Check engine light came on. Smelled fuel . Brought to dealer and found out top of fuel pump was cracked. There's a recall for the same issue on 23-25 vehicles. Want recall extended to receive a refund for repairs.
The fuel injectors failed on September 30th. Sitting in a parking lot when all of the warning lights on the dashboard started coming on. We immediately called the dealership and got the car in the next day. They thought it might be the battery. No prior problems. Dealership called and said it was the fuel injectors. Dealership said it was a known issue on 2017-18 CRVs. Google search confirmed many CRV owners withe same issue. Contacted Honda America to ask for compensation since this appeared to be a known issue. They did agree to pay for half of the $1,400 repair. They recommended contacting NHTSA to report the issue as well. We had 91,691 miles on this vehicle at that time.
For the 3rd time in 18 months my car has just stopped accelerating on the freeway and all of my sensors go off at once, my touch screen and speakers go on and off repeatedly. Honda here in Reno, NV keeps replacing my fuel injectors (and making me pay for it) which seems to resolve it for a short while and then it all happens again. This is incredibly unsafe for this car to just stop accelerating at 60 mph… I drive m ya on in this car. Please look into this there are so so many people having this same exact problem with the same car and same year! Just Google “2017 Honda CRV all sensors not accelerating” And “2017 Honda CRV fuel injector problems” Please please help
After filling up the car with gas the cabin smells like gasoline for the first 25 miles then goes away. We are not topping off the gas and it is a strong noxus odor. The car was taken in once when it was new for this issue it went away temporarily but came back now that the car is out of warranty.
The vehicle experienced multiple system failures, indicated by error messages in 11 different systems, including the check engine light. The affected systems were Tire Pressure Monitoring, Brake System, Electronic Power Steering, Vehicle Stability Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation, Electric Parking Brake, Emissions System, Brake Hold System, Hill Start Assist, and Collision Mitigation System. The vehicle was checked with a code scanner. The codes retrieved were “DTC 0300 Random Misfire, DTC P0301 No1 Cylinder Misfire, P0172 Fuel System (B1) Too Rich and DTC P0304 No4 Cylinder Misfire” No other system faults were detected despite the earlier errors. The direct injection fuel injectors and engine design seem to be the probable cause. There has been no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. There were no pre-warning lamps, messages, or symptoms before the failure, suggesting the...
After driving for a few miles, the engine stall / studders while driving. Speed limited to 9 mph. Issue is intermittent. It has happened 6 times in one evening causing us to have to pull over to the edge of the freeway. The car is not currently doing this but the symptoms are the same as described in “Safety Recall: 2018–20 CR-V Fuel Pump Motor”
In June 2024 the first warning that appeared was an emissions warnings. The vehicle seemed to be running fine despite the warning. After the warning was cleared, the vehicle continued to run well. At the beginning of August the vehicle experienced multiple system failures, indicated by error messages in 11 different systems, including the check engine light. The affected systems were Tire Pressure Monitoring, Brake System, Electronic Power Steering, Vehicle Stability Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation, Electric Parking Brake, Emissions System, Brake Hold System, Hill Start Assist, and Collision Mitigation System. When these errors were displayed, critical safety systems in the vehicle were rendered inoperable, posing a significant risk while driving. An emissions system issue should not have caused multiple safety systems to be disabled. After the errors occurred, the vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection. The dealer identified that the emissions system was running too...
When the car was around 60k miles, all the warning lights started appearing. I took it to repair shop and they did some testing and cannot find any issues. The warning lights stopped for two weeks and all warning lights showed up. Initially they changed a spark plug. The warning lights stopped for another week and reappeared . This time I was told all fuel injector need to be changed. Honda has recall on almost all vehicles except my crv. There were no parts in any dealership. I had no choice but to change all fuel injectors which cost me $1600. Since this particular part is defective in almost all Honda vehicles, I should get this repaired at no charge. It is the same type of fuel injectors in all vehicles, I think Honda should expand recall to crv too. I called Honda. They told me that there is no...
