NHTSA Complaint #11617886 — 2014 HONDA ACCORD

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to operate the vehicle, the vehicle failed to move forward or reverse. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V769000 (Power Train); however, since the vehicle was not diagnosed, it was not known if the failure was related to the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
