Doors won't latch in below freezing temperatures even after recall preformed in February 2021. Dealer says there's nothing to be done at this point since the recall has already been preformed. The majority of the time when the temperatures drop below freezing you must drive holding doors closed till it will eventually latch. On several occasions the passenger rear door appeared to latch correctly only to swing open when i make a turn. This has happened with my child in their car seat in the passenger rear area. Available for inspection
I have AC condensation leaking into passenger side floor. I pulled the carpet and there is mold all over. I’m concerned about the mold health hazard to my two young kids and myself.
Continuing issue with the door latches freezing. 20deg weather truck sat all day in car port. Opened driver door and would not latch closed. Lock would not operate. Had to drive holding the door shut. Finally got home and repeatedly worked lock plunger to get in lock position. Door then latched and then would NOT open. Next day heated door latch thru side hole with heat gun to get to work. After sitting 2 hrs again could not get door to latch closed. Drove holding door closed. If lock will move door will latch but then can not be opened from inside or outside. Truck has had two recalls have been completed to fix issue. Still having major issue. In Midwest area.
The door latches on the F-150 become frozen when temperatures drop below freezing. There is no Manual maneuvers you can do to get the door to latch close once it is open. Thus, once the drivers side door is opened for the driver to get in on a freezing morning, the door will not latch close. This causes me to drive down the road with an open door, holding it closed while I make turns down the windy road. It is not until the vehicle and the latch thaw a bit will it secure itself closed.
Driver door latch fails to latch when it get cold outside. I was able to manually move the latch by sticking finger in latch mechanism to make it work. Drove and parked for 3 hours. Came out and door would not latch again. Seems like this is very common with no known fix according to traffic on the web. Ford is unwilling to fix.
TAILGATE OPENED ON ITS OWN, UNEXPECTEDLY, WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES RECENTLY. IT COULD BE DANGEROUS. CANADA HAS ISSUED A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. WHY NOT THE US? THE FIX APPEARS TO BE EASY.
The truck bed is weak; 40lbs dumbbell put a dent in the sidewall and this shows the potential lack of strength within the vehicle.
2018 F-150 PANORAMIC SUNROOF TRACKS AND MOTORS BROKE AND STUCK OPEN POSITION. WAS DRIVING AND WITH FUMES FROM OTHER CARS ENTERING MY VEHICLE FROM OPEN ROOF AND INABILITY TO CLOSE, I WAS GETTING LIGHTHEADED AND ALMOST PASSED OUT FROM EXHAUST FUMES SITTING IN TRAFFIC.
TAILGATE OPENS WHILE DRIVING AT BOTH CITY STREET SPEEDS AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALLOWING ITEMS IN BED TO FALL OUT ON ROAD CREATING ROAD HAZARD. THIS IS MORE THAN AN INCONVENIENCE IT IS DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO KILLED. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. PLEASE. CANADA HAS ALREADY DONE THE RIGHT THING AND ORDERED THE RECALL. IF NHTSA RESPONDS TO THIS PROBLEM TOO LATE OR NOT AT ALL NHTSA WILL HAVE BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS BECAUSE IT IS NOT A MATTER OF IF SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DEATH OCCURS IT IS A MATTER OF WHEN.
ELECTRIC TAILGATE LATCH FAILS CAUSING TAILGATE TO OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY; HAPPENS WHETHER IN MOTION OR STANDING STILL. EVIDENTLY THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM IN CANADA, BUT NOT THE US.
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED WHEN COLD OUTSIDE. WHEN YOU TRY TO CLOSE IT, IT BOUNCES BACK OPEN. THIS HAPPENED WHILE PARKED. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO STAY CLOSED.
DOOR NOT LATCHING PROPERLY. FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE AVAILABLE IN 18DAYS. LAST FORD I WILL BUY.
AFTER ENTERING THE TRUCK, I CLOSED THE DOOR, PUT ON MY SEAT BELT, STARTED THE ENGINE AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO FORWARD GEAR. I NOTICED THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" ALERT AND TRIED TO CLOSE IT AGAIN. THE LATCH DID NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. THE TEMPERATURE WAS A LITTLE BELOW FREEZING, MAYBE 25 DEGREES F. I LET THE TRUCK WARM UP, PLAYED WITH THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING BUTTONS AND AFTER 10 MINUTES OR SO, I GOT THE LATCH TO WORK. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY AND EVEN USING A TORCH TO WARM THE DOOR, IT STILL TOOK AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD GET THE LATCH TO ENGAGE. I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS PROBLEM, INCLUDING SOME ACCOUNTS IN WHICH THE LATCH DISENGAGED WHILE DRIVING! THIS IS EXTREMELY SCARY AND VERY DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM THAT IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO WARRANT...