The vehicle experienced multiple system failures, indicated by error messages in 11 different systems, including the check engine light. The affected systems were Tire Pressure Monitoring, Brake System, Electronic Power Steering, Vehicle Stability Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation, Electric Parking Brake, Emissions System, Brake Hold System, Hill Start Assist, and Collision Mitigation System. After the errors occurred, the vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection. The dealer identified that the emissions system was running too rich, causing the fuel injectors to become soiled, leading to engine misfires and reduced power/fuel economy. The dealership replaced the fuel injectors, documenting the issue as “DTC P0303 No3 Cylinder Misfire, P0172 Fuel System (B1) Too Rich.” No other system faults were detected despite the earlier errors. There has been no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives at this time. The components are available for inspection upon request. There were...
All lights in dash came on randomly one day. Would go on and off periodically eventually they stayed on. Vehicle began going into limp mode changed all spark plugs, fuel pump and injectors continued difficulty with control center every light remains on speedometer is in correct all safety features are inactive. Car is completely unsafe to drive will go into limp mode out of nowhere have tried everything to resolve issues nothing has helped. Entire system should be recalled
My 2017 Honda CRV has been diagnosed as needing replacement of its fuel injectors. When this problem is detected by its onboard computer system, all warning lights illuminate on dashboard display (even though they are unrelated), and all the ADAS safety features are disabled until the system can be reset - these include blind spot detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, etc. Because the car was otherwise driving fine, I explored other possible reasons for what seemed to be an issue with the electronics, such as a faulty battery. Eventually, it became apparent there was a fuel injection problem when the car went into what others have referred to as 'limp mode,' which means that it struggles to accelerate to even 5-10 mph at best. Thankfully, the two times this happened before I was able to take it to the dealership were both on residential streets without traffic. If...
All vehicle alerts came on, vehicle randomly started braking hard while driving. We brought it to the dealership, told it needs all new fuel injectors and a VSA module. VSA module is on backorder, no timeline for a new one. Told vehicle is unsafe to drive without VSA module.
For about six months my service lights have been lighting up. For the same amount of time I have noticed that my car begins to "stink" after running for a minute or two. I took it into the dealership and the service advisor states that I have three of four fuel injectors that have failed. I asked the service advisor about the warranty and she states those are not under warranty. I have researched this issue and have found that many many people have had problems with their fuel injectors and Honda will not replace them under warranty. I am sending this complaint because I feel that this issue should be covered under a recall warranty, since it has been noted in other models that the fuel injectors were recalled and repaired. Please help.
All of my warning lights are on. The above checklist only lets me pick 3 items total but every warning light is on. Brake hold system, power steering, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, road departure, electric parking brake, tpm, emission system problem, all wheel drive system. My car has went from driving 70mph on the highway to suddenly going to 10-20 mph! Super dangerous and this has happened 2 times. First time in March 24’ and again May 24’. The reset resolved it briefly but it returned again and again. Now all lights are on and it scares me to drive on the interstate because I don’t know when it will happen again. My safety features do not work on my car when the lights are on. I have had the codes checked and reset 2 times. Codes P0172 & P0303 were a couple codes it shows.
I recently visited Honda dealership ( Honda of Chantilly, Chantilly, VA - 20151). I would like to report the findings for further guidance. All warning signs on my 2017 Honda CRV turning on while driving on the high way. These signs come and go often. So, I took the SUV to the dealership for the diagnosis. Dealer found the issue and the diagnosis code was P0172 (Fuel System too rich). Later I figured that this code is reported under recall/extended service with clear detail ( Honda Service Bulletin 19-037). I reported the findings with doc to the Honda Manufacturer and dealer but their response was that my Vin is not impacted. So, they denied to fix the issue. However, my car has the same issue with diagnostic code which was performed by dealer.
Fuel pump failure caused an engine stall while driving twice.
