TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F250 SUPERDUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ENGINE EJECTED SPARK PLUGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LICENSED MECHANIC AND REPAIRED BY ADDING AN INSERT INTO THE ENGINE HEAD. THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED AGAIN AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,400.
2004 FORD F250 SUPERDUTY, 6.0 DIESEL, TOWING A 30FT. 5TH WHEEL RV. WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON I95 AT 65MPH AND ENGINE CUTS OFF AS IF THE IGNITION WAS TURNED OFF WITH NO WARNING LOOSING POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. TRUCK WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALER AND REPAIRED AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE. TWO ENGINE WIRING HARNESSES WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $1639.00, $104 TOWING, $289.00 RENTAL CAR AND 6 DAYS IN SAVANNAH, GA. UNEXPECTED. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM AS EVIDENCED BY EARLIER SAFETY RECALL FORD #05S34. FORD STILL REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS 10 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY WITH ONLY 51,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. SAFETY RECALL APPARENTLY DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
ERRATIC ENGINE RPM STALLING AS WELL AS SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITHOUT MOVING ACCELERATOR PEDAL. *TR
2004 FORD 6.0 LITER DIESEL MOTOR- EGR COOLER CRACKING AND THUS CAUSING COOLANT LEAKS INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ENGINE CYLINDERS. EGR COOLER FAILURE CAUSES COOLANT TO ENTER ENGINE CYLINDERS THUS INCREASING CYLINDER PRESSURES ON HEADS. HEAD BOLTS STRETCH AND HEAD GASKETS FAIL. WATER IN CYLINDER LEADS TO MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE. 1000'S OF FORD 6.0 LITER DIESEL OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALERS REPAIR THEM CONSTANTLY. FORD DEALER PARTS DEPT STATES THAT THEY HAVE PARTS IN STOCK BECAUSE THEY CHANGE THEM OUT ON A DAILY BASIS. MY VEHICLE WAS 2 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY WHEN PART FAILED AT 53,163 MILES. EGR COOLER CRACKED, LEAKED OUT COOLANT IN THE EXHAUST AND INTO THE MOTOR, THUS MOTOR FAILED. DEALER SAYS NEED NEW MOTOR AT $10,000. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THE OLDER EGR COOLER COMPONENT. CURRENTLY WHEN THEY CHANGE THEM OUT UNDER WARRANTY, THEY REPLACE IT WITH A NEW AND IMPROVED EGR COOLER....
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PUMP OUT COOLANT AND SMOKE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE HEAD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT FOUND THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, AND WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE BOLTS USED FOR THE HEAD GASKET. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 140,000.

I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-250 WITH A TRITON 5.4 LITER ENGINE. I WENT OUT TO START THE TRUCK AND HEARD A LOUD BOOM AND THEN THE TRUCK SOUNDED LIKE I HAD LOST THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. AS IT TURNS OUT THE ENGINE PRESSURE BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD AND ALSO BROKE THE COIL PACK ON TOP OF IT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM YET FORD HAS NOT OFFERED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BLAMING IT ON MANY ISSUES THAT SIMPLY DO NOT MAKE SENSE. THE GOVERNMENT TO THIS POINT HAS ALSO NOT FORCED A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE WHICH I FIND VERY DISHEARTENING AS THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I OWN A 2004 F-250 POWER STROKE DIESEL MY TRUCK HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES THAT HAVE LEFT ME IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS SUCH AS ON FREEWAYS, WHERE HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS HAD ESCORT ME TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED NUMEROUS PARTS ON MY VEHICLE EVEN BEFORE I HAD THE PROBLEM OF MY TRUCK STALLING. THEY HAD REPLACED ALL THE RECALL PARTS WHICH WAS SAID TO HAVE CAUSED THE STALLING OF THE POWER STROKE MODELS. AROUND 20,00 MILES AFTER I HAD BOUGHT MY TRUCK IT WOULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING.