DOOR LATCHES ARE FREEZING OPEN/CLOSED. DEALER HAD ME DRIVE IT TO THEM TO FIX IT, WHICH I DID SO WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED. I AM BEING TOLD THIS IS NOT A RECALL BUT A TECHNICAL FIX. THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME, IT'S A $40,000 VEHICLE WITH DOOR LATCHES THAT COULD ALLOW A PERSON SEATED TO LITERALLY FALL OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS TO BE FIXED. IT HAPPENED WHEN TEMPERATURES GOT BELOW FREEZING, ABOUT 15 DEGREES, WHILE STATIONARY AT HOME.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AFTER FREEZING CONDITIONS IN MAINE WOULD NOT CLOSE AS I DROVE IT TO UHAUL TO HAVE A HITCH INSTALLED. THIS WAS EXTREMLY DANGEROUS AS THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED.
I HAD JUST GOT MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK, STARTED THE TRUCK AND TURNED ON THE FRONT AND BACK DEFROSTERS. WHILE SITTING AND LETTING TRUCK WARM UP, THE INSIDE OF THE CAB STARTED SMOKING- GOT MY KIDS OUT QUICKLY AND THEN THE BACK MIDDLE WINDOW SHATTERED OUT OF NOWHERE.
BACK SINCE 2018-2019 IVE HAD A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH MY DOOR LATCHES FREEZING, SPECIFICALLY THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. I'M VERY, VERY CONCERNED THAT IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET MY KIDS OUT OF THE TRUCK. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF DRIVING THE LATCH UNFREEZES AND I'M ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THERE IS NO LONGER A TSB ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE ISSUE WAS "FIXED" LAST YEAR (NOV OF 2019). IN FACT THE ISSUE IS NOT FIXED AND MY DOORS FROZE THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO DROPPING MY KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO HELP WITHOUT OUT ME INCURRING OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES (AND RIGHTFULLY SO BECAUSE THIS IS A FORD ISSUE). FORD HAS ALSO NOT STOOD BEHIND ITS VISTA ROOF OPTION (NOT AS BIG OF A SAFETY ISSUE BUT NONETHELESS). THE ROOF GET STUCK AND BANGS OUT OF...
WHEN DRIVING THE TAILGATE WILL UNEXPECTEDLY LOWER, THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH AND WITHOUT LOADS IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THE TAILGATE LOWERING HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAYS, CITY STREETS, TURNING AND WHILE PARKED
DOOR LATCH FREEZES IN COLD WEATHER, AND SO DOOR WILL NO LATCH CLOSED. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED OR USE BUNGEE CORDS TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED.
I WAS TAKING MY GRAND DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND SHE GOT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, SHE CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT "LATCH" AND WE COULD NOT GET IT TO LATCH TO SECURE THE DOOR FROM OPENING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. I WAS AFRAID THE DOOR WOULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND FALL OUT (THIS NEEDS FIXED ASAP. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS WHEN DRIVING 60 MPH OR GREATER THE STEERING WILL "CATCH" THAT IS WHEN GOING AROUND A TURN LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IT KIND OF JERKS AND DOESN'T MAINTAIN CONSTANT TURN IT SEEMS TO LOOSE A CONSTANT CONTROL. THIS CAN CAUSE AN OVER CORRECTION AND LOSS OF CONTROL. IN ORDER TO TRY TO CONTROL I HAVE TO HAVE BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND KNOW IT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT WOULD A YOUNG INEXPERIENCED DRIVER DO...MOST LIKELY OVER CORRECT AND CRASH.
LEAKING IN CORNER OF CAB, ROOF WHERE BLACK TRIM IS RIVETED TO THE ROOF. ALLOWS WATER IN DURING RAIN, SNOW, CAR WASHES AT ALL TIMES. WAS UNABLE TO NOTICE IT UNTIL THE FOAM UNDER THE VINYL FLOORING SOAKED UP ENOUGH WATER WHERE IT COULDN'T HOLD ANYMORE AND LEAKED INTO THE DOOR SILLS. *TR
WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING STATIONARY OR PARKED. DURING RAINY WEATHER WATER LEAKS IN AT TOP OF REAR DOOR AT THE TOP LATCH WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THROUGH THE PANEL EXITING AT THE FIRST SEAM WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL TO THE MAT. THE SEAT BELT BEHIND THE PANEL GETS WET AND WATER GETS ON THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WATER RUNS FORWARD TO THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR WHERE IT COLLECTS (BY THE GALLON) UNDER AND ON TOP OF THE FLOOR MAT.
THE TAILGATE ON MY 2018 FORD F150 SPORADICALLY OPENS ON ITS OWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST THREE SEPERATE TIMES WHILE PULLING A TRAILER CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TAILGATE. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO MY FORD DEALER BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT TIME OF COMPLAINT.