All warning lights have been illuminated for several months. On occassion will turn off, but only for 1-2 days then back on again for another few weeks. After on-line research learned this is a very common problem for this make/model/year that Honda is not acknowledging as an issue. Honda dealer service technician diagnosed what I already knew that car needs new fuel injectors. Most safety features and cruise control do not function as a result. Parts are on backorder.
Have dealt with oil dilution the life of this vehicle, around 63K miles all lights lit up in the dash disabling ALL safety features. For a while this issue would come and go and the lights would clear,CEL included. Brought into Honda for a diagnosis and they state that the vehicle needs new fuel injectors. Due to the CEL from the fuel Injectors it disables ALL safety features therefore putting the driver and others on the road at risk.
On April 27 suddenly, without prior warning or indication, all dashboard warning lights and all system alerts went off simultaneously. My Honda dealer confirmed today the issue is the fuel injectors. All 4 injectors failed the fuel ratio test. They quoted $2,000 to fix. I negotiated the price down to $1700 as I am just 4K miles out of manufacturer warranty. This injector issue disables KEY safety features of the CR-V's when it occurs. An injector issue should NOT cause safety features of the CR-V to stop working (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...)
My car went into the limp mode when I was driving and would only go 7 to 8 miles per hour. This is a big safety hazard. Had I been on the freeway and not near my home, it could have easily caused an accident.I had it towed to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong and said it was probably Bad gas. Prior to this, several lights had come on the dash stating that all of the systems in the car were not working. They also could not tell me why that was happening. It seems now that I find out that Honda CRVs made in the year 2017 have bad fuel injectors. I'm having to get that replaced. I'm not sure if that's what caused the car to go into the limp mode.
Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Honda CRV Fuel Injector Issue Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Team, I am writing to urgently report a safety concern regarding my Honda CRV, and to request a recall and replacement of the fuel injector system. Recently, my Honda CRV experienced a series of warning lights illuminated on the dashboard display. Upon diagnostic examination at an authorized Honda dealership, it was determined that the issue stems from a malfunctioning fuel injector. Prior to this diagnosis, my vehicle was involved in two alarming incidents where its speed became uncontrollable, despite my efforts to apply the accelerator pedal. The first incident fortunately did not result in an accident due to sparse traffic conditions. However, during the second incident, the vehicle behind me was forced to perform an emergency brake maneuver, narrowly averting a potentially catastrophic collision. These incidents highlight a critical safety hazard that poses a...
All the following safety systems were getting failed lights on vehicle: - Adaptive Cruise control - Collision Mitigation - Road Departure Mitigation - Vehicle Stability Assist - Hill Start Assist - Electric Parking Brake - Tire Pressure Monitoring. We were replacing the battery thinking it was a battery issue as it was diagnosed prior. Took it to dealer and they confirmed fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced at 81K miles.
Driving on the highway at 65-70 MPH from Buffalo on [XXX] - so there was heavy traffic. Engine started to run rough, then the warning system showed almost all of the errors on the dash, including TPM, collision avoidance, lane alert, etc. Then the car could only go about 25 MPH, so had to pull off to the side (luckily) and turned off car to restart since that has worked before. This time it did not work, so had to drive about 1 mile to next exit on the side of the road and call for a tow from Erie to Pittsburgh. This has happened before when trying to accelerate from an ramp to the highway. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I was driving my Honda CRV 2017 on I-65 in Birmingham - Montgomery area in Alabama in March 2024 and suddenly in the middle of the busy highway the vehicle stalled and wouldn’t drive even after stepping on the accelerator a little harder. I then turned on my emergency lights to signal to the behind vehicles that I have and emergency situation became I was in the middle of a busy highway and the vehicle simply wouldn’t drive. I managed to pull aside of the highway and turned the engine off because I didn’t know what the issue was. After a few minutes I started the vehicle again and drove a few miles and the vehicle stalled again. After a couple of repeated cycle, I got the vehicle to a nearby Honda dealership for diagnostic testing which later revealed that the fuel injectors, the head gasket, the turbo system etc...
