The failed component was a broken drive shaft for the driver-side front wheel. The drive shaft failed while stopped in Denver traffic. The vehicle was inspected by Fisher Honda, of Boulder, Colorado. This is a known problem, and Honda has already issued a "regional" recall for the drive shaft (recall #20V-769) for vehicles that are driven in states that use road salt in the winter. Unfortunately, even thought this vehicle was purchased and driven in Nebraska the first six years, and Nebraska is a heavy user of rock salt on its state highways, the state of Nebraska was excluded from the region. The recall (#20V-769) states that "There have been no reports of occurrences (of the broken drive shaft) outside of the salt-belt region." If it was not a false statement when published, it is a false statement now, as my car is outside of the 21 states referenced as...
2014 Honda Accord Hybrid purchased new, completed all routine and recommended maintenance over its life. - The passenger side drive shaft failed on May 5, 2025, pulling into our driveway, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. - The driver’s side drive shaft failed on December 4, 2025, leaving a shopping center parking lot, and it fell out of the bottom of the car onto the pavement. Attached are photos of both driveshafts, which clearly show the similarities in the failures. I have the parts for the driver’s side in my possession and am happy to furnish them for analysis. These failures are catastrophic in that the vehicle was rendered undrivable with a loss of control without warning. This vehicle is used daily for highway commuting and had this failure occurred on the highway at 65 mph, I believe it would have caused a...
[XXX] son was driving vehicle outside of city limits. Had come to a 4 way stop sign and proceeded to make a left hand turn towards town. After turning and accelerating vehicle made a loud noise and immediately began coasting to a stop. Son pulled over thinking something with the transmission as the motor is running fine. The car is "free rolling" while in park and will only make a "clunking/knocking" noise when put into gear. Used insurance to have vehicle towed the 14.8 miles home after being stuck on the highway for an hour. Today after internet searching found #20V769 regarding issue with broken driveshaft due to poor coatings from factory. Lack of coatings cause a premature failure due to rust build up, which is accelerated by road salt use. This bulletin covers several states that are in the "ice belt" of the US where they use road salt...
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop and making a right turn, the vehicle lost power and started rolling. The vehicle was able to reverse 100 ft. and to push the vehicle 20ft. into a nearby parking lot. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the front passenger's side CV axle was fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side CV axle was fractured and could not be separated from the knuckle. The dealer applied excessive heat to separate the CV axle from the knuckle to replace the drive shaft; however, the part could not be separated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V769000 (Power Train), which the dealer related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the...
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to operate the vehicle, the vehicle failed to move forward or reverse. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V769000 (Power Train); however, since the vehicle was not diagnosed, it was not known if the failure was related to the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
After a cold start, when trying to accelerate to merge onto street the engine dies. Also sometimes engine or transmission jerks when speeding up or slowing down after letting off of gas or brakes.
In 2020, there was a recall (#20V769) on the driveshaft of the 2014 Honda Accord. The car was in the Midwest for 4 years, so I was concerned that the issue with corrosion could directly impact the vehicle due to weather conditions. I went to have the recall serviced, but still noticed the car to be sluggish upon shifting in to gear. I reported the concern to the Honda dealer to see if it was repaired correctly and to understand why it took time for the car to "switch" in to gear. After review, they said nothing was wrong with the car. I continued to have these issues, however every time I went to the Honda service team to get an oil repair the diagnosis report did not show any issues with the transmission. There was a recommendation to get the transmission oil changed, which I did in March 2023....
Mechanic noted that drive shafts were corroded and unsafe and they were replaced. This appears to be the same issue as NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:20V-769, however, my VIN was not covered under this. I think this issue affects more than the accords with CVT transmissions in recall 20V-769. I bought this car and live in MA.