I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR LAST TWO RECALLS. THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE A TIME SLOT THAT I CAN DROP MY TRUCK FOR RECALL REPAIRS. THE DEALER DOES NOT HAVE A BACK UP RENTAL CAR THAT I CAN LOAD DURING MY DROP OFF TIME AS I NEED TO COMMUTE TO WORK ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY EVERYDAY.
TODAY, I SUBMIT THIS COMPLAINT FOR THE UNEXPECTED SHATTERING OF MY FORD F150 REAR GLASS WINDOW, AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN!! IUNOCCUPIED, THE VEHICLE, 2018 F150 ,WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I NOTICED THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE GLASS. THE SLIDER REAR WINDOW WAS NOT SHATTERED AND NO OBJECT STUCK THE GLASS! FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, THE REAR WINDOW APPEARED TO SEPARATE FROM THE ROOF SEAM AND SMALL PIECES OF GLASS LAY ON THE BED COVER. THE TOP CORNERS OF THE EXTERIOR GLASS WERE SHATTERED AND THE REAR GLASS APPEARED TO BUCKLED. APPROXIMATELY 1 HOURS EARLIER, I DROVE TO THE GAS STATION AND UPON MY RETURN PARKED THE VEHICLE IN MY RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. THE REAR WINDOW WAS IN TACT AND THE WEATHER WAS WARM. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER I BEGAN WATERING FLOWERS IN THE BACKYARD AND MADE MY WAY...

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN THE TRUCK GETS COLD AROUND 30DEGREES, THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE PASSENGER REAR DOORS WILL NOT LATCH OR STAY SHUT. BEEN TO THE FORD DEALER TWO TIMES TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND STILL IS A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE. THE DO'S WILL NOT REMAIN CLOSED. LUCKILY MY TRUCK WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED ALL 3 TIMES.

FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 1ST WATER LEAK INSIDE OF OUR TRUCK CAB CREATED A MILDEW SMELL DUE TO WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS. WATER SATURATED ELECTRICAL WIRING UNDER THE DOOR SEAL PROTECTORS ON THE RIGHT-SIDE OF THE FRONT AND REAR DOORS. FIRST NOTICED A PROBLEM DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES WE HEARD A WATER SLOSHING SOUND ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. INDICATIONS OF WATER IN CAB AND SATURATED CARPET'S AND WIRING WENT UNNOTICED DUE TO WEATHER TECH FULL FLOOR MATS. WE CONTACTED FORD CORPORATION ONLINE AND THEY ADVISED FOR US TO TAKE IT INTO OUR DEALERSHIP TO BE ASSESSED. OUR DEALERSHIP MADE AN APPOINTMENT A WEEK OUT, SO OUR TRUCK SAT IN OUR GARAGE FOR AN ADDITIONAL WEEK. WE USED A SHOP VAC AND SUCKED OUT AS MUCH WATER AS WE COULD AND LEFT THE DOOR WINDOWS DOWN TO HELP DRY OUT THE INTERIOR. THE DEALERSHIP...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40-60 MPH THE LIFT GATE OPEN WITHOUT WARNING, ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY THE LIFT GATE AND WINDOWS FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY FORD LINCOLN OF GAITHERSBURG 901 N FREDERICK AVE, GAITHERSBURG, MD 20879 (301) 358-4443 WHERE DIAGNOSED THAT RODENTS DAMAGED THE SOY BASE WIRING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
THIS IS A CONTINUATION WITH COMPLAINT NUMBER 11307725 ALREADY FILED. FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 2ND DISCOVERY OF WATER LEAK IN CAB OF TRUCK WITH WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE WATER LEAK WAS BEHIND THE BACK SEATS DOWN THE CAB WALL INTERIOR. CALLED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOOK OUR TRUCK BACK IN FOR THEM TO ASSESS THIS 2ND WATER LEAK. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRUCK BED TO FIND THIS WATER LEAK COMING IN FROM THE REAR CAB VENTS AND LOCKING TABS ON VENTS. THEY ALSO FOUND THE CARPET INSULATOR WAS BEHIND THE REAR VENTS WHICH CAUSED THE VENT SEAL TO WARP AND LEAK. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR VENTS COMPLETELY THEN THEY RETESTED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NO LEAKS AT THAT TIME. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE TRUCK BED BOLTS AND HAD TO RESPRAY IN THE BED...
THE DOORS DO NOT LATCH WHEN IT IS 32 DEGREES F OR COLDER. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL 18N03 ON JANUARY 22, 2020. ON 2-02-2020 THE LATCH FROZE AGAIN ALONG WITH ON 2-04-2020, THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE. THE RECALL FIX DID WORK. THE DOOR WILL OPEN BUT WILL NOT LATCH. ONCE THE TEMPERATURE RISES, THEY WILL WORK AGAIN.
