Defect: CERTAIN FEDERAL-MOGUL REPLACEMENT WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLIES WITH THE BRAND NAMES: NATIONAL, CARQUEST P/NOS. 515020, 515021, 515025, 515053, 515054, 515059, AND 515060, SHIPPED BETWEEN JANUARY 23, 2006, AND DECEMBER 20, 2007, SOLD FOR LIGHT DUTY AND MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS. THE INBOARD RETENTION NUT USED TO MAINTAIN HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY CAN LOOSEN RESULTING IN AN ABS LIGHT INDICATION, NOISE, AND/OR WHEEL SEPARATION.
Consequence: WHEEL SEPARATION CAN RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: FEDERAL-MOGUL WILL NOTIFY CUSTOMERS AND WILL REPLACE THE HUB ASSEMBLY FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 7, 2008. OWNERS CAN CONTACT FEDERAL-MOGUL TOLL-FREE AT 877-489-6659.

Defect: CERTAIN PRO-A MOTORS CORNER LAMPS, TURN SIGNALS, AND HEADLIGHTS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SOME COMBINATION LAMPS THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.
Consequence: WITHOUT THE AMBER REFLECTORS, THE VEHICLE WILL BE POORLY ILLUMINATED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
Remedy: PRO-A MOTORS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 3, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PRO-A MOTORS AT 323-838-2988.

IN OTHER INSTANCES, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITH A DELAY AND THE ENGINE WAS SLOW TO GAIN SPEED, BUT LATER ACCELERATED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. DAN COLLINS FORD (541-947-4965, LOCATED AT 351 N O ST, LAKEVIEW, OR 97630) AND CROWN MOTORS (541-947-4965, LOCATED AT 351 NORTH O. STREET, LAKEVIEW, OR 97630) WERE NOTIFIED, BUT WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, BLACK SMOKE WAS PRESENT AND THE VEHICLE IDLED HIGH AND LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,686.

2004 FORD F250 SD 6.0L SPUTTERS, LUNGES & DIES OUT WHEN IDLE, WAITING IN TRAFFIC OR DRIVING SLOWLY. LUCKILY, IT'S BEEN STARTING RIGHT BACK UP. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING QUITE OFTEN LATELY. LOOKED UP POSSIBLE CAUSES AND FOUND RECALL 05V270000 FROM 2005, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT ISSUE I AM HAVING. CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE ZERO RECALLS PERTAINING TO THIS TRUCK AND THAT THAT PARTICULAR RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE MY TRUCK. I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT VEHICLE AND HOW THIS ISSUE HADN'T BEEN COVERED UNDER SAID RECALL. I HAVE THE NHTSA RECALL NO EA05003, BUT IT HAS TIMED OUT AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THIS SITE. PLEASE REALIZE THAT ALL THESE SAME VEHICLE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE AND IT ISN'T BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY FORD OR THE NHTSA.