The fuel injectors are the issue with this Honda. When driving with these injectors and they go bad the vehicles braking system, lane assist, and Vehicle stability goes out. I have had my vehicle serviced (no injectors available to fix issue at this moment) by a Honda dealership since every warning and check engine light was on. Honda is aware of this issue but fails to recall the injectors. No repair invoice yet however it is a $2,500 fix when the parts are available from backorder.
While driving on the highway, the car abrutly slowed down to 25 mph and all of the lights on the dash lit up. Fortunately, I was able to pull over to the side of the highway and avoid an accident. Upon taking the car to the dealership, they stated that the car required new fuel injectors. Prior to this incident, there were no indications of any issues with the car.
All the warning lights on my dashboard lit up one day with no warning. I took it to the dealer and they determined that the fuel injectors were bad.
All warning lights turned on and vehicle lost power/dropped speed to virtually 10 mph. This is a fuel injection issue and is widespread safety problem with the honda crv. A girl recently had this issue and was rear-ended. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In September of 2022 all the warning lights went off and the associated systems shut down. Took vehicle to dealer and had codes checked. Code thrown was P0172 - system too rich. Though vehicle was under extended warranty at the time of this incident none of the potential TSB’s for this known issue were investigated. Was advised that it was potentially bad gas and to run it low, return to dealer and have lights reset, refill with better fuel and see if the code trips again. Now in January of 2024, after my extended warranty has expired, the same code has been thrown again, and I’ve been advised to try the same thing, though this adviser does not believe the gas is the issue. He speculates that the fuel injectors are the likely culprit. Once again, a very known issue to Honda, which costs about $1500 to $2000 to repair....
My car had been rough on the steering wheel and eventually started to stall but still had a quarter of a tank of gas. It marked at a quarter of a tank but stalled in the middle of the freeway going 65+ mph and caused me to go from 65 to 0 in a matter of seconds. All my lights came on, on my dash and the car would not run. Went to get gas and car took a while to run again, this is the second time it happens and I didn’t even get a warning light for gas, there was that much still left in it. Apparently no recalls are associated with this VIN but this has happened twice in a month and it runs through gas very quickly.
While driving the car it began to spit and sputter and lost power to the point I had to pull out of traffic to the shoulder, stop, and turn hazard lights on. While there I turned the car off and restarted it. I began to enter back into traffic, got to about 10-15 mph and all of a sudden the car ran choppy and every light came on the dash displaying a problem with every function of the car. My husband works about a mile from where I was so I drove from where it happened to his workplace. From there the phone calls began to obtain a tow to the dealership. Diagnostic results said head gasket was leaking and coolant was fouling the spark plugs. Dealer quoted $5700 for repairs. (25 hours of labor). Around 86,000 miles (10 weeks ago) the same dealership replaced fuel injectors and spark plugs...
I own a 2017 Honda CRV EX AWD. While driving downhill on a mountain road on Dec. 9, 2023, all of my dashboard warning lights and alarms began flashing and sounding off. Some of the warnings cycled through one after another while others were simultaneous. I continued to drive looking for a safe place to pull over. Going downhill I was able to maintain some speed, but when the road leveled off I found I was unable to accelerate to more than 5-10 miles per hour despite the engine continuing to rev. After pulling over, I stopped the engine for 10 minutes. Upon restarting, the dashboard warnings repeated the same process. At first opportunity, I took the car to a Honda dealership where code DTC P0304 was diagnosed and I was advised that the problem was failure of my fuel injectors. Repairs were made at a cost of more than...
In August my 2017 Honda CRV started losing acceleration and felt like it was stalling. Every light on the dashboard came on. I brought it to herb chambers in Westborough and they fixed the turbo charger, the vehicle was still under warranty so I expected to get the issue fixed. In early December the newly 'fixed' honda CR-V started losing acceleration, similar to the previous time. I got the car to the dealership and they fixed the same issue again but charging around 3000$ because now the car wasn’t under warranty. On Saturday January 6th I started up the 2017 Honda CRV with the intentions of going to Herb Chambers in Westborough. (10-15 miles). The CRV again loses acceleration and check engine light comes on along with every other light in the book. Realizing I was not going to make it to Herb Chambers, I pulled into a lot to...