I got the transmission problem in my car. When I was in traffic, and try to accelerate, the car started jerking multiple times. This car suddenly jumps/jerks when I try to accelerate in the slope.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V769000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the contact heard and abnormal sound underneath the vehicle. The vehicle then lost motive power. The contact stated that the shift lever was not responding. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the dealer was unable to service the vehicle for more than five days. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
I was driving on a highway at around 75 mph when I suddenly lost power. I could hear the engine running but there was no power in the wheel. I could feel that the vehicle was decelerating so in panic I activated the emergency light and immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the road. Even when the vehicle was idle for some time, I could hear the engine running but there was no power on the wheel, so I think the issue is with transmission. The vehicle is not movable but if you guys are willing to visit me, it is available for inspection. This issue put my safety as well as the safety of others at risk as it suddenly lost power in an expressway. If I hadn't realized the deceleration sooner, I would have been in a bad rear-end accident with other vehicle. I will be...
Had a call from Honda to check drive axle for corrosion. I took the car in. They said they were ok. I had some work done yesterday and my mechanic is very concerned about my axles saying they were badly rusted out. Looked almost completely corroded and I should do something about them. I'm not sure what to do as I have been to Honda for other reasons just recently and they did not say anything about that in their usual reports they give when you show up there so I figured to talk about it here to see if I could get some help. I only have pictures of them and they look very bad.
The EPS on my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L did not perform its primary functions. Such as steering. The steering wheel became very difficult to move. The wheel was extremely stiff and vibrated at the slightest attempt to turn in either direction. I am grateful this did not happen while I was driving on the road.
The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the drive shaft fractured. The vehicle was towed to contact residence. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but they provided no additional assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 20V769000 ( Power Train).
I have a issues that when I’m at a stop light and then I start pressing the pedal to accelerate, the vehicle don’t moved or don’t respond on time. I have to press the pedal several times for the transmission to respond
Car does not start on the first attempt. Starter does not crank. It makes a click sound. Need to try upto 5 times until it cranks and starts the engine. Took the car to a mechanic and diagnosed a bad starter that needs replacement. I'm disappointed that the starter failed at only 58000 miles.
My son was driving and the car just shut down. When he tried to start the car it would not move no matter what gear you put it in ex. Drive, reverse. No warning lights came on. Had it towed to a Honda dealership and the said it was the transmission. I have not had any problems prior to this either.
The front axles of my front wheel drive car are rusting. The NHTSA has issued a safety recall for this problem (Recall Number 20V-769, MFR Campaign ID: W9F, Campaign Description: 2013-2015 Accord Driveshaft Inspection Safety Recall, Recall Date: 12/18/2020). Honda issued a service bulletin (#20-125), however my VIN number is not included in this recall. This is a dangerous situation if one of the axles were to fail at a high speed (I drive about 100 highway miles per day, M-F). I filed a request with Honda to include pay for the repair to my car, but today (2/2/22) they declined my request because the VIN number is not included in the safety recall. I have pictures of the rust on each axle and have a certified Honda mechanic's report (from the Honda dealership where I bought the car) that recommends both front axles be replaced due to this problem
Driving down road and engine started to shake going from 0 to driving speed. while driving heard/felt a big shake and car was no longer able to drive car forward. when it came to a stop. i tried all gears but non would respond. i was luck enough to be on a 2 lane street instead of a highway.
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA FOR THE DRIVESHAFTS PREMATURE FAILURE ON THE 2014 ACCORD MODELS. THIS FAILURE IS RELATED TO PREMATURE CORROSION OF THE DRIVESHAFTS. THEN WE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THE VEHICLE RECALL WAS CANCELED BECAUSE " WE DON'T LIVE IN A SNOW AREA AND THAT NO CORROSION SHOULD HAVE OCCURRED. THIS IS NEBRASKA! PLENTY OF SALT AND SNOW! AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR REGULAR SERVICE IN JULY, THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE AXLES AND "STRONGLY ADVISED A REPLACEMENT" EVEN BEFORE WE HAD RECEIVED ANY RECALLS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I REACHED OUT TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR DRIVESHAFTS AND PROVIDE ME WITH THE RECALL WEBSITE. SO I SUBMITTED THE REQUIRED INFORMATION TO THE HONDA RECALL WEB SITE.THIS INCLUDED THE SERVICE INFORMATION, APPROPRIATE INVOICES AND THE ORIGINAL RECALL SHEET. 6 WEEKS LATER, HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLED ME AND STATED...