ALL 4 DOORS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. THEY DO NOT LATCH, OR STAY CLOSED. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. TURNING, THE DOOR HAS OPENED AND THE BACK DOORS HAVE FROZEN AND NOT LATCHED. I HAVE VIDEO BUT THEY ARE TOO LARGE TO ATTACH. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME REPAIR, AND TO DATE THEY'VE HAD IT FOR 23 DAY. THE FIRST TWO MORNINGS AFTER IT SAT OUTSIDE IN TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS THE DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAD TO OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE BY GETTING IN THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER STARTING IT L COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO SHUT UNTIL IT WARMED UP LATTER.
REAR TAILGATE WILL COME OPEN BY ITS SELF WHILE DRIVING
ALL FOUR DOORS ARE SUBJECT TO FREEZING. IT IS IN FOR THE SECOND TIME. A RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED. THE PROBLEM IS THE DOOR WILL OPEN AND WILL NOT LATCH BACK CLOSED. THIS RESULTS IN HAVING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE DOOR UNLATCHED AND SWINGING OPEN FREELY. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION. THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WHEN THE DOOR MUST BE HELD SHUT WHILE DRIVING

DOOR LATCHES FREEZE PROHIBITING ENTRY TO THE VEHICLE AND/OR PROHIBITING THE DOORS TO LATCH AND STAY CLOSED. PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AND YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE DOOR(S) CLOSED OR IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE DOOR IS FROZEN AND YOU'RE SURPRISED WHEN THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN IN TRAFFIC. FORD HAS PERFORMED TSB SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND IS NOW STATING THERE IS NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE DEALER KNOWING IT WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASHED BUT STILL IS A CLEAN TITLE I HOPED THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED TODAY I FOUND OUT THERE'S BODY OR FRAME DAMAGE BEHING THE DOOR WHEN I OPEN OR CLOSE IT IT MAKES A NOISE LIKE AN OLD RUSTY CAR,IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN I OPENED IT AND SAW THE DAMAGE
THE LEFT REAR DOOR DOES NOT ALWAYS LATCH PROPERLY AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT UNLOCK. OCCASIONALLY THE REAR DOOR MUST BE SECURED BY TYING IT TO SOMETHING FROM THE INSIDE SO THAT IT DOES NOT FLY OPEN. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE, TO HAVE THE MECHANISM REPLACED AND TO HAVE FORD'S DOOR SEALING RECALL COMPLETED. THE OTHER 3 DOORS WORK FINE.
DRIVERS DOOR OPENED BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. TRIED TO SHUT IT AND IT WOULD NOT SHUT. IT APPEARS THE TRUCK HAS THE FREEZE DOOR LATCH ISSUE THAT FORD HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS. THE NHTSA SHOULD DEMAND A RECALL AND MAKE FORD FIX THE VEHICLES CORRECTLY. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE GETTING THE SERVICE PERFORMED AND IT IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU DOOR CAN FLY OPEN AT ANYTIME.
WHEN BELOW FREEZING THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AFTER OPEN. VEHICLE OPERATOR NEEDS TO PHYSICALLY HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED BECAUSE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH.
MY F150 HAS A DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH/DOOR. IN THE COLD IT FREEZES, YOU CANT OPEN THE DOOR OR THE DOOR WON'T CLOSE/LOCK, IT BASICALLY SWINGS OPEN. I HAVE LOOKED ON THE FORUMS WHICH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS. FORD REPLACES THE PARTS WITH THE SAME PARTS WHICH IN SOME CASES DOESNT FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS VERY SCARY IF YOU SOMEONE CLOSES THE DOOR THINKING IT LOCKED AND IT SWINGS OPEN WHILE YOUR DRIVING. ALSO SOMEONE CAN BE TRAPPED IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE DOOR IS FROZEN SHUT. LUCKLY I WAS HOME IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS ISSUE HAPPENED. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS SOMEONE CAN GET HURT.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY BAD, COLD. HESITATES, AND SHIFTS LATE.WARM, IT WILL NOT SHIFT WHEN THROTTLE IS PUSHED AFTER RELEASING THROTTLE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE REACCELERATING. LEFT FRONT DOOR FREEZES BAD IN COLD WEATHER, TWICE IN TWO DAYS NOW, TAKES 15-20 MINUTES BEFORE IT WILL STAY LATCHED. NO OTHER DOORS ARE AFFECTED. SERIOUS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DOOR MAY OPEN WHILE DRIVING.RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM ON OTHER YEARS. VERY DANGEROUS.
