DROVE IT TO SOUTHERN CA DURING THANKSGIVING AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN COMING DOWN FROM (GRAPEVINE) THE CAR STALLED, I PRESS THE GAS AND NOTHING .. I WAS ABLE TO COAST IT TO SIDE OF THE ROAD..ATTACHED IS A PIC OF WHAT WAS COMING UP.. THEN I PUT CAR IN PARK AND AND THE RPM STARTED TO GO UP 4-5 RPM WITHOUT ME PRESSING GAS, SO I WOULD TURN OFF CAR.. 10 MIN LATER I STARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT OFF THE FREEWAY.. BUT COULDNT DRIVE MORE THAN 50 MPH.. SO THE TRANSMISSION...

ERROR MESSAGE 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM' KEEPS APPEARING AFTER NO CHANGE IN DRIVING, WEATHER, OR OTHER FACTORS. IT COMES ON AT START UP OR WHEN PARKED. MULTIPLE TIMES. AFTER HOLDING THE BRAKE DOWN FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THE MESSAGE DISAPPEARS BUT HAS SINCE REAPPEARED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH SINCE FIRST OCCURRED. AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PILOTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM: THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE. THE HONDA DEALER KEEPS SAYING IT'S THE BATTERY, REPLACES THE BATTERY, FIXES THE ISSUE FOR A DAY. THE NEXT DAY, THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM COMES BACK ON THE DASH BOARD. MUST NOT BE A KEY FOB BATTERY ISSUE.
WHEN I TRY TO START THE VEHICLE BY PRESSING THE START/STOP BUTTON WHILE SITTING IN THE VEHICLE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE KEY FOB IN MY HAND, AND THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. ALSO, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, IF THE VEHICLE DOES START, I GET A MESSAGE 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM' AND IT OFTEN TIMES TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF.
VEHICLE START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF PAUSING THE START STOP BUTTON. AFTER STARTING VEHICLE DISPLAYS 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM'. DISCUSSED WITH SEVERAL OTHER 2016 HONDA PILOT OWNERS WHO SHARED SAME ISSUES. THIS OWNER BELIEVES THIS IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE WHICH SHOULD BE SOLVED BY A RECALL.

WE HAVE A 2016 HONDA PILOT TOURING. SINCE EARLY 2018 WE HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE IDLE STOP SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN WE ARE DRIVING AND WE COME TO STOP IN TRAFFIC AT A LIGHT, THE IDLE STOP SYSTEM ENGAGES AND SHUTS THE ENGINE DOWN, LIKE IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN FOR TRAFFIC TO MOVE, I RELEASE THE BRAKE AND THE IDLE STOP SYSTEM TRIES TO ENGAGE AND TURN THE ENGINE ON AGAIN, BUT FAILS AND SHUTS THE WHOLE VEHICLE DOWN, INOPERABLE. THE LIGHTS FLASH AND I CANNOT TURN THE CAR ON AGAIN FOR AT LEAST 1 TO 2 MINUTES. VEHICLES ARE HONKING AND TRAFFIC IS BLARING ACROSS US, BUT I CANNOT TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON. AFTER 2 MINUTES, I CAN RESTART THE VEHICLE BY PUSHING THE BUTTON AND BRAKE AND THEN THE VEHICLE MOVES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE YOU...
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM APPEARED WITH NO ASSOCIATED ISSUES SUCH AS STARTING THE VEHICLE. ERROR MESSAGE WAS INTERMITTENT FOR 2-3 MONTHS. ULTIMATELY IT BECAME A CONSTANT ERROR. MECHANIC PERFORMED DIAGNOSIS AND REPORTED THAT THIS ERROR SHOULD BE COUPLED WITH VEHICLE STARTING ISSUES. THE ALARM WAS RESET AND CAME BACK WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 58K MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN. HONDA PILOT FORUMS INDICATE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2016 PILOT. OWNERS HAVE EXHAUSTED THE ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS (ELECTRONIC SWITCH REPLACEMENT, IGNITION MODULE REPLACEMENT WITH DEALERSHIPS). HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM DOES NOT ALWAYS GO AWAY. MY ERROR APPEARED WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE (STATIONARY POSITION).