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MYAUTOMARIC TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED ON ME. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE CAR CAME OUT OF GEAR, AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER AND GET A TOW. I HAVE MAINTAINED MY CAR EXTREMELY WELL SINCE I PURCHASED IT NEW, AND AT 90K MILES I'M APPALLED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL. IM BEING TOLD IT WILL COST $6000 TO REPLACE. THIS WILL BE THE LAST HONDA I BUY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V769000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. BRAMAN HONDA (7000 CORAL WAY, MIAMI, FL 33155, (833) 869-6068) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V769000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WATERMARK HONDA (3201 PARK AVE, PADUCAH, KY 42001, (270) 444-6632) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DECLINED TO PAY THE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY CAR IS SUBJECT TO NHTSA RECALL NUMBER20V-769. THE HONDA DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR IT UNLESS I PAY ANOTHER $1,500 FOR PARTS. MY DEALER SAID THIS WAS A "MONEY GRAB" BY HONDA AND ALL RELATED PARTS AND LABOR AT 4.5 HOURS. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A RECALL BECAUSE MY DRIVESHAFT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
APPROX. 165000 I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE CVT TRANSMISSION BLEW WITH ME ONLY OWNING FOR APPROX. 2.5 YEARS. I'M NOW ON MY 3RD CVT TRANSMISSION AND HONDA BLAMED ME FOR THE MALFUNCTION. I WAS DRIVING TO PICK UP MY 3 YEAR OLD FROM DAYCARE WHEN I HEARD A BANG AND ITEMS FALLING FROM MY CAR. I WAS ABLE TO COAST AND PARK IN A CHURCH PARKING LOT.
FEBRUARY 13, 2021 AROUND 11:45 I WAS DRIVING WITH MY SON AND HIS FRIEND & MY DOG WITH ME, I ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT IN INTERSECTION WHEN I HIT THE GAS PEDAL I HEAR A NOISE UNDER MY CAR (BOOM) THEN THE CAR WON'T GO FOWARD EVEN THOUGH I HIT GAS. THEN I PUT IN REVERSE IT'S THE SAME THING IT WON'T STOP THE CAR ARE STILL MOVING BACKWARD SO I HIT THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION. SO I PUT THE GEAR IN "P" PARK POSITION BUT THE CAR ARE STILL MOVING DOWN THE HILL. SLOWLY BY SLOWLY BACKWARDS AND THEN I HIT THE SNOW ON THE SIDE ROAD THAT'S WHY THE CAR STOP. I'M SO NERVOUS ON THAT MOMENT EVEN MY SON AND HIS FRIEND ARE SCARED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V769000 (POWER TRAIN) IN WHICH BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DRIVE SHAFTS WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT 10 DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 8 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, A LOUD POPPING AND BANGING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END HAD OCCURRED. AFTER STOPPING TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY WITH THE SHIFTER IN PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT DRIVESHAFT HAD FRACTURED AND THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO POOR CASTING OF THE PART. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE CAR JERKED AND SHUT OFF THENSTARTED ON OWN. REPEATED TWICE. THIS HAPPENED ONCE WHILE MAKING A BROKEN U TURN IN A CULDESAC, THE OTHER WAS IN MY PARKING SPOT.
CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY STATIONARY IN PARK AND JUST ROLLED OFF OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY BY ITSELF.I HAVE A VIDEO BUT I UNABLE TO LOAD ON HERE. PROOF VIDEO.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ABS, VBS AND STEERING LIGHTS ALL COME ON AT SAME TIME. BROUGHT INTO THE DEALER SHIP AS A SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 103,000 MILES. DEALER RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND RESET SENSORS, SAID IT COULD BE A BAD MODULE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD COST $1800 TO REPLACE. DROVE CAR FOR 2 DAYS ALL LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. QUESTIONED DEALER ABOUT MODULE AND HOW COMMON REPLACEMENT WAS. THEY SAID NEVER REPLACE THEM. RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON AND CAUSES MANY ISSUES, DEALER/ MANUFACTURER KNOWS OF ISSUE AND REFUSES TO CORRECT ISSUE IN CARS WITH MUCH LESS MILES. COMPLAINED TO DEALER WITH NO RESPONSE.