Bad Fuel Injectors at 60,000 Miles Caused all dash lights to go on Car went into Limp mode
Car shut down while driving in middle of highway couldn’t even get it to shoulder. Everything stopped. Would not restart. Took to Honda Dealer. “Reset” fuel pump. Said we were out of gas but there was still 1/8 tank. No other diagnosis. Very unsafe.
Fuel pump stopped working. Car had trouble starting, felt ‘jumpy’ while driving. Had to get the fuel pump replaced.
Defective fluid injector in multiple CRV 2017. Honda has discontinued the original part and updated the part along with the part number. This injector issue disables KEY safety features of our CR-V's when it occurs. An injector issue should NOT cause safety features of the CR-V to stop working (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...) In addition to the disabling key safety features, some CR-V's have reportedly gone into limp mode while at highway speeds. If this occurs to you while you have a 18 wheeler on your rear, you could potentially be in a serious injury/life event.
All warning lights on the dashboard come on and disable numerous safety features. The car will have a rough idle at ignition and will sometimes go into a limp mode and will not accelerate. I have researched the issue and believe it is the fuel injectors. According to my research that is the solution that Honda has for these problems. Honda has also changed the part number of these fuel injectors and the manufacturer. I believe Honda is at fault for putting manufacturer defective fuel injectors in.
When I was driving on highway when moving from Texas to Indiana, about 11 warning lights were suddenly on. After sending my car to a local vehicle and mechanic autocenter, the vehicle has been detected code P0172 and P0304 issues which trigger check engine light one along with another 10 warning lights, including turning off cruise control and off-road detection systems. Both my local Honda dealer and mechanic auto center diagnose it as fuel injector faulty and warned me not driving it on highway for potential risk.
All dashboard warning lights come on They flash and cycle through. I have reported to Don Wessell Honda and Pineger Honda in Springfield, MO and Honda of Jefferson City, Jefferson City, MO. This stated sporadically in 2021 and is constant in 2023. I have paid for replacement parts based on the best guess of the problem. Scanning tool does not show codes. First alternator, then oxygen sensor and now injectors. Honda believes injectors are the problem. It is over $1,000.00 to replace them. I have found numerous people having the same issue on line. I believe these injectors should be covered under a recall. They are dangerous!!! When the flashing lights go off the car works fine; once they turn on, randomly, the car spurts and dies out. I have no power to drive. I have to manually turn off car and restart it to get power. This is extremely...
2017 Honda CRV Ex 1.5 Turbo with 97483 miles while driving Multiple alerts on dash showed up. OBD 2 scanner diagnosed it as P0172. Dealership was informed of the code as dealer code came back the same and diagnose it as failed fuel injectors x4. Showed recall letter dated 7/2019 regarding extended warranty Honda Corp. denied claim.
We've had to tow our car to the dealership 2 times due to fuel pump, fuel injector related issues. It seems for the year 2017 CRV this is a very common and known issue but Honda is not acknowledging it. Tech notes state: CUSTOMER STATES MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND VEHICLE WILL NO ACCELERATE PAST 20MPH. PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE. FOUND CODE P0301 STORED. CHECKED COOLANT LEVEL AND FOUND OK.CHECKED FREEZE FRAME DATA. FOUND ST FUEL TRIM IS AT 0.82. SYSTEM IS RUNNING VERY RICH. RECOMMEND SB 19- 032 IS PERFORMED. AFTER A/F TEST SHOULD BE PERFORMED TO DETERMINE IF INJECTORS NEED REPLACEMENT AS WELL. PERFORMED SB 19-032.1245B5 Reset the maintenance minder. Update the PGM-FI and TCU software. Replace the oil, and do the throttle position reset and PCM idle learn procedure. (A/C control unit replacement not necessary.) 0.6 hr
In August 2022, I started my car and all indicators on the dash were lit. I took the car to the Honda dealership and they explained it was an oil dilution issue which was covered by Honda's extended warranty. Three weeks later after the repair, I started my car and all indicators on the dash were lit again. I took it back to the dealership and they diagnosed a problem with the fuel injectors. The service person that it was not covered under the warranty or a recall, but that they had noticed other CR-V owners experiencing the same issue. I had to have my fuel injectors replaced which cost me $1,491.76. It appears that the fuel injector issue is present on the Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey vehicles manufactured around the same time as my CR-V, but a recall has not been issued. I filed a complaint with Honda to...
