TAKARA RECALL I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I ALL THE SUDDEN HAD A LOSS OF POWER AND IT WAS LIKE THE MOTOR WAS SPUTTERING LIKE IT HAD A MISFIRE AFTER THAT IT'S VERY HARD TO START AND BARELY MOVES IT COMES UP WITH MULTIPLE INJECTOR CODES THAT ALL FAILED AT THE SAME TIME SOME HIGH SOME LOW
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AT A LOW AMPERAGE. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED IT OFF. IT WOULDN'T START BACK UP RIGHT AWAY. HAD TO WAIT A WHILE IT WOULD START AND LIMPED IT HOME. NO PROBLEMS FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. A COUPLE TIMES IT WOULD START, BUT AT A LOW IDLE WITH NO RESPONSE OF THE GAS PEDDLE. THE FINAL STRAW WAS LAST WEEK. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK. EACH TIME I CAME TO A STOP, IT WOULD LOSE THROTTLE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON TO GET GOING. THEN AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION OF HWY 41 AND 145, IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HWY. I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF...
MY TRUCK STARTED TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY, I'VE HAD IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE NUMEROUS REPAIRS PERFORMED. I SAW NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V270000 WHICH REFERENCES FORD RECALL NO. 05S34. I CALLED TO INQUIRE AT WEST BROTHERS FORD IN SULLIVAN MO. AND WAS TOLD MY TRUCK HAS NO RECALLS. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE FIRST PERSON SAID THE RECALL EXPIRED AND MY TRUCK WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE SECOND PERSON SAID MY TRUCK WASN'T AFFECTED BECAUSE THE RECALL SAID "CERTAIN" VEHICLES. MY TRUCK FALLS IN THE MANUFACTURE DATES LISTED ON THE RECALL, HAS THE 6.0 ENGINE AND IS STALLING NOW. I HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK SINCE NEW AND IT HAS NOT HAD THIS WORK PERFORMED ON IT. I WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION OF WHAT "CERTAIN" VEHICLES APPLY TO THIS RECALL AND WHY MINE DOESN'T. I WOULD ALSO LIKE MY TRUCK FIXED OR REIMBURSED BY FORD, UNLESS THEY CAN...
WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 40 AND 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY STALL. FUEL LIGHT ENGINE PREHEAT WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON. IF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND/OR TOW HAUL ARE IN USE AT THE TIME OF THE STALL, THEY ARE SHUT OFF AT THE SAME TIME. ENGINE CAN USUALLY BE RESTARTED; ON A FEW OCCASIONS IT HAS BEEN NECESSARY TO TURN ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND ATTEMPT TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THIS CREATES A HAZARDOUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS. THE STALLING HAS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS NO LOAD AND ALSO WHEN PULLING A LIGHT WEIGHT FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO 2 LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIPS, THEY HAVE REPLACED PARTS (ACCELERATOR PEDAL, & A "FUEL MANAGEMENT MODULE) BUT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEM AND CLAIM TO BE UNAWARE OF ANY HISTORY OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART IT BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED 30 MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS PERSONALLY DIAGNOSED BY THE CONTACT WHO FOUND THAT THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,200.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 65MPH. ENGINE STARTED BINDING DOWN AND SPEED DROPPED TO 25MPH AND FINALLY COMPLETELY DIED. HAD IT TOWED HOME. NOW WON'T START. HAVE REPLACED EGR COOLER AND OIL COOLER PREVIOUSLY . THIS TIME REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND ALL FUEL FILTERS. WILL CRANK AND RUN FOR A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME THEN WILL DIE AGAIN- AND NOT CRANK BACK FOR AWHILE. JUST REPEATS THIS PROCESS. NOW TOLD THAT IT NEEDS HEAD GASKETS OR HIGH PRESSURE PUMP. THESE PROBLEMS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. WHY WILL FORD NOT FIX THESE PROBLEMS THAT SEEM TO BE ON ALL 6.0 DIESEL MODELS? *TR