ALL 2013-2016 HONDA ACCORDS WITH V6 ENGINES AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAVE A DESIGN FAILURE THAT CAUSES THE STARTER AND TORQUE CONVERTER TO GRIND INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL THEY FAIL. THIS DESIGN FAILURE CREATES AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION AND CAN LEAD TO THE OWNER STRANDED. THE COST TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM IS OVER $4,000 . MY FAILURE STARTED WITHIN THE FIRST 3 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH LESS THEN 50,000 MILES. I'VE HAD TO PAY FOR 3 NEW STARTERS AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. AN ONLINE SEARCH SHOW THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT A VERY HIGH RATE ON THESE VEHICLES. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WON'T ALIGN AND EVEN AFTER THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS REPLACED THE PROBLEM WILL STILL OCCUR BECAUSE OF THE CLEARANCE FAILURE DUE A MANUFACTURER DESIGN ISSUE.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD IS EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, LACK OF ENGINE POWER, ENGINE STALLING ISSUES AND OVERALL UNSAFE DRIVABILITY CONDITIONS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ALBANY HONDA ON 5/4/2020 FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE ISSUE BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS I WAS EXPERIENCING SO THEY RECOMMENDED AN OIL CHANGE AND GASKET VALVE COVER REPLACEMENT AND CHARGED ME $262.08 FOR THE SERVICE. I PAID FOR THE SERVICE AND DROVE MY VEHICLE OFF THE LOT WITH THE SEVERE ISSUES STILL PRESENT. AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE STRUGGLED TO GET UP HILLS, BEGAN JERKING, JOLTING VIOLENTLY AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I IMMEDIATELY CALLED SERVE DEPARTMENT BACK AT HONDA AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND THAT I WAS BRINGING THE CAR BACK AND FOR THEM TO DO A THOROUGH INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS OF THE VEHICLE AS IT HAD BECOME A...
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD. MORE SPECIFICALLY, I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A MALL'S PARKING LOT. THERE ARE ONLY 85,636 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS MADE IN AMERICA IN JANUARY 2014. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, THERE WEREN'T ANY ISSUES OR ALERTS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION.
PURCHASED 2014 ACCORD 5 YEARS AGO, AND MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON SO I CALLED TO GET MY CAR SERVICE SINCE MY OIL LIFE SAID I WAS AT 30%. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT MY CAR IS BURNING A LOT OF OIL. OF COURSE, WHEN I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AFTER I REACHED 1K MILES FROM MY OIL CHANGE AND THEY SAID I MAY NEED TO REPLACE PISTON RINGS OR GET A NEW ENGINE. I FIND IT SURPRISING FOR A CAR THAT IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. HONDA MUST BE LYING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND FAILING THE EMISSIONS TEST AS THEIR CARS ARE BURNING WAY TOO MUCH OIL. HONDA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THIS; IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OLDER CARS (HENCE THE RECALL FOR 2008-2011 MODELS) AND SEEMS LIKE IT CONTINUES TO BE PROBLEM...
THE CAR IS BURNING OIL. I COMPLETED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AS REQUESTED BY THE HONDA DEALER AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION IS HIGH, LEADING THEM TO CONCLUDE THAT THE CAR IS BURNING OIL.
I BELIEVE HONDA IS CHEATING ON THEIR EMISSIONS CERTIFICATIONS MY CAR. MY CAR HAS A CALIFORNIA: PZEV EMISSION CERTIFICATION WHICH CONTINUES FOR 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. I PURCHASED THIS PZEV CAR THINKING IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT. MY CAR HAS BEEN WELL CARED FOR, HAS 28,XXX MILES ON IT, AND IS CURRENTLY CONSUMING ENGINE OIL AT THE RATE OF ABOUT ONE QUART EVERY 3,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN TO WALNUT CREEK HONDA COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, AND THEY TELL ME TO CONTINUE ADDING OIL UNTIL THE OIL CONSUMPTION RATE INCREASES TO ONE QUART EVERY 500 MILES. ENOUGH-IS-ENOUGH! THE INTERNET. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF POSTINGS FROM OTHER ANGRY HONDA OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION OF UP TO ONE QUART EVERY THOUSAND MILES AND HONDA SAYS THIS IS NORMAL AND REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CORRECTING HONDAS PROBLEM. DISCUSSION. PZEV MEANS PARTIAL...