The engine failed and I was stranded 60 miles from home.all the dash lights were blinking and I couldn’t get the parking brake to unlock . It is available for inspection . I was stranded at a service station with another senior citizen for three hours in 100 degree plus weather. We were stranded and our safety was compromised as we waited for help . I had it towed to a dealer 20 miles away . Rented a hotel and got an Uber to the car the next morning . The auto repair person examined the car and determined that the turbo fan had disintegrated and was sucked into the engine . After further rested he reported the engine had failed and it would cost $8 000. Many of the lights and sensors suddenly began to blink . The car lost some power but we were able to limp to...
This was first noticed in May 2023 . All the advanced warning signs were flashing And the car would intermittently stall in traffic . The dealer said the fuel injectors were faulty and needed to be redesigned. The dealer said that these fuel injectors were on back order with no availability date. If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged. When I bought the car I bought the gold level easy care extended warranty period 10 year a 120000 miles . They deny covering this repair because there was residue on the fuel injectors period period my point of course was they were faulty by design not by my neglect period. It is now mid-september and I have been without a vehicle since June....
My 16 year old son was driving the vehicle when all of the lights on the dashboard started flashing and alarms started sounding. As a new driver he found this really alarming and didn't know what to do. He was driving along at 40 mph along a local main road and very nearly collided with a vehicle in front of him at a set of traffic lights because he lost attention on the road. He pulled to the side of the road and was then a hazard to other road users and in a dangerous spot himself until he called me and I went out to him in a different car. We drove home carefully as the car seemed to be running fine but he was understandably shaken up. This has occurred multiple times in the last couple of weeks. The car bleeps several times and goes through all of...
All fuel injectors failed per Honda dealership. They pulled error code p0172 from the car. When the fuel injectors fail, all of the car dash lights go on; saying the car has disabled ALL of the car's safety features, including: collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, lane keeping assist, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, electric parking brake, and tire pressure monitoring system.
Beginning 8/22 and currently happening, my 2017 CR-V 1.5L Turbo with 48K miles (and all routine services done at Honda dealership/service centers since buying it brand new) does not engage when going from Reverse to Drive; in 1st gear the RPMS increase up to 3K or so before shifting into 2nd gear. When stopped at a traffic light or stop sign, and the car is idling, when starting up again the car hesitates and shutters before engaging. When on the highway and slow down for traffic or switching lanes, the vehicle hesitates even when pushing the gas pedal consistently or down all the way. I have had the vehicle into three different Honda dealerships/service centers and they can replicate the issue but no resolution as there are no service codes identified during diagnostics and none appear on the dash. First Honda advisor came up with no recommendations; 2nd advisor flushed...

My 2017 CRV started beginning of this year 2023 one day with all the dash codes lighting up effecting the safety drivability of the vehicle. It would randomly stop accelerating and all driver assist system not functioning properly. Accelerating was dangerous vehicle would stall or hesitate to go and almost caused us to get into an accident. This has been brought to a main Honda dealership in Henrietta New York and confirmed that replacing the fuel injectors would solve the problem and that this was an ongoing issue with the Honda CRVs. My vehicle was one of many that had been waiting for fuel injectors to be delivered at that shop. Based on other forums and Honda sites how this isn’t a recall is baffling. We waited over a month without our vehicle being fixed and unusable because the part was out of stock. Vehicle is still not fixed and...