I WAS DRIVING IN MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD. I BEGAN TO FEEL WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS "TREMORS" AS I WAS ACCELERATING THE CAR. I WAS GOING AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 25 MPH. THE TREMORS WOULD OCCUR FOR A BIT THEN THE FEEL OF THE DRIVE WAS NORMAL. THIS OCCURRED ON AND OFF OVER THE NEXT 2-3 MILES. I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL, NOT WHILE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. IT JUST WOULDN'T MOVE. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. ONCE HONDA EVALUATED THE CAR AFTER CHARGING A $130 "DIAGNOSTIC" FEE, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALERSHIP'S DISTRICT(?) SERVICE MANAGER TO "SEE WHAT HONDA WANTS TO DO ABOUT IT". THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL THAT THE COST...
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR STAYING ON AND RUNNING , WHEN I COME TO TURN IT ON , IT SHUTS OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HONDA DEALERS AND THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.
SHUTTER FROM TRANSMISSION, FLUID CHANGED, CHANGED AGAIN, FLUSHED 3 TIMES , STILL HAVE PROBLEM
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD HAS 42,000 MILES. STARTING A COUPLE MONTHS AGO, THE CAR WOULD NOT START RANDOMLY. (BATTERY, ALTERNATOR TESTED GOOD. NO ISSUES WITH THEM) I DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, IF THE CAR STALLS IN TRAFFIC OR ON A HILL I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO START THE CAR BACK UP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! I HAVE BEEN STRANDED PLACES BECAUSE THE CAR WON'T START. ONE TIME IT WAS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I COULDN'T LEAVE TO GO HOME FROM WORK BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START. SINCE THE ISSUE STARTED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO, IT IS NO MUCH WORSE. I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY 15 TO 20 TIMES AND IT FINALLY WILL START. SOMETIMES IT WONT. I HAVE READ THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE ISSUES WITH THESE 9TH GEN HONDA ACCORD STARTERS FAILING. MINE FAILED AT 42,000 MILES? WHAT MODERN CAR'S STARTER DIES THAT EARLY?! SOMEONE ELSE'S STARTER DIED AT 24,000...
RANDOMLY THE ABS, BRAKE, TRACTION, AND STEERING WHEEL INDICATORS APPEARED AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND MOVING IN MOTION TO GO TO THE STORE. NO WARNINGS PRECEDED. AFTER BEING CHECKED BY A MECHANIC, IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A BAD MODULATOR. THE INDICATOR LIGHT CONTINUES TO POP UP EACH TRIP. SINCE HAVING THE CAR, THE STARTER WAS REPLACED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO.
WHEEL BEARING FAILURE, PRE-MATURE - THE CAR MADE A LOUD LOW HUM BETWEEN 35-60 MPH. READING FORUM'S ON LINE, ROAD NOISE FROM THE MICHELIN TIRES WAS DESCRIBED WHICH I ASSUMED THE NOISE TO BE. THE NOISE SEEMED TO GET LOUDER OVER TIME SO I HAD THE DEALER CHECK IT OUT. BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARINGS HAD GONE BAD ON A 3 PLUS YEAR OLD CAR (JUST OUT OF WARRANTY) WITH 26,000 MILES. BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AND IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
OIL LIFE AT 40%. CAR WAS MAKING NOISE. WHILE DRIVING AND PRESSED ON BRAKES ...OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF. CHECKED OIL ON CAR. NO DROP OF OIL IN THE ENGINE. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NO LEAKS.. CARBON FOUND ON CYLINDERS, INSIDE ENGINE AND ON PINSTON RINGS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL ESPECIALLY WHEN CONSISTENT OIL CHANGES, FUEL INJECTION WAS CLEANED, AND CVT TRANSMISSION IS ALSO REPLACED CONSISTENTLY. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 6MONTHS AGO. ENGINE IS CURRENTLY DISMANTLED AND WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER! COMPLETELY UPSETTING!
MY 2014 ACCORD EX SEDAN IS ON RECALL NOTICE AND I AM HAVING A FINAL REPAIR ON THE BATTERY MANAGEMENT SENOR NEXT WEEK. FOR SEVERAL WEEKS I AM EXPERIENCING AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INTERMITTENTLY TRYING TO START MY CAR. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL SOMETIMES THE CARE DOES NOT START. I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE NOV. 2013 AND HAVE ONLY HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS. ALL SYMBOLS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT UP AND QUICKLY GO OFF AND I GET A NOTICE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL "POWER IS ON": WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON AGAIN 1-3 TIMES, THE CAR STARTS. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH STALLING OR CUTTING OFF WHILE IN MOTION. MY BATTERY IS ONLY 2 YR. OLD. AND IT WAS JUST CHECKED LAST MONTH AND THE CHARGE WAS OK. CLEARLY THERE IS A SHORT AFFECTING IGNITION...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CHIMING NOISE. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED BUBBLES ON THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH EVENTUALLY CRACKED, AND THE EXTERIOR PAINT WAS BUBBLING. ADDITIONALLY, THE SUSPENSION AND ENGINE MADE ABNORMAL CRACKING AND HISSING NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICK CASE HONDA (157000 RICK CASE HONDA WAY, DAVIE, FL 33331) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SQUEAKING NOISE WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ALL THE OTHER ISSUES HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
BODY: THE TENSION BAR DOES NOT OPEN THE CAR TRUNK LID ALL THE WAY WHICH MORE OFTEN DROPS DOWN AND HIT THE PERSON'S HEAD OR FACE WHO IS PUTTING STUFFS IN THE TRUNK ASSUMING IT IS FULLY OPEN ALL THE WAY. I DID GOT HIT TWICE BY THE CORNER AND EDGE OF THE TRUNK LID ON THE FOREHEAD AND LEFT TEMPLE. THE LATTER CAUSED BRUISE AND PAIN THAT TOOK ME A WEEK TO RECOVER. SHOULD CHANGE WEAK TENSION BAR TO STRONG GAS TUBE OPERATION. ENGINE: THE CAR VIBRATES AND RATTLES UPON PUTTING ON REVERSE GEAR EVEN AFTER AT LEAST A MINUTE WARMUP IN THE MORNING. THE DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR? THIS IS VERY EMBARRASSING FOR A NEWER CAR. I NEVER SEE THIS IN A TOYOTA CARS THAT I OWNED: SIENNA, AVALON... SEATS: DRIVER SEAT IS NOT WELL DESIGNED AND CAUSING AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE AND...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND THEN LUNGED FORWARD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THE DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 05/17/17*LJ *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED. THE GEAR LOCKED IN PARK AND HAD TO BE WIGGLED NUMEROUS TIMES TO RELEASE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE LOCATED. A FEW WEEKS LATER, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT ROLLED OUT OF PARK AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,065.
(1/12/2016) WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE CAR JOLTED AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL. THE CAR BEHIND ME CAME BARRELING UP ON MY BUMPER NEARLY CRASHING INTO ME. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. HAD MY CHILDREN BEEN IN THE CAR, AND THE DRIVER BEHIND ME NOT BEEN SO ALERT (PRAISE THE LORD), THIS COULD HAVE HAD DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES. AFTER THAT INSTANCE THE TRANSMISSION KEPT SLIPPING AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP AGAIN AND AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE, AND THE CAR WOULD JOLT FORWARD AND BACK. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 112,000 MILES ON IT. ALL OUR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN PER SCHEDULE AND PERFORMED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SO THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TRANSMISSION TO FAIL THIS EARLY. I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO SEE IF THAT MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ISSUE, HOWEVER...
